Steve only ever refers to El, when he’s talking about her powers, which is really sad.

But, imagine him talking with Jonathan.

“...that girl with powers is your sister now, right? She’s super cool. She would be such a great support if she was here.”

“yeah, right.” Jonathan answers simply, and from his tone, Steve could guess that something is wrong.

“Dude, wait, did I say something wrong?” He places his hand on Jonathan’s shoulder, but takes it off when he meets his gaze. It isn’t cold, but it’s just...hurt.

“Who’s my brother?” Jonathan asks, and Steve isn’t sure what is in his mind.

“Um. Will. Are you okay?-”

“You said his name. You didn't say ‘Zombie boy’ or ‘boy who came back from death’. Just Will.” Jonathan says, and then it finally hits Steve. His mouth forms in an “o”, and eyes widen in realization. He screwed up.

“Jonathan-”

“But yet, you didn’t associate El even with a name. Just her powers.” Jonathan takes a step closer to Steve, not breaking an eye contact with him. It isn't treating, but Steve feels already so bad. He knows, he hurt him. “She’s just a girl, a kid. Just like Will and Mike and Max. Please don’t be like others, don’t see her just as a superhero with powers. She’s my sister, Steve. She’s my family, and she deserves to be a person, not just a character from comics.”

New wip.

First time I freehanded something with the hair, I kinda just did whatever.

I also sewed it on directly while still working on the head, came out much neater!

Hadn't crocheted with dark yarn in a while and I had forgotten how terrible it is.

You either develop a sixth sense for where the stitches are or at a certain point you just go "eh whatever, it's not like mistakes will be visible anyway".

starting on making a wreath for mental health. i plan on building upon it throughout the year with various materials scavenged in my yard. this hoop was taken from a willow that had been downed from a snow plow. willow is a pretty dense wood, so the thicker bits were very snappy and not very pliable. i couldve boiled the sticks but this was more of a passive activity and i dont have much dispensable water

as the season gets warmer there will be tons of shrubs, vetch and weeds growing to pick, dry and weave into this thing. maybe ill make mini ones, not too sure right now. i gotta invest in a proper hatchet and bush shears because as much as i love thwacking with hard sticks, green twigs dont really snap off well, wehe
