Okay, here are my current notes on the Markarth Incident. This is more of an evolution of thought rather than a final product, 'kay? 'kay. XOXO

4E 174 – The Empire recalls all Legions from the far corners of the Empire to participate in the final assault against the Aldmeri-held Imperial City. Every town and city not on the frontlines is left with a skeleton garrison.

The Reachmen of Western Skyrim chooses to capitalize on this movement. The Reachmen populate an area of Western Skyrim, Eastern High Rock, and Northern Hammerfell. Although they appear similar to the Bretons of High Rock, they are wholly distinct, worshipping gods completely detached from those of Breton culture. During the Second Era, they once ruled Cyrodiil as the Longhouse Emperors; in recent history, they have lived subject to other races, primarily the Nords, who rule much of the Reach. More often than not, Reachmen are second-class citizens, though very rarely have they received decent though not preferential treatment from a Nordic Jarl.

When the Empire recalls their Legions, the capital of the Reach, Markarth, is left functionally undefended. A Reachman leader, Madanach, takes this opportunity to seize the city and install a Reachmen government in place of the Nords. Madanach declares himself King of the Reach and succeeds the Reach from Skyrim. Contemporary Imperial documents show that Madanach sent emissaries to Emperor Titus Mede II in an attempt to have the Reach recognized as its own Imperial Province wholly separate from Skyrim. Titus Mede appeared to have taken this into serious consideration, though he was unable to give it his full attention as the Empire was planning their attack on the Imperial City.

Conflicting reports on the time frame of the Reachman takeover exist. Reports vary between the takeover beginning in Fourth Era 174 and 177 when the conflict was over. Contemporary Imperial and Forsworn documentation claim that Madanach’s rule was relatively stable, saying he was fair to the Nords, his people ousted from power, and allowed them to remain in the city so long as they recognized his government. It is said that live around Markarth continued in the same way as before, though under the Reachmen rather than the Nords. It may be important to note that Nord landholders who “mistreated” their Reachmen servants were put to death.

The Nordic perspective (as shared by Jarl Igmund in Fourth Era 201) claims that the Reachmen takeover was violent, leading to a chaotic period in which Nords were heavily discriminated against and no civil cooperation between races.

[Madanach’s version of events MAY be closer to the truth. N.B: During his rule, he seems willing to help a group of dissident Blades in exchange for a favor.]

The White-Gold Concordat is signed 11th of Sun’s Dusk, Fourth Era 175; Surviving veterans of the Battle of the Red Ring return to their homes, including large populations of Nordic legionnaires. Talos worship is outlawed. Talos temples are closed, though many continue to worship him in private. Ulfric Stormcloak takes offense to the banning of Talos worship, viewing it as a central aspect of Nord culture. His father, Hoag, the Jarl of Windhelm and Bear of Eastmarch, does not legalize Talos worship despite Ulfric’s religiosity. It may be that he wishes to avoid a conflict with the Empire. Jarl Hrolfdir of Markath, in exile by Madanach’s government, promises Ulfric and his supporters religious freedom should they take back the Reach from the Reachmen. This is in blatant disregard of the White-Gold Concordat.

Ulfric leads a militia across Skyrim to the Reach where they took back Markarth. A few Reachmen leaders were imprisoned, though others were killed, along with most of their warriors, though some were driven off into the surrounding wilds. The survivors in exile began to call themselves the Forsworn. They attack Nords and the Empire indiscriminately due to anger and feelings of betrayal.

Most of the Reachmen leaders are killed. However, allegedly at the request of the Silver-Blood family, Madanach is taken prisoner and held in the depths of Cidhna Mine. The Forsworn claim that the Nords, under Jarl Hrolfdir and Ulfric Stormcloak, took back the city through an excess of unnecessary violence, putting to death or imprisoning anyone who had even spoken to Madanach or said his name. It is also said that the family members of those who were deemed to be against the Nords’ rule were imprisoned or killed, even down to young children. Purported Imperial propaganda puts forth that Ulfric himself killed everyone in Markarth who would not join his cause.

