Dropping the next in my series, titled 'Face2Face (Non-binary Genderfluid) Lesbians'. This artwork is subtitled 'We stand on the Shoulders....' and was created for #internationallesbianday . 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩💕🏳️‍🌈💞👩‍❤️‍👩 I've continued the style of drawing the historical element as a pencil sketch here, so I've drawn the past lesbians with a 5B artist's pencil (rather as I did when drawing in the style of Picasso's pencil sketches in my 'Dipping the Apple Together' . The conceptual idea behind this is showing how lesbians have always existed throughout all eras, ranging from Sappho in Ancient times to the Ladies of Langollen and Anne Lister in the 19th century to the 20th century and beyond. There is no one way to dress or look as a lesbian and we exist across all cultures and ethnicities around the world. Can we stop with the causal lesphobia? Stop pushing the idea that lesbians are these big scary monsters who live to exclude and bully. Stop trying to validate the decade old stereotype that they’re all inherently aggressive and evil because a few exclusionists hurt your feelings. They also aren’t “proving your point” when they defend themselves in a tone you don’t like or have opinions you don’t agree with. You’re just lesphobic.
