[spring mornings]

It was a typical, late morning in spring. The sun had already risen, but not yet reached its highest state. Not that it mattered much in Gotham City. But today, even Mother Earth seemed to be in a generous mood, and here and there, a few rays of sunlight broke through the usual gray sea of clouds.

Somewhere, on the edge of town, just where the population thinned minimally, stood a tall residential complex – next to another one that looked the same, and another one that looked the same, and another one that looked the same.

Just like most of the rest of Gotham – or at least the parts that weren’t sponsored by Wayne Industries – this building was an old soul, spearing home to around three separate people per floor.

The apartments weren’t the biggest, and the floors in-between were cold due to the stone walls of the building, but at least there was an elevator. Also, it was mostly old people or petty criminals that found themselves living here. No real danger to anyone around.

Or so you would think.

But the real danger doesn’t come from within, no, in this case, it came from outside. An intruder.

It was a typical, late morning in spring. On a weekend. With mostly old people in the building. That were still sleeping.

But he didn’t care for that, no. He was leaning backwards on one of the plain white doors that led to a rented apartment, hands dipped in the pockets of his cargo pants and a loose-fitted T-Shirt. For once, his red hair wasn’t caught under a cap, he had gotten a haircut a while ago anyway.

He didn’t care about peace, he only cared about chaos. Because it was a late morning in spring, on a weekend, with mostly old people in the house that were still sleeping, and he was yelling.

“Oh, Jason, I love you so much! Oh, Jason, please, yes, exactly like that,” Roy Harper exaggeratingly moaned. He pitched his voice higher, in the – absurd – belief it would make him sound more girly-ish, his head was bumping the door behind him in few-second intervals.

Anyone listening would have thought that Roy was having a very ... spicy time down there. But no, he was alone, simply mocking a situation to draw the attention to him that he wanted.

It had been minutes since he had first entered the building, walked up the stairs, and knocked on the door to his best friend’s apartment, only to find that no one answered him. And because he just couldn’t leave it at that, he had decided to put on his little show, and his sounds were starting to become obnoxious to the entire rest of the people living in the building.

“You’re doing that so well Jason,” he kept on going. “Jason, I love you so much!”

Roy Harper had the body of a model athlete, but the mind (and in some’s opinion also the brains) of a five year-old. He was in the constant craving and need of attention and was determined that if nobody was available to give it to him – he would simply take it. Just like right now.

He knew that his best friend was home, and also that he was awake, judging by his inner watch but yet, he hadn’t opened the door for him.

And Roy could all too well figure out why. Which was the reason for all of this circus. Because he came here to see Jason, and if he wanted to see Jason, then he wouldn’t give up so easily, defeated by nothing more than a door.

The two of you were living together anyways, you could thoroughly study each other’s body parts another day.

The archer was just opening his mouth again, taking a deep breath for an extra loud exclamation (he didn’t even get to the kinky parts that he figured the two of you were totally into), when suddenly, and without any warning, the door he leaned on was opened from the inside.

With no time to adjust to his lack of leaning space, Roy fell backwards, flailing his arms for balance, and landed hard on the cold stone floor of Jason Todd’s apartment.

Still grinning, as he was looking up to see his best friend, who was standing leaned against the now open door.

“Hiya, Jay!”

“Roy.” Jason Todd’s voice was flat. His muscular arms were crossed in front of his chest and he was staring down at his best friend with a disapproving look.

He, on the other hand, was twisting his neck to take a farther look into the apartment – with a beaming smile, he recognized you standing in the empty doorframe between the kitchen and the living room.

“Hey, Y/N!” He greeted you. You gave a small wave back.

Roy frowned. Was he hallucinating or was your hair … tousled? And were you adjusting your pajama shirt? Oh, you so totally were!

The archer grinned cheekily. In one swift move - a total opposite to the rather clumsy entrance he had landed - he was back on his feet again and made his way to the left, directly into the small kitchen.

Vaguely, he heard Jason close the apartment door behind him. Determined, Roy headed for the hung shelves. He opened them one by one and closed them again, until he eventually found what he was looking for – a half-eaten bag of mini chocolate-chip cookies.

With a triumphant laugh, he pulled them out of the shelf, closed it behind him, and dug his hand in the bag.

Roy stuffed one cookie after the other in his mouth, without chewing even one of them properly, all while his feet absentmindedly carried him further into the apartment, through the threshold into the living room.

Both you and Jason leaned opposite him against the open doorframe, backs turned to the kitchen, and looked at your friend with raised eyebrows and crossed arms.

It was quiet for a while, only interrupted by the continuous munching noises of Roy devouring his cookies.

You tilted your head.

Normally, there were two possible reasons why Roy Harper would spontaneously seek out your and Jason’s apartment.

A) he was gravely injured and needed medical attendance as soon as possible. This usually happened at nights, or sometimes when he had decided he felt like starting a brawl.

Or case B) where he was just bored and in total need of attention.

You gave the archer in front of you a quick once-over with your eyes. Considering the lack of blood on his clothing and skin, and the fact that he could still walk upright, today the case seemed to be the latter. Also, the more common one, to be honest.

Jason seemed to have come to the same conclusion as you, because he was now shooting a disapproving look at his best friend.

“Roy, what do you want here?”

The addressed looked up from his cookie bag with stuffed cheeks. “Is this a bad time?” He muffled. “Oh, why am I asking, of course it is, you two were totally going at it.”

“I think what we are doing in our apartment is totally our business, Harper,” Jason almost spat at him. But Roy simply waved him off.

“Relax, it’s not like there was a problem, guys. I would love for Lian to have someone she can play with,” mumbled Roy, stuffing his face with even more cookies.

“We weren’t-” Jason groaned, frustrated. “Roy, what do you want? “

He shrugged. “Can’t I just come by to visit my good old friend once in a while? Huh, jaybird? My pal, my buddy, my boy?”

“Okay, that’s it.” Jason pushed himself off the wall and unceremoniously grabbed Roy’s shoulders.

“What are you doing?” The redhead asked, but Jason didn’t give him an answer. With all his strength, and the help of his apartment’s slippery floors, he pushed his best friend towards the door out of the apartment, which you courtly held open for both of them.

Roy turned around on the doorswell and threw Jason his best puppy dog eyes. “Come on, Jay, you can’t do that to me!”