It is true that there was bloodshed and death of innocents during the retaking of Markarth. The factuality of this claim can be traced to those Reachmen who survived the incident, sharing their experiences twenty-five years afterward.

Jarl Hrolfdir was assassinated during attempted peace talks with the Forsworn after the retaking of Markarth. It may be that the incident only grew violent after this point due to Nordic retaliation.

Why would Ulfric and Jarl Hrolfdir use that much unnecessary violence and brutality against the Reachmen if they intended to negotiate with them afterward?

Perhaps Igmund instigates the brunt of the violence against the Reachmen following his father’s death.

Jarl Hrolfdir was marked for death by the Dark Brotherhood. It is unknown who performed the Black Sacrament on the Jarl. It is possible someone from outside the conflict placed the contract on Jarl Hrolfdir’s head as a means of sewing chaos between the opposing sides (it could have been Igmund or Raerek [crack theory; maybe the brother was trying to Lion King his way into power and failed miserably? Or one of them opposed making peace with the Reachmen], or perhaps it was the Aldmeri Dominion?). Regardless, the Jarl’s death is the probable instigator for the deaths of many of the Reachman remaining in Markarth.

The Imperial Legion shows up not long after the city is retaken. They are seemingly thankful that Ulfric’s militia took back the Reach. When Ulfric lets them into the city, he asks that they recognize the free worship of Talos that Jarl Hrolfdir had legalized in the Reach; otherwise, the Legion would be fought off. The Imperial Legate (or general?) present at the time okays Ulfric’s request, effectively breaking the White-Gold Concordat. Again. Not long after, the Thalmor discovered this and took issue with this breach of treaty. They give the Empire an ultimatum: disband Talos worship in the Reach or prepare for the Great War to be renewed.

Ulfric and his followers are arrested and imprisoned by the Empire as Talos worship is again banned. The Empire must crack down on cases of Talos worship across the province. In consequence of the incident, the Thalmor gain access to Skyrim for their Justiciars through an Embassy. This is allegedly to enforce the terms of the White-Gold Concordat after it had been broken by the Nords in Fourth Era 176/7, but on an underground level, this allows the Thalmor to hunt, capture, and torture suspected Talos worshippers. The coming of the Thalmor Justiciars to Skyrim is technically a domino effect caused by Ulfric’s demand for free and open Talos worship.

Jarl Hrolfdir’s assassination happens during Ulfric and his supporters imprisonment. It may be possible that it was Ulfric OR one of his men who performed the Black Sacrament (though how could they do this while in an Imperial prison? Ulfric had to smuggle out his eulogy for his father’s funeral – what is the Imperial prison smuggling system like? Could any of them have had access to a dead body? Smuggled in or that of a fellow prisoner?). Whoever performed the Black Sacrament on Jarl Hrolfdir is the root cause for the retribution killings of the Reachmen. (Perhaps it was Thonar Silver-Blood?)

Ulfric is an uncooperative asset to the Thalmor, not because he ever cooperated with them in the first place, but because he is the (unintended) reason they have such a strong foothold in Skyrim now.

I’ll be sharing from my Skyrim longfic - Far Horizons & Ancient Stones. I’ll put my snippets under the cut, so I don’t clog everyone’s pages with my ramblings 😆 (I would have done some for my FFXV stuff but I haven’t got enough chapters written for them yet)

First Chapter: Love at First Sight

Galmar pointed out the people who he had met personally; Hoag Stormcloak - obviously, High King Istlod, his son Torygg, Torygg’s bride-to-be, Elisif. Then there was Hrolfdir, Jarl of Markarth with his son Igmund as his Housecarl, Jarl Skald of Dawnstar and Jarl Balgruuf of Whiterun - their host. As Galmar pointed to Balgruuf, Xander couldn’t help but stare, not at the young Jarl, but at the woman walking with him.

