OOOHHH yes but also I picked Zoro for a change of pace and because I love him too so I hope I can do this justice for you in this way!!

Zoro doesn't believe much in fairytales. He knows full well that the world doesn't work like that ㅡ that it deals in things far harsher than lost slippers and mermaids that turn back into seafoam.

But looking at you laying so still, he can't help but think about one that Chopper likes so much, one he's heard Robin reading to the little doctor in the evening. One of a princess, an evil witch, and a spindle that put her to sleep for years.

But there is no dragon to slay, no castle tower to climb ㅡ just the creak of the Sunny as it bobs against ocean waves, and the soft sound of your breathing. But you are asleep ㅡ that much is true. And because it's a devil fruit effect, there's little they can do besides wait for you to wake up.

"You can try talking to them," Chopper advises, "it might help."

But what can he say? What should he say? He's never been good with words, finds it too hard to get his point across ㅡ his swords make his intentions clear so much faster.

But he wants to try, because he misses you. He won't admit it to anyone else, but it feels a little less bright without you ㅡ his napping spots colder and less comfortable, training lonelier without you curled up nearby to watch him.

"Feels weird without you," he manages at last, reaching to take one of your hands into his. He thumbs at your knuckles, tries not to focus on how limp and cold your hand is. "The others miss you." Pause. "I miss you."

You don't answer, of course, and he doesn't expect you to. He doesn't believe much in magic, either. He sinks into silence, gaze slipping to the stack of books nearby ㅡ left by Robin or perhaps Nami, reading to you earlier this afternoon.

Zoro doesn't believe much in fairytales, but there's not much to lose, is there? At worst, it doesn't work and he can laugh at himself for entertaining something like this.

He leans over you, studying your features, how calm you are in sleep ㅡ and leans in. It's hardly a kiss as far as kisses go, the dry brush of his lips on yours ㅡ but when he leans back, your eyelids flutter.

It's a barely there movement at first, then stronger ㅡ and then your eyes are opening, and you're looking at him. "Zoro?"

He stares. You're awake for the first time in days, and the first thing out of your mouth is his name. (Take that, stupid cook.)

"You're awake," he says, watches your brow knit in confusion at why he sounds so relieved ㅡ and then you yelp when he all but yanks you upright and into his arms.

"Zoro, whatㅡ" He doesn't squeeze you tight enough that it hurts, but it's with enough pressure that suggests that you haven't just been the normal kind of asleep. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." He holds you to him, relief in the steady thump of your heartbeat, the tentative wrap of your arms around him in return. His voice is soft, vulnerable in a way he so rarely lets himself be. "Just glad you're awake, that's all."

ok um. so.

The biggest thing abt Jack's personality is his apathy. He doesn't really care about anything other than his own amusement (and one other thing but I'll get into that later)

Yes, he agrees to help Fredbear (but what was he supposed to do? Just die?) but he doesn't actually Care about the dead kids. It's why he agrees to kill w Dave so easily! In fact, all Dave has to do to persuade him is to tell him how it would benefit Jack and Jack never argues that it's wrong. (I don't think he doesn't know that - he simply doesn't care)

He also... doesn't really care about his siblings either. He says he does, sure, but he doesn't, really. He has no problems killing them on evil routes (and while technically it is only Legacy Jack that does this, it still applies to Regular Jack and I'll explain why in a bit)

Here is where we get into differences between Regular and Legacy; Legacy actually cares about his siblings' deaths (insane, I know). Yeah, that is different from caring about them bcs. as stated before. He kills them in cold blood. lmfao

But he also gets Pissed when Dave flaunts around Dee's scarf and says it's his "most prized souvenir" to the point where he rips his fucking head off. So clearly Legacy cares that his siblings were murdered.

But Regular never ??? does anything ??????? to imply he gives a fuck ??????????? Like sure he says he cares but like. idk considering he knows Who his siblings are now and he has no problem lying to and/or killing them. I'd say he doesn't really care.

