Thinking about Robin and Vivi having their first conversation after the events of Alabasta

Vivi knows that she can trust her. She knows that Luffy trusts her and that she should to. She acts professionally to Robin. She acts like a princess.

Yet she cannot forgive Robin. It's apparent to everyone when they meet for the first time. Robin aided in the almost destruction and over throwing of Vivi's country, the thing that Vivi cares the most for, even more than her own life.

Robin knows an apology is not what Vivi needs nor what she wants because Vivi will never be able to forgive her. Vivi gets along because they're technically on the same crew. They're supposed to be nakama. Robin has protected their friends time and time again.

Robin tells Vivi of her past, of the Buster Call. She understands how Vivi feels. She knows how it is to have her country, her friends, her family, ripped away right in front of your eyes.

Vivi doesn't forgive her. She can't. But she understands Robin a bit more. They have mutual respect for each other.

Robin, the devil child from O'Hara and Vivi, the princess of Alabasta. A friendship based on mutual respect and love of their countries.

do you ever think about how in the day i picked up dazai side b dazai had to lie emotionless and soulless—like a corpse, almost—beside the man that gently brought him in, nursed his injuries, held him while he was in pain? he had to keep those suffocating bandages around his entire face, lest this man gain some sort of recognition for the little boy he saved. he had to lay there curled in the fetal position, bleeding and in pain, perhaps thinking about how, in another life, this man cooked for him, tried to build up his strength. read to him to pass the time while he curled up against him like a child listening to a bedtime story. played cards with him. saw through the heartless mafioso. the ruthless killer. and instead saw a boy.

imagine knowing this man, the man who saved you in more ways than one, was going to die one day all because he knew you. because he reached his hand into the darkness and plaintively, like a small child wanting a parent's touch, you grasped back desperately. imagine thinking all of that while that man is just a stone's throw away, making coffee in the next room just like he used to for you in another life. the scent, although you've never been here before, is reminiscent of home. and the tune he's humming? it's the silent melody that plays through your mind seven years later, for the last time as you fall backward off the building with your arms out like an embrace. but, hey. that man is alive. he's happy, although he never knew you. you can die with no regrets.

My Strawhat Headcanons Part Five (and a half):

Vivi

Has declared the Strawhats as the protectors of Alabasta

When Luffy became an Emperor of the Sea, she claimed Alabasta under his protection

She constantly keeps in contact with them through letters and the Transponder Snail

Loves to gossip with everyone but surprisingly loves it the most with Usopp

She knows he exaggerates all their stories but it always makes her laugh.

Is the most knowledgeable about how to sail compared to her family and personal guard.

Whenever she leaves on business she always demands to aid the crew she's with.

She is the first one contacted whenever a new member joins the crew. Since she's an honorary member, she also has a say in who joins.

She was very skeptical about Miss All Sunday- Robin, at first, then Skypeia happened and she thought she would be trustworthy.

Actually thought they were joking when they told her they recruited a cyborg. Then a skeleton. Then a former warlord.

Handles a lot of the behind the scenes stuff for them as well. Keeps them updated on the marines and what they're planning as well as having ties to the Revolutionary Army.

Got the X as a permanent tattoo

Simply smiles whenever someone berates her for having it 'You're a princess, you should be more professional! Why would you get a tattoo so stupid?'

It's a mark of friendship.
