Hello, my sprites! Here we are for another wrapup ❀︎
It's been quite a busy month full of progress and creation! I'm excited to see what I've accomplished, so let's get into it!
»»—————————-γ€€π“†©β€οΈŽπ“†ͺγ€€β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”-««

➺ First of all, I created a kofi ! I’ve been more active in the community and as such, I’ve offeredΒ  to help others with tumblr theme coding, WIP graphics, and more, for free! The kofi is for those of you who would like to support what I write and do ^^
➺ In a similar vein, I created a Notion template for free use; it’s a character masterlist, includes an expanded character page template, and is completely free for any notion user.Β  (That said, Notion does offer a free premium membership for students, if you have a student email c;)
Tumblr media
➺ This month has been a major increase in activity. We welcome 52 new sprites to the Haven, for a total of 540 members! I'm elated that so many of you are interested in my work ❀︎
Tumblr media Tumblr media
➺ Along with this, I’ve reached two other milestones; 5,000 liked posts and 1,000 original posts. Honestly, I’m not too sure whether to be proud of these or not. If anything, it’s slightly unnerving to see how active I am, LOL.
➺ The writeblr list is up to 37 members and is still open to adding more! Simply fill out the form, reblog the original promo post, and I’ll tag you once I’ve added you to the Locket.
➺ North Haven Discord has reached 52 members! I’ve also worked hard to bring in new bots, reorganize realms, and allow members to share their work in a more effective manner. All writersΒ  are welcome to join, and if you do, I ask that you reblog the promo post for it!
➺ I’ve been generally more active this month, as have all of my lovely sprites! My inbox has been absolutely overflowing with asks and I’ve got plenty of tag games to work with; I’m extremely grateful for everyone’s support, and I will always get to your asks + tags.
➺ That said, I wanted to give a few mutuals a shoutout, as my community has grown quite a bit and I’ve started interacting with even more wonderful writeblrs ❀︎
@writingpotato07 @kaatiba @ink-fireplace-coffee @andromedatalksaboutstuff @aghostwriteblr @bloodlessheirbyjacques @sweetieguk @tragicbackstoryenjoyer
Each of you have been so wonderful and supportive, and I’m so grateful to have the pleasure of sharing my works with you and to get to learn about yours ❀︎

➺ I created a tag list for my writing, poetry, snippets, and more; reblog with which lists you’d like to be on! (A/N: If you want everything, you’ll be added to the β€˜general’ list)
➺ Most of my writing has been fully compiled into Google Drive and Notion, with a few straggling bits of info in notebook.ai and kumu.io. This is the closest I’ve ever gotten to having everything in one, single place!
➺ All of my characters have been noted down in Notion (or, most of them) in one big masterlist; a few have linked pages, which I’ve been slowly working on expanding!
➺ Faefinder has had a major update! I made an intro, designed some covers, and even managed to post the first part! I’m still mostly in the planning stages with this one, but at the very least I have a general idea of the direction I want to go!
➺ My blog has expanded into multiple new pages, with more yet to be added! Please welcome the following to my page list…
WIP Pages A Ghost, a Quill, and a Mockingbird Angel to Mage Fable: Servant to Dragon and King Faefinder
Character Pages Archaics Inamorata StDK (Cast) Luminaries

This marks a two month streak on monthly wrap-up posts, which I’m super proud of! It turns out that the motivation of seeing my progress laid out is more than enough to do this, and hopefully, I’ll be able to continue this next month as well. β—Έ February 2023 - Monthly Wrap-Up β—Ώ
-Β StatsΒ -
Words written this month: Don't wanna talk about it Worldbuilding Archive word count: 35,965 (+117) Books read: 1 β•°β”ˆβž€ The Atlas Six, Olivie Blake β•°β”ˆβž€ The Atlas Paradox, Olivie Blake - DNF Goals achieved: 1
Let's get straight to the point - this was a very uneventful writing month. Though my motivation to physically write was low, I have been actively worldbuilding and further developing the plots of my stories - mentally.
It also didn't help that the book I was 'reading' throughout the month of February, The Atlas Paradox, put me in a massive reading slump hence why I've DNF'ed it before March begins.
As I'm writing this post, semester one has commenced and I'm feeling very inspired and motivated to settle into a consistent writing routine. I'm really looking forward to utilising any downtime I have to spare on my hobbies.
- Goals for March -
Words: 10,000 Books: 2 Begin posting worldbuilding snippets Begin posting on Instagram
- Song of the Month - This month, I saw my favourite artist, Empire of the Sun, perform live. Their music means so much to me and has been an integral source of inspiration for the VESSEL project. I even cried during my favourite song of all time, Walking On A Dream. I would sell my soul to attend all of their concerts :,)

