🏒one piece hockey au / zosan hockey au (part 5)🏒
Tumblr media
- the funniest one in the whole team
- his nickname is “The God” (he chose it… he just called himself that and it just sticked)
- has more goals behind him than whole team combined, he’s like a real life sniper 👀
- most of people underestimate how smart that boy is, so when he pulls a really hard strategic move during the match the opponents don’t know what to do and how to react
- he’s dad also was a hockey player, but didn’t go professional
- Usopp is often very nervous before games, but when it is time to go on ice something clicks and he becomes “The God”
- him and Nami (team’s social media manager and publicist) became besties the day they met, it was their first day at the team and they were so stressed they started talking to each other
- since then they just been the iconic duo of The Srawhats
- there were rumours that they are dating… lol no that’s actually hilarious like Usopp and Nami(🤨🏳️‍🌈)?
- they made bets on when Zoro will ask Sanji out, because these two were dancing around each other for loong time (he lost)
- he was the one who helped Luffy to get the team’s instagram password, luckily he just got scolded by Nami
- him and Kaya are high school sweethearts 😭🥰
- they were childhood friends before they started going out
- Usopp LOVES to tell everyone how they got together and how he was so romantic and the whole school just stood there with their jaws dropped and some people cried (Kaya just giggles and says that it’s not how it was)
- Kaya herself comes from the rich family, she always wanted to be a doctor, she’s a medical student
- the reason why she wants to be a doctor is because she ad a really serious sickness when she was young and she hated it so much she doesn’t want anyone feel the same way
- Usopp was one of people who always came to visit her in the hospital, they weren’t friends yet, just classmates and he wanted to cheer up the sweet girl, who gave him a pencil once when he forgot his
- turned out they love the same book series about adventures

Hey so I saw your Tanjiro!reader fic and wanted to aak if you could do another one but this time with misturi!reader instead. Cuz isint mitsuri like the perfect girl in sanji's eyes?
Oh and can you do this with straw hat, heart and kidd pirates please?
thank you !
─Strawhats, Heart Pirates & Kid Pirates x Mitsuri!reader
─Summary: Your heart feels like it's going to explode at how adorable everyone around you seems, painting your vision with rose-colored glasses.
─Warnings: none
Tumblr media
─ They look at you so confused when you blush madly at random, leading them to compare you to Sanji when he sees pretty girls.
─ They discover that it doesn't just happen to you when you see people who are attractive to you, but rather because of the love stories you see around you, even if it's not even something romantic, you are passionate about seeing people being affectionate.
─ They really don't pay much attention to your amorous personality, they have it quite normalized because of the cook.
─ No doubt you'll fantasize with Sanji about girls, of course, if he's being a little gross you'll hit him and explain to him why love can't just be about falling in love with someone at first sight and that it's something much deeper.
─ Zoro gives you so many blank looks because of your attitude… however, he finds your fighting style and your curious sword endearing, he admires that about you.
─ You help Usopp write letters to Kaya from time to time, you help him express his feelings about her and you love seeing her responses, you love this couple!
─ You have the habit of hugging Chopper like a stuffed animal when a romantic or sentimental scene is happening before you, you will also drag him with you when you want to rant about some gossip with Nami and Robin.
─ Franky will join in from time to time to gossip, although it may not seem like it, he is another romantic like you, he just doesn't let that side of him come out as much.
─ Brook will only make you more sentimental by playing some music in the background, you thank him for dramatizing the scene and making your heart explode with happiness.
─ Jinbe is a little skeptical about your passionate and loving personality, however he doesn't bother you about that, he was also young and in love at some point.
─ Luffy doesn't understand, no matter how many times you explain to him the feelings that come with certain actions, the devotion of love and feelings, Luffy will only say that if someone likes each other, then they should kiss and that's it.
Tumblr media
─ Law is a little irritated by your 'fangirl' side when it comes out at the least opportune moments, can you fantasize about a couple of enemies after the mission and not when you don't have to be discovered? No, you can't.
─ You're in the same boat as Ikkaku, although you show it much more than her, Ikkaku loves seeing how people relate and the love affairs that develop over time.
─ Bepo cheers up when you tell him that you have new gossip and you usually occupy your free hours talking non-stop about it.
─ You spend the day sighing fondly when you see an action of affection, everyone gets used to your blushes and eyes full of feeling quite quickly.
─ You joke a lot about the 'bromance' relationship that Shachi and Penguin have, at least, to them you make it look like a joke but in your mind they are dating.
─ You have certain comical moments that make the tension on the ship disperse, everyone has laughed more than once because you crashed into a wall because you were distracted looking at a couple.
─ They're fighting if someone messes with your appearance, they know you have some problems with that because of your past, Ikkaku is throwing her fists first for you.
─ This will only make your heart warm and accelerate as you see how everyone, in a certain way, demonstrates their attachment to you, feeling that your feelings were reciprocated since you also took charge of defending them.
Tumblr media
─ This crew is not that sentimental, not to say that they are not, or they have affection buried deep in their hearts.
─ Perhaps Wire and Heat are more open to talking to you about romance and emotions than Kid and Killer, their mouths are sealed when it comes to those topics.
─ However, they don't care much about you blushing or muttering when you see something cute happen, which you do quite often considering how infrequent affectionate actions are among this testosterone-filled crew.
─ They appreciate and find the way you swing your sword quite intriguing, you may be at your most sensitive after having observed the most adorable thing in the world before your eyes and being slaughtering someone who interrupted the moment.
─ They definitely don't interrupt you when you're creating fantasies in your head, if you're distracted enough you could accidentally impale someone with your sword.
─ You join their conversations about hot people to give your spiel about love, even though they only listen to the part where you say that person is hot, they are simple guys.
─ Although, if any of them are really into something or want to start romanticizing their life, they will come to you without a second thought, who better to guide them on the path of love?
─ They find your calmer personality quite relaxing compared to everyone else's, if they are looking for some peace or rest they will also come to you, they don't mind you talking to yourself about your feelings when silence is created.

My Headcanons for the Strawhats: (Monster Trio)
Luffy:
- Low-key has REALLY bad abandonment issues (see him telling Ace he keeps following him into a dangerous forest bc it makes him feel less alone, Sabo's 'death', Saboady, Marineford, etc)
- Autistic
- When he relaxes/sleeps his body will become super slack an his arms an legs will spread out all over
- HATES the cold and his body hurts when it's too cold out (rubber breaks easily when frozen)
- Will drink but is superrrrrrr picky about booze
- Has very green eyes an no one can convince me otherwise
- Love language is Physical touch (He bites people, affectionately)
- (Based on my Headcanons that Luffy is Brazilian and Robin is Peruvian) His first language is Portuguese an if he forgets a word he'll ask Robin to translate
- Favorite color is red (any shade)
- Likes collecting shiny rocks/pretty sea shells
- Is the most emotionally intelligent person on the crew an has really good observation skills but takes most things at face value/doesn't question them bc he can't understand why someone wouldn't want to show/say exactly what they mean
- If he cries or gets embarrassed enough to blush he'll cover his face with his hat
- Likes when Nami/anyone paints his nails but can never sit still long enough to get them done nicely
- Ambidextrous
- Knows a lot about bugs and can rattle off facts about them for hours
- Really really good at guessing games to the point everyone thinks he's cheating somehow
- Has stretch marks alllll over
- Eats so much bc his stomach stretches no matter how much he eats so he never really feels 'full'
- Has HATED Garp ever since he did nothing to help during Marineford
Zoro:
- Has dimples but he's insecure so he tries hiding them
- Everyone thinks he has green eyes but I think he has brown eyes
- His love language is Acts of service
- Extremely touch starved (if someone plays with his hair he is passing out IMMEDIATELY)
- Secretly loves that (other then Robin) Chopper always goes to him first for everything
- Really loves forests, if they land on an island with one he's most likely heading there first
- Unofficial Official first mate of the strawhats
- When it comes to keeping the crew safe he trusts Robin & Sanji the most (other then the Captain ofc) because he knows they won't hesitate to kill someone they're fighting
- Nami is like a sister to him
- Is actually REALLY good at math an confused tf out the crew when they found out (is now in charge of keeping track of the amount of necessities on the ship or how much they need for a certain amount of time)
- Will forget how long he's been going when training an won't realize til someone stops him
- Gets worried/nervous anytime he watches someone walking down stairs
- Knows a shit ton of knife/sword tricks (can absolutely swallow a sword)
- Doesn't like showers bc he hates water on his face
- Is willing to follow Luffy's orders without question (Post time skip, Pre time skip -specifically before thriller bark- Zoro would still question Luffy)
- One of the few Straw hats that hasn't dated anyone (Sanji had some flings w/ regulars at Baratie, Usopp w/ Kaya, Nami had a few flings here an there, Franky had been with a few people back on water 7 and Brook had been with a few people back when he was alive)
- His favorite color is Sage green/Gold
- Taught Chopper some sword fighting techniques (Brook also joined in an taught Chopper some of his moves)
- Loves taking naps with Chopper (Chopper is low-key his favorite person on the crew)
- He an Robin have little competitions to one up eachother with gifts or things for Chopper bc they both wanna be his favorite >:)
Sanji:
- Loves the ocean/thinks it's the most beautiful part of nature ever
- Either is a Queer Cis guy OR a Queer Trans woman<3
- Ace was absolutely his gay awakening but he thought it was a 'fluke' til he stayed on the momorio island and accepted himself
- Sees it as a HUGE compliment when anyone on the crew gains weight bc it reaffirms he's doing his job well :)
- Loves loves loves all animals and won't let anyone hurt them (including rodents/other "gross" animals)
- Has insectophobia/arachnophobia and OCD
- HATES having anything covering to much of his face/head bc of the mask Judge had him in
- Pulls on his hair when frustrated/angry/overwhelmed/etc.
