learned a very valuable lesson today

#for each DICKHEAD you encounter there will always be a kind person waiting for you :)#i was flabbergasted that everyone had decided to be an asshole towards me. a stranger #first scenario: i was in the train watching my phone and this older guy comes up to me and starts going off on a 'kids these days!!' rant #he basically told me that i was BEGGING to get my ass beaten and my phone stolen and he wouldnt come console me when i cried abt it #me being used to this treatment from my grandma i just went ok. and put my phone away #and obviously that pissed the guy even more so he continued to rant until it was his stop #i wasnt too pissed because i was going to HAVE A BURGER!! but still. what??#so i went to get that burger and wait for my mom so we can go to the farm #and the burger guy was extra niceys to me :) we joked around and stuff #AND THEN. scenario number two #i had my delicious burger and i was looking for a table when i saw two ladies sitting with and empty table next to them #and so i went! i was just about to sit down when a random lady SNATCHES the chair i was about to use #i was like WTF???#the two old ladies saw this and instantly went like wtf are you ok??? and starting having a go at the random woman #she ofc in good karen fashion didnt care. so the ladies let me have one of the chairs so i could sit next to them #the woman decided to sit right in front of us and so we started shit talking her between us. it was very fun tbh #i was genuinely bummed at these interactions till i realized that there were lots of strangers that were niceys to me #and have me extra ketchup #anyway!! im off to see my dog now #love u

Hey uh I need you to go more in depth about the "the characters know they're in a musical" thing because that is an insane take I've never heard about any musical in my entire life

hello i will do so and relish in it

okay to begin with this only applies to the stage production. both movies we are just watching what’s happening in real time imo. they have no idea wtf is going on look at them.

when the stage production opens damian has a whole little spiel like “good morning freshmen! welcome to high school!” and then cautionary tale happens and blah blah blah etc.

it’s also worth noting that. mean girls is objectively not a good musical. is it my favorite yes will i shank anyone outside the fandom who says this 100% BUT if you compare it to something like the prom with a similar setting/similar vague concept it’s really not. not great.

BUT i think this was kind of weirdly intentionally done.

again in the beginning during it roars and whatnot the animals that walk by are clearly just people in costumes and i think that’s also on purpose. the zebras have paintbrushes for manes for pete’s sake (like janis hello???)

SO i personally think that what we’re seeing is a musical that damian and janis co-wrote. i think damian did most of it and janis helped. she wrote i’d rather be me and things like that

i think it’s bad because it was written and produced by actual teenagers themselves. i am 100% convinced that they are seniors acting out the previous year as a sort of welcome to high school assembly for the incoming freshmen. mr. duvall said they could either do something creative to tell their story as an example of why Bullying Is Bad ™ or have detention for the entirety of the next year and they did this. the others have to act in it for the same reason and janis and damian just wanted to.

they’re acting as themselves and fully self aware the entire time. it feels like it’s happening in real time because it’s only been a few months since it did and the memories are fresh for all of them.

karen is the only one who breaks the fourth wall (except janis and damian at the top of the show and top of the second act) for GOOD REASON!! SHES DONE IT ALL BEFORE!!!!!

the reason janis and damian are the sort of narrators and the audience’s window into the show is because they’re the ones who are putting it on and producing it.

anyway in conclusion i fully believe they’re aware they’re in a musical and this is all happening like in their school gym or auditorium lmao

#janis did set design #regina’s mom made the costumes/they just. wore their own clothes #damian wrote the book #he and janis went roughly halfsies on the songs #the screenshots of the tweets and ig posts and whatnot are real #etc etc #kevin also only agreed to participate bc they let him sing #like let’s do this thing was the bargaining chip they had to get him to do it #regina actually agreed immediately bc she gets to be a bond villain #karen doesn’t understand what they’re doing but she’s the best at it #cady is thrilled with the whole thing she memorized all her lines on the first day of rehearsal #gretchen just didn’t want to be left out and she likes her song #ms norbury is secretly sad she doesn’t get her own song but she’s just proud of her kids #and the reason some of the like ‘haha teenagers and their technology’ jokes don’t totally land #is bc duvall and norbury made edits and they just had to go with it or get detention

mike telling them how some of his toys have emotional value which is good communication coming from a kid, and instead of listening and acknowledging what mike is saying karen goes “oh eMoTiOnAl vAlUe?” full of sarcasm and ted immediately corrects mike saying “they are hunks of plastic, michael”

And the line-up needs to be the New Teen Titans plus one or two extra heroes not in the original ensemble.

Let's add Karen Beecher/Bumblebee and - possibly - Jericho.

It's no secret James Gunn loves 80s pop culture and it influences his work. The above team WERE the Titans of the 80s.

And we can update it by having Dick, Donna, and Wally be young adults, college age or freshly out of college, who USED to be part of the Teen Titans until it fell apart, and even the first five to ten minutes can be a flashback of the first teen titans versus their first villain, Mister Twister, that way we get the Roy and Garth shout out, before it skips ahead and shows them living normal lives. Meanwhile you have Gar, Vic, Karen, Rachel, and Kory all converging on the three to face whatever villain they choose to make the first big bad. Whoever doesn't get picked for the first film is the sequel villain. Meanwhile the third movie absolutely has to be the Judas Contract.

anyone else find it suspicious that nancy’s vecna vision was so vague?? like yes it was implied that she saw her family dead (sans ted bc fuck him) but she didn’t actually say that she just said “mom and holly… and mike” and then she broke down crying and DIDNT FINISH

like just saying i think this is going to be capitalized on in s5 where nancy will share that it was actually mike getting vecna’d or something???? or she’ll figure out the mike getting vecna’d agenda first???? idk i just feel like the vague wording gives them some leeway in terms of the narrative???

also lowkey a sketch parallel to henry’s own family like imagine the vision he showed her was like what creels story was like with the dinner table and the vecna’d mom and the kids unconscious ??????? wheeler family being col-de-sac heteronormative perfection is giving the creel families flashback is it NOT?????? ik there’s that whole theory about the grandfathers and the relations and all that and i think henry is also specifically targeting the wheelers (taking barb and will, mike vecna’d s5, nancy vecna’d s4) because their family reminds them of his own?????
