While there are several species of this frog, most of them live in tiny territories in South Africa (Both the country and region) in the thin strips of land between the sand dune deserts and the sea. They are nocturnal, sucking up the moisture from the fog that rolls in at night. Then, they use their weird little feet to bury themselves for the hot, dry day. Also, they have no tadpole stage! They're the opposite of their cousins the Axolotl that way, who never leave their larval stage in their tiny little territories!