- French is his first language
- Knows how to figure skate, do ballet and learned gymnastics
- His love language is Words of affirmation
- Writes letters to Zeff at least once a week (after the events at WCI he started addressing Zeff as Dad in his letters)
- Is secretly writing his own cookbook
- Has anisocoria, effects his right eye (anisocoria can easily be confused with heterochromia. It gives the appearance of two different eye colors, but the variation only relates to pupil size — which can cause one eye to look darker than the other — not the actual eye color.)
- Sanji an Usopp are actually really close (both their moms passed bc of sickness both had shit dads plus soba mask + sogeking friendship is superior)
- Sees Zoro as a brother (their dynamic is like the eldest brothers who try to compete over everything)
- Sees Robin as a mother figure but low-key feels guilty about it
- Told Nami everything about his past after WCI and they're really close now
- Sees Luffy a bit as an obnoxious younger brother
- When it gets really hot he'll let Chopper sit inside/in front of the freezer for a little bit

I recently finished the loguetown anime arc and bc there was a bunch of differences from the manga & details that stood out from me
-things happen a lot faster in the manga, but the anime had a lot of side quests, so to sideline luffy (keeping him from the big moment on the executioners platform) they were like ; lol ummmm. he’s going to be lost for like five episodes straight & take a nap in the street
-nami stepping in between usopp n daddy the parent because she's on the constant look out for her crew, and though she may not be the strongest fighter, it won't stop her from trying to protect them
-everyone freaking out and being terrified of RORONOA ZORO DEMON PIRATE HUNTER and he's just yelling with a broom in his mouth bc he's on house keeping duty "stop calling me that!!!"
-I felt soooooooo bad for usopp because daddy the parent realized what was important to him (his daughter) and changed his entire career (from marine that traveled to bounty hunter who stayed local) while yasopp basically said he'd never have a part in his son's life
-daddy the parent noticing immediately that the back of usopp's head was in the photo. official member of his fan club which includes kaya, the usopp pirates, and usopp
-nami and usopp absolutely fangirling over sanji at the cooking competition was so cute (it was also nice to see sanji so outright & genuinely passionate)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-luffy n zoro on a lunch date where neither of them have money and BUGGY ends up covering their bill
-luffy having his literal head on the chopping block and six blocks over zoro going "I have a bad feeling......." babygirl has a 'luffy is in danger' six sense confirmed
-interesting that they switched luffy from laughing before he dies to just smiling
-smoker trying to stop luffy then and there bc he knows if he doesn't the straw hat pirates are going to be a PROBLEM!!!! but also being lowkey obsessed w him
-the citizens of loguetown absolutely living for the drama bc under smoker's rule they've never been safer but its never been more boring

East Blue Polycule, yeah? Let me headcanon-dump onto you, stranger who didn't ask for it!
They overall love one another equally (in their own unique ways), but they do have favorites (keep it a secret though 🤭🤫🫡).
Luffy doesn't favor anyone in particular, but he has the most fun with Usopp and the most 'emotional' (big quotes on that) times with Zoro.
Speaking of the Lettuce Demon, his favorite is obviously Luffy, I need not elaborate on this point. He was the first and he will be the last.
Sanji's favorites are Nami and Usopp, Nami in the more silly yet beloving sense. She'll often tease him for being such a simpy simp, but will happily give him some love every now and then. Usopp is constantly around, not just Sanji but the whole crew, and through that Nicotine Kicker kind of just got used to him being THE first one he'd go to (aside captainly stuff and such). They behave more like married folks who've been together for around 10 years most of the time, but this doesn't take away from Sanji's simpyness. Sanji simps for all his partners, but he only visibly does it with Nami and semi-visibly with Usopp. The other two are far more casual.
Nami's favorite is Vivi (surprise! I got this idea from another post, I don't remember the poster, but aaaugh I love it!!!), but out of the crew it's Usopp. Vivi and Nami are one-to-one, the blue gurl isn't dating anyone else. They keep in contact by constantly sending each other letters and SNÄILIN'!!! Usopp is Nami's crew-favorite because... well... they're besties. They bond over so much, and they're the most open in the relationship with one another (close second being Luffy and Zoro tied with Sanji and Usopp, followed by Luffy and Nami, ect ect).
Usopp's favorites are Nami (because of stated bonding) and Sanji (because of their incredible connection), but Luffy deserves an honorable mention as Usopp spends a lot of time and has a blast with him!! Sometimes they also take two-on-two time, rarely it can turn into a little bit of a quiet session, but usually they rave about future adventures and plans. Sometimes Luffy makes Usopp come up with a 'bedtime story', but it's just an excuse to see the sniper get so passionate and think about another adventure!
(This is also from that other poster, aaaaa thank you for infecting my brain with this incredible rot) Aside Vivi, Kaya is dating both Nami and Usopp! They rarely manage to talk, but when they do their sessions are long and if someone disturbs them it's game over for them!
Now onto the funsy headcanons!
Nami and Usopp browse magazines together on a daily basis (sometimes Robin joins them as the cool mother of the group), and they plan some cool and absolutely ✨️SLAY✨️ outfits none of them can ever wear.
Zoro and Sanji have a little bit of a play-competition going on constantly. They get genuinely pissed off by the other often times, but sometimes they make something a competition as an excuse to angrily make out against the kitchen wall (they definitely 'sword'fight about who tops)
Luffy doesn't completely process the relationship as a, well, romantic relationship. He's more in it for the good times, and because he loves the peeps! He's overall fine with more strictly romantically-viewed things, but sometimes he just doesn't want to. One second he will say "Zoro, crush me with your arms", the next he sees Franky and Robin (the cool parents) kissing and he goes "BLEUGH I'm going to need a shovel to transport this bullshit out of my mouth BLEHHHHHH"
Usopp is the most insecure and unstable in the relationship. He's very people-pleasery, while also trying to keep up a persona. If he ever emotionally talks it's usually to Nami, sometimes to Sanji within the relationship, but outside of it he confides in Franky (the awesome dadster) and Jinbe (the ultimately best grandpops). He tries to get better, but fails to realise how. He has fun with everyone, seeks to be around them at all times, but sometimes he can't help but disappear. If you don't see him at breakfast give him until lunch, at that point it's suitable to check-in. Who knows what the thoughts in his head have made him do.
Sanji has a dedicated notebook/ramblebook about each one of the peeps. Sometimes when he can't sleep, or someone just did something he found notable, he whips out a book and starts going "September 1st, 1989, dear diary-" oh shit, wrong fandom.
Zoro is the one that has to be dragged into things the most, he does go willingly as well but his solitude is important to him. This being said he usually doesn't mind Luffy or Usopp chilling around if he's laying back, sometimes they can ramble and do their own thing as well. A lot of the time it's just sitting and silently contemplating on things, with Usopp at least. If Luffy doesn't have stimulation for five seconds he'll gomu-gomu the ship.
Nami absolutely loves physical contact, but sometimes feels bad that she can't see her girlfriends and feel them around. In these cases she'll request some physical space until things have settled, but sometimes that can make her even more clingy. She usually seeks out Usopp, but will cling onto someone else if he isn't to be seen.
Luffy found a new appreciation for various relationship through the polycule. This also helped him think more healthily about his past, those who are gone and those who are alive. He's managed to settle some feelings, but a lot of experiences still hinder his head. He doesn't think about those things that much, and besides if he feels down he will quite literally start deflating. A quick munch of food, mention of stories or a good song will always cheer him right up.
Usopp actively leaves gifts for everyone around the ship (to the ones outside the relationship as well, but extra for the peeps). They're handmade, and they range from silly notes/drawings with cheesy jokes to actual equipment/tools and sometimes even clothing and jewelry.
