The Cooper family has signed off the air for good.
After seven seasons, Young Sheldon aired its moving, two-part series finale on Thursday, May 16. Cast members including Iain Armitage, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts paid tribute to their time on the CBS comedy, showing their love on social media.
Armitage, 15, who played young Sheldon Cooper, posted on Instagram, "I’ve always wondered what this day would feel like and now it’s here! Thank you for a wonderful ride. I will miss everyone so much and I want you to know that it’s been an honor to play this part, and it’s been a joy to work with people I love so much."
"I’m excited to see what’s next and I hope you’ll join me on the next chapter, whatever that is. ❤️ I truly hope you enjoy the finale. It was made with a lot of love," the actor added, alongside a photo of himself posing on a couch.
Revord, 16, who played Missy Cooper, posted a video featuring moments from their time on the show, alongside the caption, "Over the years I’ve watched a lot of my favorite shows have their series finales and one thing I always thought about is how heartbreaking it must be to say goodbye, never thinking about my own because it seemed so far into the future."
"Here I am on the day of my own finale heartbroken. I love this cast, our incredible crew, and these characters so much not having them in my life everyday seems impossible. But I’m also filled with wonderful memories, a beautiful childhood, a family forever, and gratitude," Revord continued. 
"Thank you to those that have tuned in over the years and for loving these characters as much as we do. I hope you enjoy the finale tonight, it’s some of the most beautiful episodes of TV I’ve ever watched. ❤️"
Sharing a photo alongside Coach Dale Ballard actor Craig T. Nelson, 80, Potts, 71, who played Meemaw, wrote, "❤️Love and Gratitude for 7 great seasons #YoungSheldon."
Caleb Emery, 30, who played Darren, posted a grab of him and Armitage on his Instagram Stories, writing, "Congrats to this guy! What a run! Glad I was a part of it!"
Pastor Jeff Hodgkins actor Matt Hobby was among those posting about the finale, writing alongside two photos, "My first day at Young Sheldon, and my last day at Young Sheldon."
"I’m so grateful to have been a part of this wonderful story for 7 years. I will miss these kind, genius, loving people. I’m so proud that this will always be a part of my life. #youngsheldon," Hobby added.
Wyatt McClure, 15, who played Billy Sparks, added, "Bittersweet day today. Series finale of Young Sheldon is on tonight. Although the end is coming I have made lifelong friends forever."
"Get your tissues ready. Thank you to everyone on the show who made this the greatest 7 years possible. Looking forward to the next chapter!#cbsyoungsheldon #cbs," McClure added.
Melissa Joan Hart, 48, who directed a handful of episodes of the show, shared multiple snaps with the cast on Instagram, writing, "Bittersweet post about the series finale of @youngsheldoncbs tonight!" 
"I had the absolute honor to direct a handful of episodes for this groundbreaking show with this incredible cast and so many icons coming thru the door as guest stars as well! What's a ride and congrats to all my friends on a show that made people laugh, cry and come back to appointment television! #YoungSheldon."
Nora guest star Kate Flannery, 59, wrote on Instagram, "Congratulations @youngsheldoncbs What a great run! Thank you @iain you are a smart, funny, and very kind soul. It was so great working with you. A finale is a graduation! Thank you for letting me be a small part of this lovely show a few short years ago. ❤️ You did it!!"
Vyvy Nguyen, who also guest starred on the show, then shared a cute clip on Instagram of her and Armitage having an "oink-off," writing, "I had the absolute best time working on the show, playing the mother to Tam, Sheldon’s high school best friend, and it’s been so fun to receive messages from people discovering it on Netflix. Congrats on seven wonderful seasons! #youngsheldon."
Jim Parsons, 51, and Mayim Bialik, 48, also starred in the show, reprising their roles from The Big Bang Theory, portraying adult Sheldon and his wife Amy, respectively.
In exclusive interviews with PEOPLE at PaleyFest 2024 in April, the cast reflected on the years they spent together filming the beloved CBS comedy. 