March grooves:- monthly song collection(wrap)-2024
Photo by Polina Kovaleva on Pexels.com March was painful and awkward for me. It involved delving into pain, healing, and emerging while holding every piece together. All my playlists helped me get through it! Just like now, while writing, I’m listening to my favourite tracks and peaceful music (for me, it’s the mantras of Mahadev). So this month, I have a few interesting…

November recap | Diwali 2023 Highlights
Just another blink of an eye and we see November 2023 is already ticking down to its final moments. The great Indian festive season came and flew away, it was quite a delightful experience, just like that momentarily embrace of a cold autumn breeze. My anxiety had been quite at its peak this year, watching how fast I must cross out the days on the calendar, nonetheless, I was fascinated (in a not…

A whole month's worth of stuff!*. I've made it 26 days with only one miss and I caught up with it the day after. 11 months and change left to go!
Everything but the daddy long legs and the hollow knight charms will be up on my etsy,, hopefully sometime in the next week or so, if I can get some nice photos of all the stuff. (The DLL 'cause it's mine and the charms 'cause I want a pic with all of them first)
*Would've been one large thing instead of two but they were WIPs at the beginning of the month

4.5* Lockwood & Co !!!! - Jonathan Stroud (will embark on physical reread once my copies arrive for slower reading)
4* Midnight for Charlie Bone - Jenny Nimmo (continuing on with the rest of the series)
4* My Sweet Orange Tree - Jose Mauro de Vasconcelos
4.5* The Long, Long Life of Trees - Fiona Stafford
4* The Fellowship: The Literary Lives of the Inklings - Philip & Diane Zaleski
BOOKS - rereads
5* The Wee Free Men - Terry Pratchett (intensely comforting to read about Tiffany's bravery again--and to be reminded that it's IMPORTANT to choose to do the right thing)
4* I Shall Wear Midnight - Terry Pratchett (loving thy neighbour!)
5* Anne of the Island - L.M. Montgomery (always a delight)
4.5* Thirst - Mary Oliver
5* The Horse and His Boy - C.S. Lewis
MUSIC
Bigger Than the Whole Sky - Taylor Swift (most listened to due to Angst about a situation)
Everything Goes On - Porter Robinson (a discovery because I was browsing Eden's playlists. I LOVE this song)
Raise a Hallelujah - Anthony Evans
Dear Happy - Gabrielle Aplin
Nobody - half alive & dodie (a new favourite!!)
Volcano - Maisie Peters (a good anger processing song)
ENTERTAINMENT
Lockwood & Co (have not shut up about it since I started watching)
Ponyo - rewatch (delightful as always though holding less charm somehow. I guess childhood favourites have a certain glow because your childhood imagination adds to the story)
Rosaline (surprisingly delightful!)