I COULD GO ON FOR SO LONG, BUT IF YOU READ THIS FAR THANK YOU FOR BEING AN ENJOYER!!!! And drink some water, you're dehydrated you fucking amazing dewdrop angel baby
HAVE A GOOD TIMEZONE!!!

I got my best friend to watch OPLA, she's on episode 6 and here are some updates:
She's a Sanji girlie, which she was worried was a hot take. She'll go through the 5 stages of grief once she learns how much of a gremlin he becomes in the animanga
She also thinks Luffy is attractive ("a good man"), not the first of my friends to think so. I blame Iñaki Godoy.
Her initial reaction to the crew was that Zoro and Nami should date, an actual hot take, I love it
She was extremely appreciative of Kaya and Nami bonding, so she will probably be very disappointed in the animanga sexism/boy-centrism, if she ever gets into the series
She was very happy when I told her Nami isn't the only female crewmember
She was shocked and appalled to learn that people are horny for Buggy, but surprised and delighted when I told her that he becomes very important (while remaining a cringefail loser)
She thinks I'm weird for being in love with Mihawk, the goddamn traitor
I just know she's going to fall in love with Robin in s2

Sweet dreams (part 1)
Tumblr media
Usopp x reader. This is part one of two. This fic is dedicated to the lovely @ushoppu.
Neru means to sleep in Japanese - or at least I hope!
*****
There were three things Usopp was sure of, enough to bet his life on it.
First: three months after meeting her, he had a huge, undeniable crush on (name).
Second: if he did not declare his feelings soon, he would end up losing his mind.
Third: today was his chance.
At the very least, it had to be. Usopp had found out he was terrible at hiding his feelings, especially when (name) was involved. He had attempted to impress her with his stories, even more grandiose and absurd than those he had once recounted to Kaya, and only ended up making a fool of himself; also, for some puzzling reason, every time he did something with her, talked to her or even just found himself in her proximity, Usopp started stammering and became much more awkward and clumsy than he usually was - like the several plates he had let fall and break on the floor once that he and the object of his passion were helping Sanji clean up after dinner one day could attest.
Not that (name) had any fault for his behaviour; brave and strong-willed, she was also a kind, friendly girl, who never made fun of or criticised any of his shortcomings, but who always seemed interested in whatever Usopp did or said, and appeared to appreciate his company. They had become close friends in the three months since she had joined the crew; whether (name) would be interested in him as more than that, Usopp had no idea, but after dwelling on the matter for more than one sleepless night, and having noticed another man flirting with the girl on the last island the crew had made a stop on (fortunately she had ignored him, but the event had been enough to make Usopp realise that the girl might not remain single forever) he had decided it was time to make his move, if only to stop making a fool of himself every time he approached her. He would tell (name) he liked her, he really really did, and then perhaps he would discover his feelings were reciprocated… or perhaps they were not, and (name) would tell him she’d rather they remained good friends.
Which would be disappointing, but still better than nothing.
Fortunately, today the Straw Hat crew had set anchor in what was widely considered one of the most beautiful islands of the Sea, as well as a popular destination for couples’ holidays and weddings. Such a romantic place was probably the perfect place for his declaration, or at least, Usopp sincerely hoped, it would convince (name) to grant him at least one date, and consequently the opportunity to show her what an affectionate and attentive and protective boyfriend he could be. Usopp was ready to give his best shot: he had washed his hair, put on a new shirt, and even stolen some cologne from Sanji’s cabin; when he joined his friends on the deck to go ashore, his heart was beating hard enough in his chest he was sure the others could hear it.
Then he realised (name) was absent.
The day was relatively cold but clear, not a cloud threatening the almost blinding azure of the sky as the five young pirates gathered on the deck, the island’s little harbour behind them. Nami, standing near her beloved tangerine trees, was the first to speak. “Alright, we can go; if someone gets lost…” she started, glancing significantly at Zoro, who ignored her “We’ll meet here tonight. As far as I know there are no Marine bases on the island, but newspapers are delivered here, so let’s all be on our guard in case someone recognises Luffy.”
The small crew’s captain smiled proudly, as usual when someone mentioned his bounty; he took Usopp’s arm under his. “Right! Let’s go explore this island!” he exclaimed, but the sniper hesitated, glancing anxiously at the door behind him, the one closer to the girls’ cabin.
“Are we not waiting for (name)?”
“Oh, she’s not coming.”
“What?!”
Nami shrugged, as if to express that the decision had not been hers. “I thought she would come as well as usual, but she said that since we now have the treasure, it would be wise to keep one person on the ship at all times, in case a thief or another crew tries taking it.”
“We should take turns, then.” Sanji mentioned.
“That’s what I told her; but (name) said she was fine with staying the whole day, I don’t know why. Perhaps she has a book she wants to finish reading.”
(name) was an avid reader, regularly taking advantage of the Merry’s small library and buying new books on almost every island they docked at; Usopp respected that, as well as her commitment to keep their treasure safe given the fact she had provided them with the chance to acquire it. On the other hand, that was probably the worst occasion the girl could have chosen to have a day in…
Or maybe not?
“Well, we’ll bring her some food from the market.” Luffy said, clearly disappointed (name) would not join them but determined to enjoy the outing nonetheless “Let’s go, I wanna see what’s good to do around here…”
Usopp cleared his voice. “I think I’ll stay behind as well.” he said.
“What? Why?”
“Well, there are a few things I wanted to do… I’m building a new slingshot, and… I think I’m coming down with a cold, I’d better stay in for today…”
He was blabbering, and even though his dark complexion should have made it harder for his friends to see he was blushing, Usopp was sure Luffy and the others would easily see through his words; and indeed, a moment later he saw Zoro grin, while Sanji and Nami exchanged an amused glance.
“That’s good; you and (name) can keep each other company.” Luffy said. Usopp wondered whether his captain had also perceived his real intentions in deciding to remain on the Merry, or actually thought he was just worried for his health “Take care of the ship, you two.”
Usopp promised he -I mean, we- would; he looked at his friends departing towards the harbour, waving their hands and wishing him good luck for your new girlfriend - I mean, weapon, and hoped that good fortune was indeed on his side.
He returned below deck and, struck with inspiration, he reached the ship’s kitchen to prepare two cups of tea, choosing (name)’s favourite blend; he surely wasn’t as good as Sanji’s, but he hoped she’d appreciate it nonetheless. He’d knock on her cabin, and say Hey, I didn’t feel like going out either, wanna do something? Maybe we can fish, and… there is something important I wanted to talk to you about…
But (name) wasn’t in her cabin; Usopp found out when, after knocking for a while, and hearing no sound coming from inside the room, he opened the door just a little, and found it empty. Where could she have gone? To the toilet, perhaps? He could wait for her to return, hopefully before the tea got cold…
And finally (name) did return; Usopp saw her striding along the corridor, a determined expression on her pretty face. She stopped abruptly seeing him, clearly caught by surprise.
“Usopp… what are you doing here?” she asked; for a moment the sniper had the impression she was not happy to see him, at all “I thought you had left with the others?”
“W-well…” he stammered, forcing himself to swallow before quickly thinking back to the excuse he had used with the others only a few minutes before “I decided to stay in to work on my new weapon… and I made some tea for both! It is jasmine tea, your favourite.”
“Oh! Wow, I didn’t…”
For a few seconds, (name) clearly struggled to decide how to react; then, finally and to the huge relief of Usopp, she smiled. “That was very kind of you. I really appreciate it.”
“Don’t mention. What do you have there?” he asked, noticing her right fist was closed around something “Is that… the key to the warehouse?”
The warehouse was actually a small, windowless room near the stern of the ship, that the crew had mainly used to store provisions, sails that needed to be repaired and whatever they thought they would need one day but wanted to keep out of the way; in the last week, their treasure had also been kept there, the only key in Nami’s possession.
At least, Usopp had thought it was. “What are you doing with it?” he asked, his tone devoid of any accusation or suspicion; nevertheless, (name) seemed to blush.
“I… I thought we should get an idea of how much the treasure is worth, since we may need to begin spending some of it soon.” she explained in the end “Obviously I have asked for Luffy’s permission, and Nami gave me the key.”
“I see.” Usopp said, impressed; they had all celebrated finding the treasure, but until that day no one had thought about checking its actual value, even though the content of the chest was literally everything they owned and without it, they would soon find themselves starving “Well, if you want I can help you.”
(name) smiled. “I’d really like that, Usopp; thank you.”
They walked to the storage room, located at the end of the corridor; having unlocked the door, (name) placed the key on a table, while Usopp did the same with the two cups of tea.
