a/n: ahhh i love mingyu sm

this… this thing that you have with mingyu, you’re not even sure what it is anymore. what started out as a simple match on tinder, what should have only been a little one night stand but instead turned turned into a weekly thing, had suddenly lost its initial purpose. attachment wasn’t apart of the deal. it was mutually agreed upon that neither of you were looking for anything more serious that what you swiped right for.

so that’s why you’re staring at him, confusion etched on your face as you sit quietly at his dinner table while he serves you a plate of food that he cooked—from scratch. mingyu gently places a glass of water next to your plate and gives you a soft smile that makes your stomach flip and your chest ache; neither of which are apart of your deal.

the feeling isn’t new; for the past few times you two have hung out, once or more you’ve gotten butterflies in your stomach, like some little schoolgirl. another new development: seeing him multiple times a week, rather than every wednesday like typical.

“eat,” mingyu says, nodding at your plate of food before digging into his.

“i didn’t know you cooked,” you comment, shoveling a healthy portion onto your fork. mingyu only raises his eyebrows, as if saying just you wait. he watches you a little too closely for your arrangement, waiting to see your reaction when you taste his cooking.

seconds later, your expression matches his previous one, eyebrows nearly at your hairline and eyes wide as you taste his cooking. it was better than you expected, many flavors coming together to blend nicely.

swallowing, you nod your head. “i didn’t know you cooked this good,” you say. mingyu smiles, cheeks reddening at the compliment. he rarely ever cooked for somebody else other than his self, occasionally wonwoo or vernon if they stayed over. it was a big deal that he was cooking for you, and even bigger that you seemed to enjoy it.

“thanks; you can thank my mom, though, for the skills,” he says, a smile so genuine on his face it nearly makes you blush. here’s the thing about mingyu: he’s attractive—extremely attractive. you know it, everybody knows it, he knows it. but he’s also unbelievably cute and charming, and with the way he’s been treating you lately the lines are starting to blur with how you feel about him. it’s supposed to be just sex.

but instead, it simply isn’t, not now that you’re scarfing down the food that he made for the both of you, wearing just his tshirt and your underwear. mingyu watches you finish your food, a small smile on his face. his eyes trail you as you stand up, lingering on your ass for longer than could ever be considered respectful. it reminds him momentarily why you’re here.

“what?” you question, snapping him out of his mild trance. you stand in the kitchen entry, only a few feet away from him.

“nothing,” he says, standing up and running a hand through his hair before walking past you into the kitchen. your eyes follow his large frame, bottom lip between your teeth. mingyu glances at you over his shoulder as he washes his dish, a smirk slowly spreading over his lips. you look away with red cheeks, eyes catching sight of the stovetop clock.

“i should get going,” you say, brushing your fingers through your hair. mingyu hums and turns off the water, drying his hands on a rag before turning to look at you, leaning against a counter.

“or you could stay the night,” he says calmly, hands gripping the edge of countertops tightly. you stare at him, mouth slightly agape. “if you want.” mingyu adds when you don’t speak, his eyes staring into yours intensely.

you drop your hand from your hair and self-consciously cross your arms across your midsection. “i have work in the morning,” you say, resting your head against the wall you’re pressed against. mingyu glances at the clock and shrugs.

“it’s late.”

you bite the inside of your cheek and awkwardly sniff, down-casting your eyes, as you contemplate his suggestion. it violates everything you thought signed up for. it goes way beyond what either of you are supposedly not looking for, but you don’t even know anymore. “i thought we were keeping it casual,” you comment, glancing up at mingyu.

he pushes himself off the counter and crosses two short steps over to you, towering over you and staring down at you. you look up at him with wide eyes, dropping them down to his lips for a split second before repositioning them at his eyes. one of mingyus hands comes to rest on your hip, underneath the long tshirt you wear but over the band of your underwear. “we are,” he says, pressing closer to you.

you suck in a breath and place a hand on his covered abdomen, gently scratching at the material with your nails. “i didn’t think that included staying the night,” he lets out a light snort and you bite your lip and look up at him once more, nearly falling to your knees at the mere sight of him.

mingyu dips his head down and nudges your nose with his own, his warm breath fanning across your face. “it’s whatever you want it to be,” he mutters, placing a kiss to the corner of your lip, his other hand coming to rest on the wall near your head. instinctively, you wrap one of your arms around his neck, the other staying pressed against his torso. “but i do want you to stay the night.” his lips are on yours before you can come up with a response.

