SCP-073 - “Cain”

If you’ve been reading along, you’ll already know my opinion of this one.

I continue to strongly dislike the use of real world religion/mythology as SCPs. This one (and 076, we’ll get there, too) continue to be among my least favorites. They feel almost like they’re trying too hard.

SCP-074 - Quantum Woodlouse

This one’s fun. I generally like infohazards, and this is no exception. I like how knowing about it makes it, in a way, more dangerous. It’s a fun little twist.

SCP-075 - Corrosive Snail

This one reminds me of that stupid reddit thing with the invulnerable snail that kills you if it touches you. Obviously, this one is much scarier (being large and heavy and apparently very fast and aggressive), but that’s just where my brain goes. Fantastic idea.

SCP-076 - “Able”

I will admit that I appreciate that Able has been seriously toned down. He used to be much more edgelord OC, and was ostensibly a good guy and on the side of the Foundation. I appreciate that he’s now just a lunatic. I still hate that it’s a real world religious thing, though.

SCP-077 - Rot Skull

So, two immediate thoughts on this one. Firstly, this is another case of over-redacting things and making it silly. Redacting document numbers is just silly. Secondly, the line “The cafeteria menu for Research Sector-861 must not include potatoes or potato based ingredients” is funny as hell.

Beyond that…I dunno. It’s definitely a weird one. I like that. The implication that it’s responsible for the Potato Famine doesn’t sit right with me, though.

SCP-078 - Guilt

This one’s cool. It’s another play on the sort of infohazard thing that I like. I especially like how extreme it gets – you die of malnutrition because you start to freak out rationalizing why you ate a given part of a meal first. Fantastic. I’m for sure gonna think about this next time I eat.

Xisuma has been working at the SCP foundation for quite some time now. He’s shocked he hasn’t died yet! Even more so when he’s working with SCP-077, an intelligent fluffy green cyborg. 077 is incredibly dangerous and has killed other foundation members. Though, it seems like he has a soft spot for Xisuma. He’s even dragged X to his nest to cuddle. - 🎶📂 anon

The other researchers (Xisuma included) aren't sure if it's a cause for concern or not... 077 has shown some protectiveness over Xisuma, threatening researchers that try to come near them when they're together. Xisuma is doing his best to teach him that they aren't a threat, but it's had varying results so far.

Pretty much all his focus has shifted to 077 now. He can smell if X has been with other SCPs and for lack of a better word, sulks if he has. Xisuma would rather stay in his good books - there's been significantly less deaths since 077 took a liking to him! And the nest is fairly comfortable.

a gender related to subject k-097, "the face". it feels or relates to a floating face that may be friendly and feels very much so connected to the mysterious, strange and unusual and investigating such things. this gender likes to roam around and observe.

a gender related to the subject k-150 aka "pablo the cactus farmer". this gender feels humanoid but strongly connected to cacti.

a gender related to subject k-133 aka "voltican". this gender feels like a creature with wings and many eyes, very electric/electrical maybe even electrified, travels through electricity, and may at times feel glitchy like a computer virus or relate to a computer virus itself. may feel a liking towards k147charic.

a gender related to k-077 aka "man tree". this gender feel humanoid and plant-like simultaneously, as if a plant or more specifically a tree was growing on/off the humanoid body of the gender, perhaps presenting as being head of the body. only moves and becomes hostile when not being observed by others.

this gender relates or is connected to k-195 "barble". this gener feels like it is or relates to extraterrestrial life(forms), is small, round and cute. might bite as a form of affection and is very friendly and rather harmless. this gender also likes or is connected to raspberries.

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-077 is to be kept in Research Sector-861 on top of a 0.5 m steel pedestal in a 3 m x 3 m x 3 m chamber with 0.5 m thick steel-reinforced walls. The reinforced steel hatch-door to the chamber is to comply with AH37-Protocol, and is to be guarded at all times by two (2) Level-1 personnel. A boom mic connected to a speech recognition system should verify that all pronunciation is within standards. A camera is to be mounted within the chamber to record any changes.

Every eight (8) hours, a minimum of two (2) (but preferably three (3)) trained D-Class personnel are to enter the containment area and — in a loud, clear voice — read the runes etched onto SCP-077 in unison. The reading must be performed by individuals who understand the full meaning of the runes being read, who are able to pronounce the entirety of the inscription correctly, and who are no more than 30 cm away from SCP-077.

