I love kenshi and of course im excited for kenshi 2 so I can have more, better kenshi. But Unironically I kind of really dislike how high fidelity and smooth everything I've seen of it is(the "hey guys we just switched our game to unreal engine look!" syndrome). Call me weird but I like games that are like, kind of shitty looking! and by that I mean lower fidelity. I wouldn't call kenshi 1 lo-fi or low poly but there is something inherently charming about the kind of unconsciously produced aesthetic traits derived from purposeful quality reductions in the name of performance. Like I like how character models in kenshi 1 are a little blocky and wonky and I'm sure someone somewhere that's more eloquent than me has written a better thesis on this kind of thing.
