Yeah, of course! Though, I think reader is a bit more anxious than shy in this one, but what is shyness if not anxiety regarding social situations that isn't debilitating? Thanks for requesting!

Price and Nikolai with a Shy!Reader

Price: While I do believe that he thinks shy people aren’t his type, valuing someone who can stand up for themselves, speak their mind and aren’t afraid to be a bit more honest than they maybe should be, the heart chooses who it chooses. He values open and honest communication with his partner more than anything else, but when it seems like you can’t talk to him, no matter how much time he gives you, he rethinks his strategies. Since being stern with you only seems to make you more nervous, more apprehensive, he’d opt for being more gentle, always asking your honest opinion. He might ask further questions, though, if he thinks that the answer he received from you is a bit too short or barely, if at all, reflects what you’re likely thinking and you simply don’t want to hurt his feelings. Sure, he may be a natural leader, so having someone agree with you for once feels good, but having someone give you a piece of their mind, giving you a different point of view so you can see the faults and flaws in your plans, is essential for good workmanship. Price values you and your input, if he has to coax you into giving him a longer, more subjective answer, then he will. A relationship can only really work if both parties are trying to keep it upright in a healthy manner.

While he’ll try to get you to open up in any gentle way he can think of, if the two of you are on an outing, then he’ll speak to the other party for you if you really can’t reply. Price is a good speaker, he knows which words are appropriate in which situation. With his confidence as well, he can cover most conversations for you. However, I can see him trying to make you a part of it anyway, regardless of whether you’re talking to your friend or his working colleague. Being included in a conversation can feel nice, after all. Besides, it might help you in getting out of your shell a bit. Despite absolutely hating making decisions for you, if you really can’t decide on something small, such as which burger to get or whether or not you should buy that lovely sweater, he’ll take the burden off of you if there are people around. But on bigger things that have a greater impact on your life he’ll simply consult you, give you all the potential outcomes he can think of and which effect they may have. It’s not his place to take your life into his hands like that.

Shyness can stem from insecurities, and he can tell when you’re not happy with yourself. It doesn’t matter if you’re beating yourself up over having said something stupid in a conversation earlier that day or if you think you’re not worth listening to or having around, he’ll reassure you that it’s quite alright. Hell, if you’re willing to listen to him, he’s more than happy to tell you an anecdote or two about how he has slipped up when talking to his superiors. It happens to anyone, and by tomorrow that person probably won’t even remember what you said anyway. Unless he had trouble following you or didn’t understand what you meant clearly, Price won’t call you out on not having made complete sense either since he knows you might not take kindly to it, but he’d never make fun of you for misspelling any word, mixing things up or, well, not making sense. Sure, severe misinformation he will correct you on if it can greatly impact something, but not if you have a hard time speaking with correct grammar or pronouncing words perfectly.

Nikolai: Nikolai has met so many people in his life, he can get along just fine with just about anyone, especially because of his relaxed mannerisms. You being shy really isn’t a turn off at all, it can make for amusing scenarios at times. If you get flustered easily he’ll have a field day with that. You start stuttering? You blush? Say some nonsense while your mind is going haywire? That’s so adorable. While he’ll try to not overdo it and keep you comfortable, he does want to have his fun from time to time. If you don’t want to voice your opinion, that’s fine, but he will always ask you for your input. Even if you’re not a fan of saying anything with other people around, if it’s just the two of you, and you’re more willing to talk that way, then he’ll whisk you away. You don’t wanna say what you think in fear of him judging you? He will tell you that it’s alright, regardless of what it is, because truth be told, he’s probably heard far worse things than your opinion on the borschtsch he made. He’s observant enough to know when you’re lying to him in order to not make him mad, but won’t continuously poke and prod at you to have you spill the beans eventually. He’ll ask again once, but if you still won’t budge, then he won’t force anything out of you.

Because of him leading a private military company, he also knows a thing or two about how to engage in a conversation and keep it going for a while. If you want to say something, then you’re more than welcome to do so, but he knows that a shut mouth catches no flies. Yes, he might ask you a thing or two that he might not immediately remember off the top of his head, but if you don’t wanna come out of your shell then he won’t force you to. If you do wanna be more open, however, then it’s different. In that case, he’ll try to include you in the conversations that aren’t too taxing and give you some practice on being more open and social. Like Price, however, he won’t make every decision for you. He doesn’t have the time for that, plus you have enough autonomy like that. However, he is more than happy to call the pizza place you usually order from or tell the waiter at the restaurant what you’d like, that’s not a problem in his eyes. If you find yourself growing increasingly uncomfortable in a situation, Nikolai will get you out of there. He’s just as good at making any conversation end on a pretty good note.

