ADBK: King of Yamimakai
Epithet: The Painmaster General
Voice Actor: David Moo
Tribe: The Undead Oligarchy
Biography: In a feat of unfathomable irony, the self-proclaimed King of Yamimakai has no real political power regarding ruling in his home Tribe. Originally named Electrode of Yamimakai, he was originally merely the tax collector for the Pit of Hate, he longed to have some actual commanding position in the army due to his strength surpassing many of his peers. He found an opportunity to get out of his 'dead-end job' thanks to an up-and-coming usurper named Zorc Necrophades.
After deposing Summoned Skull, Zorc rewarded Electrode, along with several other allies such as Barox, Metal Guardian and Dark Chimera by making them generals of his armies. He renamed himself King of Yamimakai as a symbol of his new position, and became the unofficial ruler of the Pit of Hate in Zorc's stead.
The only problem, as far as his powers are concerned, is that he's completely blind. He can only 'see' by using his heightened senses, and using them to aim his Electroshock Attacks at the enemy. As such, he usually attacks at night, but bright bursts of light are enough to disorientate him.
Because of this, the King has had his share of defeats over the years. However, thanks to a pact with Pumpking, Zorc can revive his army should any of his men fall, the only catch being it takes a few days to do so successfully. That being said, don't mistake this as him being weak, as he's one of Zorc's main generals for a reason, usually alongside the hardy Metal Guardian.

The next round of miniatures will be focusing on the Rakdos! You can see my prior round ups for Gruul, Dimir, and Golgari
Rakdos was fun to pull together. There’s a lovely spread from actually horrifying to honestly a bit silly, and i think that fits best for whatever “vibe” you want at a time. Plus a lot of the minis can be free handed and have minor alterations made to have some more... unsettling details.

Someone once told me “you know, if you were in a video game or a story they wouldn’t need to change anything about you because you’re just that much of a character on your own,” and honestly that’s the highest praise I’ve ever gotten.

Indeed, more than a few times, but I’ve been able to catch people off guard at least as many times as people have guessed my plots right so I don’t mind owo

COMMENTS! ANYTHING can help me get going on a thing!! even if it’s just like “woa dude nice” I’ll go like “heck yeah they said it’s nice” and just write the entire next chapter or part of a thing.
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
you know I was once called the PainMaster by a small group of my peers and honestly? The title still fits. I have yet to write something successfully where it’s just a good time.

Since the 1950’s Magical Girls have always been a source of inspiration and role models to young girls, upholding the tenets of truth, justice and love, but how well would that hold up in real life? Well in 2011 Painmaster Gen Urobuchi decided to give us an answer. Knowing him for his work on shows like Fate/Zero and Kamen Rider Gaim, I kinda went in knowing that these precious young girls were gonna have a bad time. Boy, was I right!
Meet Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki, two average teenage girl in Mitakihara city, who meet an unusual new transfer student. Homura Akemi seems to know a little too much, delivers cryptic ultimatums, and tries to kill cute little cat… creature… things. Said cat-thing is a sentient being known as Kyubey, and after being saved by Madoka and Sayaka, offers the two of them a chance to be Magical Girls by granting them any one wish. Sounds fantastic, until people start dying… Misinformation, evil witches and other hostile Magical Girls await this sad macabre tale of sadness.
Madoka Kaname seems to be the focal point of all these events. Homura seems adamant, almost zealous about stopping her from making a wish and becoming a Magical Girl, while Kyubey is equally as determined to grant whatever wish Madoka will eventually settle on. As she is being tugged in a hundred different directions by the events unfolding around her as well as her own fears and compulsions she soon realises that her decision could make all the difference in this tragedy.
Sayaka Miki on the other hand is far more driven and determined than the timid Madoka. Hot blooded and willing to pick a fight, she seems very keen on the idea of becoming a Magical Girl and protecting the world and it’s people from witches. It also help that the wish she is thinking of making, is to help the boy she is very taken with, get out of the hospital. However she will soon find out that love sometimes does not conquer all and that helping others thanklessly is MUCH harder than it seems on tv.
Homura Akemi is a bit of a mystery, not only because she haves foresight bordering on precognition, and she seems to have a vendetta against the adorable Kyubey, but also because she first appeared to Madoka in a dream. How ever she is remarkable cold and aloof, bordering on outright hostility towards some of the other Magical Girls. Her motivations seem rather scattered as well, but one thing remains certain is her protection of Madoka. She will ether be the most helpful or the most dangerous of individuals, time will tell.
In closing, I have one recommendation to anyone watching this show, go in cold. The less you know about Urobuchi’s work the better, and as I had already seen Fate/Zero, Kamen Rider Gaim, and the show he reportedly drew inspiration from, Kamen Rider Ryuki, I kinda knew what I was getting into. However that didn’t stop this from being a hellishly fun ride, I found myself yelling at the screen, cackling with morbid, giddy revelation, and choking back tears within 13 episodes. It does not waste time. If you are a fan of Magical Girl anime, cosmic horror, or just really clean written anime, this is definitely worth your time, It certainly was worth mine.