The large chest they had retrieved from its hiding place a week ago was at the back of the room, hidden behind a pile of wooden planks; it was heavy enough that the two young pirates had to pull it together closer to the lantern on the wall, the only source of light in the room. Usopp opened the lid, and smiled at the sight in front of him, the inside of the chest filled to the brim of coins and precious stones.
“I bet there are enough berrys in here to pay Luffy’s bounty.”
“I’d rather not put it like that, but I think you’re right.” (name) said, and smiled “Before we make sure, I thought we had a drink to enjoy.”
They sat cross-legged on the floor, their knees brushing against each other; (name) took a sip from her cup, and smiled appreciatively. “Usopp, this is delicious! Jasmine tea is my favourite, but this is especially well-prepared. Did you ask Sanji to teach you?”
“I didn’t; I must have a talent for it.” he confessed, proud of himself; a moment later, though, his smile dimmed “I… I used to make tea for my mom; she was sick, too sick for doctors or medicines to help her, but she liked tea, just like you, and I thought that somehow, if I made it exactly like she wanted, like she preferred it… it might help. It didn’t, of course, but it made me feel less useless.”
“I’m sure your mom appreciated your help, even more than the tea.” (name) gently said. She took his hand in hers, a chaste, comforting contact that filled Usopp’s heart with tenderness; so many years after she had passed, talking about his mother was still painful for him, but Usopp was happy to have shared that intimate memory with (name).
“Luffy told me your dad is part of Red-Haired Shanks’ crew.” she said after a while as they enjoyed their tea, a quiet, vaguely romantic intimacy having filled the dark room.
“He is! One day I’m gonna meet him, and by that time I’ll have become a great pirate as well.” Usopp said excitedly; he was proud of his father, and all he wanted was for Yasopp to be proud of him as well, of how stronger and resourceful he had become “What about you? Do you have a family somewhere?”
(name) thought about it for a while, her eyes following the sway of the lantern on the wall. The girl had already been on her own, travelling the world, when she had met Luffy and the others, and Usopp had never heard her talking about her childhood or her parents “Well, I have a father, technically speaking, even though we have never lived together; he preferred his other family, with his older children and the wife he had already been married to when he started seeing my mother.” she said in the end, her tone only marginally bitter “And my mom still lives in the town I was born in.”
“Are the two of you close?”
“Not as close as I wish; but I know she loves me, and one day I’ll see her again, I’m sure.”
A smile passed between them; no matter how determined he was to tell her how beautiful and amazing he thought she was, and how much he liked her, Usopp found he liked simply sitting with her, talking and pretending no one else existed but them.
Unfortunately moments like those rarely lasted, and after a while (name), having enjoyed her tea to the last drop, stood and offered her hand to Usopp to help him do the same.
“Let’s take care of our treasure, shall we?”
She seemed excited, even anxious about it, which was perhaps to be expected, since she had been the one to propose they looked for the treasure. One day, roughly a week before, she had mentioned a story she had heard previously, about a neighbouring island -actually, nothing more than a rock in the middle of a particularly dangerous stretch of sea- where a precious treasure was said to have been hidden, guarded by some kind of monsters. On hearing the story Luffy’s face had immediately lit up, the others hadn’t even tried to dissuade him, and their young captain had immediately decided they would make the treasure theirs - which they had, even though the crew had been lucky to escape with their lives, since the rumours about the presence of monstrous guardians were true. After all, searching for and finding treasures was what pirates did, and the whole crew had celebrated their first success, not to mention the fact they now had a way to support themselves.
Usopp and (name) got to work, deciding at first to assess how much money the chest actually contained; they spread the coins on the room’s floor in piles, and found out they did have enough to pay for their captain’s bounty, and then some.
“Thirty-two million three thousand fifty berries; that’s quite a sum.” Usopp happily considered as he wrote, having retrieved a pen and a notepad from his cabin to keep count “And we also have the gems!”
“I have no idea how much these are worth.” (name) confessed, admiring what seemed to be a ruby almost bigger than her hand, her feet surrounded by other precious stones “But I bet it’s a lot. We’ll have to find a bank or a rich merchant to exchange them, and hope we don’t get ripped-off.”
“We’ll find a way; at least we have enough money to eat and repair the ship if we need to. Oh, there is still something…”
A lone object, almost invisible in the relative darkness of the room, laid on the bottom of the chest; Usopp retrieved it, looking curiously at the trinket now in his hands.
It was not another gem; it didn’t look particularly precious either. Roughly as large as his hand, the statuette seemed to be made of marble or another heavy rock, and it was carved in the shape of an elephant, its trunk raised and a tiny gem placed in each of its orbits.
Strangely enough, even though its position and the lack of windows kept the room’s temperatures low and the statuette had been hidden at the bottom of the chest for days, untouched, the little elephant was warm, just like the teacup had been in Usopp’s hands half an hour before.
It was pretty, Usopp considered as he observed the statuette and tried to assess its value, unaware of how (name)’s eyes had focused on him, and on it, the sort of trinket one could keep on display on a shelf or use as a sentimental gift, but he doubted it was worth much. Perhaps they could find a lover of stone baubles, or a fan of elephants, who would be willing to buy it…
“That’s cute.” (name) murmured quietly as she approached.
“I agree. If you like it I bet the others would let you keep it, I doubt we could get even a few berries out of it…”
She didn’t answer; had Usopp looked at her right then, he would have seen how tense and worried she was, and the sadness that filled her eyes. He did not, too busy wondering why such an uninteresting and -at least apparently- valueless object was part of the same treasure as heaps of gems and enough money to ransom the most powerful pirate in the East Blue, but Usopp blinked when an hand entered his field of vision to gently but firmly take the elephant statuette from his grasp and place it on a crate nearby.
“What…?”
(name)’s hand took his as the girl lowered them both on the floor; Usopp had always thought she had lovely eyes, brighter than any of the gems spread around them, but now there was something in her gaze he had never seen… an emotion that was determination and sadness and shame all in one. “(name), what…?”
“Usopp, can I tell you something?” she murmured; a moment later, as in a dream, he felt her hand rest on his cheek, their thighs now pressed against each other. Usopp felt a wash of heat filling him; they had never been so close, especially not when alone, and there was something different, new in her… a sort of sweet, vaguely shy but intense desire he had no name for but that he knew perfectly, having felt the same for months…
“Y-yes?”
She took a deep breath. “I… I like you. I really really do, much more than you usually do with friends. I think I have cared for you since the day we first met, and just being close to you is enough to make me happy. I think you’re amazing, clever, kind, and… and very handsome. I… I have never felt this way before…”
She looked at Usopp under her eyelashes, shyly waiting for his reaction, but he didn’t have one to give; it was as if his brain had stopped working.
“Usopp? Oh, Gods, I’m sorry, this is… so inappropriate…”
“Are you serious?”
“W-what?”
“Do you really mean it?” he insisted; he knew that was not the sort of declaration one uttered lightly, not to mention (name) would not play with his feelings with the intent of hurting him, but he couldn’t believe it: he had hoped that day he would find the courage to declare his affection, but receiving that sort of confession himself was… was beyond his wildest and most ambitious dreams!
“Y-yes. Yes, of course I mean it, and I hoped… you would feel the same…”
His heart was singing. He looked at (name), still embarrassed but hopeful his feelings would be reciprocated, and for a moment Usopp was so overcome with emotion he was unable to speak.
Fortunately, it passed.
“This is the happiest moment of my life.” he whispered, and he saw the happiest, most relieved smile ever open on the face of the girl in front of him.
“Really? I’ve always thought… you look uncomfortable when we are together…”
“Of course! (name), you are… you are amazing! I’ve liked you since the first day, and I was not uncomfortable; it was just that you are so sweet and beautiful, any time I tried talking to you I ended up making a fool of myself.” Usopp confessed; he gently took her hand in both of his, and swore to himself he would never let it go “The truth is… I stayed on the ship today in order to talk to you; I wanted to tell you how much I liked you, but you beat me to it. I… I don’t really know what love is, that sort of love at least, but I think you might be the one to teach me.”
“Oh… oh, Usopp…”
For a whole minute they simply stared at each other, hand in hand, too overwhelmed with emotion to speak. Usopp swallowed, suddenly wondering whether it would be too… too forward to try and kiss her, but suddenly he saw something change in the expression of the girl in front of him… a sudden sadness filling her eyes, the melancholy of someone who remembered a past happiness that was lost forever.
And at the same time he started feeling weird; tired, in a sense, even though it was still early afternoon and he had slept just fine the night before - not to mention that, excited as he was, he should have felt more awake than ever. He was not; in fact, strangely, he suddenly felt… drowsy, even sleepy, as if his last rest dated back to a week before…
“Believe me when I say I am sorry, from the bottom of my heart.”
