I wanna know ur wallmark divorce headcannons so bad
okokok. i had to type these all up separately so i could organize my ideas. i have like more in my head but they're hard to put into words so this is what you get
cw for alchoholism and general relationship issues. putting it all under the cut. remember these are just my headcanons and thoughts, nothing concrete.
General issues
Conflicting ideals on future life- Wallter being much more of a city guy, while mark prefers a rural setting.
Communication issues- Instead of talking things out they get accusatory and defensive, which means most talks end up arguments.
Further communication issues- They geniunely cannot understand the other half of the time. Wallter will attempt to be subtle in his communication, dropping hints instead of just flat out saying what he wants. Mark cannot pick up on these. Mark's direct communication sometimes comes across as rude and aggressive to Wallter.
General conflict- They have some shared interests, but there's also a lot of things that are important to them that they don't agree on. Like building materials, however silly that might sound.
Mark's issues
Alcoholism- Bit of A drunkard. He insists it isn't an issue but it is when it interferes with plans he and Wallter already had. "It would be weird if I didn't have a few with the boys after a job well done!"
Short-tempered- Which causes even more arguments over small things. (Def not physically abusive toward Wallter, even when drunk)
Abrasive personality- Mark would be more likely to make jabs or meaner jokes because he thinks everyone can take it. He wouldn't understand why someone would get upset over a joke.
He snores really loud- To the point where Wallter usually can't sleep. It builds tensions between them cus either Wallter is sleep-deprived or they never sleep in the same bed.
Dismissive- Wallter will ask/tell him about something that bothers him or something he wants as a gift for a holiday, but Mark usually won't listen.
Oblivious- Won't pick up on hints that Wallter drops, no matter the context.
Wallter's issues
Grey stuff. Wallter loves it, Mark loathes it. They argue over it.
Petty- Incredibly petty. Will make snide comments at Mark when he's upset about something.
Silent- He doesn't help at all with the communication issue, because he just flat out won't say anything! Until it's a big issue, of course. He might make hints but Mark cannot pick up on them.
Insistent on his own opinions- He will often push Mark to think like he does, instead of accepting their differences. It gets frustrating for Mark when he's constantly having to defend his thoughts.
Pretentious- Would absolutely try and take the moral high ground during arguments. He thinks talking in a level tone and not shouting means he's in the right, when really he's the one instigating most of the arguments.
Jealousy- I think he'd be the jealous type. He'd interrogate Mark about his friends and question his honesty often.
~~
I don't think there was one thing that caused the divorce, but a buildup of tension and frustration over the years of their marriage that was never managed. i think they both wanted it to work, even afterward, but neither of them are willing enough to see their issues and work on them. Even then, they kind of ruined the idea of a life with one another because of how horribly their marriage ended.
anyway these are just my initial thoughts on the two. enjoy!

How many times do you have to say it's over to someone before they comprehend that it's over?
How many times do you have to say for them to leave you alone.
To stop talking to you.
To stop texting you.
To stop.
How many times do you have to call the cops on them.
Before they get...
THAT IT'S OVER

Quick Rant! Warning: Mentions of R*pe! Please do not scroll down below if you are uncomfortable with the subject.
Marital rape is an abhorrent, unconscionable act that simply has no place in our society. To think that someone would violate their spouse in such a way is utterly incomprehensible and inexcusable. It is a crime that does not carry the same weight as sexual assault, but its harm and trauma are just as real.
Marital rape is a manifestation of the power dynamics associated with gender roles in our society, often driven by patriarchal beliefs. This type of violence is used to control and subjugate basically anybody else who is more vulnerable in the marriage; usually the wife. There is no justice in the law when it comes to marital rape. We need stricter laws and harsher punishments. It is a horrific crime and should be treated like any other sexual offense. To allow a spouse to get away with something like this is an insult to justice and any sense of morality. Marital rape is wrong.

Update:
Wellbutrin - Started off really strong with energy bursts. Still seems to be working but I might need to consult with my doctor about if I should go up a dose to see if that's a better fit.
Trazadone - failed. It wasn't putting me to sleep so I stopped.
Hydroxyzine - I think that's how it's spelled.. anyways, this seems to work. Part of me wants to try one dose higher and see if it knocks me out but at least with this one I fall asleep better than I did before and I get solid sleep. My dreams are all over the place but I'm not sure which new med that's from.
Him - we have our first counseling appointment on Thursday. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. He feels very shut off from me right now, like he's actively trying not to be lovey and sweet, and it hurts. A lot. Tonight, for the first time in days, if not weeks, he came up to me, held my hand and told me he loved me. Maybe he was feeling it, maybe he saw me upset and having a slight breakdown and wanted to ease it. I dunno. I just want him to love me again like he used to. My heart hurts. I would give up everything for him.

My dad just dragged my sister into his argument and got mad and started screaming about how girls hate men and how my sister is only siding with my mom because she's obsessed with the patriarchy. I would have laughed if I wasn't so scared
(the word patriarchy have never left my sisters mouth)
(she didn't even side with my mom, she said they were both in the wrong and she wanted to stay out of it)

Does Daniel ever stop wearing his wedding ring after Terry fucks up? Does he think about it?
Nonnie, remember Terry giving him a Claddagh ring? That's because Daniel cannot take off his wedding ring in public, that would be so destabilising as to be dangerous. The alliance between the Irish and the Italians has always been fragile, and Daniel's marriage demonstrably being on rocky ground would give dissenters on either side an opening to seize power. It might even give a completely other faction the message that Terry has lost Italian support. Per Dio, no. It would, if nothing else, potentially endanger his puppies, too.
But the Claddagh ring - Daniel taking that off, or never putting it on, wouldn't send any message to the Italians and could be explained away by Daniel not being Irish and not wanting to do it wrong or what have you, not knowing the significance of the ring if any. It's not enough of a message even for the Irish to go on. It's truly personal that way.
Daniel has taken off his wedding ring in the privacy of his cabin, when they were fighting on the way to Sicily. But it didn't feel right to him. The ring is a sign of a political alliance, a vow he made, and yes, love - but it is something he can't take off without major consequences that go beyond his feeling for his mate.
The Claddagh ring he doesn't always wear, and that's indeed what it is for, too. Wearing that, or indeed not, is something between them.

A Husband's Secret Weapon (That Shouldn't Be A Secret)
A Husband’s Secret Weapon (That Shouldn’t Be A Secret)
One of the most powerful weapons a husband has is his praying wife! Who is willing to go before the throne of God daily!!Women please understand that we men need you to pray for us to make the right decisions, to be men of integrity and seek God first in all decisions. That we will never allow ourselves to be placed in a situation that could lead us astray. That we will be the man God wants us to…

St. Patrick's Day 2022-
My husband Pete went out driving his Range Rover to hang out with friends from our country club. He was dressed in high end golf clothes. wearing his Rolex and was celebrating his close friends son getting into his college of choice. It was a day of celebration.
Pete comes home after a couple drinks and is in a bad mood. This was so odd since it was a day of celebrating. Pete turns to me and tells me he had to ask his brother-in-law for $40,000 and that my family should help. $40,000?!! Where is this coming from...I tried asking questions but I got no where so I decided to sleep on it.