“Call next time, Roy!” Jason simply said, and with a thump, he threw the door closed in his best friend’s face. At least he had left him the bag of cookies.

For a short while, Jason was just standing there, head close to the wall to check if Roy really was leaving. Only, when he heard footsteps disappear in the distance and the faint slam of the main door, he stepped back with a sigh.

You stood cross-armed, leaning on the kitchen counter. “Do you think we were a bit harsh on him?” you asked, and Jason turned to you.

“Nah,” he waved off. “He’ll be fine. He’s used to rejection.”

Your mouth fell open at his comment. “Jason!”

You slapped his shoulder playfully; he had taken a few steps towards you.

“What?” Your boyfriend laughed.

His voice dropped lower as he leant down to you, his warm breath was brushing over your ear. “Was just saying how it is.”

Then he captured your lips in a warm kiss, lifting his hands to grip your waist and pull you even closer to his body than you already were – trapped between him and the kitchen counter.

A soft moan managed its way past your lips at the movement, and you gripped your hands subconsciously into the fabric of his t-shirt.

“Now”, Jason grinned, when he broke away from you. “Before the red tornado barged in and interrupted us so rudely – where were we?”

cho! this was actually so fun to think about. cho is an underrated character and a boss bitch and i for one have relished the opportunity to think more deeply about her, so cheers for that anon! (i'm merging the other ask i got about cho with this one for a bumper cho post)

1. Canon I outright reject

i do not tend to outright reject canon because i am a boring yawn canon compliant girlie but i will say i find it weird to think that cho would be randomly checking/carrying her DA coin on the night that harry just happens to arrive back at hogwarts in DH. it’s not even for plot it’s just for the ensemble vibes. pointless cameo sorry! the whole point of failed high school romances is to never resolve them and just memory block them out for all eternity until you bump into them in the veg section at the big supermarket when you go home for christmas and make awkward small talk then see them again at the checkouts and want to die

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on

part of the reason cho was so (understandably) distraught after cedric's death was because of a dynamic in their relationship of cho revering/idolising cedric that only deepened after his death as he became somewhat canonised in popular memory. when they got together, cedric was a seventh year and cho was a fifth year. often when you're 15/16 you definitely look at 17-18 year olds like they're the coolest people on the planet and you're lucky to be in their orbit basking in their great worldly wise glory (lol). and while i’m not doing up age-gap-is-problematic-discourse i am saying that if you're in the last year of school and your mate starts going out with someone two years below who is doing their GCSEs or whatever you do a) obviously take the piss out of them but more importantly b) tend to see a pretty big gap in maturity and life experience that often adds a weird power differential in the relationship. that's not to say that cho didn't really miss cedric's company, but also that the grief was made worse by the fact that she likely saw him as a saint-like figure she was in awe of, a view that only received mass endorsement after dumbledore's eulogy of cedric, so she's not even really able to mourn a real person, but just the idea of someone purely heroic and good who she will never be able to replicate again

4. Favorite line

“He asked me out, you know,” she said in a quiet voice. “A couple of weeks ago. Roger. I turned him down, though.”

actually huge props for cho for joining a resistance fight club with no parental support for anti-ministry action. because in canon you have the weasleys whose parents are so politically involved, and whose sense of political right and wrong is (bar percy) so instinctual because it's how they were raised, it can be easy to overlook how significant it is when other characters who don't come from that family background/political lineage get involved in risky acts of open rebellion. like yes her defence of marietta is misguided, but cho is a boss bitch who lets her grief be fuel for a good fightback and i for one applaud it

8. Unpopular opinion about them

ok this is going to sound like me doing up pure ginny defender but for all ginny gets slated for having many a jealous moment (including with cho in DH) i do think it is Interesting that people overlook how insanely jealous cho is of hermione lol. i do like that element of cho's character - or rather, think it lets her be well-rounded and interesting, giving an insight into how the trio are perceived by other members of the student body, but also allows cho have this messy petty teenage side to her (people often tend to write her in fic as this very worldly mature grieving widow figure, instead of like, a girl going thru it and wildly acting out emotionally and developing a whole host of insecure abandonment issues that are mostly to do with her grief). but i love how she like sees red and goes full how many girls are you meeting after me!!! alexa play bust your windows!!! i am going to storm out and YOU are going to pay for these coffees!!! so yeah, my unpopular opinion is cho is petty and messy and obviously harry fucks up more but she does kind of act up and you know what, that's fine! she's still worthy of the world! (you know all i do is ride on my let girls giggle and be messy crusade)

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character

cho's gang of girlies wore potter stinks badges in the dormitory after that horrendous date to cheer her up. and she was like yeah you know what! he does!

ohhh man i am going to have to pass on this because i literally cannot name any smells. she's too prestige and gorgeous to not smell lovely though!

28. How they feel about insert character of your choice from the same fandom

i am kind of obsessed with a cho vs ginny bitter rivalry that doesn't actually have all that much to do with harry lol. cho is two school years older than ginny (given ginny is an end-of-august birthday baby, cho fully could be three years older than her, given hermione is two calendar years older than ginny and is only in the year above). so ginny is a little pipsqueak irrelevance to cho, whereas i expect cho lives in ginny's head rent-free while she's still in the throes of her deep unrequited crush on harry. then ginny goes out with michael, cho's teammate, and is in the DA, so probably is around a lot more, maybe they're semi-friendly, all going fine - until ginny pops up for the quiddich final in ootp and publicly demolishes cho on the quidditch pitch. can you imagine being a (almost or actual) seventeen year old getting the snitch snatched from under your nose by gryffindor's fourteen year old second-rate substitute seeker (especially after a year of playing badly?) i'd be fuming. no wonder cho cries and chucks her broom on the ground. so then ginny chucks michael for being a 'sore loser' (i think this must have also been a bit connected to cho, if all ravenclaw are having a great big public sulk lol), and then michael immediately gets with cho (canon implies that evening lmao). even if ginny didn't care about michael all that much, there is something pretty galling about your ex moving on to your sporting rival an hour after you break up lmao, and something very messy from cho to try and get back at the girl who just beat you by immediately hooking up with her ex lol. you can just imagine michael and cho bitterly slagging off ginny in between snogs at that post-match commiseration party. and then the following year, when ginny beats cho again, in a match cho 100% viewed as a re-match and a chance to finally best the person who humiliated her... i'm just saying, those two hate each other (at least as teenagers) and it doesn't even really involve harry lol. and i for one love it!

i am also bad at questions like these i'm so sorry 🫣 literally have no world/character-building capabilities to imagine people's favourite anythings. i do like the idea of cho being thoroughly unimpressed by the quality of the hogwarts cooking though! do i back a fleet of house elves living out their days in a castle in the scottish highlands to know their way around any kind of asian cuisine? no i do not. cho would have every right to fume

Dance HCs for the Redacted bois :)

David: Ballet

My man likes rules and ballet has those rules. He was the best at partner work and lifted those girlies into the air with no problem. The pack teases him abt it sometimes but angel loves it. They constantly ask him to teach them variations.