Anyway to get to the other thing Jack cares about - Dave! There's no arguing on this, Dave is the only person Jack couldn't bring himself to lie to in the good ending of dsaf 3 and directdoggo has confirmed that that entire monologue was just Jack going around saying "I love you". And we can tell Legacy also cares about Dave, since in dsaf 3, you only solidify the evil path with the line "Dave... I missed you." Which is really fuckin weird to say if you don't care about the person you're saying this to and only want to kill people again? And it's not like Jack can't do it by himself, not to mention Legacy could've easily just. Said he wants to murder again, there's no reason for him to lie about missing Dave. He wouldn't gain anything from lying and Dave was desperate enough to the point where he absolutely would've taken "ok fine lets kill again" more or less the same.

And before anyone tries telling me that Legacy is possessed by Henry or whatever the fuck. That's just misinterpretation of the text. Please go back and rewatch the evil ending, Henry literally STATES he cannot directly control Jack, just talk to him.

SO ALL THIS TO SAY. Both Regular and Legacy Jack care about Dave.

And- that's kind of weird, isn't it? Why is caring about Dave like. More or less the only thing they have in common? Why Dave specifically? What's so special about him?

Well I've given it some thought and. Simply put - nothing. There is nothing special about Dave. What is special is the circumstances in which their relationship formed and developed.

Dave is the only person Jack has gotten to know after he became soulless. Not only that, but they've hung out repeatedly (both the child murder and vegas) so it makes sense Jack would care about him, no?

As for why he doesn't care about anyone he got to know before dying. The most accurate way I can think to phrase it is that losing his soul reset all his feelings.

Anyway. To the part that fucks w me the most.

The similarities between BlackJack and Legacy Jack.

This should Not be a section that I need to make. What the fuck is this. If anything they should be polar opposites, no? BlackJack is literally this guy's soul and they very much clash at the end of the dsaf 2 pure evil ending so what the fuck am i talking about

And I could mention the whole. killing in cold blood thing. But honestly, even Regular Jack does it? If you go w Dave but don't go for the pure evil ending, Jack is still a murderer and all.

So for actual things BlackJack and Legacy have in common that Regular Jack doesn't. The first one that comes to mind is absolutely the enormous ego. (BlackJack thought he could deal with Henry all on his own (which is like. fucking insane. when you actually get to the fight you realize all of blackjack's attacks are fucking useless lmfao) and Legacy LITERALLY LOOKED GOD IN THE EYE AND SAID "I AM GOD". THATS ALMOST KINDA SICK. WHAT THE FUCK DUDE) And because of said ego, they also treat everyone else as inferior!! So that's fun. (BlackJack's entire monologue about how everyone in your party is a monstrosity and he'll show Henry what he's created and if he doesn't feel bad abt it he'll kill him!! And Legacy straight up calling Peter his prey in that one scene)

The last thing is that they're... kind of the only versions of Jack that actually care about their siblings' deaths? Like I said earlier, Regular doesn't give a fuck and both BlackJack and Legacy make it very clear that they're upset about it.

I really like what my friend said on this matter - that BlackJack and Legacy are coping with their tragedy in a similar way, while Regular Jack is coping differently. For BlackJack and Legacy, revenge seems to be a big thing, so it's not really a shocker that the more they care, the more cruel and violent they are. Simply put, caring serves as motivation for doing terrible things.

Um. I am very passionate about Legacy Jack.

Moving on from him though. Regular Jack is really interesting too.

Bcs he doesnt really. change between the different endings. Really, the only difference in Him Specifically between whether he saves the kids or not is just. Does he regard the promise he was forced to make as more important? or does he not give a shit and only think of his own amusement?

Frankly considering that he murders children for kicks and that BlackJack is implied to have been. Very Brutal when killing Henry. It really makes me wonder about what Jack was like before he died (or Alive Jack as I call him).

To me, Alive Jack is the biggest mystery regarding Jack because it's so hard to say what behaviors of all other versions of Jack are a result of Jack's tragedy and what are simply What he's Like. I'd love to say more on this topic but there simply isn't anything to say, all we can do is speculate.

Anyway yeah!! I think that's everything!! I didn't expect it to be so long lmao rip

“Flirting? Now?” Buck smirks and it’s the only reason Eddie doesn’t run to hide and think about how to save their friendship. “I have been flirting since May’s graduation party,” Eddie goes through all of the conversations, only now really noticing how Buck was increasingly letting off compliments or slightly ambiguous remarks, or licking his lips, winking or looking at him from under his eyelashes at a very convenient or inconvenient moment, but Eddie just wrote it off to the fact that it was his in love mind that paid attention to everything too much after he understood his feelings, and not that Buck seems to have been flirting all this time.