“Who is that? Next to Jarl Balgruuf”

“Helena,” Galmar said, “the Jarls cousin” Galmar looked at Xander “stare any more and you’ll burn a hole through her dress”

“I wasn’t starring” Xander said as he - a little too quickly - turned back to look at Galmar who laughed

“Sure you weren’t”

“Galmar!” the young Housecarl looked over to Hoag who gestured for him to join his Jarl.

“I’m needed, nice to meet you Captain”

“And you Galmar”

Favourite Chapter: Hircine’s Curse

“I killed him?” she gasped, panic started to set in, she gasped for breath and clutched her chest “Gods… I killed him” Skjor shifted so he could hold her closer to him

“Don’t… Jaina listen to me, don’t think like that… you said yourself he would have killed you!” He held her tight against his chest “Jaina, you need to calm down, deep breaths kid… you didn’t kill him, listen to me, you acted in self defence… you didn’t kill him”

“I did… I stabbed him” Skjor didn’t know how else to convince her that what happened wasn't her fault, so instead he just held her, and tried to calm her down, easier said than done. She continued to sob and gasp for breath into the early hours of the morning.

After a while she finally began to calm down, she was still shaking in his arms but at least the crying had stopped.

“Skjor?”

“Yes?”

“Would you tell my cousin what happened… tell him everything”

“If you want me to, I will”

“Yes please”

“I’ll go in the morning; will you try to get some sleep tonight?” Jaina sat for a moment as if she were considering his request “Jaina, you need to sleep”

“Would you stay?” Jaina asked “I… I don’t want to be alone”

“Of course, I will”

Jaina grimaced as she settled back down onto her bed, Skjor moved to the chair that was at her bedside.

Once she was asleep, Skjor leant forward, letting out a sigh as he did. How in Oblivion am I going to tell her cousin? He thought as he looked up at her, she looked uncomfortable, wincing in her sleep as she tried to find the best position to sleep in, one that would not agitate the wounds that still hadn’t healed.

Why couldn’t I have stopped him? How did he manage to best me in a wolf fight?

“I’m so sorry Jaina” Skjor whispered

Most Challenging Chapter: The Crown & The Dragonguard (current chapter I’m working on)

That afternoon, Kaidan walked over to Jaina while she prepared her horse that Galmar had let her ride

“You sure you want me to come alone with you? The Jarls Housecarl hasn’t taken his eyes off me since we got here”

“Maybe he likes you” Jaina smirked, Kaidan laughed, “the don’t trust you, Kai… I heard Ulfric tell Galmar too keep an eye on you on my way out of the palace, you just need to give them a reason to trust you” Kaidan nodded

“If that’s what you want, I will try to do it”

“Thank you, Kaidan”

“Dragonborn! Come on, we’re ready” Kaidan returned to his horse while Jaina mounted hers before joining Galmar’s group on the road which led to the west

Skyrim Asks

Thanks for the tag @babyblueetbaemonster!

I think that makes now a good time to introduce my dragonborn Kyria! (Pronounced Kai-ra, I don't know what was up with younger me's spelling)

A Nord battlemage from a secluded village somewhere in the eastern mountains, raised in the old Nord ways, so basically she knows lore but not what's currently going on. Joined the Stormcloaks because the Imperials tried to cut her head off that one time and she's still mad about it.

Currently on the run from her destiny and probably the law in at least one province, not because she's a criminal but because she's prone to causing problems.

On to the actual asks:

1. Favorite Tavern:

I don’t know, I played on 360 so no mods and it was long before survival mode so I didn't stay at inns much. XD

I know she doesn't like the ones that play the Imperial song though.

She might like the New Gnisis Corner Club to get a break from the rest of Windhelm but I don't really think they want Nords there.

2. Favorite Drink:

Mead

3. Travel Companion:

Meeko! The lonely loyal dog quickly became her best friend, they’re inseparable now. And he's the only one who will eat her cooking. XD

Sometimes she also travels with her fellow college students.