Asher: Classic Jazz/Hip-hop

I think he was enrolled in jazz classes as a kid and really enjoyed it. Later on, he thought hip-hop was really cool so he watched a bunch of videos on it. yes, self-taught hip-hopper ash. he's an absolute beast at clubs and definitely dances to the songs playing at grocery stores.

Milo: BALLROOM PLEASE HE'S LITERALLY PERFECT FOR THIS ARE YOU KIDDING? He loved every aspect of it: the style, the costumes, the competition, EVERYTHING. He was really good at it too, he won like 90% of the competitions we was in. He definitely had a massive rivalry with another person and was petty abt it.

Vincent: Contemporary Ballet

not necessarily ballet but it has a certain artistic element that he enjoys. He took a few classes as a kid and then enrolled in some classes at his college. I just think that he would be really good at it and it's not super traditional.

Sam: Country Western

my guy is from the south what did you expect? anyways he went to a lot of shindigs as a kid and then went to country clubs in college. He's goated at partnering too. he spins his partners around and lifts them into the air with ease. Even tho darlin is made of steel he can still pull crazy stunts.

William: Ballet

He's literally from France and was the reason why Tchaikovsky wrote the Nutcracker. He KNOWS his stuff.

Gavin: Jazz

Okay a bit different, but I think that he enjoys the more mature jazz/theatre. Like cabaret, chicago, and moulin rouge. he LIVES for that shit. fosse is his idol bro. he occasionally surprises freelancer with a little number lol

Damien: Ballet

my man went far with this like he was GOOD. He was definitely enrolled in a professional company before he went to damn. He was super particular about every move and argued with people during variations. He even got annoyed at the girls he was paired with because they weren't certain moves correctly. The other dancers didn't like him very much, but those russian ballet teachers did, and that's why he got so many good roles in the shows he was in.

Lasko: Musical theatre

okay, hear me out here. he's a show tunes guy. he loves newsies, grease, and hamilton and was for sure a theatre kid before his powers manifested. Like can you imagine how cute that is? he's a little bit embarrassed about it but when freelancer asks him about it he pulls out the old CDs. pls so cute

Huxley: Rhythmic tap

no not theatre tap like he goes hard with the rhythms. you really wouldn't expect it but you can sometimes catch him tapping when he's sitting or waiting in line. he's an absolute beast at it.

Caelum: Lyrical

he loves all of Maddie Ziegler's solos. the likes how much emotion is put into every move and gets very invested in the stories he tells through the movement. he also really likes all the pretty costumes.

anyways this is all just my opinion and I miss dancing a little bit. :P

(btw I apologize for this being long af 😔)

So I feel like I should prep this by saying before I figured out about LMK I was super into OPS's jttw series. So I made Zhao with the context of the book, and the book doesn't sugar coat things so Zhao's backstory is a bit uhhh, mature? There's no nsfw stuff but there is a lot, lot, loottt of angst (even though the backstory is kinda "simple"), so forgive me :'(

I did change up her backstory a bit for the LMK version because it is a kids show and I don't feel like the creators would stick with the dark tone of the original. Whenever I write OCs for sertant shows I try to write it with the context of "How would the creator tackle this if my oc was a Canon character?" Yk? You don't write a depressed, emo, Greek hero for a light hearted magical girl show.

So ye, this first segment will be her JTTW backstory sum-up and I'll note what is changed in the LMK version at the end👍

JTTW/original backstory(this is long, read at your own risk)-

-Zhao wasn't raised in the best household.. Not only was her father a total womanizer with 3 wives (at the time of her birth, by now he has 7) and who knows how many mistresses, but her elder family member were pretty verbally abusive. I mentioned before but Xiaotian and Biao-Qi (Zhao's father and grandfather) wanted Zhao to be born as a male because in their clan its essential for the first born of every generation to be a boy, so when they found out about Zhao being a girl they were really salty and thought of her as "The disgrace" of the family. (hence why Zhaoyan is a name generally given to Chinese boys, which yea Xiaotian is the type of douche-bag to chose the name of the child at the start of his marriage without the mothers approval)

-Zhao was the one basically raising her younger siblings because her parents couldn't be bothered to, Pangfua (Zhao's mom) couldn't even bare to look at Xiaotian's face so the last thing she cared for was some random children of him and his mistresses, and Xiaotian's other wifes didn't really care for the children either. However, Zhao ADORED her siblings because she was always good with little kids. But as time went on and on, with so many children coming in to the household she started getting tired, but what could she do? At the time she was barely a teenage girl, if she complained to her father she could legitimately be at risk to lose her head. Like I said, Xiaotian couldn't care less about Zhao, he doesn't give a damn if she likes taking care of her siblings or not.

-Eventually Zhao grew too tired of her family, and decided to leave. This might seem selfish but holy frick, the girlie felt like a maid, and it's not like she doesn't care for her family, it's that they couldn't care less about her. All of her siblings were old enough to take care of each other and the other family members treated them well, why shouldn't she be able to "go live her own life"?

- The first place she went was to a temple dedicated to the Chinese tiger spirit- Hu Ye. The reason she went to him specifically was because he was sort of the protector/symbol of Zhao's family (for context think about how Apollo was the protector of the Trojans in the Iliad), she prayed to him all night, she asked humbly to become a Jade Maiden that serves Guan Yin (because that was probably the best option. Also just so you have context- Hu Ye blessed the girls in Zhao's family with a healing gift. So basically they could heal any illness, wound, missing limb etc...). But to her surprise Hu Ye saw what she did as "unforgiving". You shouldn't leave your family who loves you so much, not cool >:( (cut him some slack tho, whenever to family would worship him they would make them self's seem like the most perfect people ever). And so in short he gave her flaming orange hair so she never forgets that she is a Tiger Maiden (bcz orange=tigers and he just be petty like that bro).