June 2023 Book Wrap-Up
Aside from The Blacktongue Thief, which was a carry-over from last month, I made it my goal to read books with prominent LGBT+ themes this month.
'The Blacktongue Thief' by Christopher Buehlman - 5/5 - the audiobook is narrated by the author and was a great experience! While the plot itself is a relatively straightforward old fashioned quest, the journey and the way it's told is what sets it apart. The world feels vibrant and lived-in, with the slang and dialogue helping here, and it doesnt pull its punches to establish the horrific aspects of the setting. The characters are bunch of loveable rogues, the protagonist Kinch being especially memorable as a fine example of a wet rat gremlin man we love to see.
'Some Desperate Glory' by Emily Tesh - 4.5/5 - felt it was too strong to just leave as 4*, but it didn't quite grab me as much as some others this month. But still, I did love it, and it's take on the 'what if humans were seen as space orcs', the portrayal of a fascist war cult, and the deprogramming of the protagonist was great. It was also really funn to read and packed a lot of emotional punches.
'In The Lives Of Puppets' by TJ Klune - 4/5 - a bit on the weaker side of a 4*, and didn't love it like I did Cerulean Sea, but still pretty fun. It's more of a straightforward adventure/coming of age tale, nothing too different from the usual, goes heavy on the robot tropes. Felt it needed a little something more to really work, but it's still sweet and fun and heartwarming. Klune dials up the crass humour here, so that could be a problem for some.
'The Raven Tower' by Ann Leckie - 3/5 - what a disappointment, especially from the author who gave us Ancillary Justice. To be clear, I did really like Strength And Patience's half of the story, and the gods and how they worked was fascinating. But Eolo's side of the story was a snorefest, made worse by Eolo himself being a cipher of a character with no interesting personality traits or interiority to latch onto, not helped by the second-person narration here. The second-person narration was an interesting experiment, but ultimately nothing worthwhile came of it, and if anything it was a hindrance.
'A Marvellous Light' and 'A Restless Truth' by Freya Marske - 4/5 - solidly enjoyable series that somehow combines 'historical fantasy' with 'gay romance' and makes it work well. It's got the 'new couple to focus on getting together each book' of romance novels, but also got a solid mystery, worldbuilding and ongoing plot. I think I enjoyed A Restless Truth a bit more, mostly due to vibing more with the couple there, and the supporting characters and the ship environment were fun.
'The Seep' by Chana Porter - 5/5 - This book hurt me, but in the best way. Powerful, raw and reflective, this one really resonated with me. It had the kind of interpersonal conflicts I love, where no one is really in the wrong but their different viewpoints cannot be reconciled. The world it paints is arguably a genuine utopia, albeit an alien one, but the dilemmas that still emerge despite that and the feeling of not belonging in such a world are portrayed so well.
'Princess Floralinda And The Forty-Flight Tower' by Tamsyn Muir - 5/5 - Pretty much confirms I will read and love anything Tamsyn Muir writes. Smart, charming and darkly hilarious, with excellent pacing that matches the tone and point of the story, and a perfect ending. Technically a fairytale parody, but also a kind of corruption arc and 'enclosed environment survival and problem-solving with limited resources' kind of story. The characters are memorable and kind of horrible but in a good way. Moira Quirk does a great job as the audiobook narrator. I just wish it was available as a physical copy for a reasonable price.
'Pet' by Akwaeke Emezi - 3/5 - I wanted to love this one, I really did and thought I would given the good reviews, and I think it is good at doing what it set our to do. The problem is it is an 'English Classroom Book', and so is very didactic and about a Very Important Topic. The prose is accessible and pleasant, the setting and message of positivity and uplifting of marginalised groups is lovely. But it's just so didactic and everything else comes second to that. This is more of a me thing than a fault of the book.
'Carry On' - Rainbow Rowell - 4/5 - late to the party here, but it certainly was a fun one. The characters are loveable and interesting takes on what they're based on, and honestly it was great to see the meta-commentary on HP and chosen ones. Perhaps felt a bit too small-scale and reliant on knowledge of HP for me to fully enjoy, but a lot of these stylistic choices felt like a commentary on fanfic.

Sorry I know this is gonna seem rude but how can you have so many books if you’re as broke as you say you are?
Lmao correct this is rather rude
BUT
I get you.
A few reasons.
One, I bought quite a lot of books back when I first joined bookstagram and there were SO MANY good recs and I was healthier then and able to work full time so I could afford the books I was buying. I was buying much quicker than I could read. πŸ˜…
Two, I buy second hand a lot now. I’ll rarely pay over $5 for a book these days aside from a select few highly anticipated reads that I’ll pay full price for if/when I can afford to.
Three, gifts. I have a lot of very generous friends in real life and in the bookish community. It still seems absurd to me that so many people are willing to fund my book addiction but I will always be stupidly grateful.
Four, I get publisher ARCs (advanced reader copies) both physical and digital, which I obviously prioritise, which means the older purchases have lasted much longer than they otherwise would have.
Five, I do also neglect my physical tbr in favour of library books a bit. Libraries are such a great resource!!! And a lot of libraries will let you join for their digital catalogue without getting a physical card/proving you live in the area.
If you’re interested in any way, over on my bookstagram with my monthly wrapups, I share stats on how many of my reads each months are publisher arcs, netgalleys, gifts, new purchases or backlist reads, and at the end of the year I share my overall acquired (in its many forms) vs read stats