4. Wealthy or not?

5. Worships the Aedra or the Daedra?

I never really thought of her as that religious but since she was raised in the ancient Nord ways, she’d probably worship the Nordic Pantheon. But since she’s a rebellious teenager, probably not too religious.

6. Biggest Fear:

Failure, she's made so many mistakes that she's afraid of her next one, you'd think that would make her be more careful but no she continues to be reckless and make mistakes.

Convinced that she'll only ever be a screw up she's also afraid of her destiny as dragonborn, afraid of what would happen if she tried to save the world.

But I think her biggest fear is that she will never change.

7. Pet Peeves:

Jerks, she ends up in a fistfight with a lot of them.

8. Do they like being dragonborn?

Eventually I think she'd have fun with the cool powers, but at first doesn't because of the previously mentioned fears. So she just pretends she isn't dragonborn as if that solves anything.

9. Favorite faction:

The College of Winterhold, it became a home to her (probably because I never bought a house) and the fellow students there her friends.

10. An object of sentimental value:

Was going to be the dagger Alvor taught her to make but I made a bunch of iron daggers to enchant and sell and forgot about it. If I do another playthrough maybe I'll also make it the first thing she enchants, that way I can rename it.

I do like the idea of it being a sentimental item storywise, maybe being the first thing she forged it's not made quite right and Alvor told her that mistakes were just part of learning, so she pulls it out sometimes to remember that. Also I have her using a dagger in an important scene, it might as well be that one.

11. Hobbies:

Interfering with Imperial business. XD

Really I can't think of anything she does other then what we do in game, so I think her hobbies are traveling Skyrim with her dog, bounty hunting, and annoying Imperials.

12. Favorite city:

I’m surprised how difficult this one is. ‘Cause I don’t really like the towns I ended up in the most and I’m not sure she’d actually like them any better.

She likes the College of Winterhold but I don't think she'd care anything about the town, she'd mind Windhelm's cold bleak aesthetic less than I do but it has too many jerks.

Probably Whiterun, but really she prefers the countryside.

Wait, I just realized I assumed this meant hold capitals, it might not. If it's any town then it's definitely Riverwood. It might be the first place to truly take her in since she's left her village, even the Imperials there are so nice and welcoming. Riverwood just feels like home. She wants to beat up Sven and Faendal though.

Skyrim headcannon pt.2- Antagonists

Aye we got the antagonists now!!! I have three rn. I say antagonist cus they're not villains per say? Idk. Redemption arc and shit except for one. So let's get into it huh?

Azrael- Harkon's Protégé

Not to be confused with Azireth, the dunmer... He is a Daywalker vampire lord (race is redguard) even more powerful than Harkon himself. He's 6ft exactly and he's muscular due to the vampiric ways. He charmed the ladies of Dibella in Markarth, and met his now wife, anwen there.

Azrael was different from birth... He had known something made him special. More powerful than many. He actively searched for power. Drawn to Skyrim, He kept under the radar but something still called to him. He wasn't like the Nords anyway. Walking the coast that lined the Sea Of Ghosts... He felt it draw closer and more powerful. Then spotted the castle on the horizon. Was this his next source of power? Taking the boat he made his way... There he was met by the gate keeper who asked his purpose. There he said he sought the power calling to him. He was directed to Harkon, where the gift was given to him. A vampire lord was born. He kept his head low.... He had already sensed jealousy in orthjolf and vingalmo. years went on... Civil war erupted and new whispers of vampire hunters came up. Azrael continued his work. One day someone had brought back Harkons daughter, serana... Unknown to him it was Tiberius. He watched from the balcony. Something was off... But he couldn't put his finger on it. He just continued to work towards what he was to do. Finding the blood chalice and ways to make it more powerful. However on one fateful day he came back to the slaughter of his people. Stunned, he looked for Harkon. Both orthjolf and vingalmo clung to life, begging for azreals help.. but no. Azreal stabbed vingalmo and crushed in orthjolfs head as punishment to them. After he found Harkon in the chapel... Dying. Azreal promised to carry on his legacy. And in his last breath, Harkon gave azreal his heart for the Blood challace to make it powerful and to drink. There he mixed it and drank from it... Becoming a more powerful vampire than what he was... A new vampiric threat... Making new breeds of vampires that Skyrim has never seen.

