Me crying and relating to Luz Noceda so much: her constant struggle with worrying about being too much and being too much when she tries to put herself out there. When she's herself she's too much and goes overboard. So she hides and buries her self with books, fantasies, anime, TV shows. Just the constant feeling that your existence just annoys people. Because your too weird, too hyper, too much. Self blame and self hate grows the more you screw up. And you blame yourself. Because you are too much. You bury yourself in fantasies that there's a reason your too much and so weird. And the sadness and acceptance when you realize there is no reason. Your just you. And you need to find a place and a group of people where you can fit in.

I just relate to her sooo much. Especially kid/tween and teenager me. I go overboard and not realize how I'd come off to people. I get this constantly feeling that I'm just annoying people that my existence is too much. I'm too hyper. Too clumsy. Too excited about things that no one cares about. I'd hide myself away in my interests and hyper fixations and make myself small so as not to be noticed. To not annoy anyone. Because everything I do is annoying and disruptive. And too much

im thinking of random toh headcanons ive got floating around in my head:

1. i feel like this is pretty much fanon all across the board for the most part, but luz “weak nerd arms” noceda grew more physically active post-boiling isles but the difference isn’t really noticed until she’s in the human realm again and oh hey! that nerd from gym class? luz has got endurance in spades; she’s a regular at free running now. and she’s gotten an offer from the cheer squad to join once she returns but she turns them down. she and hunter go running in the park on the weekends bc luz is now a flexible speed demon and hunter’s kind of glad she can keep up with him.

2. hunter definitely gets into gaming. not just board games but mmorpgs and turn based games and all sorts. does he get into CoD? yes and no, bc on one hand, battling it out with a team with no lethalness involved helps burn out a lot of his anxiety that springs him into fight mode, but he can’t do mics bc his team mates are annoying and rude and will not take the match seriously like he does. he likes leisurely decision based games, like nitw and oxenfree, bc one, exploration and two, lore. the boy loves mysteries so he gets super into video game lore, im talking YouTube essays talking about themes and Easter eggs and pop culture.

3. willow tends to keep her insecurities close to her chest. she likes being the voice of reason and dependable for her friends bc she’s no longer considered useless “half-a-witch” willow, but she’ll avoid talking about her own emotions if she can. she’d rather put her energy towards something more constructive like her gardening and working out, and while her friends do their best to make sure she’s included in any and all bonding activities, willow will internalize. she will speak with Gus about it on occasion, and she feels only a little bit distant from Luz now since she and Amity are dating and she’s understanding, so inevitably she reveals bits and pieces with hunter. as a result, they spar whenever she has to deal with bouts of frustration. it’s shameless how they flirt.

4. since the day of unity and upon their inevitable return to the boiling isles, Gus wants to use his illusion talents in a more self-defensive manner? generally it’s used more for distraction and evasion, but when he starts working out with willow and hunter, combined with input from amity whose magic is mainly combat based, he becomes more flexible with how he uses his illusions.

5. on top of combat, Gus spends his time building his knowledge of the human realm, which goes without saying, but he partners with Eda on selling her human realm products now that they know what things actually are and what they’re used for. human realm technology becomes pretty popular in the demon realm bc of Gus.

6. amity and her father finally get closer. it’s really slow-going, but with her mother out of the picture they’ve gotten a chance to experiment with abominations with honest-to-titan creativity, and not just creating abominations for combat. as a result, they start trying to use abomination clay for more practical every day applications like construction and travel, but also abominations to explore areas of the isles that are too dangerous for normal witches to access.

7. Gus and Matt still help protect the looking glass ruins, and they’ve grown closer in their friendship. Gus is still leagues beyond Matt in terms of illusion magic, but Matt inspires creativity in mischief, so they become a prank trickster duo that rivals the Blight twins. and since Gus loves to express himself creatively, they end up reinvigorating Hexside’s long dead theater program. they are the most beloved theater kids in the entire school.

8. hunter and willow dance around each other for a good year and a half after the day of unity. their friends have a betting pool going on. Hunter fell first, but Willow spent a good while trying to figure out exactly why she’s so attached to this boy. when it finally hits her she adamantly refuses to talk about it, and they are the friends everyone thinks is already dating. Luz is in agony. Amity is amused. Gus is amused. all parties involved in the bet are just eating popcorn.