-Eventually she went to the woods but she was found by Lánhūa- a forest spirit. Lánhūa took pity on her and decided to take her in as one of her nymphs. Because Zhao had the healing gift she was a great addition to the palace Lánhūa lived in, Zhao was always the one making sure everyone was healthy and the worst someone suffered was a common cold, and even those wouldn't last long.

-However one day while she was collecting fruits for the palace she stumbled upon a strange noise near a mountain, she went to check what it was and wouldn't you have guessed its good ol' Sun Wukong. The pair fairly quickly became friends, Zhao would often tell him stories and keep him company and Sun (who was under that damn mountain for 346 years by the time he and Zhao met) would listen and tell her his life stories.

-At the early stages of the jttw Monkey actually did try and convince Zhao to come with him and the other pilgrims, she would be the one taking care of Tripitaka and making sure he stays healthy. Zhao refused at first but after some time she agreed. Her and Tripitaka were very close because they were both kinda the "sane ones" of the group and Zhao took her position very seriously. Sanzang eventually noticed that this was a bit weird considering how layed back the other pilgrims were, so he confronted her and Zhao opened up to him. And that's how I'd show her backstory in the book.

Holy crap that took so long to write/ Notes on how her backstory would probably be changed in the lmk version:

In the lmk version I think they'd tone down how bad her family was just a bit, again it is a kids show. I think the start would generally be the same but that Hu Ye would grant her wish. But instead of a disciple for Guan Yin I think they'd change it into a Peach Maiden, so that she could meet the brotherhood and befriend Wukong like she did in the original backstory. They'd probably remove Lánhūa as well (because she is a very minor character in Zhao's backstory). So yea in short of what I think the creators of LMK would do with her character: -Hu Ye grants her wish of becoming a Peach Maiden. -Orange would be her natural hair color(bcz tigers woo). -I honestly think they'd give her a sort-of survivor's guilt because of the whole "leaving your family" thing instead of "Ama give u tiger hair so you never forget how you left your family >:(" -She meets the brotherhood through their lil' rebellion -Healing powers would probably be toned down a bit so there's still some risk

My 'Mean Girls' experience ~ How the movie Mean Girls relates to Autism.

I never realized how much I related to Cady from 'Mean Girls' and how relatable the movie is to Autism until I watched this video.

By the way, Mean Girls is literally my favorite movie of all time. I literally can site almost every line in the movie (no I did not watch the musical that came out earlier this year since I hate musicals) but the OG movie will forever be my favorite. I never really thought about how much it relates to my experience until I watched this video and reflected on my own experience.

I had a Mean Girls experience myself, but instead of moving from Africa and being home-schooled I moved down south from up north and I was socially awkward. It was a huge culture shock. If you have ever seen the movie, Cady (portrayed by Lindsay Lohan) struggled with her transition from moving from the only home she knew and being home-schooled to going to high school in another country. She struggled a lot in the beginning not knowing anyone and not knowing where to sit at lunch, she had to eat in the bathroom. This was literally my 9th-grade year when I first moved down south. I didn't know anyone, and I struggled to relate to others which was always an issue but it was even worse in another region of the country with a different culture. I kept quiet and kept my head down. I did not make any friends that first year down south in a new school in a small town where everyone knew each other and had been going to the same school since kindergarten. I stuck out like a sore thumb and immediately people knew I was new since I was a new face around school and had an accent.

The 10th-grade year was a little better. I started hanging out with a group of girls kind of like Cady started hanging out with the plastics. The group of girls I hung out with were nothing like the plastics but they were definitely cooler than me at least I thought. I just wanted to belong somewhere so badly and for the first time, I did. We would hang out during school and outside of school, and we would talk on the phone and text (my dad got me my first cell phone that year) we would even pass each other handwritten notes in the hallway, kind of like our own burn book but letters. When I look back this is when I started heavily masking, I just wanted to be a part of the group and they would be nice most of the time but would throw shade kind of like the plastics did Cady. I would get made fun of for how I spoke, pronouncing words correctly, sounding too proper, how I walked, how I danced, and if I spoke too loud or was too quiet. It was literally always a problem being myself and I'm sure I started picking up on these girl's behaviors to fit in with the group.

By 11th and 12th grade I was essentially one of them in my mind and kind of came out of my shell, similar to Cady, and formed my own identity. Every now and then I would still get mocked for petty reasons and would get called an oddball but by that time I had a lot more confidence in myself. I had gotten my braces off and I started dating a little bit. I really thought I was somebody but looking back I lost who I was. The person I masked into back then is the person I became for the rest of high school, college, and even in my twenties.

But yes, Mean Girls definitely is relatable in the sense of trying to fit in and it eventually backfires in the long run just like Autistics trying to fit in a neurotypical world only for all the masking to essentially become detrimental to our mental health.

Side Note: I also believe I picked up on some of the behaviors of the characters in the movie especially Regina George and Gretchen Wieners, not necessarily the mean girls aesthetic but the feminine and girly aesthetic to mask. I started dressing more girly, getting my nails done, and wearing makeup as well during that time.

Yes, I was totally Cady sticking out like a sore thumb, being naive thinking the other girls in the group intentions were genuine.

Hello Celta, I think it’s funny as he** that Charles’ second wife (CSW) wants to supplant the first wife in every regard. Karma don’t play girlie, she’s a thousand times as vicious as any b**ch alive. The fact that she seems to care so deeply and desperately about it shows me just how deeply she was invested in removing Diana from Charles life. Just how much they both gaslighted Diana and tried to make her crazy making. Just how much she hated Diana. Please don’t ever change, CSW. Don’t change. The fact that she’s having a hard time even contemplating letting go, shows us again how deeply her negative emotions towards Diana were ingrained for so many years. It reminds me of Meghan’s control of Harry. She keeps on flipping the switch that engages that part of his reptilian brain to hate and envy William and to covet everything that’s rightfully his. They are two peas in a pod, Meghan and CSW. And the best part? Karma has now activated for them both, by the passing of one great lady, QEII who held their futures in the balance. Perhaps they both have the same trajectory, who knows? They both ignored the golden rule, don’t wish for others, what you don’t wish for yourself. It’ll be fun to see how this plays out.

