Sorry it’s kinda short. I wasn't feeling this prompt for some reason :/ hope you like it at least a little

-100% tricked when your toddler was a baby, they pretty quiet and went to bed without too much of a fuss

-Apparently they were just saving all their energy for when they hit year 2

-Very much like jinx in the good but slightly tiering way very artistic (though you struggle to figure out what they’re drawing) and always running around jumping off of something (which stresses the both you out to no end)

-VERY early on you realized how no toddler proof jinx’s lab is, which might seem obvious but when the both of you spent 90% of your time there you forget that the treasure chest of explosive is completely in reach for toddlers

-timeskip to 2 days later you’ve finished baby proofing it (probably) after that one you both really started to realize how stressful it is to much sure your kid is safe, not even in Jinx’s lab just living in the undercity

-This leads the both of you to become very protective of them (even more than before if it’s even possible) they will NEVER be allowed in the last drops bar no matter how old they are, any new staff will be going through teens stalking someone on the internet level background checks.

-Toddler is also 100% spoiled neither you or Jinx grew up with a lot so the baby will have anything they could want (maybe your both using it as a way to heal your inner child) + with silco king pen of the undercity they have the ultimate protection and spoil-y grandpa

-jinx makes HUNDREDS of little toys and crap for them

-on the more angsty side it was a real struggle to find a way for Jinx to be around as much as she wants to be with her episodes, she is prone to be way more reactive and violent

-Another thing that the both of you noticed pretty early on thankfully, you came up with a system just a random word or phrase maybe a noise to let you know when she could feel any kind of episode coming on and when she was already in one it was pretty obvious so you could take toddler somewhere/with someone safe so you could tend to Jinx

-This of course lead to you pretty often finding Jinx crying about how she was a ‘terrible mom’ you would always hold her and tell her how it wasn’t her fault and how being parent was going to be a wildly different experience for someone with mental illness

-and of course she does the same thing for you if you ever feel like you’ve failed as a parent in some way

-Jinx she wasn’t really old enough to remember much of her bio parents and even though Vander was a good father she didn’t get to be around him for very long and Silco isn’t really the best role model for what to be as a parent and if the you didn’t have a great parent you both feel like your not prepared to be parents

-not really knowing what should really be considered right or wrong while still wanting to let your kid know they do what they need to in order to protect themselves +when the hell do you even have that talk with your 2 year old??

-Jinx also being depressed about how your kid will never know their aunt, uncles or grandma and grandpas thinking it’s her fault

-She tries to find pictures of them and is only partly successful so she draws pictures of them too

-Being a parent in general is so hard already with tantrums, getting a toddler to sleep, feeding them, entertaining them, education (is there even a proper education system in the Undercity???), making sure they feel safe and loved.

-But all that in the first place but that as first time parents living in the undercity with at least one mentally ill parent???

-In the end no matter how tired ya’ll are you both love your toddler more than anything in the world and would commit multiple war crimes for them

Lil' comic of a scene from a fic I haven't gotten around to writing.

(basically Vi and Jinx have reconciled, Silco is alive, and Vi is begrudingly finding herself beginning to look up Silco as a mentor/father figure. She accompanies him on an errand run, one of which winds them up at the old cannery, and emotions bubble up biiig time 🥲)

Something I find neat about Silco and Jinx is how Jinx was made in fire

While Silco was made in water

And this reflects very clearly into their personalities.

Silco's calm, powerful, and adaptable.

On the surface it's calm blue waters but underneath he's the current that guides the ship that is the under city.

And trying to cross him is like going against a hurricane. You can try to fight a force of nature, but really the only result will be drowning.

Meanwhile, Jinx is loud, explosive, and chaotic.

She has a creative spark that she channels through her weapons and art, and all of it is unabashedly bright with explosions and neon colors.

Emotionally she fluctuates and grabs onto any fuel that comes her way. One moment she's a candle and the next she's a wildfire and you can never predict which one you will get.

But then the show runners swap the roles with visual design.

Silco's got a red and gold color motif, a scar that looks like a burn, and an orange eye.

Jinx has long blue hair and tattoos that look almost like waves.

Silco's water, but looks like fire, and Jinx is fire, but looks like water.

Before the first season of Arcane premiered Riot released this interactive visual novel for the Riot x Arcane event. The setting was a hybrid of LoL and Arcane's universe, Piltover literally on top of Zaun, Cait is the Sheriff, but characters like Silco exist. The whole premise for the story is that Jinx stole some hextech and tapped into the Arcane oand opened a rift between worlds.