Cadhlah- Vigilant gone Mad

Name is pronounced Kai-lah. Name derives from Ireland and means beautiful/graceful. She is a Breton. Height is 5'5, and is much shorter than the other entries.

Ah Skyrim... The place of the Daedra worshippers... Or of course that's what Cadhlah saw. A student at the winterhold college (during Savos Arens time) turned Vigilant of Stendarr... She spent years cultivating her craft and her strong held belief. What many do not know is her dark secret... The fact she was a necromancer previously, before turning to a vigilant. She kept it hidden... Until the post she knew was wiped by vampires. She hated them with a burning passion. She watched families be torn apart by them. She didn't stand back idlely. Before the raid though, she was appointed as an enforcer, armed heavily with Stendarrs might. After the attack tho, she had a short stint with the dawnguard... But she felt that they didn't do enough. Especially since they didn't have the source of where it was. She left, still searching. She saw herself as pure even with her necromantic ways. After the second wave of vampire breaks... She had it. Armed as the Paladin of light (or what she referred to herself as), she and her two enforcers traveled to cyrodiil and confronted Tiberius on his handling. Accusing him of letting it happen for too long and accusing him of outrageous things. She wouldn't have it... She went back and went on a rampage, killing those who she saw as "unholy". But that would be her eventual downfall....

Eivor Wolftooth- the wolf of the storm

Yea this is literally a name homage to AC-Valhallas Eivor wolfkissed. She's 5'9 and is one of the only female captains in the stormcloak rebellion. She serves beside Ulfric. This one is a bit short so I apologize

The rebellion was her calling. She was one of the ones captured during the ambush that saw her in helgen. That day she thought she would have died, but by Talos hand, she lived to fight on. Before she joined, she was a companion and a part of the inner circle... A werewolf. She could smell blood and track things for miles. As the war went on, she became battle hardened and ruthless to the Imperial Bastards. Her unit was known as "the Wolf Unit". She had gained the favor of Ulfric like Fenrir did... But unlike him, she stayed by Ulfrics side after the war. After catching word of a "new rebellion" she was ready to wipe it out by any means necessary.

When you can pick your face, why pick anything but the best?

Ralof led the way to an overlook. The horse thief looked walleyed around at the forest, and kept a pace between himself and both Ulfric and the stranger as they walked away from the road.

"Got a question for you guys. all of you. it's relevant, I promise." the stranger said.

"Go on." Ulfric said.

"Either of you remember the ambush clearly?" they asked. "The one that caught us."

"Of course." Ralof said, frowning. "It happened four hours ago."

"Kay, good. Do any of you remember me being there?" they asked.

"Yes." Ralof said.

he saw Ulfric frown and glance back. "Yes?" he said, a question in his voice.

"Think carefully. comb through every detail you recall. do you actually remember me being there? Rorikstead, you haven't said anything. think carefully."

Ralof glanced at the horse thief. "I mean, they threw your ass in the cart with the rest of us..." he said trailing off.

Ulfric nodded. "I see. I remember you were there, but I can't remember any details. what exactly is this?" he asked.

"Hell if I know, apart from either the Nine or the Daedra owe me a fucking explanation and I will insist on collecting one. What it means is I wasn't actually there. I can't be certain I was there until the moment I opened my eyes. next question." they said.

"Do I have a face?" they asked.

"Um, yes?" the thief said.

"Do I though? if you look away from me, can you remember anything about my face, my species, any identifying characteristics? Could you describe me to someone if your life depended on it?"

Ralof realized with a sinking chill along his spine that no detail of the stranger's appearance remained in his head whenever he glanced away from them.