If your shyness stems from insecurities then he, too, will reassure you that you didn’t mess up that badly. No one ever listened to what you had to say? Unless you’re both starting to talk at the same time, he won’t ever interrupt you, giving you his full attention instead. What you say doesn’t make any sense? Mixed up some information? Nikolai might chuckle a bit if you say something along the lines of monkeys liking bananas because they’re both yellow, he’ll gently correct you too, but he won’t be mean about it. Not everyone can remember everything all the time, he forgets things too. Besides, it’s not like he cares all that much. Sure, you said some nonsense, but he can also assure you that he’s heard far worse things. Can and will tell you some anecdotes about what he’s been told as well, there are quite a lot. If you don’t take too kindly to him smiling about something nonsensical, he’ll apologize. Trust me, if you’re upset, he’ll know immediately.

Blog Boundaries

So. It’s come to my attention that I need to set down some ground rules and boundaries. I’ve noticed some, uh, behavior for lack of a better term that just doesn’t sit right with me. So I’m going to lay out my boundaries for my blog and as an artists. I’ll put what I’m ok with and what I’m not ok with so this can kinda be a reference guide for my blog.

This may be a bit harsh and I’m sorry. Those who have gone across those boundaries BEFORE I made this post are ok as long as you start to follow the ground rules from here on.

I am ok with:

- People drawing my AUs and characters as long as you either @ me or mention that it belongs to me. (Hell, I’ll even reblog and help support ur drawings)

- Asks about my AUs and characters in general are ok. From questions about how an AU works/aspects, questions directed to my characters, or even if you wanna give something to the characters (I’ve seen that done in some blogs and as of now I don’t mind that, just pls don’t go overboard, thanks)

- I don’t think I mind inputting your OCs if your doing drawings of my AUs or characters. Just don’t expect me to make it canon or draw it into canon. (This one is iffy I might take this off if it goes overboard)

- Clarification in the comments section. If there was an ask that didn’t fully explain something or you wanted to clear something up then by all means go to the comments I don’t mind. Or put in another ask. That’s another way to do it.

- I also don’t think I mind people putting in requested ideas in asks for now. Tho there’s a chance I won’t do it if I’m not too motivated by the request. (Again this rule may change depending on how it goes from here on)

Things I am NOT ok with:

- Asking me or pressuring me to draw your AUs, characters, or OCs. This has come up a few times but I want to officially put it on record that if you ask me to, I will say no. Even for asks. Any kinds of other OCs or AUs I draw would only be for my close friends.

- Spamming me with the same asks. If you sent in an ask and I didn’t response don’t send in the same ask again. (That includes reiterating the same ask) I can see all interactions with my blog and posts. I see your asks, replies, comments, reblogs, and likes. If I do not respond to your ask it is for a good reason. Sometimes I’m trying to answer other asks, I’m drawing up a response (that takes time), I’m holding on to it for a later date, I’m lacking motivation on answering or I just don’t want to. Pressuring me to answer your ask Doesn’t. Help. Just because you put in an ask doesn’t always mean you’rs entitled to an answer.

- Being aggressive or pushy with asks. I’m ok with playful aggression targeted towards characters (say for example someone expressing they hate Dice from Royalty) that’s ok. But there’s a line. And some have started to toe that line. Please tone it down a bit.

- Please don’t include me in any kinds of drama. Both internet and off. This includes political topics, wars, events, gossip, etc. I seriously don’t want anything to do with it. The purpose of this blog is to share my AUs and ideas and support other artists. Not for internet drama. If you’re gonna tag me it should be about art, AUs, and fandom related. I’m not gonna waste my energy, time, or stress on other stuff like that.

- And ig in terms of topics I want to avoid things like: NSFW, incest, p*dophilia, r*pe, permanent disfiguration (like chopping off limbs stuff outside of I guess whatever I have built into the lore of my AUs), outright physical torture or major character death. (The usual things)

Warning: if you cross one of these boundaries I will give you a few warnings. If you continue to cross boundaries I will block you.

I’m sorry to be harsh about this but I really have to put my foot down on this. I can’t tolerate people who won’t respect my boundaries.

This post might be subject to change and updated as time goes and as I interact more with viewers/readers. If you are wondering if something you’re doing might be crossing a boundary, you can use this post as a reference. I’ll pin it to my blog so anyone can find it.

