blacklit paradise au! — aftermath —

“You’re smoking?” Jay startles at Sarah’s voice, quickly taking the cigarette out of his mouth, about to crush it out in the glass ashtray sitting on the small table he keeps on the balcony of his apartment but Sarah shakes her head to stop him.

“Don’t tell Voight.” She lets out a small puff of air, Jay thinks it’s an attempt at a laugh.

“Calm down I won’t tell your boss you’re smoking, your brother on the other hand…” Reese trails off and grins when Jay glares at her.

“Don’t you dare.” He points his two fingers holding the cigarette at her with a serious tone, though the smile on his lips cuts through it all. He’s just happy Sarah’s outside, and smiling.

“Your secrets safe with me.” The plastic chair Sarah pulls to sit in front of Jay makes a scraping noise against the concrete. It sounds oddly like the scrape of the dresser in front of the door the night Jay had to— he shakes the thought away, taking a drag of his cigarette and holding it a little longer than normal.

“Natalie went back to work today, I’m officially the last one left.” Sarah tries to sound nonchalant but Jay can see the hurt written across her face as she plucks Jay’s half drunk soda from the table, looking anywhere but at Halstead.

“You’re allowed to take your time, your stitches haven’t even healed.” He assures and leans his elbows onto his knees, a way to be closer to Sarah, as if some threat is going to pop out of nowhere and he’ll need to jump up to save her. God he feels like he did when he got home from Afghanistan, which is a scary thought he chooses to ignore.

“I know, that’s all anyone’s been telling me. I just- I’m staying in your apartment, waking up either panicking so bad I throw up or start sobbing, I can’t even look at my own clothes so I’ve been wearing yours and- I just feel so fucking broken.” Her chest heaves as she sighs, sipping at the coke in her hands, leg bouncing against the chair under her.

“Hey I haven’t gone back to work either, and I catch myself counting your breaths when you’re sleeping on the couch, and I triple check the doors locked after I come home, and I could keep going. The point is, we’re both going through a lot and that’s okay, we’re gonna be okay.” Their eyes meet and Sarah nods faintly before bringing her drink to her lips again.

“But stop stealing my drinks.”

Here are the oc primes for my bullshitted up prime lineage list!

Said list:

I noticed on the tfwiki that on the "prime disambiguation" that Nova was listed as both in marvel-g1 as "Prime Nova" and in IDWG1 as "Nova Prime" and while they're probably just two different iterations of the same character in canon, I thought it would be fucking funny if in a homeblend continuity there was two and the latter is more infamous than the latter.

Okay pulling up the wiki again I just saw "Primon" existed and that he apparently existed before Prima, even though Prima is considered the first prime to get the Matrix, but since it seems like tfwiki has goddamn idea what to think about him either for now I'm excluding him even thought this was explicitly the "add as many primes as possible to a lineage" list.

This is 100% inspired by "Nor Is He Early", which I need to check up on again because I've been letting it update a bit more before I started reading again so that we could have a sizable session. But it's also inspired by me sitting down and realizing in various continuities there aren't actually that many primes and that when you scale it up to their lifespans, cybertronian history seems rather short. Or who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

I was about to go to sleep and saw the angst nooo.

But now I can't stop thinking about MC waking up in the hospital after getting hurt protecting the ROs. Like they escaped death just barely, and it takes a couple days for them to wake up. And they do to the RO gripping their hand, face pressed against their stomach, pleading to whatever entity you wake up, soft muttering barely heard above the mechanical beeps.

You open your eyes slowly, a weight pressed gently against your stomach. There's the sound of mechanical beeping coming from somewhere to your right, and you squint your eyes when you accidentally look up at the bright white light in the room. It bounces off the white walls, and you let out a soft painful groan when you realize that you're sore... Everywhere.

Zane: His head lifts up and he stares at you in awe, he pushes himself closer and gently grabs your shoulder "shh... shh... You're okay" ey whispers, eir voice breaking "don't move. You're okay."

Evander: He immediately pulls away from you, eyes wide in shock- then realizing his mistake he grabs your hand again. He squeezes it tightly and grins "you're awake! holy shit- we need to call the doctor!"

Aimé: Xe pulls back from you, xyr cheeks have dry streaks of red on them. Xe immediately smiles, a laugh bubbling up inside xyr before xe lets it out "oh- Mc." xe squeezes your hand "never do that again, I beg you."

Nova: She doesn't move from her place, but you feel Nova squeeze your hand. "Oh- thank you" they speak into your stomach, shoulders shaking "thank you for waking up, I dont know what I would've done without you" Nova turns their head to look up at you, their gold eyes shining with tears.

Kane: Kane's lips immediately find your own dry and chapped ones, holy shit they're fast! You groan in pain again- making them yelp and pull away "sorry!" they cry out, grabbing onto your hand and squeezing, a giant smile in place "I'm so happy you're back- dont ever leave me like this again!" they lift your hand up and kiss your knuckles lovingly.

Dear Future Nova,

Being abducted by aliens was one of the greatest experiences I've had so far. Our therapist recommended starting a journal to "process my emotions" so here we are. Most of the details about the event itself are pretty hazy, but I woke up the next day feeling so calm and rested. Unfortunately I've been dealing with nausea and vertigo for the last two weeks since I returned. I half-jokingly bought a pregnancy test today but didn't expect it to come back positive. How is Ari going to react to me carrying an alien bastard child? We've been dating for three months but have been too focused on our careers to even think about having children.