9. and I only just realized this like a week ago when I was rewatching the first season with my friend, and it’s not really a headcanon but more of an interpretation I guess BUT. but of course, magic is a gift from the isles, which is the Titan. and who was with Luz when she first discovered the light glyph? King. Luz was chosen not because she was destined; she was chosen bc she wanted to love and protect her friends and family. King chose her, didn’t even realize it, because of who she is as a person. because she loves him and he loves her and this realization MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL TO THINK ABOUT. THE POWER OF CHOSEN/FOUND FAMILY IDC IF THIS DOESNT MAKE PERFECT SENSE IT DOES IN MY HEART.

She almost always has hot sauce on her there isn’t a single kind of meal she doesn’t love covered in the hot stuff.

Sleeping Habits: She sleeps well, for the most part, when she isn’t attempting to be a night owl she falls asleep relatively quick, even rivaling some of the younger Luz’s with how early she can fall asleep. It’s likely she has sleep apnea as she has tendency to snore so very loud and wakes up during the night in cold sweat, when she stops breathing from night terrors. She will oversleep until almost 2:00 in the afternoon if not monitored.

Book Preferences: She’s not a big egg-head book reader like the rest of the squad is the most Bad Boy read in school was “Animal Farm”, and The “Lord of the Flies”, in high school two books that peaked her interest a little bit. She also enjoys listening to Cottage read some horror books it’s the most she’ll really listen rather than use her eyes to read, in fact, one would say she struggles to read efficiently.

“No. Shut Up. You don’t get to talk.” Wilbur snapped.

Blinking at the accusational finger in her face. It was as well kept as Eugene’s, if but for the tucked away bits of dirt and grease. Words drying on her tongue, her gaze flicked back to Wilbur’s, incredulity meeting fury in a staring contest of wills. Taking a step back, her brow furrowed at the sudden shift in tone, both vocal and physical. Pascal tucked himself behind her hair, peeking through the strands as he waited to see what would happen. “Wilbur don’t waste your breath. She’s not worth it.” A gloved hand, notable bare at the tips, gripped said boy’s shoulder reassuringly. “Besides, I’ve already contacted security and, more importantly, Professor Granville. She can handle her.” “Varian!” Wilbur’s lip curled as she had the nerve to use a chatising tone with his friend, as though Varian was in the wrong here instead of her. “Why would you do that?” “You’re kidding me, right?” He drawled, raising an eyebrow. “Alright, Wilbur go ahead.”

Varian and Rapunzel DO NOT make up in the D-Crew AU.

He does however make up with Eugene and Lance, as they actually apologized for not realizing what was going on.

Additionally, Varian has a friends outside of Corona that are appalled by what happened (between the Lucky Cat Cafe employees and the Sutdent/Staff of SFIT there’s kind of a Varian Protection Squad going on, with Wilbur as president, Professor Granville as general, and Hiro as Head of Defense, and Aunt Cass as Supervisor)

Additionally, BOTH King Senator Frederick Der Sonne and Queen Judge Arianna Arendelle are facing long term prison terms for abuse in power, as well as many other officials for the Der Sonne Scandal

The entire police force (excluding Maximus who was serving as Rapunzel’s body gaurd with Cass during this) was terminated from their positionas and most were arrested and imprisoned as well, including Captain of the Guards Chief Rogers Capiton.

Additionally, Wilbur helped pay for a team to help Varian with studying the Rocks and the amber, dubbed Project Obsidian

They had figured out a way to gradually remove the amber without hurting Quirin using Karmi’s electricity conducting plants to break down the Amber when Rapunzel and Co. came back.

Rapunzel, needing Varian to decipher the now Entire Demanitus Scroll Laptop, decides to drop on in, thinking that the place would be abandoned and that she could explain everything to Quirin on the way to the Detention center (as where else would Varian BE but in prison?)

She had not heard of the Der Sonne Scandal yet as she hadn’t really been focusing on the news.

She’s shocked to see Varian, not only free, but working with a bunch of other people on Quirin.

He’s shocked to see her in his house.

All the others are trying to remove her from the building, as she is not certified to be there and they could lose their jobs.