he kisses you differently than he normally does. usually, it’s rushed and hot and he’s trying to tear off your clothes while simultaneously pulling you impossibly closer to him. but now, he kisses you slowly, and it’s still hot, but it’s different. his hand that was previously placed on the wall finds its way to the back of your head and cradles it, keeping you positioned where he wants you. you dig your fingers into the short hair at the back of his neck and gently tug.

and you don’t know what this is anymore, or what it means when his hands are tangled in your hair and he’s pressing you into the wall, or when the two of you slink off to his bed and instead of having sex, he cuddles you to sleep. or when you wake up with your head on his chest and his arm draped over your waist. you don’t know what it means, only that you like it and wouldn’t mind doing it more.

RANKING PERCEIVED AGE: KIBBE BODY TYPING

pure yang essence (Dramatic) or yin/yang blend (Natural, Classic) = may appear older than they are

...aka responsible domestic hyung vibes

pure yin essence (Romantic) or yin/yang contrast (Gamine) = could appear younger than they are

...aka cutest bunch ever vibes

in other words: people with a dramatic or natural undercurrent are estimated more senior than they are, while gamines and romantics can come across as years younger, with gamines the most youthful (see yoongi, he’s a vampire — how is this man turning 30).

classics tend to be in between/can go either way, leaning towards seeming older, dramatic classic being the most mature. classics’ ages are often guessed correctly: they have few visual extremes in their appearances.

note how the subtypes can tilt you in either or direction. e.g., yin (soft) natural = looks much younger, see jjk. since jimin, hobi, and tae have yang subtypes, in the right theatrical styling (D/SD below) and expression they’ll look their age or a bit older.

in my personal perception the overall order/sorting goes like this:

(most mature) D - FN - SD - DC - N - C - SN - SC - TR - R - FG - G - SG (most youthful)

to make it easier, i edited the same idea as the broad 5 categories with examples of male idols who are all the same age (27-28) and wear a black suit base here:

the more you go left the more adult the faces and statures get, while going to the right they become softer, smaller, less edgy. although taemin is a theatrical subtype, you can see the sharp drop in perceived age when you glance left to right, and hobi — like all gamines — is seemingly immortal since debut.

in a nutshell, think the internet-breaking pic of mingyu (soft dramatic) towering over woozi (soft gamine), that really sums it up. mingyu could be 40 and woozi 7 but they’re the same (!!) age, both mid-20s, the type difference: staggering.

my other favorite case in point: the fact that xiumin (soft gamine) as the oldest hyung in his 30s looks like a kid next to the youngest in the group aka sehun (dramatic) lol! look at the sharpness (D) vs fullness (R).

since a lot of you are familiar with their types, LET’S COMPARE BTS AS A GROUP:

yoongi (gamine) is 2 years older than RM (flamboyant natural) but could be his junior due to a more delicate yin face/height ain't he the sweetest sugar cube, while joon is tall and chiseled like all yang types are.

jimin (theatrical romantic) and taehyung (dramatic classic) are the same age and yet, jimin with his soft yin build and face appears a bit younger sometimes contrasting tae's broader yang bone stature.

jin (soft dramatic) is not even one year apart from hoseok (flamboyant gamine) but they look like different generations: jin's sharp yang is pronounced, while hobi is more cute-looking and smol.

yoongi (gamine) and jk (soft natural) are five years apart and yoongi is way smaller, but they look approx. the same age despite jk's frame; both their types are very juvenescent/compact.

2 years apart, jimin (theatrical romantic) & hobi (flamboyant gamine) both look younger. by comparison, you can't often pinpoint who's the maknae before a double take, their types are such a mix of yin-yang.

both jin (soft dramatic) and joon (flamboyant natural) have types that fit their hyung roles, are not far apart in age, and equal in mature yang impression. jin's yin can make him look a tad younger.

even though koo (soft natural) might be the youngest, in certain stylings you'll feel like hobi (flamboyant gamine) is the playful teenage maknae. being a gamine is crazy, you can seem a decade younger.

despite their close ages, jin (soft dramatic) always seems like he brought along his youngest son with yoongi (gamine) next to him lmao! gamines are just so tiny-looking, and dramatics so tall.

another installation to the college!mingyu au no bc college!mingyu as someone who lives down the hall from your dorm and you always run into him doing something questionable

kind of obsessed with the thought of oc's dad loving mingyu and wanting them together.

Her and her roommate rarely locked their door.