"Stormcloak, you have a question." They said.

"What is your name, stranger?" He asked.

The Argonian woman rubbed an arm across her scales. "Sol. just call me Sol." she said. "Oh god that felt weird."

Ralof realized with a start that she suddenly did have a distinct appearance, scales of a deep, dark green that was almost black, a long tail and a body that looked a bit too curvy for a random wanderer, much less an argonian.

"What just happened?" he asked, coming to a halt.

"Sorry abt that, but I'd rather not end up like the grey fox if I can fuckin' help it. That was character creation and thank the Nine that worked, I was worried I'd screwed the pooch by using a shout in the wrong place." She said, rubbing her scales.

SO ANYWAY YOU GUYS, this happened:

I’m traveling through Falkreath with the husband king, and we come upon a man sitting outside a cave, badly injured. The man says his two friends chased a bear into the cave, but he fears they’ve been murdered by spriggans. So Casien agrees to enter the cave and try to save them, Ulfric presumably following. (Good kings don’t let tiny husbands enter scary caves alone.)

Well, sure enough we’re attacked by a spriggan. It dies quickly, but after the battle, I hear TWO voices, one familiar, one not so familiar... I whirl around and look behind me, only to see...

GALMAR, WHAT THE FUCK?! Yes gang Galmar decided to temporarily join us for no fucking reason whatsoever, the game just randomly inserted him into the cave and in my party. Ulfric doesn’t even look surprised.

Eventually, he and Ulfric got stuck swimming in a small lake (tragic); by the time I exited the cave, Galmar had sadly disappeared. I can only presume he teleported back to Windhelm to continue running Skyrim while his king continues to shirk his duties and cavort about with his little elf.

Tei rarely dresses fancy, this was either for some celebration in Cyrodiil after defeating the Stormcloaks or idk mybe they were invited to a party by Lucien? Tei, Ru, & Kai didn’t really opt for a fancy get-up during their little private forest wedding so it def wasn’t worn then.

🌱 SEEDLING - what is their most vivid memory from childhood?

For Mei it was definitely when her magic kicked in! She was attempting to heal an injured bird she and Courron had found, buuut was a little too late and resurrected it instead! It didn't stay that way for long, 'dying' again soon after but Mei was too excited over the fact that something had worked.

Tei? Definitely the Serpent's Dance festival when they were around 14 or so! They've been to these events before, but it was the first after their injury & they had been cooped up for what felt like ages; being able to join his family and neighbors in the festivities was needed. Lotta goofing around and stuffing their face with street food that day.

👑 CROWN - what does your oc want to be remembered as? why?

Mei would like to be remembered for any (positive) medical advances in Tamriel's history. Or at the very least remembered for helping shed light on successful practices that is looked over by the Empire. While there is good stuff out there already, admittedly the more popular academia she came across were....outdated to put it nicely. It kinda sucks, she wants to fix that.

Tei's honestly not too focused on memory on who they were as a person tbh, at least not by strangers. They're the Dragonborn, they killed Ulfric before Tullius even thought to recruit them & crushed the remaining leaders when he did, they revived the Blades and are planning to try and chase out the Thalmor/topple down how the Empire is built. That's what's important for people to know.

☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right?

A lot of folks assumed Mei got to where she was due to being the LDB's daughter & politicians trying to smooch up to Tei. And well, maybe that could have been the case on her transfer to Summerset - but even then, she's worked hard to get where she's at! She loves her baba, but don't pin her accomplishments on them unless you want to make her upset.

It's a reputation that kinda stuck when they participated fully in the civil war, but folks - especially those sympathetic to the Stormcloaks - assume Tei is rather harsh, if not outright cruel. Which isn't too wrong, Tei can be, but even then they still know their limits and help when required (and worth their time)

☁️ CLOUD - a soft headcanon

Mei handles cuddles via (gently) wrapping herself around the other person. She even fluffs up her feathers so whoever she's cuddling with is nice and comfy as well.