If you are still not sure or want clarification, or you have a specific circumstance in mind, you can jump down to the comments section of this post, send me an ask, or even go to my DMs (if you want to ask privately). I will more than likely see your question and I’ll try my best to answer as soon as possible. It might take a bit depending on if I’m busy IRL. So please be patient.

hello tumblr, i'm hoping to get some perspectives from people who use mobility aids or other visible tools for accessibility (eg. hearing aids, splints, earplugs, service/emotional support/etc animals, and anything else!). i'm writing a paper for my feminist disability studies class about how mobility aids and other access tools can serve the function of helping the user access spaces/resources, but also be used as a political tool or message. i identify as disabled myself, but i don't currently use many physical, visible tools to help my access, so I'm looking for input from those who do! some themes i'm thinking of focusing on:

normalization & fostering social familiarity and acceptance (feel free to talk about this in a positive sense, like you are glad to help normalize, or in a negative sense, like it feels like a burden)

self expression, fashion, and customization (this can include purely cosmetic adjustments as well as adding things to your access tools with an explicitly political purpose- eg stickers with political phrases or symbols)

feelings of unity/safety/support when you see other people using visible access tools

access tools as being an extension/part of the body

i was also looking for a specific post and i can't find it anywhere- does anyone remember a post by a younger cane user about someone coming up to them to ask them about using a cane because they thought they might need to use one but we're scared to do so?

I have an idea for an Andromaquynh modern AU fanfic

In it, Quynh moves back home to her parents after getting a degree at university she isn't really sure she can or wants to use. She used to think that she's a city girl despising the suburbs she grew up in, but now she thinks she was wrong about that or maybe her preferences changed, she doesn't much like the cities she studied in anymore, first she thinks it's because she studied abroad (in the countries of her ancestors) and could never quite connect to the culture there, but visiting a friend in a city in her home country shows her it isn't just that, she just prefers a quieter environment

In the meantime, her parents have moved to a different part of town and it doesn't really feel like coming home at all. Quynh still struggles with her place in life, she doesn't want to hang around on her parents' couch doing nothing forever but she doesn't know what else to do either and the thought of a regular 9-5 job in an office terrifies her, she has done enough internships in that kind of environment to know she can't stand it for long

Quynh starts taking long walks through the countryside, for her health because she hasn't really found any sports/active hobbies in the area yet (that's an aspect she really liked about the cities, there's always something interesting going on, she used to dance and try out things like shooting with bow&arrow and axe throwing), and to have quiet time to think away from her family. That way she gets to know the area quite well - she actually already knows it a bit because she really didn't live far away as a kid, but she never really walked through the fields on this side of the suburbs before

On her walks she sometimes comes across equestrians, and one time a horse throws off its rider and she ends up catching the animal, which doesn't seem to mind people in general just people trying to climb and sit on it - it won't stay the last time she comes across that particular animal, and she thinks she understands the horse quite well what with not wanting to do jobs they don't like just to be allowed to live comfortably.

Andy's the owner of the horse riding school, and when a girl falls off her horse (probably the one that doesn't much like its riders, Quynh calls it Big Guy lovingly not knowing what it's actually called) and needs medical attention, Quynh ends up taking the horse back to the stables and meets Andy there.

There's a bit of an age-gap between them and even once they meet and fall in love Andy is reluctant to commit to Quynh out of fear of tying Quynh to a life she might not really want, meanwhile Quynh is finally figuring out her place in life and she wants to stay with Andy.

I'll probably never write the full fanfic, I just don't have the time and motivation for it. If anyone's interested in getting the draft and adopting it, I'd love to hand it over for you to write it!

The draft I have is pretty much in bullet points atm, but I'd even go over it and clean it up a bit if someone's really interested in adopting the fic, and I'd be open to either chatting about it and giving more input, or you taking it and doing your own thing with it!

I don't have the time to write a longfic atm and I feel like what with the plot I'm thinking of, it really needs to be 10 or even 20k minimum to start doing it justice... That being said if sb wants to try writing a shorter version or is inspired by it to write anything similar, absolutely feel free! Just pls lmk once it's done so I can read it :D

I also already wrote a college AU horse girl!Andy longfic before, and while that one was happier and this one would probably have quite some angsty vibes before reaching its happy ending, it still kind of feels like I've done this before, also reducing my motivation for it even more :( which is a pity really because I do really like the idea.

It wasn’t news that he was good at his job, he was good, he was good enough to be promoted to Lieutenant-Commander. As he walks past a few other officers towards Cyclone’s office, he wondered what exactly they could talk about that was so…hurried.

He saw the email on Sunday afternoon, minutes before the girls left with Leonardo and he and Beatrice went to Marcus for that…photoshoot…thing. It was weird, but also really fun? It took him some time to get used to the idea, but he’s glad that he did.

He knocks on the vice-admiral’s door, he hears the quiet ‘Come in’ and then finally enters. He stops by the door when he sees a brand new picture on Cyclone’s desk, his grandson, in all his red peach faced glory, squinting at the camera and giving the onlookers a confused frown.