“It's been very bittersweet. It's not an easy thing to know that something that's been so wonderful for us is coming to an end,” Zoe Perry, 40, who played Mary Cooper, said. “But I think I can speak for everyone that we're all just really grateful that we've gotten to tell this story, tell it for as long as we have, get to experience the audience reactions and how wonderful they've been. I think we're just so appreciative. Truly.”
Montana Jordan, 21, who played Georgie Cooper, described his castmates as a true-blue “family,” even when the cameras weren’t rolling as they did activities together outside of work. Revord in particular, bugged him “all the time” via text “to do stuff."
"I got two older sisters in real life, and on the show I got a little brother and a little sister, so I got the best of both worlds,” Jordan said, adding, “We've been a family ever since the first day we met — and we're still a family. Just because the show's ending don't mean we're not going to continue being a family. That's what kind of bond we got.”
Potts, for her part, grew emotional when PEOPLE asked her at the same event about her experiences working with Young Sheldon's younger actors.
"They were this big, and now look at them,” she said. “My God, they all turned out so beautiful and so sweet, and we feel like we had a hand in raising them … When we started out, they would sit in my lap and just play with my fingers and kiss me and tell me they love me all day long. That, and they still do actually."

ANYWAYS quick oc ramble-fest even though i should be asleep because i haven’t talked about my ocs in god knows how long :
raven is a genderfluid lesbian who goes by they/he/she pronouns and raegan is a trans girl who goes by she/her! they are also both meant to be black coded (because of course they are i am me after all /lh)
(may give raven some neos since I feel like they would go by neos. I didn’t know a lot about neopronouns (or maybe at all) so I didn’t give him any. but now that i know and go by some neos myself i might as well…)
raven and raegan are 2 junior/3rd year highschoolers who help people with reoccurring dreams by jumping into them! they were meant to be apart of a comic. Every dream was meant to have a different art style and feeling to it (as you can tell…I did not do that akfhjahkfkal). There are meant to be 2 other characters that tagged along sometimes! a chic cat girl friend and their nervous wreck of a guy friend who’s a bear? maybe? didn’t think about his species too much. i did actually start writing a story for them where it talked about one of the first times they dream hopped and it was to help a friend of theirs (not any of the ones mentioned). speaking of their first time, this all started because of a sleepover! the idea was that raven accidentally gets stuck in raven’s reoccurring dream. they stopped whatever was trouble raegan and then they “wake up”. raven thought it was all a dream until raegan gets into HIS reoccurring dream and stops whatever was bother him! and the rest is history pretty much…

> raven and raegan both have r names because it was meant to be a pun of “R&R” (as in getting a little r&r, rest and relaxation).
> raegan’s design was also lightly inspired by susie’s (susie deltarune susie).

Summary: In the not so distant future, with not many healthy adults left, young delinquents are coerced into serving their time in the form of voluntary drug trials. Life at Spiderhead is generally comfortable and non eventful. You have everything you could ever need. Well, almost everything.
What starts as an impulsive wager to gain perks for you and your friends, soon takes a more risky turn for all those involved.
Seducing the doctor was definitely not part of the plan.
A/N: Also, this is technically an AU as I started writing this BEFORE watching the film and still haven’t seen it yet. I just read the short story.

CHAPTER ONE
You can’t remember your life before Spiderhead. The employees here, would have you believe it’s better this way.
If you don’t remember your past, then you can’t miss it. If you don’t remember your crime, did you really commit one?
Everyone here at Spiderhead has an unsavoury past. Your sentence, comes in the form of participating in clinical trials AKA being human guinea pigs for the drugs only the elite can afford.
Without your memories, you are just a blank slate for them to shape... or try to at least. The people you’ve met here are quite resilient.. You notice bits and pieces of what must be their old selves breaking through more and more everyday.
Still not knowing who you are or where you come from can be a jarring experience. For some, it causes them to close themselves off. Hide away in their rooms or lash out. For others, it creates a sort co-dependency between them and the new friends they’ve met while inside. It keeps them sane. Although at times, too passionate and obsessive you’ve noticed. In your case, while you value your friendships, you also cling to routine and authority.