“(name), what…?”
And then her face was much closer to his, close enough Usopp could feel her breath on his face; he gulped, already anticipating what would happen in a moment, but even then, he felt an unexpected, unshakeable wave of sleepiness wash over him. What was happening to him?, he wondered vaguely, his mind already struggling to form coherent thoughts, this was not normal, he was fine two seconds ago and he had not exerted himself to the point of needing to rest in the middle of the day; there was something strange going on, something he could not…
“May I?”
… explain…
A moment later, (name)’s cool lips pressed against his. She used a scented lipstick, Usopp had heard her mention to Nami once, but the only taste he could perceive at the moment was hers, and it was the sweetest, most delicious thing he had ever experienced. He moaned softly, eagerly returning the kiss, but when he tried to raise his hand to caress her hair, he found out he couldn’t; his eyes were closing, not for an instinctive impulse to let him focus on the heavenly sensation of (name)’s mouth on his, but rather because he simply didn’t have the strength to keep them open…
Oh, Gods; he was going to fall asleep while he and the girl he had pined after for months shared their first kiss. Usopp didn’t think he could survive the shame, not to mention even the most devoted woman would get offended, but more than embarrassed, he was startled, because this was not normal, something weird was happening to him, he was falling asleep, maybe to never wake up again…
He felt (name)’s hands rest on his shoulders, ready to support him.
“I… I can’t…”
“I’m so sorry, Usopp.” she murmured, and he wanted to ask why, for what, but he didn’t have the time. He fell forward, and by the time (name) had supported him and laid him down on the floor he was already fast asleep.
*
You wonder for a moment if it would be appropriate to take a blanket from your room to cover him with, since the room is relatively cold, but you have no time to waste, since you don’t even know yet whether there are regular ferries to Koa and you need at all costs to be there before midnight.
You stand with a sigh to walk to the crate, and retrieve the object you are doing all of this for; the small marble elephant looks harmless, even uninteresting as you turn it in your hands, but it feels strangely warm, as if it had been stored in a furnace instead than at the bottom of a chest. Whether this is due to the magical powers the statuette is purported to possess, or it is just your imagination, you don’t know and even less you care; the only important thing, that you hope and have ceaselessly prayed for weeks, is that it will help you - that it will be enough to do what is now now more important for you than anything else.
Even more important than your own feelings; even more important than the shame of hurting and breaking the heart of a person who has done nothing to deserve such a treatment, but rather who has always been kind and friendly to you, and who now you know shares and reciprocates your affection.
You contemplate Usopp’s unmoving form at your feet, laying on his side with an arm bent under his cheek; he sleeps soundly, apparently deep in a pleasant dream given the faint smile on his lips. This is the easiest way, the only way, you could have done it; he will sleep profoundly for at least ten hours, or until the others return and wake him up, which won’t happen before the end of the day, and by that time you’ll be far away, hopefully having used the statuette as you were asked to do. You couldn’t tell him and the others what you needed to do; after all they have told you the deal would be off if you didn’t come alone, and you would never be able to forgive yourself if your friends got hurt.
You need to go now, and any moment you waste is one she could get hurt, but no matter how worried you are for her sake, you can’t stop looking at Usopp, at his chocolate-coloured skin and braided hair, feeling at the same time on cloud nine for the sweet moment you have just shared, and heartbroken at the thought you are going to lose him forever. Confessing how much you care for him only served to unnecessarily complicate things, as well as probably to make him feel even worse when he’ll wake up and realise you have left, but you couldn’t help it: your feelings for Usopp have never ceased growing since you first met, and as you struggled to hide how scared you were for her and realised you might have to leave the friends you had quickly grown fond of soon, the only moments you felt completely at ease, even happy, in were the ones he was with you, with his sweet smile and ridiculous tales.
And now you’re going to lose him forever. You don’t know whether Usopp is the One -truth to be told, you’re not even sure you believe in soulmates to begin with- but what he said about discovering what it means to be in love by meeting you touched your heart… not to mention you feel exactly the same. You still know each other too little to make plans for the future, but you could have been happy together; and you know you’ll keep him in your heart forever, as well as the kindness and affection of the best friends you have ever had.
For the first time, after three months of fear and having spent days agonising about what to do, you feel anger - anger at the bastards who not only have kidnapped her, which is horrible enough already, but have also forced you to take responsibility for it and to betray your friends. You had been travelling for two years on your own before meeting Luffy and the others and you were perfectly happy with your life, but those five young pirates have quickly become a second family for you, the brothers and sister you never had and always wished for; you already miss them terribly, and you don’t even want to know what they will think of you for abandoning the crew without telling the other and after having neutralised -non violently- one of your crewmates.
They might despise, and even hate you; you accept it, because you can’t do otherwise, and keeping her safe is worth whatever sacrifice you might be asked, but at the same time you can’t help mourning what you are about to lose… especially Usopp, who has opened your heart to feelings you had only heard expressed in love songs, and makes your heart beat faster every time he smiles at you.
His notepad is on the floor, the page covered by Usopp’s tiny, spidery handwriting; you turn it, wondering for a moment about what to write, and in the end you decide that while it would be tempting to explain why you are leaving the crew, you can’t risk them running after you to help. You might not be a member of the Straw Hats anymore, but the last thing you want is for them to get hurt.
In the end, the only thing you write is DON’T LOOK FOR ME; before you can stop yourself, you add a tiny heart on the page, then place the notepad back on the floor. You retrieve the elephant statuette as you still look at Usopp, wondering if he will hate you as well.
“I’m so sorry.” you murmur, too low for him to hear, and then turn to walk out of the room as you force yourself to stop sobbing.
*
“Usopp, wake up!”
“Are you sure he’s alright? Maybe we should look for a doctor…”
“He’s asleep, not sick. I’ll fill a bucket with water, that’ll do the trick…”
“Shut up, all of you! Usopp, can you hear me? Can you open your eyes?”
He tried, still partially asleep and as a huge yawn escaped his lips, finding his crewmates gathered in a circle around him, their faces expressing various degrees of worry and perplexity.
“Usopp, are you alright? Where is (name)?” Luffy asked. The sniper didn’t immediately answer; he felt as if he had slept for a month, a slumber deep enough to border on coma.
“I need coffee.” he mumbled.
“What? Usopp, it’s almost dinnertime…”
He could not stop yawning. “Please. I need a cup of coffee - wait, make it two. Wait, make it two mugs of it - I think I’ll never wake up completely again…”
But wake up he did, after drinking the coffee Sanji had poured for him in the largest cup of his arsenal, and then sticking his face under the kitchen sink to let freezing water pour on it.
By that time, the others were still waiting for an explanation, but Nami had checked (name)’s part of their cabin and reported her backpack had disappeared, together with a few clothes and other essentials, and the latest book she had bought.
“Where has she gone? Didn’t the two of you have to talk and stuff?” Luffy asked; in the meantime, the others had retrieved the notepad from the floor, openly staring at the brief but determined message written on it.
“She’s gone.” Usopp murmured; still groggy after the deep sleep (name) had plunged him into, he felt heart-broken, fully convinced that the girl had taken advantage of his affection to neutralise him and… what? Why had she done that? And how? “We were here, she told me you guys had given her permission to enter to check the treasure, we counted the money together, and then we… we started talking, and she…”
He couldn’t say it. The shame was too deep. He had actually thought she cared…what an idiot he had been!
“... she touched me, and I suddenly felt sleepy, like I hadn’t slept for a month or someone had hit me on the head, it wasn’t normal! And the last thing I remember is her saying she was sorry…”
The five young pirates shared a look, all of them both perplexed by the behaviour of their crewmate and instinctively worried for her, before Nami handed Usopp the notepad, the page turned to the one he had written. “Check if something is missing.” she urged him.
Usopp obliged, quickly examining the heaps of coins and precious gems on the floor, and assessing the situation was the same as before his long nap.
“She didn’t take anything.” he summarised, completely bewildered; he had instinctively thought (name) had put him to sleep (how?!) to then steal the whole treasure and disappear, but the truth seemed to suggest the opposite. Usopp, still in the dark regarding the girl’s motives, felt guilty for immediately assuming the worst “I don’t understand…”
“Unfortunately she has; and given the fact she has taken her things, I don’t think she plans on returning.”
“Well, wherever she has gone, she clearly doesn’t want to be found.” Zoro pointed out, nodding towards the short message on the notepad “Did she tell you guys she had friends around here? Someone she could have gone to meet?”