On another concerning note. The Commonwealth Games are in peril. Both Australia and Canada have both pulled plans to host the 2026 and 2030 Games respectively. Both countries cite the cost of hosting the games as the reason. It seems the Commonwealth itself is collapsing at a much faster rate than we anticipated. Yet Charles twiddles his thumbs, holidaying up in Scotland, wearing the kilts that William supposedly refuses to appropriate. Hahaha lol. Yes Charles, let’s focus on the little things while the world collapses in upon us, and the ar**hole son and the much admired Tungsten wife wreak havoc down upon us. BTW Northywitch a YouTube tarot reader with some accuracy says that she feels the overseas duo with do something very stupid, like stage another security scare. Harry knows he’ll lose his bid to get IPP. She said the same before the NY car chase before it happened. She feels they will pull another stunt, either in Düsseldorf or Asia. I hope they know how the Europeans and Asians deal with threats. I wouldn’t want to test it. Lol. Plus I believe M15 and M16 have eyes on them.

Camilla does seem to be set on a path of petty revenge and trying to supplant Diana. I wish she wouldn't, as it would be much better for her if she rose above it/let it go and concentrated on building her own legacy as Queen Consort, but you can't dictate what other people do, so all we can do is watch and wait for the fallout.

Harry and Meghan pulling another stupid stunt overseas would not surprise me, as it would get them the attention they both seem to crave. I hope they are called out for it if it happens, the same as their last stupid stunt (the car chase) was called out.

There has been quite a bit of discussion here in Australia about Victoria (a state) pulling out of hosting the Commonwealth Games. I believe it when they say it was for economic reasons. I hope some other country can step up and host the games, as otherwise it will be a big disappointment for the athletes.

I don't think the Commonwealth of Nations is falling apart. It seems to be going strong. What I do see is quite a few nations who are part of the Commonwealth and who have King Charles as their head of state becoming a republic over the next 10 - 20 years and rejointing the Commonwealth as an independent nation, like most of the member nations (the Commonwealth of Nations has 56 nations as its members, of which 15 have King Charles as their Head of State - the others have different monarchs or are republics). I can also see more nations joining the Commonwealth who do not have ties with the old British Empire (like Mozambique, Rwanda, Togo and Gabon).

EDITED TO ADD: I just read your post on @honeytothebee where you mention the difference in the feeling For King Charles III as compared to Queen Elizabeth 2 in the Commonwealth realms (the 15 members of the Commonwealth of Nations who have King Charles III as their Head of State). With respect to Australia, I agree with you. In my circle of friends (which is not the whole country, just a small part of it) there was a definite connection to Queen Elizabeth 2 and a feeling of respect, loyalty and love for her. With King Charles III, there is just indifference. I believe that Prince William could inspire a similar affection as was given to his grandmother, if he visits us and if his visit is not sabotaged by opposing interests like in Jamacia. We are currently feeling rather neglected down here (the new King does not consider us worth a visit etc). Other Aussies are free to disagree, of course. I can only speak for myself and my social circle, which is a very small part of the Australian people.

Okay now to answer your question about Yoongi's feelings. The reason why he was still able to run to her (kinda) was because he was a Creator and therefore it took a while longer for the magic to overwhelm him. Sophie and Shirley got like a "magical signal" from Suzy to start their plan. They tranquilised Jelena with magic and then attempted to do the same to Yoongi, which failed big times as they both got killed by him seconds later afnadf. Then he already heard OC scream for him, but by that point he also felt the magic infilitrate his body which meant he could only really stumble to get to her while his muscles grew weaker and weaker and his eyesight got darker and darker. He was definitely scared out of his wits, mostly for OC of course but also for himself because it's been thousands of years since he last felt that helpless 🥺

If I had to stand like an utter fool for five minutes more, I would have regretted this secret arrangement of having our first date at the festival. Karu was the one to express this thing of having a date. Honestly, I am not into this thing, you know, going out with your girl at the same festival that happens every year, the same things to buy, the same food to eat. It bores me.

But when Karu said that she would wear a Yukata, I thought I could give it a shot. I was already trying to think of something that could annoy her. She looks so cute when she pouts, just for me. Not actually bragging but I like that I’m the reason to irritate her enough to get her cuss, to get those girlie reactions, to make her feel humane, I guess.

“You sure you’re gonna wear yukata?”, I asked that day since I highly doubted that on the date I would see her in that familiar ‘angel’ jacket with high heels rather than a yukata. She glared, of course, and I did not press the matter anymore but I did express my terms for the date.

All the toman members were supposed to visit the same festival and Karu will be there too. There is no way I want all the Toman members to gawk at her in the traditional outfit, that should be only for me. Besides, I just wanted to have a peaceful time with her, without anyone ‘whooing’ us. Everyone is already suspicious enough.

“Fine. But I just want us to go. No toman members. Just a day before we all going to go to the festival, " her lips parted when I said those words. I was expecting something like, “there is no way we’re gonna have that kinda date. Plus anyone could see us?” Instead, I got a nod. Just a nod, a nod that suggested ‘yes’ and ‘bashful’’, I would say.

And here she is, panting heavily trying to say something. I knew she would not apologize for being late. I stood there like a goddamn statue for thirty minutes checking my phone every now and then. Love makes you do crazy things, they say. Well, they are not wrong but I should not call myself crazy because of that.

Still, I asked, “What took you so long?”

“Traffic”. She said making me laugh. Right, traffic. I looked at her and when she smiled looking back at me I knew she was just trying to tease me. We started walking through the crowds. There was a lot of space between us and no one thought we are in a relationship. I was enjoying this because every time I tried to lessen the gap between us she would move away from me or start to walk faster.

Turning around blocking my path, she asked, “Why are you not wearing a Yukata ?”, crossing her arms across her chest.

“When did I say I would wear one?”

Tsk! I should not have said that. Fuck.

I don’t know what exactly she was trying to prove by stomping through this place full of people but I can’t have her getting lost in her. Two reasons, One, I’m bad at finding people if they are lost and Two, knowing what I just did seconds ago Karu would go home and I would still be looking for her. Too risky.

I could just grab her hand but I was not willing to do that, especially when she was angry. Besides, I don’t want our first date to be a bad memory. I was walking behind her silently until I saw her rushing like a rocket towards the far end of the festival. She stopped in front of a shop and looked at me with a big grin.