9:00 is breakfast in the Dining Hall. Then sessions begin for the chosen few, if any at all that day. They can last anywhere from 10:30 AM, until 6:00. No more than three happen at once and no more than nine sessions in one day. 10:00 to 11:30 is communal exercise time. 11:30 onward is Study Hall. Then Lunch at 1:00. The rest of the day is spent in leisure. You can free roam the grounds. There’s the game room, the pool area, a gym, Dinner at 6:30.
After being fitted with your MobiPak™ in medical, you always make the short journey through the Garden. It’s an enclosed hallway, filled with illustrious plants and miniature ponds. It’s a welcome view on your way to such a sterile and boring room.
This time, Dr. Cassidy is currently leading you through the Garden on your way to Eval Room 1.
She stops in front of the entrance, waiting for you. That’s when you hear a string expletives coming from somewhere in the distance. You recognize Raegan’s pissed off voice and you absentmindedly find yourself halting in your tracks by the door.
It’s a stark reminder things aren’t always as peaceful here as they seem.
“God, your friend is such a juvenile, utter waste of space.” Cassidy rolls her eyes. “Here’s a little reminder for you, just in case you ever feel like acting out,” she begins. “Disobedience gets you nowhere.”
You don’t respond. All you can do is stare at the petite, but severe looking woman. Thankfully, she doesn’t dwell on the moment for long.
“Jesus, hurry up and get inside.” Cassidy practically shoves you into the swinging door, so you have no choice but to go through it.
SESSION #0128
“Ah, lucky number Thirteen. It’s good to see you again.”  It’s Dr. Abnesti’s voice you immediately hear, acknowledging you from behind the glass screen. You glance toward one of the security monitors, used to give occupants a closer look at the room above. Abnesti’s smiling face is the first thing you see. At least someone seems happy to see you. Strands of impeccably coiffed blond hair, fall down his forehead as he shuffles some papers together. He glances back up toward you. Gosh, his smile is infuriatingly perfect.
Though his smile doesn’t quite reach his eyes, does it? You can tell he’s been put through the ringer by Rae and despite feeling slightly sorry for Abnesti, you kind of love her even more for it. She does what you’ve never had the guts to do.
Mark is seated in the chair beside him. You consider waving hello, but instead you opt to just make eye contact. He nods at you in acknowledgement.
Taking a seat in the single white chair in the room, mentally preparing yourself for whatever experiment he had in store. Whether mental or physical. You keep quiet, until spoken to. Knowing that you’re a well needed break from whatever chaos Rae caused earlier. You try your best to keep it that way.
“I never need to make you compliant, do I?” He sighs. It’s more of an offhand remark to himself, but with the mic still on you hear it loud and clear anyway.
For some reason it’s a source of pride for you. You like that he doesn’t find you difficult or troublesome. You always try to avoid conflict when possible. The thought makes you anxious. Maybe it’s from an echo of your old life that stuck around. A rough childhood or crappy early young adulthood... you’d never know. Rae accuses you of liking it here too much, but at this point you’ve decided, all you want is a peaceful stay.
He’s looking through your notes now, no doubt trying to find what horror you’ve by chance managed to avoid. You note when his finger stops skimming the page and he settles on something.
“We haven’t used, Bluntiful™ on her yet, have we?” Abnesti asks, head still down.
"Nope, we have not," Mark confirms.
Bluntiful™. A truth drug. The name's a mouthful, but it's not so bad. You are quite relieved at what he’s settled on. You haven’t been dosed with it yet in any of your sessions, but it seems fairly tame compared to some of the other choices.
“You okay with trying that one today?” Abnesti asks, seemingly glancing up to watch you for input.
“Uh...” You actually begin to think on it, but he no longer waits for you to answer.
“Drip on?” He has already returned his gaze to his desk.
It’s always been protocol to ask in some capacity, and although you can refuse, you never do.
“Acknowledge,” you say without much thought. It’s what you always say. You also don’t want to know what will happen if you make him ask a second time.
You watch as Abnesti fiddles with his control device.
“So what’s different about this one?” you ask. As far as you know, Bluntiful™ has already been tested on some of your friends. If Abnesti is using it on you, it can’t be the same version.
Abnesti exchanges a glance with Mark. Then, he turns back to look down at you. "Uh, what do you mean?" he asks.