“Now, my obvious Edmundo, I seduce you,” Buck licks the taste of wine from his lips. “The question is, is that working or not?”

“Is that working? I had boner because of you wearing this bra in public, and half hard right now cause you like … that,” Eddie points at the man. 

“So yeah, I’m sure it’s working,” Eddie swallows and  takes a deep breath to match Buck’s playful mood, and not look like an impatient teenager. 

With a lower voice repeating Buck’s intonation, he says, “The question now is, what are you going to do next ?” Eddie raises his eyebrow smirking.

Buck gets up immediately and move so fast, that  Eddie has only time to move away from the table when gorgeous man almost falls on him, pinning him to the chair with all his weight, which makes the chair creak pitifully, but Eddie doesn't care much grabbing his friend's lip in a hard kiss and greedily squeezing Buck's waist in his hands, pressing him closer, so that they both moan in the kiss when their cocks grinds near each other, and Eddie notes with pleasure that Buck is also half hard.

The fruity rich taste with a light note of alcohol on the lips is the thing they feel the second they are connected. 

The kiss is fast and dirty, with tongues and bites, with moans and sighs, until their lungs literally require more oxygen and they have to break away from each other to take a few quick breaths with smirks keeping eye contact between sky and caramel which start to get darker with lust, and then fall back into a new no less audacious kiss, which Eddie breaks after a few seconds, and Buck lets out a dissenting groan and tries to resume the kiss, but Eddie puts his palm on his lips, with another gently rubbing Buck's waist so that he looks at him.

I,” Eddie swallows and closes his eyes cause he can’t look at Buck saying it, opening his chest with a scalpel without anesthesia, showing Buck his insides and how his heart has Buck’s name on it, “I love you, Evan. I love you so much. And I can be just friends, but I can’t have a one night stand with you without craving more and without breaking so hard I wouldn't be able to live. I would just die,” Eddie opens his eyes, feeling a gentle hand on his cheeks, and needs to blink because they are wet and Buck’s face is blurry. “If it's just sex for you, then we better stop,” he ends it in whisper as a prayer, begging Buck to not break him, begging him to have mercy.

It’s sweet, she guesses, that Woo Youngwoo wants to take pity on her old man like that – hand him the bouquet to represent not wanting him to be alone, she gets it – but Geurami’s still planning to give her shit for it.

With an exaggerated, “Tch,” she glances to her inferior replacement – everyone knows a high school best friendship is a warriors bond, but a work one is its shadow – and says, “Would it ruin Youngwoo’s day if I fought the old man for it?”

She doesn’t want to ruin Youngwoo’s day – the wedding decorations are super dope (whale themed) and if the groom is much less handsome than one of the guests… well, Youngwoo doesn’t seem to have noticed. She kind of wants the dope (also whale-themed) bouquet for herself, though. It’s sparkly.

Her inferior replacement looks startled and points to her own chest, “Are you talking to me?”

“Uhuh! Do you think Youngwoo would be upset?” she asks.

“Probably,” says Youngwoo’s other, worse best friend, with a sweet little laugh that makes something in Geurami sit up and take notice. “You want the bouquet – you’re hoping to get married soon, then? Are you here with your boyfriend?”

“No and no.”

If she’s asking questions like that with a pretty smile, she gets promoted to her actual name – Suyeon turns so her elbow is resting next to Geurami’s, on the bar, and says, “Then why…”

“Those flowers are cute as fuck, are you kidding? I want that bouquet and it’s not fair he didn’t have to fight it out.”

Geurami’s reasoning is impeccable – even this cute lawyer agrees silently, with a firm nod and a, “Well, I’m glad I didn’t end up fighting you for it.”

“You would have fought?” asks Geurami, leaning in an extra couple of inches and – oops, ‘accidentally’ brushing their arms together.

Nodding again, Suyeon volunteers in a deliberate tone, “I’m single, though,” before sighing, “I guess it’d be nice to not be,” and taking a sip from her barely-touched wine.