Well, that’s interesting.

Rooster blinked in surprise, hardly believing his eyes as he took in the unexpected sight of his uncle, Maverick, sitting in Vice-Admiral Cyclone's office. He couldn't help but grin at the sight of his younger, albeit scruffy and casually dressed, family member.

"Mav?" Rooster, his voice filled with disbelief and genuine happiness. "What are you doing here?"

Maverick leaned back in the chair, offering Rooster a cocky smile. "Can you believe I was invited?” he smirks, “By Beau nonetheless.” Cyclone just sighed heavily from his chair, flipping some pages in a folder, “I felt honored,honestly.”

"Invited?" he repeated, his mind trying to make sense of the situation. He knew that Maverick and Vice-Admiral Cyclone had a history, but he hadn't expected his uncle to be invited to a meeting like this.

Especially by Cyclone who did not look that excited.

Maverick chuckled, his casual demeanor contrasting sharply with the formal setting of Cyclone's office. "Yeah, Beau called me up and said he needed my input on something," he explained, his voice laced with amusement. "Said it was a 'family matter.'"

Cyclone finally set the folder aside and leaned forward, his expression serious. "Gentlemen, I appreciate you both coming," he said, his voice carrying the weight of authority and completely ignoring how casual the conversation was. "Yes, even you Maverick.”

“It must be something insane for you to allow me in here.” Maverick smiles, “I think being a grandpa is doing good for you. I mean,it did for me. Rooster’s kids are great.”

Cyclone purposefully ignored that information, “Bradley your promotion ceremony is coming,” he says, pulling his glasses off his face, “A few weeks, if I’m not wrong.”

Rooster nodded, acknowledging the upcoming event. "Yes, sir," he replied, hands behind his back, “Just…a few days after my birthday,actually.” and he let out an awkward laugh…one that his uncle did reciprocate, but his superior…well…

If he squinted he could see his lips twitching.

Cyclone continued, his gaze shifting between Rooster and Maverick. "As you both know, promotions in the Navy are based on merit, performance, and potential," he said, his tone serious. "And while Rooster's record is exceptional and he's more than deserving of his promotion, there's another factor at play here."

Rooster exchanged a puzzled glance with Maverick. "What do you mean, sir?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued.

Cyclone leaned back in his chair, his hands steepled in front of him. "I've received some...interesting information from the higher-ups," he began, choosing his words carefully. "It seems they aren’t that fond that you two-” he points at them, “Are together in the same base.”

Rooster's eyebrows shot up in surprise at Cyclone's revelation. He hadn't expected the conversation to take such a turn. He exchanged a quick, worried glance with Maverick before turning his attention back to the vice-admiral.

"Sir, with all due respect, our relationship hasn't affected our performance or professionalism in any way," Rooster stated firmly, his voice steady.

Maverick nodded in agreement, his expression serious. "We've always maintained the highest standards, both as Navy officers and as individuals," he added.

Cyclone sighed, his gaze fixed on Rooster. "I don't doubt your professionalism, Bradley," he said, his tone sympathetic. "But you know how the higher-ups can be. They have concerns about the appearance of impropriety, especially with both of you being…family."

Rooster couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration at the situation. He had worked hard to achieve his current rank, and the idea that his relationship with Maverick could jeopardize his career was disheartening. "Sir, I understand their concerns, but we've kept our personal and professional lives separate," he argued. "I don't see how our relationship should be an issue."

“Listen,Beau,”Maverick stands up, “He’s my nephew. But there’s no nepotism in place here,I don’t have any saying on what happens to him.”

Cyclone nodded in acknowledgment of Maverick's statement. "You're right, Maverick," he said, his expression thoughtful. "But I wanted both of you to be aware of the situation and the potential challenges it might present. The higher-ups are watching closely."

Seldom were the times when he saw Maverick angry, actually angry. But when his eyes narrowed and he leaned down to Cyclone’s level, he could see how he was seething, “Watching me closely,huh?”

“Maverick-”

“They are threatening my nephew because of me?” he asks quietly, “Is that the truth,Beau?”

Cyclone sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly as he met Maverick's intense gaze. "Maverick, it's not a direct threat," he explained, choosing his words carefully. "But it's a concern they've raised, and it could potentially impact Bradley's career."

“It feels like one.” and the two men stared at each other for a few seconds, before Cyclone broke the silence.

And while his words were heavy, they had truth in them, “...Maverick, you knew Admiral Kazansky’s protection would only last so long.” he says quietly, “You knew they’d still be on your ass even after he passed.”