"Nothing. Never mind. Forget I asked."
Suddenly, Mark speaks up on your behalf. "I think she assumes it's a different variant because some of her friends must have been apart of the trials from a few months back.
Abnesti reflects for a moment, then responds. "Oh yes, that is right. It’s obvious you actually pay attention around here," he commends you. “Yeah, so this one should last slightly longer this time. Upwards of an hour, unless I decrease the dose to shut it off.”
You nod, as Abnesti swipes a dial in a clockwise motion. He starts his countdown.
“10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.”
After a few moments, you still don’t feel any different. You find yourself wondering if it will even work on you, when Abnesti speaks again.
“How do you feel about Spiderhead? Do you like this facility?”
“I like the friends I’ve made.”
For some reason, he doesn’t seem to notice right away that you’ve managed to avoid answering the question entirely.
“Okay and given the chance, would you leave?” Dr. Abnesti asks. You can tell he finds some humour in the question.
When, the words don’t readily flow from your mouth as expected, Abnesti stirs slightly in his chair. “Please don’t resist," he warns.
“I think we all would, wouldn’t we?” you reply finally.
Abnesti shakes his head a little in irritation. “Speak plainly and answer the question.”
“Yes, I would leave. This is only temporary anyway. Two years?”
“Mmmhmm.” The scientist nods, as he takes his pen to his notepad. “What do you think of Dr. Fournier?”
Dr. Melanie Fournier is a kind and beautiful French woman. A favourite among many around here. Like Abnesti, she’s not a medical doctor, but holds a PhD. You sometimes have sessions with her, when Abnesti is otherwise occupied.
“She’s a very driven and intelligent woman. Focused, yet accommodating. I like her a lot.”
“And Dr. Cassidy?” He asks, looking up at you.
The woman who brought you here. You have no trouble finding the words to describe her. “I find her to be very cold and calculating. Hateful too. I think she’s hateful. She pushed me into a door...” you say matter of factly. “She’s like a giant, evil rodent.”
You hear both men chuckle, before you quickly start talking again. “I don’t like her at all... or her haircut.”
“Noted.” Abnesti writes something down again. “And how do you feel about me?” His eyes on you are watching you more intensely this time.
The question catches you off guard, and you find yourself faltering a bit. You bite your lip.
"My personality...my temperament, how I run things around here."
Oh, thank God.
“Oh, well you can be nice at times. Strict at others. Otherwise, I think you’re just fine I suppose.”
Abnesti mouth quirks up into a slightly mischievous grin.
“You haven’t seen me be very strict with you, have you, Thirteen?” There’s a warning in his tone that you find off putting.
“Well, no, I haven’t...” you admit. You only based your truth on what others have told you, but you haven’t actually experienced it yourself. He is always even tempered with you. You’ve never seen him when he’s pissed or angry.
“So next time answer with your own experiences then, hmm.”
After being called out, you find yourself nodding promptly. “Of course.”
There’s a beat of silence before Abnesti speaks again. “How do you feel about the sessions? Do you enjoy them?”
What kind of question is that? There’s nothing to enjoy about the irregular and spontaneous nature of these sessions. You never knew what was going to happen during them. Sometimes you had it easy, but other times, you could get an undesired experienced.
“I neither enjoy nor dislike them.”
“Does having to participate in these sessions, ever aggravate you in any way?”
Aggravate? That’s a strong word. A negative emotion, like anger. You felt little of that at all lately, but you suppose that could all change. A slight annoyance, yes. Aggravation, no. Like you said, that word is too strong.
Sure, you’ve been curious about what’s to come in your sessions, but then you recall your recent walk down, and the ones before it. You find you aren’t too annoyed or fearful about the idea at all, but that could all change one day. Besides, they are mandatory.
“No,” you answer quickly, and Abnesti jots down some words.
“But that could always change.” The words come out before you’ve even decided to say them, and he looks up right as you do. Like he didn’t expect you to say them either.
You continue to talk with him for some time. You aren’t really sure how long. You just suddenly become aware of how dry your mouth is and how stiff your body is in your chair, after not moving for some time.