It’s cute, but offensively wrong.

“No way,” Geurami disagrees, pointing right in her pretty little face, “If you weren’t single, you wouldn’t have the chance to hook up with a hot bridesmaid, and what else are friends’ weddings for, huh?”

Suyeon giggles, “I am a hot bridesmaid.”

“True. And you’re talking to one, too,” Geurami says, bold enough to stroke her little finger against Suyeon’s.

Maybe she was misreading the tone of the conversation, because at that Suyeon’s eyes go wide and startled, and her face visibly flushes in a way her still mostly-full glass does not account for.

Fuck, is she going to have to apologise to Youngwoo for causing trouble at her wedding?

Twelve hours later, Suyeon wakes up, phone still in hand.

The tab open is a Google search – “am i gay had gay experience wedding” followed by a list of results regarding the fight for same sex marriage.

When she switches over to her contacts list, she sees what she expects – New contact added, Geurami 😳🥵🍆💦 – well, not quite what she expects. Suyeon probably shouldn’t have let Geurami type in her details on her own.

With something like horror, she realises she’s smiling.

update on the fire emblem playthrough! i've just started part two and let me just say. absolute ROLLERCOASTER of emotions since my last ask omg. i did manage to recruit the non-eagle characters i was most interested in (marianne, ingrid and felix. also i forgot to mention in my first ask but sylvain is also there since he was. easy to get). sadly i didn't manage to get raphael who was my next pick, probably because i kept accidentally skipping time (skipped a whole month by accident, and then later skipped a day of exploration without training bc edelgard asked me to come with her. and if i'd had that one day of training i would've gotten him too!! im so salty..) </3 living a sad raphael-less life now.

currently my absolute favorite is dorothea and it's kind of killing me that i'm not gonna romance her this playthrough (because i've gotta go with edie.) next playthrough however.....

i also still really love bernie and caspar those are my besties. i never disliked hubert but he's really grown on me. OH and i didn't even MENTION petra in my first ask which should qualify as a crime. i love her so much.

as for the other eagles, i still like them! i feel like i've already listed most of the eagles hang on who's even left.... linhardt and ferdinand. yeah they're chill! not on the same level as the rest of the eagles to me, but i do still like them.

and as for the recruits from other houses, marianne is definitely up there! although i feel like you have to work a little more to get to know the characters you've recruited from other houses, and the only one i've really gotten to know is sylvain. who i do like, honestly, but he just can't compare to the majority of the eagles lmao.

even though it's like... abundantly obvious by the rest of my ask. i did end up siding with edelgard. uhhhh other story related thoughts hmm.. OH jeralt's death was really sad.

idk i'm having fun!! still enjoying the combat, still enjoying the life sim, and still enjoying the overall plot. excited to see what happens next! LMAO this ask is mostly just me listing all of the characters i like and not much else whoops.

“Matt. Are you trying to tell me something ?” Mello asks.

“Me ? Communicating ? I’ll have you know that hasn’t happened since the great fire of the library of Alexandria. I was devastated and vowed to never speak again, which I would have fully respected had you not decided to spawn a few centuries later to torment me.”

Mello is tempted to chuck the pair of scissors to his face, but that would probably be dangerous. They are adorned with a little bow and a note that says “Put them to good use !” in tidy, loopy letters.

A snicker rises from the then-two-now-triple bed, a small white head emerging from under the blanket. “I see you’ve found my present.”

“Near, I’ll ask this once and once only: why in hell would you ever think I’d cut my hair ?”

They’ve been growing it out very, very patiently ! It took months ! After the incident and the fact that the hospital had to shave most of it off, adding to the fact there’s now a bald scar patch on the side of their head, Mello tried really really hard to gain a sense of… self-love ? Looking at their face in the mirror was never a chore before.

Feeling the wind blow through their now quite long hair had been amazing.

“It goes into my mouth when we sleep,” Near answers. “I’m tired of waking up and having to spit it all out.”

Mello has half a mind to tell him that if he doesn’t like it that much, he just has to not cuddle up to them in his sleep, but that’s unfair - and also unwanted. Mello quite likes waking up to Matt and Near snuggled up so close to them that they feel loved in a way only kids can feel, with their utmost certainty in the good of this world. It’s a nice warmth, spreading from their chest to their toes.

