VADD Chinese Names

I was scrolling around for fanart when I happened on a forum and saw the Chinese fandom. It's interesting how the traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese sites have different spellings of the same names. Many people might not understand this but I'll try my best to translate lol

My Chinese sucks even though it's one of my first languages 🫠🫠🫠🫠 This comes from the first few chapters because they're free(i might unlock the rest just to improve my Chinese LOLL)

Parentheses are how I'd write them out as they're pronounced, with some help from google translate, as well as any interesting little notes

Simplified Chinese(China): Kuaikanmanhua

Note: When Western names are translated into Chinese, and probably other Asian languages, the characters aren't picked on meaning but how closely they resemble the pronunciation.

Manhua 漫画 Costume Appreciation post! I’ve been reading 魔尊要抱抱 (Devil Wants to Hug) (which is even cuter than it sounds) and constantly wanting to share the gorgeous artwork. So here is some of it.

Big Brother God Outfit #1: Naked From the Waist Up Except for Decorative Harness and Magically Attached Shoulder-Guard-with-Cape. And birthmark-tattoos. And crazy earrings.

And it goes on and on. The art is really gorgeous, even when it's not gratuitously displaying huge swaths of masculine musculature (the hair ornaments and clothing patterns are really lovely).

The story is pretty great, too. I'm mid-way through Season 2 right now and fully enamored with every major character.

So, a rant and a request for advice before I begin my dreadfully important hunt/research:

I’ve been loving the WeComics app, originally for reading Mo Dao Zu Shi in English (before I improved and trusted my Chinese), then for a bunch of other Chinese and translated-from-Chinese manhua. I’ve barely been on tumblr recently because I’ve been head-over-heels in love with 化龙记.

And then I noticed that 化龙记 is also in English on the app as “Tale of Dragon Morph”, so I open it up and, Lo and Behold, there is more/new chapter-header art! And so many more panels that help explain the flow of the plot — it makes sense now!

But as I read the English version, I notice that it’s Missing Scenes. Useful, important scenes that help with Character Development and Logical Flow.

What’s up with these manhua? Why are there different missing scenes in each language? Is it just WeComics?

Is there a manhua app out there that is Complete?!?!?

Grumpy follow-up: WeComics is being taken over by WebNovel, which doesn’t appear to have Any manhua at All 😠.

And KuaiKanManHua is typically censored. No cute images of one character washing another’s back, no super-useful panels showing how the protagonist escapes his lecherous captor’s bedroom. Nope.

Sigh. I will keep searching.

Yes WangXian are kissing 😭 💖💖💖🔥🔥🔥 This chapter overall is just soooo beautiful and perfect and EMOTIONAL. I'm showing just the highlights ofc but just seeing the panels again made my eyes tear up all over again. I don't think I've ever failed to cry a little during Wei Ying's reunion with A-Yuan followed by the hug between son and dads, regardless of the adaptation. I love them so much!!! And Wen Ning too! I'm so glad he got to spend bonding time with A-Yuan afterwards...altho I'm still gonna pretend The Living Dead movie does not exist.

Next week, Phoenix Mountain kiss revelation and possibly WangXian ppp. I'm gonna keep my expectations way low in terms of what we'll see since things aren't going too well over there right now in terms of BL, but hopefully the manhua artist will find a creative way to feed us.