When I finally got there I could get why she was undeniably happy. It was a shoot-and-win shop. The shop owner looked at us and handed me the rifle.

“I’ll shoot”, Karu remarked being offended at such a petty notion.

“Manjiro, Which one do you want?” ‘man-ji-roh’, that just makes my heartbeat pound like crazy.

I did not answer. Why would I? She wasn't looking at me… “The pink bunny”

“Why not the monkey? Kinda suits you…”, ‘Great still so angry’

It’s been a year since I last saw her shooting. She had a pattern and a definite style while shooting. At first, she loaded the rifle by herself. The shopkeeper generally does that but knowing Karu she is not a big fan of getting help from others. And ‘others’ include me too.

Then, she tapped the stock of the rifle two times before holding it in the postion and shooting within a blink.

ONE.TWO.THREE..

Three plushies of the uppermost row fell and I had to control my laughter since the face of the shopkeeper was to die for. He knew he had no chance of using those toys for the next festival.

THE PINKY BUNNY. THE MONKEY. THE PANDA

The rule was for the first installment, you get three shots. If you get only one shot, the money increases while the number of shots or chances doesn't. Again, the person has to renew but with Karu, there was no question of renewing.

FOUR.FIVE.SIX

This time she did not even do that ritual thingy, that double tap on the ground before shooting.

HELLO KITTY. TWO KITSUNE MASKS.

“That’s it, brat.”, the shopkeeper yelled almost snatching the rifle from her. Trust me, it took everything in me not to land a blow on that fucker because that is not how you treat a customer. I paid for the shot as quickly as possible because that sight of him almost made me snap. Karu was calm. No one could say that she was angry or even slightly offended.

We took two plushies each. And one mask for each.

“We might get caught as thieves”, Karu mumbled but even with her Kitsune mask on I could tell that she was smiling, she was happy again.

“Well, not sure about that but we definitely look like a couple” With two plushies in our hands and our masks on, we looked horrible. But at least, she got her smile back.

“Now what?”, I asked and suddenly my stomach growled. Glad that I had my mask on either wise Kari would not have stopped making fun of my ‘I’m hungry. Feed me’ face. There are days when I shared my food with her, whine that I’m just lazy please feed me and she would make it ten times harder to make it happen. And now, she knows that face, the ‘feed me’ face.

“That’s your answer, Manjiro”, she said and started walking towards the row of food stalls. Trust me when I say, she has a big appetite. I hate that I get competitive in that but maybe that’s why we became closer.

I could not eat much. Maybe I was nervous, nervous about how she would react, react if I kiss her. We were standing near the food stall. She gave me a bite from her at first. How kind of her. The moment I leaned in to take a bite, she swayed it away. With all the plushies in my hand, I was helpless.

I noticed that the shopkeeper was staring at her. I would not blame her since Karu’s beauty was jaw-dropping. I was used to it, well, atleast I thought so until I finally had the time to notice her plum kimono hugging her body flawlessly.

“Here”, she extended me the bowl of noodles. I glared at her. Yes, I did and let her win. After finishing our meals, although I barely ate, we decided to head home. The problem was with the prizes. If I had taken any of them, even the mask; I know I would be interrogated.

If not by Emma, then atleast my Draken when he will drop by for a visit. She could obviously take all these home but if Emma went to visit her unannounced we would get caught, red-handed.

I told Emma I’ll be with Draken and Karu used Emma as cover. Damn, I just hope Emma and Draken never talk about anything related to the festival. Karu will not talk to me for days. She has very strange ways of grounding me.

I did not realize that we were already near her home. “I’ll give these to the kids in my neighborhood”

Damn! She is thoughtful.

She sounded a little sad or maybe I was nervous. It was her idea to have our relationship in secrecy, I was fine with telling everyone. Atleast, I would be spared from the burning jealously I feel whenever I see any lower members look at her.

“You know tomorrow we will be visiting the same festival, with the others.”

“Yeah, so?”, she was about to cross the main threshold. I wanted to say that I liked her or loved her but I knew she would not say it back. I’m not greedy but atleast once I would love to hear that. Was showing your affection through action truly enough?

I was lost for a few seconds weighing my options. But I was pulled back to reality when I felt her breath fan against my cheek.

“Good night, Manjiro” and then she gracefully walked inside her house.

Did she just kiss me? Damn it. Damn it. Damn it. I started to walk toward home. I was standing at the crossing thinking about how our date went. Exhaling, I ran my hands over my nape. It was perfect.

The moment Emma opened the door my worst fear came true. She began aimlessly, “Draken called asking for you and I was confused…OH MY GOD. Who is the girl? Tell me! tell me! tell me now, Mikey”

“There is no girl”, was my reflex response. Fuck! How did she…? Wait does that mean Emma and Draken…together? Like together? Like us? Or like soon to be together?

She pulled me in front of the nearest mirror. There was a very light mark of red lipstick on my left cheek.

“lmao girls are so emotional” - and we have reason to be. if we’re upset about something and your immediate assumption is it’s because we’re vapid and overly sensitive, you were probably led to believe that by people who, at best, want to ignore us, and, at worst, want to hurt us without consequence.

Aaaaaa thank you!!!! And yes I agree, the fact that she is sad wet and pathetic is exactly what makes her so interesting!! Okay ask and you shall receive:

— I feel like Bo was also living a double life during the years leading up to TCW era, dedicating herself to building up and co-leading Death Watch but also maintaining the facade of her life in Sundari (to keep up appearances/maintain her position of status, but also mostly to collect government intel and leak it back to DW)

—Lowkey more of a Bo-adjacent HC but: in the wake of the events of The Mandalore Plot (after Vizsla is exposed as the leader of Death Watch) I feel like Satine just. Knows. her sister must be involved too based on how close the two of them always were (though she never suspected anything negative or dangerous going on between them) but she doesn't want to believe it. The next day, footage of Bo fleeing the scene of a DW-incited riot on a nearby world hits the news. She sneers directly into the camera. Satine knows the look was intended just for her.

(Aight I can't promise these will all be lighter but I'm throwing in some HCs that are at least random and a bit shorter:)

— The nite owl crest is the historic signet of House Kryze, Bo sees using it to represent her own elite warriors as a first step to reclaiming a bit of her family's honor and reputation

— She is extremely tall, like 5'11", and extremely freckled. I feel like she started out insecure about standing out and the attention that came with it, but grew to not really care and even use it to her advantage.