That's a lot. Personally I enjoyed this more to just see some characters out in the wild. Silco gets to be his charming self to you, the self-insert reader that's trying to find the culprit of the heist, which he knows was his kid.

Here's Jayce hating on Silco for something Jinx did.

This came out before the show did, so it's interesting to see how the game wants us perceive the characters' dynamics before we get further depth from the show. Most of it's related to Jinx because she makes herself the center of controversy.

For characters like Vi, who's already an enforcer that works directly under Sheriff Caitlyn in this world, she's clearly over Jinx's actions and wants to squash any further escalations.

Sevika is just as harsh and plainly sick of Jinx. I do find it interesting that the novel makes it clear tha Sevika believes that Jinx deserves some kind of punishment, though Jinx did endanger them all by ripping realities into eachother.

The only sympathetic voice outside of Silco in this story comes from Viktor, who after finding out Jinx was responsible for the Rift between realities asks you to remember that she's a real person that lived a life just like him. He goes so far as to contemplate another way to solve the situation and avoid a confrontation that may end with terrible consequences. (It's wild because the show then dedicates a whole scene to him defusing one of her bombs).

My favorite part is near the end where Silco tries to stop Jinx from harnessing anymore Arcane energy because it threatens to upend their reality.

I WISH they got to talk like this to eachother in the show, but so much was happening already. Even better Jinx gets the last words in and it justlays out what's ALWAYS been there.

This scene helped me understand that Jinx was always going to fire her rocket at the council, because she and Silco have both always been motivated to by power. They both know what it's like to be perceived as "weak" and they way it destroyed their lives respectively. It's kind of the reverse of what Mel and Ambessa have going on, you've got the diplomatic intrigue parent and the militarily minded daughter who wants to go further and absolutely will when you're not looking. And that's always been the thing with Jinx, if you give her any form of power, either a gun, a grenade, a rocket, or even magic she will take it and she will use it.

Right after this confrontation you have to defeat Jinx with the Power of Friednship or something (it's been a while). But even as put an end to the near calamity Jinx created there's at least one voice before it ends affirming Jinx's personhood.

It's weird honestly, Jinx didn't turn into vapor or anything, the story's pretty vague about what happens as you try to defeat her.

Well the novel's good when it's good anyway.

listen listen listen listen. i am never going to get over singed & viktor. CAN YOU IMAGINE THE MENTAL ANGUISH. THE MESS OF EMOTIONS VIKTOR HAS TO DEAL WITH. he's so steadfast with his morals and ideals. hextech must not be weaponized. dangerous science is fine as long as the only person at risk of getting hurt is me. the moment it kills someone else he's fucking BROKEN by it and just throws in the gd towel. YET SINGED WAS THE ONE WHO TAUGHT HIM. like just. imagine, ok. imagine— take the premise that singed & viktor were actually pretty close. viktor was lonely as a kid, but he found company in rio. in singed. singed provides a space and opportunity for viktor to do his science stuff. "we can be loners together." here's someone he probably has a decent amount of affection and respect for, maybe even admires like a kid would a mentor/role model/parental figure. and he hurts rio. and viktor doesn't understand, he can't reconcile this. "we can be loners together," but also, "you did this?" viktor's got like a whole slew of emotions to deal with. What the fuck? How could you? I hate you. But also, "I told you, I was consulting a friend about our quandary."

"You built this? Why aren't you playing with the others?"

"We can be loners together."

Like just what are you supposed to do when someone who provided for you — who took care of you, who looked after you as a kid — hurts someone? Someone that you care about? What the FUCK are you supposed to when that person is willing to torture and kill for science — something that you are also passionate about, the very thing you both found commonality in, bonded over — and does it all without even a hint of remorse? What are you supposed to think?

Are you allowed to find comfort and safety in that person anymore? Can you still have good memories about them, and look back at them fondly? Can you be thankful for all the good that person's done for you?

What does it say about you, if they're the one who influenced you so much so early in your life, and here they are now?

Viktor gets Sky killed, and can you imagine what must've been running through his head? I'm no better than him. I'm turning out just like him. I am just like him. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

The family dogs we've loved and lost.

Jessie was a Rough Collie. She died when I was around 3. My mum bought her when she was 18 fresh out of leaving home.