“Ugh. Fine, I’ll tie them up.”

“What ?” Matt almost yells from his place on the floor, a true cave troll. “I’ve been trying to make you do that for months and you always said you hated it ! And Near doesn’t even have to ask ? I haven’t lived that long to be disrespected in this way. I am appalled, I am betrayed, in my own home-”

“You don’t even go to this uni,” Mello usefully provides.

“Fiend. Rascal. I’m looking up hair braiding tutorials right this instant.”

“Oh, let me join,” Near asks, and soon enough, the two friends are completely ignoring Mello’s fuming, too busy looking at EveryDayHairInspiration videos on Youtube, her chipper voice filling the room with detailed instructions.

Nothing more comes of it. Or at least, that’s what Mello thinks, because they haven’t been jumped on and tied to a chair, where Matt’s deft fingers - and Near’s less deft fingers but keen memory - will wreak havoc on their admittedly finicky strands. They have thin, blond hair, though they know not who in their family passed on those genes. The woes of being adopted. It is almost impossible to comb, in spite of their best efforts and the KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo that Matt surreptitiously bought and sneaked into the bathroom, but that does not deter them.

Nor does the ever growing “Mello’s hair collection” that Matt keeps, like a creep, “So I can sell it when you become a best-selling author of course !” Mello thinks it’s for doll-making purposes, should he take offence to something they did and want to stab them in a more discreet fashion.

In any case, it’s been a few weeks when Mello comes back to the dorm room to find it in a state of upheaval it hasn’t known since Near arrived. There’s at least three cans of hairspray, a million and a half elastic ties of various shapes and sizes, and an office chair. Mello has been complaining about not having a chair to be able to work at the table, but Matt had always whined that it was “unnecessary, and would take up too much space”.

“Mels ! You’re here !” says the obvious culprit. “I borrowed Mikami’s chair, I hope he doesn’t mind.”

Incredible. The chair isn’t even going to stay !

“Will you come in ?” Near smiles, absolutely delighted at Mello’s crumpled features. “We’ve set up the hair salon.”

“Wow, you two have ambition,” they mock. Mello does feel a little bit of terror at the twin gleams in their eyes.

Near simply ushers them towards the seat, detangling lotion ready, and he begins applying ungodly amounts of it while Matt combs through their hair with vigour. It does feel quite nice, Mello muses, to be pampered like they’re worth it. The amount of sappiness can be felt in the air, the love pouring from their friends right onto them making them feel giddy.

“You okay, Mello ?”

They don’t even know who said it. They startle awake, wondering when they even started to doze off, and Matt laughs heartily at their dazed-out face.

“Oh my god, Mels, you look like you’re in heaven.”

“Mrrgh,” they muster the courage to say. 

“Eloquent.”

“Shut up, Near…” 

The energy isn’t quite there, though.

A few moments pass by while Near and Matt keep twisting their hair in weird ways, the tingling sensation on their scalp never nearing pain with how careful they are. And then-

“Ta-da !” Matt says, happy as can be.

“We did good work,” Near concurs. “Wait, I have a mirror.”

Mello sure hopes so. Truth be told, they’re quite curious to see what the other two managed to do. Matt makes them close their eyes, spinning the chair for good measure, and Near laughs airily in the background, hands flapping a little.

“Open your eyes !”

They do. At first, they almost don’t see it - their hair is gathered on their right side, as usual. But then they notice the subtle ways in which their hair glows under the light, a small black hair tie at the bottom keeping it together.

Somehow, they manage not to let those annoying tears flow.

“They like it !” Matt whoops.

Near relaxes - he seemed unsure of their reaction, but Matt knows how to read them perfectly, and he knows, he just knows. The force of habit.

The braid stays on for about two days. Mello keeps forgetting it’s there and running their fingers through their hair only to have them tangled in the braid, or turning too fast and flinging it in someone’s face. Near eventually undoes it when they whine about washing their hair, though it returns soon after. He cuddles closer now - Mello feels their heart jump each time they wake up to their two loves, if they can say the word, and they remember that moment throughout the day when they play with the twists.