The others shook their heads. “I don’t understand.” Luffy murmured; he seemed shaken, as if he had seen (name) being dragged away, even though all seemed to suggest the girl had left out of her own free will “She wouldn’t leave us, she is one of us…”
“No, I don’t accept it! Maybe she was afraid for some reason, or she had something important to do…”
He looked at Usopp, silently asking for his opinion and support, but the sniper had neither to give; he opened his arms helplessly, but a moment later his eyes fell on something Nami was silently pointing at on the notepad page (name) had written.
It was a heart, tiny but enough to make a sob escape Usopp’s lips; he pressed a hand to his mouth, for a moment struggling to control his emotions as panic mounted inside him.
“We have to find her.” he said earnestly “I don’t know what she has done to me, or why, but she didn’t do it to steal or hurt us. She seemed sad, maybe Luffy is right, maybe there is someone who-who has threatened her…”
The others agreed the matter was worthy of investigation; whatever reason had led (name) to run away, and the fact that she had been part of the crew the least time of them all, she was one of them, and they all wanted at least to make sure she was safe.
“How can we find her, though?” Sanji pointed out “We don’t know anyone on the island, and if she has left hours ago, by this time she could be anywhere.”
The others explained to Usopp they had been forced to return to the ship sooner than expected, having caught wind of a Marines expedition being headed to the island.
They decided to begin searching immediately; Usopp was about to follow the others out of the warehouse, too worried for (name) to think about putting back the heaps of coins and gems inside the chest, when suddenly he realised something was missing: the tiny marble elephant, that he remembered the girl had placed on a crate before leading him to sit on the floor with her to - and here Usopp felt himself blushing again.
The statuette had disappeared; he quickly checked around the room to make sure. Of all the riches at her fingertips, (name) had only taken that apparently valueless trinket before running away. Why? Was the tiny elephant actually precious in some way, and the girl had stolen it to sell it and keep the money for herself? It was a reasonable explanation, after all (name) had been the one to mention the treasure to the others, but something in Usopp’s heart told him the truth was more complicated than that.
“Usopp! What are you doing?” Luffy urged him from the room’s door “Let’s go, we have to find (name)!”
Having no way of knowing whether the girl had gone into the island looking for something or someone, or rather she had sailed away, the crew decided to first check at the harbour.
Sunset was still hours away; Usopp thought for a moment how nice it would have been to admire it as he and (name) walked hand in hand, smiling softly at each other and oblivious to the rest of the world, countless kisses still warm on their lips.
The harbour was lively despite its diminutive size, the song of the backwash filling the air. Sailors moved to and fro to load a cargo, checked the passengers disembarking or took care of the upkeep of their vessels; none of the ships flew the Marines’ flag, which was reassuring, but they all knew they had to leave as soon as possible in any case. Zoro, Sanji and Nami spread to talk to the owners of the few boats docked at the wharf, while Luffy followed Usopp to the small building that housed the office of the harbourmaster, who they met as he locked the door behind him.
“You’ll have to return tomorrow, boys, I am done for the day.”
“We just need an information, sir.” Usopp said as he stood in front of the -older, taller, much bigger- man to stop him from leaving “We are looking for a friend of ours who might have asked you about ships for some islands around here.”
“No one asked me anything today; I was too busy with paperwork.” the man explained with a sigh; he seemed anxious to leave “I need to go home, now.”
“Please, it’s very important; our friend is roughly our age, this tall, with (colour) hair…”
“I really don’t know what to tell you; perhaps this girl spoke directly to the captain of a boat bound for the place she had to reach. This sort of transaction doesn’t really concern my office, so I have no way of knowing…”
“How do you know it was a girl?” Luffy intervened.
“... sorry?”
“”He said we were looking for our friend.” the young captain pointed out “But you knew already this person was a girl and not a guy; you called her she. You saw her, didn't you?”
The man bit his lip; he looked embarrassed, and clearly unhappy at having been exposed.
“Please.” Usopp insisted; he had never been so worried for anyone since… well, since his mother had started falling sick “We have reason to think our friend might be in danger, that someone might want to hurt her; tell us where she went.”
The harbourmaster yielded, and told them a girl matching (name)’s description had approached him as he took a smoke break out of the office to ask for a passage to a tiny island called Koa, not far from there. The man had attempted to warn her, since Koa was infamous as the den of a dangerous band of criminals, but she didn’t seem worried - nor surprised, in fact; no captain would accompany her to Koa and wait there while she attended to her business and then bring her back, but the harbourmaster had introduced her to someone who had then lent the girl a rowing boat so that she could go by herself.
“How far is Koa from here?”
“With your ship? Thirty minutes at most.”
The harbourmaster pointed them to the right direction, and rummaged in his pocket to take something he then offered Usopp.
It was a banknote, folded on the long side as he knew (name) did with her money.
“Your friend paid me to keep my mouth shut on her destination; she knew someone would look for her.” the man explained; he didn’t seem particularly proud of himself for having accepted the deal “Whatever the reason she had to go to Koa, it had to be very important. I really hope you find her.”
Usopp hoped the same. A moment later, he and Luffy were running towards the wharf, calling their friends to tell them they knew where (name) had gone.

One piece headcanons I have not because I think are true or important, but because everything will be just a little bit funnier (or just more fun) if they were true, but they get less and less pg with each one:
Luffy has eaten worms on a dare as a kid and would do it in the blink of an eye in present days as well (he also thinks it's funny)
The first time Robin and Nami have "girl time", just to do their nails, or hair, or dress up cute, she almost cried from how nice it felt to have that
Usopp draws a lot but never shows his art because he has confidence issues, he sends Kaya some sketches whenever he can
Everyone thinks Luffy can't read, he can but he's very dyslexic and has severe adhd and he just can't bring himself to stay still longer than to read 2 sentence
Zoro is shortsighted, that's why he always gets lost and probably can't read, but no one knows because he never says anything and thinks that "everyone sees a little blurry it's fine"
Nami and Usopp gossip all the time, and I mean ALL the time and about everything and everyone
(↑bonus) Robin knows all the gossips but she mostly just listens, silently enjoying it
Sanji mispronounces some words because he's seen them only in books and because he's french and french people spell words in a very fucked up way (I've studied french for 4 years I have the right to slander it, sorry)
All the strawhats are at least a little in love with their captain and no one says anything but they all kinda know
Sanji can barely find pants that suit him because of how disproportionately big his leg muscles are
Luffy knows about sex and all that jazz from Ace, but with "censored" words because he was pretty young when they had "the talk" (like how he called his dick and balls his "family jewels" when he was on Amazon Lily Isla)
(speaking of) Ace had the most embarrassing conversation with Luffy after asking one of Ace's dates if they were one of his brother's "naked sleepover friends"
Robin would or at least would think about slapping Franky's ass on a daily basis
Brook wanted to try jacking off at least a couple of times but he wasn't sure how it would even work
Everytime the strawhats throws a big party to celebrate a victory with everyone they saved/helped, Zoro "accidentally" ends up in the middle of a random gay threesome

Transfem!Usopp coming out to the crew post time-skip and Nami's brain instantly goes "girlgirlgirlgirlgirl-" and now the best friendism she has with Usopp quickly turns into an uncontrollable crush and she has to deal with being extremely close to her without going into a lesbian panic every time. But the worst thing about this is that Sanji has also come out as a trans girl, which, okay, that's awesome for her! Nami didn't think she'd had any issues with that. But she starts being herself more and Nami sees her in a different light, and one day she brings a snack to Nami, kneeling in front of her dramatically, and when she thinks "... Pretty" is when she knows she's fucked. She can deal with having a crush on her best friend, but Sanji??? And turns out Sanji and Usopp are also dating, too, so it would be like getting in between their relationship. So she's having a whole crisis about this and the only one who knows is Robin, not because Nami told her but because it's extremely obvious. But the thing is,, Sanji and Usopp in their private moments are always, always mentioning Nami somehow and maybe they kind of sort of perhaps have a crush on her too. So you have a couple pining over the same girl and Nami thinking she's a bit of a shitty person for this.

sanuso headcannons
highkey sadder than my zolu ones
Tumblr media
both are bi with a tendency towards women. both are attracted to men, but neither thought they would actually date a guy
usopp and kaya never really end up together at the end of the journey, the sea changed that village liar too much
sanji was always pushed around as a kid for being the soft one. the vinsmoke brothers laughed in his face when he mentioned to reiju that he might like boys and girls
usopp and sanji didn't really get close until after the whole arlong experience. honestly, usopp thought sanji was a pompous asshole even after the whole bartie incident and sanji thought usopp was a coward who shouldn't be on the seas
after the fight with arlong, usopp came to appreciate sanji's loyalty and sanji came to appreciate his wits
after retrieving nami, the crew talks a little about their homes in east blue, leaving sanji as an outcast from north blue
it was during a late night with usopp coming in for a midnight snack after watch that sanji mentions his vinsmoke past. he doesnt offer much detail, but more hints that his childhood was cruel with siblings and a father who hated everything about him.