All personnel must undergo a one-week training session with Foundation linguists for pronunciation, reading, and dialect coaching. A minimum of twenty (20) D-Class personnel are to be trained or undergoing training at all times; trained D-Class personnel are exempt from termination until such time as they have been replaced. Foundation linguists are to remain on call in case of an unexpected rune change. Every new set of runes is to be transcribed into phonetic English, and provided with literal and idiomatic translations as quickly as possible; see documents 077-██████ through ██████ for archived translations.

The cafeteria menu for Research Sector-861 must not include any potatoes or potato-based ingredients.

Description: SCP-077 appears to be the top half of a human skull engraved with runes, each filled with an unidentified black resin. The runes change every lunar month (defined by the full moon rising above the horizon in Ireland), as well as at the winter and summer solstices, the spring and autumn equinoxes, and whenever a partial, annular, or total solar or lunar eclipse is visible from Ireland.

If these engravings are not read aloud at least once within a 24-hour period, the eye sockets and nasal cavity of SCP-077 will emit SCP-077-1. SCP-077-1 is a luminescent green vapor whose precise nature remains undetermined; it is to be noted that, although SCP-077-1 behaves as a normal gas in all other ways, it only occupies those spaces which are within SCP-077's effective "line of sight", and does not flow into the space behind SCP-077 unless confined. Opaque impermeable barriers with no biological content can provide temporary protection from SCP-077-1; however, attempts to permanently contain SCP-077 within opaque containers have failed, due to the artifact's production of sufficient quantities of SCP-077-1 to explosively rupture these containers.

All biological material (with the obvious exception of SCP-077 itself) which comes in contact with SCP-077-1 is instantly transformed into a viscous, malodorous ooze; the ooze has been identified as the rotted flesh of potato tubers (Solanum tuberosum) which have been severely infected with the potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). One (1) cubic centimeter of SCP-077-1 transforms upwards of eight hundred (800) grams of biological material.

Reading SCP-077's engravings has noticeable, if transient, effects on the health of the readers. These effects include nausea, cramps, headache, dizziness, incontinence, fever, skin rashes, nosebleeds, and fugue states. Effects intensify as the time between readings increases, and can become cumulative for individuals who read the engravings too many times consecutively and/or too frequently. Readers have a 60% chance of developing an allergy to potatoes.

Additional: The artifact was recovered from █████ █████████ in the village of [REDACTED], Ireland. Locals had built a shrine around the artifact, where upwards of [REDACTED] participants would engage in a nightly ritual.

Fragmentary historical documents, retrieved from the remnants of the village church (see archive 077-1576) and library (see archive 077-1582), indicate that the artifact existed as early as 1848, at which point in time it is described in highly positive terms— including 'protector' and [REDACTED]. By 1869, however, references to the artifact are fearful, resentful, and couched in euphemism.

He moves his hand to his face, fingers touching above his lips, a frown appearing on his brow as he looks at his fingers, finding them stained with golden ichor. 

It’s such a strange thing that he doesn’t register what is happening,doesn’t really understand it. After all, angels don’t bleed. Not like this,his body is perfect, he won’t get as much as a cold so the idea of anosebleed is, to put it mildly, absurd.

Taking a handkerchief from thin air, Michael cleans his nose, just tofeel the cold ichor dripping down once again. And again. And again.No matter how many times he wipes it away, the angelic blood keepscoming and the panic starts to grow in the pit of his stomach.

Something is terribly wrong.

He covers his face as best as he can with a scarf, makes his way outof his chambers, looking down, avoiding eye contact with the few angelsthat he passes by. They don’t need to know about this, there is no needto create panic, there is no need to tell anyone really.....

He can feel the scarf already soaked so he runs, not caring much of whatthe ones that see him might think, storming into Raphael’s chambers andclosing the doors behind him, locking them.

“Raphael...?” He says, voice muffled by the scarf. He swallows thickly, pushinghis fear down. “I need your help.” He tells him, pulling the scarf down, showingthe mess of angelic blood on the lower section of his face. “It won’t stop.”