— Zero filters, swears constantly, extremely sarcastic, is never above inciting a fight or argument no matter how petty, etc etc

—Banter is her love language, platonic or romantic. If she can talk shit to and about you in a funny affectionate way and trust that you'll give as good as you get, that means she's truly 100% comfortable and trusting around you.

— Lowkey suffers from not like other girls syndrome. A tomboy who never aged out of her "ew I don't have a girly side and I never will" era. Pretty feminist outside of this one blind spot.

— She's all-in on taking down Satine along with her government, no regrets no personal feelings. The only person she sometimes feels a pang of remorse over in the whole situation is Korkie. I feel like when Bo was in their lives, they had a big-little sibling dynamic more than she and Satine did in many ways (based on my HCs they would've only been 5 years apart, whereas she and Satine would have been 10-11 apart.) She can mostly put it out of her mind but occasionally a bit of guilt over turning on him hits her. She hopes maybe he'll see reason and join the correct side when the fateful moment comes. (oops shit this one was long again)

BTW OMGG been meaning to for agess and had heard a few songs of it but finally earlier this week i listened to swayama in its full !!! its rly good but like. tbh thee first time i listening to it in fully i was a littlee bit disapointed for reasons entirely unfair to the album GHDHDF bc okay for context a while back i saw a post and like. in highsight it def wasnt in regards to sawayama bc that was released too early for it and was prob abt the album she released in like 2021? which i need to listen to tht too but i didnt know that at the time this happened DFHDFHD but the post was like. basically a fan of both rina and taylor posting a bit from an interview w rina basically saying she got motivated to write music during covid bc she saw taylor release folklore and thought if taylor was releasing an album thats about these fictional situations she could release an album about her real life but even tho it was like. about her being inspired by taylor there was still manyy ppl in the notes who where fans of rina but didnt like taylor seeing it as like a dig against her? and being like "omg yess rina taylor sucks ur sm better than her !!!" (which was kinda funny bc the person who posted it responded to that and im p sure they were like "yk rina is a taylor fan right" (but i dont fully remember that so that cld j not be true) but like. okay now i know better than to assume someones whose like. that Weird abt disliking taylor swift knows anything abt her actual music and its quality but i think i developed an attitude of like. if this is the kind of music that people who hate taylor swift base their superiority complex over taylors fans on then it has to be like. at least comparable to her music (and not j her music in general but FOLKLORE !! like im not a huge folklore girlie compared to some of her other albums but thats absolutely some of her best work ever cmon) and maybe this is a bit mean and im the only one who thinks this but like. it was really really really fucking good but like. imo specifically w like the lyricism it was again really really good but nottt as good as taylor esp folklore SORRY !!!!! but bc i had the comparison at the back of my mind i was a bit confused/disappointed when it wasnt (even tho again i had heard some of the album before i tihnk i j assumed that those where some of the weaker songs but theyre some of my faves tbh 😭😭) but then i lsitenied to ita but more spereatly and was like. wait this is really really fucking good like the whole album i was jsut unfairly comparing it to fucking folklore bc other ppl set up a whole rina >> taylor sepcfically folklore thing in my mind 😭😭😭😭 anyway id say my fave songs of the album as bad friend, chosen family, and tokyo love hotel but i also rly love whos gonna save u now, paradisin and dynasty (the last two more from an outsider pov than a relatabilty one bc i also got annoyed listening to dynasty the first time bc ppl made it out to be a fucked up relationship w ur parents song and yk part of that is on me for like. not assuming that "fucked up" means they dont think it relates to um. the much more accurate and intense term id (and u wld i just dont feel like using it Publicly yet yk) use to describe them FGFHGDFGFSD but still i was annoyed a bit at that but in hidnsight that was perhaps a lil dumb FHDFHDF)

NO THATS SO VALID there have def been times i did nottt like music for reasons like that which like may be theyre petty reasons but also theyre so real like. idk just ur so valid for that shnsbsdjsjs BUT YES chosen family and bad friend are 2 of my absoluteeee faves of that album and id also say i rlly like comme des garcons and stfu !!!!! but yesss honestly i shld relisten to the whole album soemtime:00

So I’m just going to assume the midway point for comics is where they start to fall apart. Got to the Soul arc for Batgirl which…we are supposed to believe Babs would be petty enough with Dick to momentarily put Cass’s life in danger instead of calling him as soon as the others weren’t able to make it? That her batgirl outfit was designed specifically to be sexy and that she wore it to get a rise out of the guys she was fighting and Bruce and Dick too. Or that when Cass puts it on, it would be so distracting that Tim, a seasoned Robin would keep getting distracted by it? Then you have Bruce and Babs acting like a divorced couple over Cass which I thought we all agreed after Batman Beyond that ship was a no? And I don’t mind Cass wanting to be seen as more girly or sexy but how she kept trying to kiss Kon was…uncomfortable. I know it wasn’t meant to be and more of a “ha-ha” they keep missing but Connor never seemed to want to do it. And then you have Cass in the made-up Ruso-Middle-East country which, I get why it put a strain on her and Bruce’s relationship but dear lord you two, talk it out like mature people. Seriously, “She’s hiding something from me. Won’t you tell me?” -shakes head- just good lord, you had/have a crush on a terrorist, Bruce has banged Catwoman and Thalia, he cannot judge you for crap. Then, and oh boy we get to Cass’s inner thoughts we’re she sees Babs as weak because of the wheelchair, going so far as to assume that’s why her and Dick are over (whether it’s the reason or not, she has no proof), worries if she’s only sexy because of Bab’s batgirl outfit, thinks Bruce and David think she’s the most worthless thing on the planet for not obeying their every direct order and then when Dick rescues her, what’s her response, to kick him through a wall. No sides of stories, no gratitude for the save, just no respect. It’s a straight up, “you hurt Babs, I don’t care, I hurt you.,” which, I really hope we’re past this type of thing because Cass isn’t stupid, she’s as emotional as Jason and it just seems they’re taking that from her at the moment. AND THEN WE HAVE THE LANGUAGE BS! “Yes, it is possible to learn body language as a language.” No, that’s not how language works. They’ve done the experiment of kids being in isolation with no language, they developed their own. Then to make it stupider, different cultures have different body languages and then different people also have different body language based on a ton of other factors. It’s the same as the “You know sign language right? Talk to them,” between someone from America and South Africa. It wouldn’t work. Then we have her doing hand signs at times, sign language is still a language, it wouldn’t be easier for her since she still wouldn’t have known the words and I’m not arguing the Cass is non-verbal point, because despite that, she would still need to learn the words. And to make this far, far worse, I’ll do the comic suspension of disbelief and go with the everyone has the same body language, some dickwad, after being saved by her, altered her brain and made her forget her native tongue to learn English…if you are a native speaker of say English, French, Spanish or Chinese, please look up the number of endangered languages. And after that, please remember most of them died out due to people being killed for speaking it, it being considered the language of the dumb and barbarians, and so many other things. Languages were massacred during colonialism and still are being wiped out. I wanted Cass to hurt that man, because guess what, taking away one’s language is taking away a large part of their identity since it’s been proven language has an influence on how we think. And to top off the language thing, the girl is smart and has amazing muscle control, you could teach her the phonemes and how hard is it to teach her basic words like foods and cars and say their name until she pronounces it right. Instead we just get Babs, “If you could speaka zee English” BS which I’m not a fan of.