Rooster watched the exchange between Maverick and Cyclone, a mix of emotions swirling within him. He felt like..he didn’t know what to feel. He was so conflicted. "Mav, it's okay," Rooster interjected, stepping closer to both of them. "We'll figure this out. Okay?” he saw how his uncle’s knuckles were white when he pressed them on the desk’s surface, keeping him upright.

“I will not allow them to do it.” he whispers, “They will not hurt him because of me,Beau.”

Cyclone’s jaw moved before he spoke again. "Maverick, I appreciate your concern for Rooster," he said, "But we need to tread carefully. We don't want to give them any more reason to scrutinize Bradley's career."

“There shouldn’t be any!” Maverick almost shouts, making both his nephew and the vice-admiral stare at him wide eyed, “What is this? Punishment? For some fucking reason? Why? No,” he points at Cyclone, “No, they won’t do this, not to him, not anymore.”

Cyclone sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I'm going to have a meeting with the higher-ups," he said, his tone resigned. "I'll try to convince them that Bradley's promotion should proceed as planned. But we'll need to be prepared for any outcome."

“There will be only one outcome.”

“We don’t know that.”

“...no, we do.” Maverick muttered, stepping back to look at Rooster. And Rooster felt his heart hurting because that was the same look he gave back when they started talking again. After Phoenix and Bob got hurt, after he questioned him about his papers.

Why did you stand in my way?!

“Is it over?” Maverick asked, “Can we get out of here? We are both busy.” the atmosphere was so tense and thick it was almost suffocating. Rooster could only stare at his uncle in silence, hands behind his back as he waited.

Cyclone nodded, his expression grave. "Yes, you're both dismissed for now," he replied, his voice heavy with the weight of the situation. "I'll keep you updated on any developments, Rooster."

Rooster gave a brisk salute, his thoughts racing as he followed Maverick out of the vice-admiral's office. The tension in the room seemed to linger even after they had left, leaving Rooster feeling a sense of unease, it clung to his uniform like oil.

As they walked down the corridor, Maverick's earlier anger had transformed into a steely resolve. He glanced at Rooster and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Mav?" he calls softly, “Mav, you okay?”

“Me?” his uncle scoffs, “I should be the one asking you that? Are you okay?”

Both men stood in front of each other, the taller pilot opening his mouth, then closing. Then opening and repeating the whole ordeal again…he felt…guilty, but he shouldn’t. Right? He shouldn’t feel guilty but he also felt angry and disappointed and just…he couldn’t pinpoint one single emotion.

He sighed, the weight of the situation pressing down on him. "I...I don't know, Mav," he admitted, his voice heavy with uncertainty. "I'm…really surprised of how things…turned out." and he laughs quietly, more out of discomfort than humor, “...but,I mean it, are you okay?”

Maverick's gaze softened as he looked at his nephew, his concern evident in his eyes. "I'm more worried about you right now," he replied honestly. "You've worked so hard for your promotion, and I don't want to see your career suffer because of me."

Again.

Rooster gave a weary smile, his brain rattling with past conversations he wished wouldn’t come back now, “I know.” he whispers, “I know,Mav…we-we will figure it out, somewhat.” he could feel the claw going up his spine, the anxiety of somehow his promotion being revoked was…scary.

He worked so hard for this, so hard.

And he couldn’t blame Mav, as much as somehow past Rooster wanted to, he couldn’t. This wasn’t him playing with his papers, the fact they were family - not exactly by blood - shouldn’t be such an issue, “...they really get on your ass,huh,Mav?”

Maverick chuckled dryly, crossing his arms over his chest, “Always did.” he frowns, “Always,did,Brad.”

“I’m home.”

“Kitchen!”

His smile was immediate, no matter how shitty his day could be, no matter if he was in the worst situation…that voice made his entire body relax, “Kitchen? What are you makin’?” he calls, leaning down to pet each of the dogs as they rush over to greet him, “Is Nikki with you?”

“Dada!”

“You bet she is.”

Rooster chuckled, running his hand through his hair as he walks to the kitchen, inhaling quietly, trying to ease his mind because he knew Beatrice was going to ask about this meeting. He knew it’d happen and he had to prepare his answers.

Rooster stepped into the kitchen, his fatigued shoulders gradually relaxing as he inhaled the savory aroma wafting through the air. Beatrice stood by the stove, a welcoming smile illuminating her face as she looked down at Nicole who was happily seated on her high chair at a safe distance from her mother.

"Look who's here, Nikki," Beatrice announced, playfully gasping, “Is it dada?”.

Nikki eagerly reached out for her father, her tiny arms stretching towards him. Rooster happily swept her up into his embrace, showering her chubby cheeks with affectionate kisses that elicited even more laughter from the little one.