Tei is 100% the type to gently cup their spouses' face in their hands to give them a lil smooch or tell them they love them. They just love being around the two of them, & any moment they can Tei is probably holding Ru or Kai's hand absentmindedly.

❤️ RED HEART - their love language(s)?

For Mei it's sharing her interests with you and going out of her way to learn about her friends'/family's/partner's interests so she can talk about it with them! Also small gifts, a similar habit she shares with Tei. They can range from being fancy jewelry, a good book, or a collection of pinned beetles! If you're into that kinda thing.

Tei is 100% giving small gifts or just hanging around doing whatever! Reading, cooking, just sitting next to one another enjoying each other's company, you name it. They just want to be near their loved ones and be there for them whenever possible.

Occupation: Best described as a spell sword for hire, but really she’s just a wandering necromancer for hire.

Guild Association(s): Used to be a Vigilant of Stendarr, it didn’t end well though.

Favoured School of Magic / Type: It’s a tie between Destruction and Conjuration.

Place Where They Were Raised: Same place up until she was 12 years old, then she came to Skyrim.

Education / Place of Study: No formal education really, her father and his “friends” cult taught her conjuration, or more specifically necromancy, and then when she joined the Vigilants she learned a great deal of restoration magic as well as some destruction. The rest she’s taught herself, so no doubt her magic style would make classically trained mages cringe.

Any Teachers / Inspirations? Pretty much all her teachers and inspirations have let her down in one way or another.

PERSONAL

Patron Deity (if any): Used to be Stendarr until he abandoned her, now she doesn’t associate herself with gods.

Political Alliance (if any): Despite being Imperial Jen doesn’t have any loyalty to the Empire and she does sympathize with the Stormcloaks cause, but it’s kind of hard to fully sympathize with them when they hate her. So, her political alliance is closer to the common people, the ones who are actually suffering from the war.

Strongest Skills: She’s deadly with destruction magic, mainly lighting and she has always had a knack for Necromancy though that’s more of a curse than a blessing.

Strengths: Clever, strategist, She can be downright ruthless in battle, fearless, stubborn, will continue fighting until the end.

Weaknesses: Her fearlessness often leads to recklessness, doesn’t really have survival skills, more often than not her emotions control her rather than vice versa.

Spouses? Flings? Lovers? Jen is pretty sex positive, she’s had a couple of flings here and there but only with people she actually trusts, so friends with benefit situations mostly, she’s not one to have a one night stand or hatefuck, but she’s always kept them at arms lengths and the minute feelings start she scatters. In her entire life she’s only be in love twice, once with her partner in the Vigilants who ended up betraying her and she ended up killing him, and then with Kaidan who she eventually marries.

Thaneship (and of where?) Whiterun, Riften, and somehow Morthal though she’s not entirely sure how she became Thane of any of those holds.

Most Difficult Quest They’ve Been On? Pretty much any of the quests from the Vigilant Mod, the one where she had to fight Lamae fucked her up emotionally.

Jail Time? No she’s too streetwise.

Largest Bounty Held? The vigilants have a pretty large bounty on her head, but I don’t think that counts.

How Much Gold Are They Typically Carrying? Anywhere from 2 to 20000 Septims

How Do They Get Gold? Primarily through necromancy jobs, a lot of people will hire her for help getting rids of spirits, ghosts, etc... But Jen isn’t good at charging or saying no to people in need, so most of her income comes from overcharging rich people and jarls.

Are Werebeings and Vampires Vile Creatures or Simply Misunderstood? If you asked her this a couple of years ago she would have said, yes they are vile and need to be eradicated. Now that she’s no longer a vigilant and not under the influence of them she has a different opinion. Now she realizes the line between man and monster is a lot more blurred, now she sees herself more as the monster after all she’s done in the name of Justice.

Do They Actively Hunt Dragons? Not really, they hunt her more often than not.

Goals In Life? Help as many people as she can and hopefully do some good for once.