falling ten feet for two days

im so sick of being this completely different person around other people. I never realized it before but now that im aware that im not acting like the person I truly am, it has made my life oh so more miserable than it was before. I pretend to be this happy loving person when really I get annoyed at the smallest things and resent specific people for no reason at all. I know, it sounds like im just trying to be different but I wanna be who I really am. I wanna show off my interests and my hobbies without people ridiculing me for it. sure, im genuinely a nice person but im not the kiss ass everyone thinks I am. sometimes I like playing petty tricks or saying small things to start up an argument between my friends. sometimes I even like pretending to be sad or sick in order to get attention. im not sure why I like the concern so much but it sort of fuels my ego in a way and gets rid of the thought that no one cares about me (temporarily of course.) I also hate being judged based off what I like or being made fun of because of it. yes, im super girly. I like songs without words. I like writing about teenage fantasies. I like dating even though ive never done it before and turn down every opportunity. I like going for hour long jogs. I like sitting around in the comfort of my own house all the time. I like waking up super early. and I like staying up late to listen to cringey asmr audios (even though I hate staying up past 2) and im a sucker for attention. and especially, I like being myself and dressing the way I wanna dress and acting the way I wanna act. people think that I act a certain way just because im black and if I dont act that way then I wanna be white. maybe I just am that way? anyways, here's a quote from a story ive been writing.

“I just dont get it. If im sad, why does there have to be a reason? If im sad then just let me feel that way in peace. I dont always have to have an excuse just to cry. Then it makes it seem like I have no reason to cry when im upset because theres nothing going wrong. Maybe im just feeling overcome with emotions and even I dont understand why im crying!”

Reader Getting Stuck in Raven’s Fairytale Book and Robin Saving Them HC (Request)

You weren’t going through Raven’s room

Nope you were just minding your own business in the kitchen and BOOM

You’re sucked into a story book

More specifically you’re sucked into Sleeping Beauty

We’re gonna do the Disney version instead of the OG cause yea

So you get in and take the roll of Aurora which means that you get to go into a 100 year sleep

Back in the tower, everyone is looking for you and suddenly they hear Raven start yelling for everyone

That’s when they realize what’s happening and Raven is just confused as to why she’s having books suck people into them since this isn’t the one that does that

Except that it is

She realizes that someone has to go in but she can’t since she has to monitor the book from the outside in case something goes wrong

Robin volunteers totally not thinking about the kissing part

The rest of the team just doesn’t say anything hoping that finalllyyyy you two would get together if you don’t die in the process

Raven keeps a link with Robin in the story book

She makes sure to lead the pages along and guide him through what he has to do to reach you

It’s all going fine until Maleficent

This bitch does the most cause she’s petty and we love her but for this cause like time crunch girly

Once this starts happening, Raven suddenly can’t communicate with Robin through the thorns

Cause there’s always a part where the side characters just don’t anymore

And that would be now children

So he takes up the sword that was magically bestowed onto him and something that resembles a wing ding and basically just KO’s Maleficent into the pits of hell

Cause we all know that if you call upon the power of hell and then die with those powers you’re in some deep shit right there

Some might say you’re on the highways hell 🙃

So when he finally defeats Maleficent he runs up to the tower

This idiot tries to wake you up by shouting at you and then gives you CPR cause he just assumes that you’re dead

And then he realizes

👁👄👁

Uh duhhhhhhhh

FAIRY TALE AWKARD KISS ENSUES

I have to say that it was awkward for him since he’s a respectful king and really just didn’t want you to have to kiss him without consent but like you couldn’t and he didn’t want the two of you to die

You wake up but you’re still stuck in the book

He explains everything that happened and why you’re all dressed up fancy and why he looks the way he does and then you are just like

Well what do we do now

He tries to dodge the topic of the kiss but you won’t let him

Soooooo you kissed me

Yeaaa cause otherwise we’d be stuck here and die

Well we’re still stuck so you’re sure that there wasn’t another reason

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hehe

And that’s when he spills the entire pot of beans

Like yes he’s had a massive crush on you and he didn’t say anything since he didn’t want you to feel weird and he didn’t want anything to come between your friendship and then BOOM

You kiss him this time and say that you like him too

Bada bing bada boom the story starts to disintegrate and you think you’re gonna die

And then Raven comes through and tells you two to hold on cause it’s gonna be a bumpy ride

You’re essentially holding onto each other for dear life while falling through a ton of stories as you can hear the sounds of pages rapidly flipping and then the sounds of the tower start to get louder and louder

And that’s when you fall from the ceiling of the kitchen on top of each other and are back

Raven just has the smug look the entire tome since she knows exactly what was happening

Like girlllllllllll

But she doesn’t say anything since she’s a respectful queen and doesn’t snitch

But the others do figure it out eventually after putting two and two together and then you get teased relentlessly about it for the rest of your happy lives

I just want to add that during this i just imagine Robin and reader dancing along to Once Upon a Dream in the empty ballroom while music plays from the instruments but since the story is technically complete there’s no one else in the room and just them and it’s so lovely and serene and like young love guys omg

I might have to do a bit on that

Like a series of fairy tales where reader gets stuck or smt with another character like omg

And have polls of like which character for who

Yea i might do that when i get all of these requests done