"i don't know why im telling you this" "it's because no one will believe the liar"
since then, the two became a little closer and usopp moved his mini workshop into the galley. often they work in comfortable silence, enjoying the others' presence. no words are needed between the two, but they become dependent on the others' sanity
it was somewhere between entering the grandline and recruiting chopper that the two begin to date
during alabasta, Mr. Prince becomes the later inspiration for Sogeking. Usopp admires the persona that Mr. Prince represents and it was only natural to model his courage and bravery after Sanji
sanji loves going shopping for groceries with the sniper, usopp knows a surprising amount of rare spices and herbs
unlike luffy and zoro, the two are much much much more subtle about their relationship, keeping it under wraps. its not until late that nami and robin figure it out
after sanji is shocked by eneru, almost dying, usopp really realizes that maybe he shouldnt have taken those quiet nights on merry for granted. it was during that last night of celebrations that the two hid briefly away in merry, sharing a kiss and getting caught by robin's wandering eyes
their relationship often is spent in quiet moments in the galley and subtle signs like favorite foods or quick inventions for the kitchen
usopp fighting luffy and leaving the crew tore an instant rift in their relationship; "do i mean nothing to you?"
still, sanji found usopp after the fight and took care of him, cooking him food and not letting him starve on the street. they decided to cut off the relationship before it began... better for them to move on with their dreams than cause leftover pain
sanji's heart just about stopped when he saw sogeking and hearing that funny deep voice of his made him just about cry
after enies lobby, the two got back together, never quite repaired, but willing to heal those wounds
they reveal their relationship in the first few nights on the brand new sunny go
thriller bark was a whirlwind of an adventure and sanji couldn't be more proud of usopp's victory over perona
once kuma separated the crew, the two worked extremely hard to become stronger not only for the crew, but for each other. sanji going to kamabakka kingdom and eventually talking to iva-chan honestly made sanji question himself even more
usopp worked extra hard to turn into the man he imagined himself to be. working to be muscular and strong at least in appearance... and becoming more brave than he was before
reuniting in sabody was short and rushed... it wasn't until they settled in fishman island that they two actually got a chance to be alone.
seeing fishman island reminded usopp how small he really is in the world. sanji's bright eyes looking at the bubbles below them reminded him of home and east blue, but also of the uncertainty of the tides
however, the rose colored glasses shattered once sanji practically died from seeing mermaids. this left usopp unsure about his own position in their relationship, feeling ugly, inadequet, and undesireable
usopp ends it with sanji shortly after that with no explaination. he refused to talk to sanji unless it was needed. he ended up taking a backseat in the crew. they weren't the same quiet teenages that would sit in the galley anymore. this was the new world, they needed to grow up
usopp spend punk hazaard and the interlude of dressrosa not speaking to sanji, unless needed. their fight is a partial reason why the crew splits up to pursue different goals
it isn't until after sanji goes missing back to the vinsmokes that usopp reconsiders his stance. when he hears the news all he could think of is that innocent sanji back in east blue, talking about his disowned family back in north blue
after they retrieve sanji from wholecake and practically declare war on the world, all usopp can do is hug the cook and apologize for everything
the two end up giving it a second chance, restarting as "new people" in the form of wano
and that's all for now, honestly, my hope is that they end up going back to east blue together, owning the baratie and visiting syrup village... I think usopp would love the balance between the sea and home... but who knows with these two. I love their relationship so much, I feel like its so real and so traumatic. these two are the most emotional of the straw hats, in my opinion. lot of trauma here
I absolutely can't wait to see the upcoming arcs and hopefully a little more sanuso <3

Time, Calendars & Dates in the World of One Piece
Tumblr media
Have you ever wondered when One Piece takes place? Wanted to take a look at a timeline but knew you'd be bombarded with spoilers? Then this is the place for you! I'll be talking about both the anime/manga and the live action, because they differ by a few months.
First things first: The months stay the same! One year consists of twelve months with the same number of days as in our Gregorian Calendar. It's never explicitly confirmed if they're also called January, February etc. but characters' birthdays are listed as (for examle) May 5th by Oda himself. Maybe it's out of convenience, maybe they're actually called the same, who knows. But you can list your characters' birthdays the same as you would if they were born on Earth. Also, the world of One Piece has multiple moons, but the main moon (which is also usually the only one pictured) most likely has either the same or very smilar moon phases to our moon here on Earth.
But now for the a little more complicated part: Which year are we in? Well, we can't tell for sure, but we can make assumptions.
Regarding what calendar the One Piece verse goes by, there are two calendar systems. One is the Age of Heaven and one is the Age of the Sea Circle. The Age of Heaven only has very vague info on it available and we don't have any way of converting canon events into its calendar, so it's no use for our purposes here. However, the Age of the Sea Circle has one confirmed year that we can use to roughly calculate everything else. It comes from an explorer's logbook dated 1120. We know that the events described in this logbook happened roughly 400 years before the Straw Hats travel the seas, so we can declare that the main story of One Piece takes place in the 16th century.
From then on, it's guesswork. A lot of people, myself included, assume that Gold Roger died in the year 1500 so that the beginning of the Great Age of Pirates could be at the start of a new century. It would fit Oda as an author and it would fit Roger as a character, because he would be dramatic like that. He knew what he was doing when he got executed that day, and it's very obvious in the Live Action that he did. It'll become even more obvious later in the story, you'll see! Anyways: Because Gold Roger's execution happened 22 years before Luffy set out to sea at the beginning of the East Blue Saga, Luffy's journey would then start in the year 1522.
But we can get even more exact. At least in the Live Action. In the anime/manga, everything's a little blurry. All we know for sure is that Luffy sets out to sea either on or after his birthday on May 5th. From then on, it's all guesswork based on how many days we see pass in the story and how many may have passed.
In the Live Action, things are a lot easier, because we're explicitly told that it's Kaya's birthday on the day the Straw Hats arrive in Syrup Village. Kaya's birthday is confirmed to be August 24th, so the Straw Hats arrive at Syrup Village on August 24th 1522 in the Live Action.
So, now that we've declared where we are chronologically, here are some important birthdays according to the calculation I just explained:
The Straw Hats
Monkey D. Luffy: May 5th 1505 (17 years old, youngest Straw Hat)
Roronoa Zoro: November 11th 1502 (19 years old, oldest Straw Hat)
Nami: July 3rd 1504 (18 years old)
Usopp: April 1st 1505 (17 years old)
Sanji: March 2nd 1503 (19 years old)
Bonus Tumblr beloveds:
Shanks: March 9th 1485 (37 years old)
Mihawk: March 9th 1481 (41 years old - yes he shares his birthday with Sanks, I was just as surprised; what a wild day for the One Piece world)
Buggy: August 8th 1485 (37 years old)
I hope this little guide is helpful to you! Don't be shy to ask for any dates you'd like to know, I'll calculate them for you or make an estimate if they can't be pinned down.

10 Major Changes Fans Miss in Live One Piece
10. Sanji's Curly Eyebrow
Adapting animation is always a challenge given how much animation, especially One Piece, isn't restrained by the rules of reality. While Sanji's curly brow is hardly the most drastic visual change, not only was it his most unique identifying trait, but it would serve as the source of mockery in the frequent squabbles between Sanji and Zoro. Sanji did taunt Zoro with the iconic "Moss Head" in the series, but without his curly eyebrow, Zoro now provokes him by calling him a waiter, which Sanji has stated he never wants to be. (honestly I like this a little better)
9. Shoo Shoo the Dog
There’s a number of changes made to the Straw Hats fight with Buggy the clown, from shifting the location to a circus tent as opposed to running around the town, and we don’t have the impressive physical feat of Zoro carrying Luffy in a heavy cinder block cage while severely injured. But if there's one thing about One Piece that newcomers to the series won’t see coming, its that it has surprisingly devastating backstories, and that isn't limited to its main crew. During the fight they come across a dog named Chou Chou who doesn't move from the stoop of his owner’s pet food store as his owner has passed and he continues to guard it. The dog doesn’t even back down when the pirates pet lion wants to invade the store and gets viciously attacked defending the store in the process. His story greatly touches Luffy who delivered a massive beatdown to the lion. At least the lion was mentioned in passing.