Deepest Regret? Killing innocent people under the guise of Stendarr’s mercy, and not being able to save Altano before it was too late.

Greatest Hope? She would never say this but she desperately wants a family. She craves the unconditional love that she has searched for all her life and was instead betrayed and her love used against her.

Most Embarrassing Moment: She has screamed more than once encountering spiders.

Flaws: Stubborn, hot headed, unforgiving, judgmental, isn’t very good at controlling her emotions which isn’t exactly good thing for a mage or a dragonborn, proud.

Fears: Spiders and all other kinds of creepy crawlers especially things with more than two legs, betrayal, the dead (especially the ones that haunt her nightmares).

What Makes Them Happy? Flowers, the stars, the quiet nights, helping others, her friends, baths.

Hobbies: She’s actually an avid horseback rider, if her life had been normal she probably would have owned a stables, collecting flowers and creating new spells as well.

Favorite Locations: She loves Riverwood and the area surrounding it, it helps that the people of Riverwood actually like her.

Favorite Holds: Falkreath

Eating Habits? She’s not very picky.

Can They Cook? She can, though she doesn’t have much time to make gourmet meals, so she really just cooks enough to get by.

Favorite Food: She loves tomato soup, it reminds her of her childhood, before her parents went crazy.

Favorite Drink: Wine

First Thing They Do At A Tavern? Take a bath

Sleeping Habits? Very sporadic, sometimes she won’t get sleep for days, other times she will sleep 12 hours at a time. God help anyone that tries to wake her up, she’s a graceful riser.

Cities or the wilds? Both, she likes people watching and being near civilization, but she also loves the outdoors, being under the night sky, fields of flowers etc.

Pet Peeves? Being talked over, being bossed around (specifically by men)rich people just fucking existing.

Describe Their Bedroom or Home There would also be fresh flowers in a vase, as well as lavender hanging from the roof. It would be very clean, unless she’s working of magic study of a new spell than it’s a complete mess.

How Would A Stranger Describe This Person? She’s got a bad case of Resting Bitch face, comes across as very cold and distant, just an unfeeling bitch.

Someone Close To Them? The opposite of that. She cares so much for her friends and will go to the ends of the Earth for them, it’s that quality that has gotten her in a lot of trouble. She helps whoever she can and has the worst case of bleeding heart syndrome. .

How Do They Deal With Anger? Jen is a hot head, and when she does get angry she can be cruel and unrelenting. But luckily her anger fizzles out pretty quickly especially if she knows she wrong, so she will apologize and make things right if it’s someone she loves. But if you’re in the wrong, it’s gonna be hard to get her forgiveness back.

How Do They Deal With Failure? She can take it hard, she’ll probably get moody and lash out, but deep down knows she’s really just angry with herself, eventually she cols off and learns from her mistakes and swears to not make them again.

How Do They Deal With Loss of a friend or someone close? Jen’s friends are everything to her so losing them would wreck her, she wouldn’t be able to sleep or eat, or probably even let them go that easily, she would storm the gods if it meant saving someone she loved

Go Into The Bandit Filled Cave To Retrieve The Lost Amulet For Some Simpleton, or Tell Them Nah Bye? Depends is it someone desperate and downtrodden who couldn’t do it themselves? Yes. Someone entirely capable of doing it themselves? probably not then, but all you really need to do is make up a sob story to appeal to her bleeding heart.

Opinions on Daedra? She isn’t a vigilant anymore but she still knows Daedra are always a bad idea and would probably never side with them or trust them. Molag Bal though, she would storm Coldharbour just to kill him, she would find a way to kill daedra just to kill him.

Have They Stuck Around? Not really, they had a bit of a fling and Jen scattered.

Something The Look For In A Follower (or do they hire anyone without question?) Someone who she trusts and won’t get annoyed by her gentle mothering as well as her need to save everyone and everything. But really trust is a huge thing, she would die for her friends so she needs someone who won’t betray that trust.