Hello, my sprites! The Haven is progressing ❀︎
First, I want to thank my sweetest @365runesofwriting for so graciously allowing me to take inspiration from their monthly wrapup; I'm not sure whether I'll be able to keep up with this, but I would certainly like to try!
(I'll also be lumping in August, in terms of posts.)
Without further ado, let's see what I've been up to this month...

➺ After returning from quite a long break, I'm pleased to report the haven has nearly reached the Five Hundred Follower Milestone! During this month, 45 new sprites made their way to safety.
➺ During this time, I also updated my blog theme, colors, and pages. I now have a new masterlist of my works, a character library (WIP), and I plan on making an expanded navigation page in the future!
➺ I opened my discord server, North Haven, to the writeblr public; a space for writers to share their work in specialized categories and/or channels, known as 'realms,' as well as participate in sprints and QotD!
➺ Created a masterlist of writeblr blogs, known as The Locket and it already has 36 blogs! I very much hope for that number to continue to grow.
➺ I've managed to go into more detail when answering asks, and I've even done my best to focus on only a few WIPs to help followers connect to my works better; Servant to Dragon and King and Fable
➺ Though I've had my blog for a while, I joined a whole new writeblr community, and I've met so many wonderful new mutuals since. As such, I can't help but mention a few that have been especially welcoming, in no particular order:
@midnight-and-his-melodiverse @queerlilchinchin @perasperaadastrawriting @antihell @orphicpoieses @marinesocks @enchanted-lightning-aes @italiangothicwriteblr @memento-morri-writes
Please know that if I had the energy, I would absolutely go into detail for each of you. You've all been super supportive and engaging, and I can't wait to see what we create next!

The summer leading up to this month has been quite long... that said, I've made a lot more progress than I ever expected!
➺ After stepping away permanently from my coauthor of 5 years, I've managed to detach my work from theirs; my characters stand proudly on their own, joined by quite a few new ones, and my worlds are blazing brighter than ever
➺ I now have two universes; Alatheia, and now Elysia. ➺ I also have three new planets; Firma, Lockehaven, and Lumia.
➺ Old WIPs have been archived, with a few pages dusted off and rewritten to fit my current world.
➺ I started a new project, Faefinder; a WIP still in its very early stages of brainstorming and research, and a setting I've not used before. ➺ I began writing Angel to Mage; a WIP that for now is a collection of snippets in the hero x villain style, and is another concept I've not worked with before.
➺ I've built up pinterest boards for quite a few of my characters and developed others. ➺ Character playlists have been cleaned up and expanded. ➺ Introduced Myhren & Fable

This month hasn't been a very productive one for me. I found over the course of the month, I only wrote on a handful of days, with the trend being I'd write one week and not the next. Given that I'm only working at the moment (currently on university summer break), I thought I would have surpassed my monthly goal of 10k words, which was obviously not the case.
I'm going to put this up to the fact that my work schedule is all over the place due to sudden changes in the office. I need a structured, consistent week in order to function and get shit done! Good news, though - university starts back at the end of this month, so order shall be restored in due time!
Other than that, I haven't made much progress in plotting any of my WIPs, however ideas are definitely cooking (aka being developed) in my mind.