8. Jango
In Syrup Village, it might have been terrifying enough to fight the Freddy Kruger-esque Kuro as he stalked our crew around Kaya's mansion, but in the original story they had to fight against A LOT more opponents. Not only did Kuro have an entire crew of black cat pirates that the entire crew fought on the beach rather than the house, he had a partner named Jango, the vibrantly-dressed moonwalker who was Kuro’s first mate and technically took over the black cat pirates when Kuro wanted to retire. In fact it leaves a gap in the Netflix show as Jango has the power of hypnotism and used those power to make Axe-Hand Morgan believe Kuro was dead. While Kuro was fighting Luffy and the others, Jango went after Kaya with the goal of getting her to sign over her inheritance to Kuro before he kills her. There is a wanted poster of him on the pirate board in Episode 1.
7. Sanji shows up a Snooty Customer
Sanji is introduced to the audience through a smooth but badass confrontation. A rich customer orders a fancy wine and describes to his date all the subtleties and flavors the wine, only for Sanji to reveal he switched the wines just to show his date he was a fraud. In retaliation the customer fakes there's something wrong with the soup, and when that doesn't get a rise he smashed the table and all the food on it. This brings out Sanji's berserker side as he breaks the table with his foot telling him to not waste food. This is given context later when he see how as a child, he nearly starved to death when the ship he was working on was shipwrecked.
Sanji also is much more smitten with Nami as he is stunned and then drawn to her from across the room. In contrast to the Netflix series, Nami flirts back in hopes of getting Sanji to give her free food.
6. Don Krieg attacks the Baratie
We do see Don Krieg briefly as he gets his fleet gets decimated by Mihawk. However in the manga he had a much bigger role. His crew member Gin that Sanji feeds at the Baratie is only the first one to arrive. Soon after, Don Krieg and the rest of his crew arrive, and they are all close to death due to starvation. Despite warnings Sanji feeds all of them, and after they've all regained their strength, Don Krieg declares he’s taking over the Baratie to take to the Grand Line, and there’s a long battle between his crew and Luffy and Sanji, This is separate from Zoro’s battle with Mihawk, who came to the Baratie to pursue Krieg, not Luffy.
5. Genzo’s Pinwheel
Technically, the sheriff of Cocoyashi village does have a pinwheel attached to his hat if you freeze frame, but for the purposes of the story it might as well be gone. When Bellemere first adopted Nami and Nojiko, Nami cried when she saw Genzo’s scary face, so he attached a pinwheel to his cap to make her laugh. He still wears it to this day. As the closest person to a father that Nami has, when she replaces the Arlong Pirate tattoo on her arm, the design she picks is inspired by a tangerine for her mother and a pinwheel for Genzo.
4. Hachi the Octopus Fishman
Hachi was one of Arlong’s fishman pirates, but in contrast to other his sinister minions, Hachi was an oblivious and endearing space case, who was ‘accidently’ tricked by Zoro into letting him go. This does not change much in the current story, however Hachi would be a recurring character later and even play a role in one of the biggest upsets of the series.
4. Zoro calls Nami’s bluff
After getting separated from the others and still wounded from his fight with Mihawk, Zoro is captured by the Arlong pirates. In contrast with the Netflix series where he insists Nami is a lost cause, in the manga Zoro is certain Nami is putting up a front. To prove it, he pushes himself into a nearby pool, and since he is tied up he can’t swim to save himself. Nami quickly dives in to save him, but punches him multiple times and imprisons him to keep up her act. Only a little time later, she unlocks his cell and tells him to get out.
2. Nami “Killing” Usopp
After saving Zoro puts her under suspicion, Arlong demands Nami show her loyalty to him by killing Usopp who wandered into his camp. Usopp protests she wouldn't do this, but Nami takes a knife and appears to stab Usopp in the stomach and drops him in the ocean. However it was merely a prop knife and berries to simulate blood, so Usopp is able to swim away and tell the others that Nami's betrayal is all an act.
1. The 4 Straw Hats March to Arlong Park
This is a quick moment that is ALMOST shown, we have the asymmetric shot of all 4 waiting for the call, but it is cut off before they all come together by an attack on Cocoyashi village. The image of the four other Straw Hats walking side by side up the road to Arlong to kick his ass is one of the most iconic shots of the entire first half of One Piece. It is the moment the group of them truly feel like unified crew with a common goal rather than a bunch of individuals that merely followed Luffy onto a boat.

Note
hi asking about ur Gross wip in the hopes that the song fic title is from the song i know that is titled “Gross” also 👀
if you are thinking penelope scott’s gross then you are thinking correct lol. kind of hoping you are - that song is one of my personal favorites hehe. kinda sad if it is - the original idea got warped into something WAY more fluffy than gross is, but never fear bc that song will return with its intended angst wether i have to force myself to write it or not.
anyways, you probably won’t have toooo much interest in it, seeing as it isn’t for sp. it’s a one piece (live action bc i love them) fanfic, because i am a liar and a fandom hopping fraud. I was scrolling through my yt shorts one day and stumbled upon that one “you dated brutal dictator of Nicaragua?!” meme and my brain went: “oh. i can do something with this. Small snippet under the cut ;P
REMINDER THAT THIS IS A WIP AND A ROUGH DRAFT AND THAT I KINDA SUCK AT WRITING OK OK GOOD NOW PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Sanji is washing the dishes, the rest of the crew sitting at the dining table conversing. He flits in and out of the conversation, adding bits here and there as he continues his task. The day is peaceful, and Sanji feels at rest.
Nami sits, legs crossed over the top of the chair next to her - Zoro’s - with the newspaper propped into her lap. Zoro sits in his chair, slouching against it and looking mildly annoyed at Nami’s legs at the back of his chair but not saying a word about it. Across the table is Usopp, tinkering on seas knows what, and Luffy, content in gnawing through a bundle of fish jerky Sanji made earlier that morning.
The breeze is light, floating through the open windows and door. The sunshine shines brightly through into the galley, and with the crew this docile together it’s, well… peaceful, like he’s said before.
Of course, that’s when they decide to throw the conversat into a depth Sanji is thoroughly avoiding, and has been since six months after… that.
“Usopp, how long were you and Kaya together?” Luffy asks, interrupting Usopp’s story - one about Kaya, and those were the closest you can get to the truth from him.
Usopp pauses at the words, face going slightly red as he sputters out a reply.
“W-Well, Luffy, the great captain Usopp speaks not of the mountains of women he’s conquered! It is not befitting to-“
“They weren’t together,” Nami says, looking at Usopp with an unsurprised look. “He’s too chicken for that.” With that, she turns her attention back to her newspaper, flipping the page and reading it off.
“Hey-!”
“Did you ever have someone like Usopp didn’t have Kaya?” Luffy asks, because the kid can’t read a room. Usopp lets out an offended noise, and Nami doesn’t even look up from the paper as she speaks next.
“Nope, no time for that.”
Luffy hums, looking over the table. He goes to speak, most likely to ask the question to Zoro, but the green-headed swordsman interrupts him.
“No, Luffy. That’s not my style. Why not ask cook?” Zoro’s tone turns from unamused to smug, and he smirks. He turns in his seat to face Sanji, who has gone back to vigorously scrubbing the plate in his hand as he hopes to be kept out of the conversation. “He’s seen the most people, he must have great stories.”
Sanji turns, sneering at Zoro, before he grabs the next plate and gets to scrubbing.
“Sanji! Tell me a story!” Luffy shouts from his spot, getting excited. Nami turns her attention from her newspaper, looking mildly intrigued. Sanji sighs.
“No. I gave you food, occupy yourself.” Sanji shouts over his shoulder, and Luffy pouts.
“C’mon, Sanji. You must have a good story for us.” Nami says, trying to bait him into it. Everyone turned to face him, Usopp and Luffy putting on their best puppy dog eyes in hopes for some entertainment. Sanji pauses his fish washing, considering before shaking his head and turning around.
“I’m sorry, Nami dearest, but there truly is nothing for me to discuss on this topic. There has been nobody of notice in that area of my life, and besides, a gentleman does not kiss and tell.” He says, using a tone of remorse. Nami quirks an eyebrow at him, face going from casual to interested.
“Was that a lie, Sanji-san?” Nami asks, face breaking out into an amused smirk.
Of fucking course the brilliant redhead would see through his lie. He sighs, admitting defeat.
“You truly are too clever for your own good, my swan.” He says, moving to the table and sitting in an empty seat. The other three males look at him with varying degrees of surprise - it is very out of character for Sanji to lie to the crew let alone Nami, a woman.
“Sanji, share!” Luffy whines, wanting to hear what could possibly be such a grandiose secret to Sanji that he’d hide it.
“Be quiet, Luffy, I’m thinking of where to start.”
“How about the beginning, curly.” Zoro says, and Sanji so wants to ring the other man’s throat for being so smug. Instead, he takes a deep breath.
“Alright,” Sanji exhales, grabbing at the pack of cigs in his pocket and the lighter sitting near them. He knows he’ll need a cigarette to get through this. “So this story starts about five years ago…”