"Hey there, my little birdie," Rooster whispered, his nose nuzzling Nikki's soft cheek. “Oh,” he swipes her face, “You got some sauce on your cheek, were you helping mama with dinner? Yeah?”

Beatrice leaned in once she lowered the temperature, her lips meeting Rooster's in a tender kiss. "Welcome home, babe," she greeted him warmly.

Rooster returned the kiss, smiling against her mouth, “Thanks babe, missed you.”

Beatrice gently caressed his cheek, her eyes filled with adoration. "We missed you too, Roos," she replied softly, looking back at the stove. "Dinner is almost ready. I made your favorite."

Rooster's eyes lit up with anticipation. "Oh boy, the options are endless. I wouldn’t know what it’d be…what is it?" he asked,craning his neck to check the boiling pot with his brows arched, “Tomato sauce…hmmm…could be anything. Gimme a hint.”

“It’s pasta,Roos.” she giggles, “More precisely spaghetti all'amatriciana.” she smiles more, “I thought about it, it’s been so long since we had it and I know how much you loved it back then.”

“Still do.” he says, sitting on the kitchen chair and placing Nicole on his lap, kissing her forehead, “Thanks babe, that sounds great.”

“Don’t mention it! How was work?”

Rooster settled into the chair, balancing Nicole on his lap as he recounted the events of his day. "It was a long day," he admitted, his voice tinged with exhaustion,holding his head with his free hand, “Long day.”

Beatrice looked at him from the stove and frowned at how his expression shifted to a somber, almost upset look, “...you wanna talk about it?” she asks softly, giving him a small smile when he met her eyes, “If you feel comfortable enough to?”

Rooster met Beatrice's concerned gaze, and for a moment, he hesitated. His day had indeed been challenging, and he had a lot on his mind. He sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly as he considered her offer. "...maybe after dinner?”

Her gaze softened, “Okay.” she says, “No worries.”

So y'all I been wondering, because I tend to prefer to write only one-shots because separating shit into multiple chapters stresses me out (also if I were to write multi-chapter fics, I would upload all chapters at once bc I don't like publishing unfinished work on the chance I'll abandon it) anyway some of my one-shots, though, are really fuckin long (the one I'm working on now is 9k words ) so I was wondering. Do y'all prefer it when a fic is one (very long) chapter, or separated into multiple chapters?

Specifically:

A) 1 chapter is preferable

B) You prefer it's split into multiple chapters if it's long, but only if there are natural points to separate the chapter

C) You prefer multiple chapters even if the separation is clunky

D) No preference

Akashi twins + Reader

The final bell chimed over the PA system, and the students rumble to their feet to depart for the day.

You stay behind a moment to not have to push through the throng. Carefully packing up your bag as you wait for it to thin out. “[Y/N]!” You look up from your bag after snapping it closed to see Akashi it front of your desk. Bright eyed as ever, despite the grueling day of classes.

“Hello Akashi. I take it you had a good afternoon.”

“Yes,” he confirmed he offered his hand to help you from your seat. “It was a productive afternoon. The student council meeting went as planned, and it looks like the winter carnival will be going on without complication. They all loved your idea for going an American hot chocolate bar.”

“I can’t take all the credit.” You reply with a giggle. “It was just something I saw on Instagram.”

Akashi offered you a soft smile. “Any input is valuable. Especially from you.” You feel yourself blush a little as Akashi released your hand.

“Are you and Sei heading to practice? You don’t want to be late.”

“You can’t be late if you’re in charge.”

The two of you turn around to see Akashi’s double standing in the doorway. Seijuro, looking as lackluster and stone faced about the day as ever. “Also if you’re not going.”

“Not going?” Akashi asked his twin, who walked further into the room. “But we must go. It’s our duty as co-captains to be there for the team and help them practice.”

“For what? So they can strive to fall short of the level we stoop to in order to give them a fighting chance? It’s exhausting to have to pretend for our lesser. And I’m too tired today.” Seijuro laid his head on your shoulder, now that he was standing next to you, staring at his twin who wasn’t necessarily disagreeing with him.

“We should still go….”

“I want to go home with [Y/N].” Seijuro offered as an alternative.

“I….kind of have things to do….”

“Skip it.” He stated. Not asked, stated. In response to your plans.

“Don’t bully [Y/N] into doing what you want.” Akashi told him. Gritting his teeth at the other twin’s gruff attitude. “If they have plans, and don’t want to go with you, then you can’t force them.”

Seijuro stood up to his full height again and looked at you. “Don’t you not want to go with me?” You felt a little pinned under the gaze of those mismatched eyes. But your pause seemed enough of an answer for Seijuro. “Yes. They want to go with me. So we’ll go home, and you run off to practice like a good little boy.”