Q: What was your favorite read of February?. *waves from under the abyss* Hello, I am in-fact still alive and did remember that I once did monthly wrap up posts! I haven’t one of these since -checks- October 2022….its been a hot minute. I’ve missed doing these though and am going to try and go backdate the previous months, but for now, let’s see how my February went! ✈️ I traveled to Atlanta, GA for 6 days for work, which was actually incredibly stressful and not at all fun sadly! I attended the book launch for Revelle by Lyssa Mia Smith at Books of Wonder in NYC, and I attended an early screening of Daisy Jones & The Six which included a talk with the cast/creators afterwards! 🎭 I attended 3 concerts and saw 3 Broadway shows. And last but not least – I read 4 books this month. Life isn’t slowing down anytime soon but I’m trying to fit reading in when and where I can! My favorite February reads: πŸ’Ž Revelle by Lyssa Mia Smith - If you tell me a story is inspired by Moulin Rouge, I’m immediately interested. Add a magic system and make it a historical fiction with fantasy – I’m sold! I’ve been eagerly anticipating Revelle and it did not disappoint! It sparkled like the jewels used in this story. 🎢 Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (reread): Not to be dramatic, but this is one of my favorite books of all time and it’s truly perfect. I love music. I love books. I love books about music. This story is incredible and I’m so glad I decided to reread it! Why is it that Taylor Jenkins Reid’s best books will always make me cry at the end? SO MUCH EMOTION IN THIS STORY!! #FebruaryWrapUp #WrapUp #MonthlyWrapup #MonthlyReads #FebruaryReads #BookReviewer #BookBlogger #Bookstagram #Bookish #Bibliophile #Bookworm #BoostingYA #BookishLife #BooksOfIG #Bookstagrammer #boostingya #TenThousandDoorsofJanuary #Revelle #RevelleBook #DaisyJonesandtheSix #TheLuminaries https://www.instagram.com/p/CplCaecAKQE/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

monthly wrapup
Short month but big month!
Reading
Finished reading Snapecase fics. Lots of awesome Snape fics. You can read them on AO3. Need to write comments but that’s going to be a March project.
Read the latest updates on The Afterlight. I am not really a WIP reader but PI’s fics are my one big exception. Like give me a good reason not to read 10K of hot Snarry mess updates. Gosh they are so messed up and perfect.Β  Need to write a comment which is not just GUH!!
Started catching up with Danni’s prolific February. Gray Eyes (Tell No Lies) is the hottest Draco/Sirius I have read. Also Hatefuck is perfect Snarry vibes. Also Lovestruck has tons of possessive Harry which is one of my favorite things ever. Plus it’s set in Contemptverse, my fav Snarry fic of 2022!!Β  HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Started reading ALOTO series Love & Baseball by Billsfangearring who had a prolific February with some amazing fics. Also behind on commenting.
Finished group crying with some HotD friends about the last cut piece from eldritcher’s Ossuarium. This was pretty emotional because the fic was so huge for us in the last few months. Also respect for eldritcher who not only completed 250K of the formal fic in like 2 months but also posted every single last cut/draft when folks requested it...which was an additional 320K. So we got 570K of Ossuarium and it’s honestly the best thing I have read. Sometimes fics drag on for too long or kind of drag in the beginning/middle/towards the end. Ossuarium is super compact despite the word count and doesn’t really have a single dragging moment. Absolutely phenomenal. I was also personally really sad to see it ending because eldritcher has been pretty vocal for months that this is the last symphonic cycle they are doing in fic which is why they went above and beyond. I hope that’s not the case. But it’s definitely the best series I have read. It was super thrilling to follow it from the beginning. Also really behind on commenting
Recs
10 Femslash Fic recs with 10 Age Gap Pairings with Hermione for Femslash February.
5 snapecase recs
Need to make AO3 collections for them.Β  Pretty behind on reccing.Β
Movies/Books
I saw Cocaine Bear! Life changing. Is it any good? Nope. But it’s definitely more fun compared to MCU anything. YMMV of course.
Also finished reading The Furrows by Namwali Sepwell. Actually if you like imagery/poetry you are probably going to like this book. I liked the first half but I feel like it didn’t really emotionally connect with me after that. Which is pretty unexpected because normally I am a sucker for this type of prose. Maybe I need to read it again sometime.Β
RL has been busy so I am just kind of behind on fandom stuff.Β  Layoffs at work but I kept my job for now which is nice. Super busy and somehow doing more work to compensate for the folks laid off... Also into capitalism sucks memes right now for some reason :DΒ