Ruby was a Golden Retriever rehome we got in Gunnedah in 1999, she died from cancer in 2010. She was a wonderful dog, the one my dad compares every dog to.

Stella was my puppy for my 9th birthday, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She disappeared from our front yard in 2011. It was the most devastating experience of my life. She was the best dog, so friendly and gentle and cuddly. She was my best friend.

Bicky was my sister's dog who was dumped along with her litter at the pet shop my sister worked at. All the other puppies got adopted by customers so my sister took the last one. We didn't know what kind of mix she was, but in hindsight she appeared to be terrier and spitz. She died tragically from an infection at age 7. She was obsessed with swimming and fetch.

Jinx was my brother-in-law's dog, a suspected wolfhound mix. She was a disaster all her life, difficult and dangerous and she made it to 12 years old, managed carefully (and sometimes not so carefully) her whole life.

Silco was a good dad, silco was a bad dad...

Ma'am, he was human. And those aren't perfect. Far from a dad of the year award. He was very flawed and made a lot of mistakes in rising Jinx, the biggest one was weaponizing her anger and confusion. He allowed her to lash out and wreck everything... Encourage her to build a bomb (wtf dude????)

But he made her feel loved and understood.

Here is how I very personally see those family relationships in Arcane. My father is very much Vander type, also built like him, the man of muscle, a big and strong person. He bonds really well with my brother bc they have things in common, they are very much alike and understand each other well. Like Vander and Vi. But I was born a petit girl. Skinny, bony, not into sports, muscle and being big. Into some artsy stuff that aren't interesting like a football game. And we never had anything incommon. Just like Powder and Vander don't. Vander doesn't understand Powder/Jinx. She doesn't feel valuable, she doesn't feel enough since in her family, what matters is strength of your hands, being big, brave, being like a lion not a mouse.

Here is why I and probably a lot of girls out there love character of Silco so much. He UNDERSTANDS. He listens, empathysies and shows that he understands. And for some people, all they ever wanted was to be seen and understood.

Funny but he always reminded me of my mom. Not in the weird creepy way that he is as a villain. In a way that he is skinny and calm, he doesn't scream much, but he patiently explains or gives his point of view. He shows understanding and supports his daughter, wants her to be stronger, no more afraid, no more helpless in the brutal world. He makes Jinx feel seen, appreciated and loved. He seems cold and strict but clearly cares about Jinx a lot and SHOWS that. And they TALK with one another, sorting out the problem. Did Vander talked to Jinx? No, he took Vi for a private conversation, and that's great, very natural, but he was never shows sitting with Jinx for a moment to check how she feels and to tell that her invetions will work some day, and that it's not the end of the world if it didn't work today. And it doesn't seem like something he would do. But Silco knows how it feels to live in the shadow of people bigger then you, how it feels to never be first, or having to listen to people who rise their voice or scream to make their argument or point of view matter more.

And having to choose who I would rather have as a father... Perhaps Vander would be healthier, if you are like Vi or Clogger. But I would rather feel loved and understood. Or at last seen.

His breath hitched as you bent over to pick up the unlit cigar that had rolled off his desk, giving him a good look at your back side. This was just a nail in a coffin that he had been building himself for months now.

You did such good work for him, and you had the most patience for Jinx, but you also had a very good heart and went out of your way for both him and his vision.

Of course, at first Silco attributed these softer thoughts of you to these factors, but then you started going out of your way to do things for him. There was always a cut cigar and a clean glass on his desk, the way you had his work laid out to make it less overwhelming, his jacket pressed and ready at all times. The way you would stare down Finn when he came to whine at him. That really did it for him.

Letting out a long breath as you stood up and checked to see if the cigar wasn't dirty or broken, releasing him from that hold. Now he was finding you physically attractive and it short-circuit his brain.

"Silco?" You had said his name 3 times now.

"Yes." It came out a bit surprised, making him clear his throat. "Yes, y/n?"

You smiled, seeing that there was a slight red tinge on his ears. You would never tell him, but you saw it. "You alright? Need anything else?" You held the cigar out to him.

He took the cigar and felt the heat of your body next to him as you flipped a match and lit it for him. After a large inhale from the cigar, he sat back and rubbed his forehead. "No, that will be all. Thank you."

You gave him a smile when he said thank you and then left him to his work.

When the silence fell over the room, he sat forward, muttering. "Shit."

From above, he heard a giggle. Of course, she was there.

"I saaaaw thaaat." Jinx said in a sing song voice.