“Wait!” Akashi exclaimed as the two of you walk past hand in hand. “It’s…not fair that you get [Y/N] all to yourself.”

Seijuro smirked at his mirror image. Then told him, “well, come on,” which was what he wanted in the first place. To be alone with the only two people he liked in the world.

Akashi seemed to swallow his doubts and fall in line on your left; though he still seemed antsy. “Don’t worry,” you assure him as you take his hand in your free one, “I’m sure they’ll be ok without you for one practice.”

Akashi smiled and Seijuro sucked his teeth at your words. “Don’t encourage his soft sentiments for those fools.”

“Yes Ten’no.” You and Akashi chirp together, before laughing at Sei’s expense a little as he led the two of you out of school.

i dont know what you mean by this, if youre talking about the kinah discussion im not allowing it anymore. its unproductive and people are getting aggressive in my inbox and really its none of our business. and even so, if someone has IMPORTANT additions to make then it can be posted, i just am getting tired of the moral grandstanding and arguments happening. its time to move on because, again, it really doesnt affect us and its none of our business.

if youre talking about in general, ive never suppressed people who want to reply to each other. prior to my cutoff of kinah discussion, i post everything that gets sent to my inbox, and even then im only deleting asks talking about kinahs attempt. however, this is my blog and i try to be nuanced about my thoughts on things. you guys said you wanted my opinions and im gonna try my best to give added context as i see fit, because sometimes anons will make bad takes (such as the “porn proportioned” comment) and i dont want to uphold certain things without taking a critical lens to them. just because i add my input on an ask doesnt mean you arent allowed to have an opinion that disagrees with mine, youre free to talk in my inbox about stuff and i prefer to have a constructive discussion on topics.

the main thing that i wont stand for is anons that are rude, aggressive, and condescending. thats not how you have a discussion and you can be respectful to people you disagree with. this is no place for moral pedestals especially since we are all anonymous and as such it doesnt even make sense to try and present yourself as better than others, nobody even knows who you are. and even so, i still post asks that are rude, i just give my two cents underneath them.

Is this going to be a story?

I really do want to write this out, but unfortunately i dont really have any writing skills 🫤 it took me a while to draft out these few paragraphs that were meant to be a synopsis/prologue. maybe someday i’ll come around to write quick drabbles?? but if i have any writers following me, i’d be happy to commission this fic!

Will there be any drama between y/n and Shouhei? Like including a fight scene or something?

Even if this never gets written, i do imagine this au to have a lot of drama and the relationship between shouhei and y/n to become toxic (it’s inevitable; he’s a rockstar and she’s a model. there will be drug use and morals will be compromised to achieve fame). Both of them are also not in the right headspace in some parts of the story, with shouhei spiraling as he tries to make his own identity as a soloist, and y/n trying to make it alive in a cutthroat industry through any means possible.

In the synopsis, Shouhei is immediately reminded of those little ballerina figurines when he first sees y/n (y’k, the little docile ones that seems so fragile and is always locked away when the box is not being used). he gets infatuated and soon idealizes her as this pretty doll that he has to lock her away protect from this soul-sucking industry, purposely ignoring the fact that y/n is a complex person with her own flaws and bad decisions.

*spoiler alert* y/n has a bf when she meets shouhei, who she ends up cheating on with him

Is the rock band mainly about the abc boys or all of hrm?

All of hmr are featured, but i think I would focus more on the abc boys since im more interested in them

Is this a story just about Shouhei or all the other guys getting their own as well?

It’s primarily about shouhei, but the other guys also have their own unresolved issues and relationships to work out, which will def be mentioned bc i want to give all of the boys extra depth and characterization. i think i can see chitose being the secondary abc boy in this particular fic, since he’s the one in the worst condition out of the boys, and bc i lowkey might make shouhei and chitose have a closer friendship in this fic. basically a friendship where they get fucked up together and make even more bad decisions. but if i really were to write this out, i’d want each boys to have their own spin off.

What inspired you to think of this au?

its funny cause i was reading this fic in another fandom where person A is this fashion critic who attends a show where person B is modeling and they’re both immediately attracted to each other, when i was like ok but imagine shouhei in this au?? But i can’t see shouhei as some fashion critic, which is when I remember that i have this other au where the boys are like this popular rock band (used to be pop idol group when i first thought of this au), and that fits more since celebrities visit fashion shows (also guys, please ask me about this au too cause i have lot of thoughts about rockstars!hmr and the pop idol girl group thats their competition in terms of international popularity). only difference is that fic did not feature any toxic dynamics lol. also! the whole idea about hmr taking a break as a group, the members pursuing solo endeavors during the break, and shouhei making a lot of noise by being the first member to attend a high fashion event is based off the first few months of bts’ hiatus last year lmaoooo

Since Shouhei is the lead vocalist what do the other band members do?