She insists and evades until she’s actually at Quirin and does her hair of death trick

Dipper recognizes the magic as people drop and tries to preform a counter spell (doesn’t work as his energy’s drained)

She’s only broken out of her Trance when Varian, who was completely unaffected, punched her square in the nose

Quirin is extremely weakend by the Decay Incantation and is brought over to the hospital where he remains in a comatose state

Varian blames her, as everything had been finally working out until she burst in doing as she pleased

Rapunzels tries to profer the laptop as an offereing to get them to be friends again

He takes it back and points out that since it was his in the first place he’s not obligated to do a damn thing for her,

flat out refuses to tell her anything about the files on the laptop or return it to her, claiming since it since she too most of the pieces from his family, it was far more his than hers

Project Obisidian’s Team sue Rapunzel for damages (both to themselves nad the local environment.

As her parents assets are frozen and she never registered for the Government’s Metahuman Benefits program (think insurance for supers), she’s f*****.

Aunt Willow bails her out on the condition Rapunzel fixes her mistakes

Spoiler Aler: she doesn’t and it bites her in the a***

Let’s just say Rapunzel’s actions have some SEVERE long-term consequences, ranging from her being expelled from SFAI (so that the school doesn’t get affiliated with the Der Sonne Scandal) to Eugene breaking up with her (Rough Explanation below)

what with how she’s treating her and Cassandra like a break up gone wrong and finding out about the incidents of Rapunzel day 1, he realizes that she only fell in love with him because he happened to be the guy who got her out of the tower

Additionally her insisting that Cass isn’t the enemy, when Cass cearly wants nothing more to do with Rapunzel makes him start to believe that it wasn’t just friendship between the two

over time, he realizes that she’s not the person he fell in love with anymore

the catalyst was Cassandra’s Revenge, where Rapunzel was more worried about Eugene’s birthday party that about either Varian or the Demanitus Laptop

Breaks up with her when she’s about to propose, as they clearly want different things (him wanting to have an equal relationship where he’s not the doormat and her clearly pining for Cass)

Also, really recommend @rachelbethhines Tangled Salt Marathon if you want an in depth analysis on the Tangled the Series writing. Despite it being called a salt marathon, I find her analysis’s to be balanced and fair given the writing.

Obviously this applies in all instances but i wanna adress it with these situations in particular:You cannot remove Luz's afrolatina heritage and Willow's korean roots in the context of Lumity and Huntlow.I don't care that you make Luz a 'lovable idiot who couldn't see that Amity liked her back uwu' in your Lumity content because that's how you potray your other ships-Black people being dumb is a harmful stereotype and you shouldn't perpatuate it,especially not in 2022 of all years.And it's worth noting that Amity didn't think Luz liked her back either but nobody calls her an idiot because she's been assigned the 'smart' one in the relathionship

In coming rant. Just saw a post that really pissed me off.

I hate the concept that people see Luz as a villian. Shes not a villian! She made a lot of mistakes yes. But she was never the villian. She has adhd/is on the spectrum and was part of school that never taught her how to better deal with it or interact with people in the right way. They just blame her and her mother. No one helped. And the only way they thought they could help was sending her to a camp that gave me so many conversion thearpy camp vibes. I dont trust anyone that says luz is a villian or doesn't like her character. Like what is even the point in liking the owl house anyway than(so you can love the borning ass mary sue white girl)? And it pisses me off. People who hate her, makes me feel like they hate me because I relate to her character so much. I was her as a kid. And I'm not changing my opinion on that. I think the effect that Bk/dk has on peoples brains when it comes to bully characters needs to be studied. The way people were so quick to ship Lumity when Amity was first introduced makes me think of that horrid ship and how stupid ass fujos thought it was ~romantic~ that Bakugo was literally suicide baiting Deku five minutes into the series.

NO BECAUSE THIS!!!Amity is not a 'bullies their love interest because they like them' character,she ACTUALLY DIDN'T LIKE LUZ AT FIRST!Bully/Victim stans are so smug about how much they love ~development~ yet can't wrap their thick ass heads around the fact that it's perfectly possible for someone to start off as disliking someone but then changing their mind after becoming friends with them and that not everyone is a tsundere uwu.Furthermore,Lumity is not comparable to B*kudeku,especially not current Lumity,periodt!Amity picked on Luz a few weeks tops while Bakugou tormented Izu for an entire decade! And post character development Amity is over a million times nicer to Luz than post character development Bakugou is to Izuku.She's always being super sweet to her while he is only nice to him in life or death situations.Oh and one more thing:If y'all are thinking of a ship with an ex-bully and a cheerful character who never took their shit and who have a best friends to lovers dynamic,it ain't bk/dk-It's Kiribaku