When the clock gets to 5:59, Abnesti ends the session. “Bringing you back to baseline....drip on?”
“Acknowledge.”
The two of you sit in silence while you wait to return to normal. After a moment, he speaks again.
“Thanks for your help. You’ve been a pleasure as always,” Abnesti smiles down at you.
You stand getting ready to leave, as you do, you can’t help but smile back.
Positive reinforcement. You cling to that as well.

what i've been reading the past week:
anyway i went back to the the "Galactic Order" books by Erin Raegan
i quit reading after the 3rd book because the series was changing from an alien invasion/romance series that really went into what it means to have your world destroyed by aliens to standard alien romance i guess, and book 3's protagonist was a jerk and continues to be a jerk all through the series. the author gave her a little brother to look after to give her a redeeming quality, but she's still a jerk who just happens to reserve all her compassion for her little brother. also i didn't like how it handled the poly aspect in the story.
so after a few years i went back to the series since i'm on an alien romance kick currently
book 4 was slightly better, but it handled the resolution of the issue of that book's story stupidly, however i liked the expanded characterization of the main character and how she grew as a person
i accidentally skipped book 5, however the synopsis sounded boring so i commend past me for skipping
book 6 was way better, i really liked the MC and her LI, but it felt short and rushed.
book 7 was ok-ish, but again felt rushed to get to the conclusion that the author was working for. i wanted to like this but mehh
now i'm on a prequel side-quel story about one of their alien allies who is part of a telepathic alien race
and so far... it's interesting
it goes back to how the writing was in the first two books and really shows through their actions how alien the aliens are to humans
the aliens in this book had to land on Earth to patch up their ship, and the lead alien guy with the telepathic powers uses his powers to present themselves as humans to the humans, which is more sinister than it sounds as he actually messes with your mind to see what he wants you to see. and he has nooooooooooooo qualms or twitches of guilt when using his powers to make the humans in this small West Virginia town to do what he wants
he can read every single thought in your head and make you think what he wants you to think, make you do what he wants you to do, and if he uses his powers too long on humans it will give them brain damage
and so he uses his powers on this girl and her family so he can have access to their junk yard that they run
and what's interesting is that the author does not sugarcoat this entire thing. the girl is 22 and it's meant to be creepy and invasive and wrong the way he messes with people.
like i'm sitting here grumbling that the girl is 22 for chrissakes but what i found myself really uncomfortable with was that the whole thing was not romantic it was creepy and the girl is slowly coming to realize what he's doing and it's creepy!
so now i'm reading to find out what happens next and how this girl will react once she figures out everything/breaks free

((A:N)) This is guaranteed to be a mess as its still heavily in planning. It is one of seven books from Return of the Inferno, so I'm writing it first (bare with me here )

In a small village in the north of England, Damien Acculie and his brother Orion, are living in the rise of the Black Death.
Orion, bedridden with the plague and dependent on his older brother, seeks the limited help that Damien can provide from the surrounding woods. Yet as winter is on the uprising, Damien and his friend Raegan are finding food scarce and the sickness to be relentless.
As winter is at its peak and Damien has his responsibilities on the highest of demands, praying the dark figures that peer through the gaps in the trees to be merely an inkling of his mind.
After an event that leaves the towns people questioning his motives, Damien is forced to choose between his only family and his best friend.

CBS‘ No. 1 comedy series Young Sheldon is coming to an end. The Big Bang Theory spinoff will conclude with the upcoming seventh season, which will consist of 14 episodes. Young Sheldon will air a one-hour series finale on Thursday, May 16 at 8 PM.
The news is not surprising. The upcoming seventh season, which premieres Feb. 15, is the last in a three-year pickup Young Sheldon received in 2021.
And while CBS would’ve probably liked to keep its flagship comedy series around longer, there had been a lot of speculation that Season 7 may be its final chapter as the show’s story is coming to a natural end with events that have been referenced on the mothership series.