I actually haven’t thought much of that, esp since hmr is too huge to be one band. so what i was thinking that maybe theyre all split up in different acts under the same company: mikoto originally being a solo rock artist before calling it quits because he couldnt handle the fame. he eventually forms his own small company that aligns better with his values. we have totsuka as the dreamy soloist who sings romantic ballads and wins the nation’s heart, yata and kamamoto being a hip-hop duo with lots of break dances, the abc boys being a rock band, and kusanagi being the manager who keeps everyone in check (look idk if this actually works out like this irl but canon has mikoto having an ample amount of money in savings and kusanagi owning tons of restaurants overseas so 🤷‍♀️)

with the abc boys, shouhei is the lead vocalist, chitose and dewa play the guitars, eric and fuji plays the bass with eric serving back up vocals, and bandou plays the drums.

Hi I love the way you’ve answered relationship questions in the past! And I have one of my own to ask, it’s pretty personal so please feel free to not answer this if it’s too much :)

I’ve been dating my boyfriend for about 3 years. I’ve “caught” him watching porn like 3 times throughout these years. The first time was accidental, I was on his phone I saw it in the history. I joked around about it but didn’t really care. The second time was a bit after we moved in together, and I told him that I was uncomfortable with him watching it regularly, especially since we live together and I’m always in the mood to have sex. I didn’t see a reason for him to watch it anymore, unless we were apart for some time. Last night I got home from the gym and I got into our bed to chill, and he left the lube in the bed. Mind you, I hadn’t seen him since I left for work that morning. So I was like “why is this in the bed?” and he replied “you know why…” and I immediately got super upset. I don’t even really know why but it felt so icky to picture him watching porn while I was out to get himself off. I was so mad that I grabbed his phone to see what he was watching, but the history was cleared. But when I typed in “porn” it showed old links of celebrity deepfake porn. Which made me even more weirded out. He claims he didn’t watch videos like that, they were just ads or something. He also said that “every guy watches porn sometimes, even in relationships.” because “they get horny randomly and want to quickly get rid of the hornyness” or i’m not home so it’s all he can do. I don’t know if it’s unreasonable for me to ask him to completely stop watching it, because it hasn’t been a problem for us. And he says he only watches it like once or twice a month. Is porn something you set a boundary to in your personal relationship? Or is it something you think is totally normal and acceptable as long as the boyfriend isn’t addicted or choosing porn over human connection? Thank you 🤍

I think this is a good question and I don’t think there’s a simple right answer. every relationship is different and what works for some doesn’t work for others, so i think it’s up to u and ur partner to find a compromise. if watching porn is something u want to draw a boundary on then i would suggest bringing it up to ur bf saying smtg along the lines of “i am not criticizing u for this and i hope u don’t feel like i’m attacking or shaming u but i’ve been uncomfortable with the fact u watch porn when we live together for (reason). i would like to hear ur opinion and i hope we can find a way we can compromise to make both of us happy”

a popular alternative is for u both to make ur own porn which he watches at instead. or asking if he could text u whenever he feels like he wants to watch porn and if ur available u could do a ft or call for him to get in the mood. another option is to specify what type of porn u find the most uncomfortable and he abides by not watching that genre (?) of porn. or if it makes u more comfortable for him to look at pictures like reading playboy magazines u could suggest that as an alternative and even go buy those with him (i’ve bought retro playboy mags and they r so cool i love them even just for the aesthetic n as decoration). also i think u should ask him whether he would be fine with u watching live streams or videos of other men naked n doing sexual things to get off. it puts it in perspective how it feels to have ur partner rely on outside stimulus to feel aroused.

the whole “everyone else does it” excuse is silly because what might be the norm for others doesn’t mean it works for u and ur relationship. this last suggestion may not be the most healthy and this is just my input so pls take this with a grain of salt because i’m no sex therapist. but if all else fails and he still is steadfast on holding onto this then make a deal that if he gets to watch porn u get to do smtg of equal calibre. for example if he doesn’t like u reading smut books or comics and it’s smtg u rlly wanna do then from now on he won’t be able to have a say in it now since he’s allowed to watch porn. smtg like that. but in the end i think ur feelings are valid and don’t just feel obligated to accept him watching porn because “all guys do it.” if it’s a boundary for u then don’t ignore it because it can lead to resentment in the relationship which leads to more problems down the road. i hope ive been of some help and i hope it all works out 🖤 good luck!