“As a prequel to one of the biggest comedies, Young Sheldon proved lightning can strike twice,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “It set itself apart with a remarkable cast that felt like a family from the first moment we saw them on screen and brought characters to life with unique heartfelt stories that drew audiences in from the start. Its that a lot of us need to see what you'll do with Raegan x Robot Raegan and all the many, many trans undertones and robot loving that could be packed into such a story.
UNDERSTANDABLE. Like I also really wanna write the trans overtones (I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards) and all that self love and robot loving nonsense
But it's more a growing frustration with how troll stuff has yet to get like more than 4 votes in any poll so far, and it's hard not to get annoyed when original content gets so easily overshadowed by everything else

A Day(Night) In the Life of Writing with Raegan:)
So the other night I was trying to pump out a chapter. I did not end up doing that, but I give myself some bonus points for trying. Anyways, I was typing along pretty fast. I got the second half of a fight scene done, and I moved on the last third of the chapter. I wrote about another page before I stopped myself, knowing I’d be dead in the morning.
I only had about 800 words left to write if I wanted to reach my goal. In all technicality, that meant I already had about 3,400 words. Although, I didn’t realize this until the exact moment. In general, I already have a large chapter. The only reason I couldn’t complete the chapter there was because the main part of the chapter wasn’t completed. 
Well, now I’m realizing that if I want to write this next scene well, I have to use like another 1,000 or so words. Well, that is far too many. The only other chapter in the story like that are the prologues. Yes, the prologues. The only chapter that reaches near 5,000 words is chapter 4. That chapter is 4,600 words exactly. Kind of a lot. 
Now using my big brain, I delete some. Yes, I delete some of the chapter I decided to stay up until 11 on a school night for. Now, I only deleted like the last page I wrote, which was something I woke up and skimmed and immediately knew I wanted to think. I was really on tired + late night hours = chapters on crack. The one page scene of running and searching for jam was what I’m redoing to fit better. 
Yes, jam had to do with the important part of this 3,400 word chapter. Well, I guess it’s now like 3,000 words. So yes, if you write when you’re tired you may get a good product. If you’re writing when you’re tired, at night, and because you feel like you have to, you get some wacky things. That can include about a page and 400 words of waste. Which for me on the normal bases is A LOT. For me that night and on a high, that was like nothing.

Horror and Me
I first got into horror in 2005 when I was six years old. My dad went out and bought a new video game: Resident Evil 4. I remember sitting on the floor at his feet as he played the game. The sound of a gun firing and the groans and growls of the infected townsfolk was almost like music to my ears and I was enraptured instantly. This opened a whole new world to me and I quickly became enraptured in this world of monsters, fantasy and gore. I started watching the Alien[1] film franchise before the age of 10. I never got any nightmares from the Xenomorph and instead found the thought of an Alien stalking me inside a spaceship terrifyingly enjoyable. A Nightmare on Elm Street[2] became the next film franchise that kept me up at night (thanks Freddie Kruger!), shortly followed by Halloween[3] (could never get over that score), Friday the 13th[4] (gotta love a mom protecting her son), and The Exorcist[5] (that shot of Raegan’s head turning the whole way around will stay with me always). I began reading the Goosebumps[6] books at school and my dad bought me Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark[7] which I quickly fell in love with thanks to the disturbing illustrations within them.
On my 13th birthday, my parents decided that I was ready to read books from the King. Stephen King. The morning of my birthday, I unwrapped my present and found a copy of Carrie[8] in my hands. A relatively short read that roped me into his writing rapidly. This was soon followed by me spiralling down a rabbit hole of pure fantasy horror and crime fiction that is based in reality, which I find even more horrifying.
Arthur Conan Doyle once said “Where there is no imagination there is no horror.”[9] This quote has always stuck out to me as I often felt myself wondering about the inner workings of writers/director’s heads when it came to works of horror. How twisted their mindset had to be in order to come up with the stories they produce for us. It was always impressive to me that just reading words on a piece of paper could terrify me just as much as seeing one in a video game or a film, and how the writers used their talent to describe their creations in depth so that we could see them in our minds as we read and allow them to horrify us in our sleep. It always fascinated me how the writers/directors knew when to not show their hand too much, knowing that the theatre of our mind is a lot scarier than anything that they could ever show us. They have my utmost respect for that.