In fact, most on their floor rarely did as well — some even leaving their dorm room door wide open a majority of the time, allowing for guests to come in and out when they please.

They put way too much trust on one another...

"You got a hair tie?" He barged in, making a bee-line to her desk.

Looking up from her laptop, she watched as he rummaged through her belongings as she sat on her bed. He had a habit of making himself feel quite at home in her and her roommate's shared space.

"Hi, Mingyu. Hello, I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking" She rolled her eyes.

She had given up telling him off, opting to use sarcasm instead.

She had invited him in one time... One damn time, to help him with his paper and since then, he had made himself a regular in her room. Most of the time, he stopped by for useless reasons.

Just the other day, he had come in whilst she was busy plucking her eyebrows, only to turn off the lamp and scurrying away with a mischievous giggle.

He was always up to no good.

"Hi y/n." He paused his search with a sigh, as if she was the one bothering him. "Do you have a hair tie?"

Holding her arm up, he zeroed in on the black elastic around her wrist. "Thanks!" Mingyu smiled, slipping it off of her.

He pulled half of his hair up atop his head, securing it with the newly borrowed hair tie. "Looks okay?" He faced her.

Y/n snorted, grabbing her phone and pointing at him. "Smile."

Mingyu forced a smile out, like a five year old who just learned how to show off their teeth.

"You look like a toddler." She laughed, showing him the image she had just taken.

Mingyu chuckled, tucking the other strands he wasn't able to gather, behind his ears. "Send this to me."

Within seconds, the phone in his pocket buzzed – pulling it out to save the image. "Instagram dm's fucked up the quality." He frowned.

"Give me your number."

"You want my number?" He wiggled his brows.

"To send it, doofus." Y/n countered, giving him a look.

"I knew you always had the hots for me."

"I need you to look in the mirror and say that again."

Craning his neck to catch a glimpse of himself on the mirror hanging by her door, Mingyu let out a laugh. He looked absolutely ridiculous; wearing faded sweats, an ill-fitting puffer vest that he had stolen from his dad closet, and socks with his Birkenstock clogs.

"I think I look fine." He shrugged, going back to looking down on his phone.

Y/n looked at the message from the unknown number, snorting. "You have my number?"

"Your dad gave it to me."

"Of course he did."

Her dad had hounded her numerously in regards to her finding a boyfriend, claiming that it was another man's turn to spoil her and treat her well.

And he knew just the right guy for the job.

He was not giving up on his dreams of making Mingyu a part of their family.

Shit the admins say during DE in Singapore

Today’s Theme: Gravity Falls (TV show)

The librarian is aware there was an account that was Gravity Falls themed that was around, but they’ve since deleted. If someone can remember their URL, please IM the account so we can note this on the post.

Plot: Twin brother and sister are shipped off to Gravity Falls, Oregon to stay with their eccentric great-uncle for the summer. The pair acclimate to the unique characters and quirks of the town, getting themselves into trouble with their great uncle’s schemes and eventually stumbling across some odd mysteries surrounding the town. With the help of a journal with the number 1 on the cover, the twins work together to solve the mysteries of their town, all while trying to figure out their great uncle’s odd behavior.

Characters

Dipper Pines: The oldest of the twins who is methodical, curious, and a bit nervous. He finds the mysterious first journal in the forest near his great uncle’s shack and learns that the town hosts some strange mythical beings, anomalies, and a mystery involving a dark entity that threatens humanity. He harbors a crush on the local shop clerk who works in the Mystery Shack’s gift shop and tries to impress her at any chance he gets.

Mabel Pines: Creative, enthusiastic, and moves to the beat of her own drum, Mabel is more of the daydreamer of the twins. She is excited to make new friends in town, while accompanying her brother on his adventures. Initially she stumbles across the first mythical creature of the town, while looking for a boyfriend, and she eventually teams up with Dipper to fight back against the creature. Later in the series, she wins a pig from a local fair and names him Waddles.

Great Uncle “Grunkle” Stan: The curmudgeonly great uncle of the twins who runs The Mystery Shack, a tourist trap with fake anomalies and mythical create artifacts. He’s obsessed with getting money fast, often with little effort required. Despite his greed and underhanded methods for cheating tourists out of their money, he has shown moments where he genuinely cares about the twins and would do whatever he can to protect them.

Jesus “Soos”: The friendly, simple-minded handyman who works at The Mystery Shack. He befriends the twins and offers to help them decode their mysteries where he can. He looks up to Grunkle Stan as a successful businessman, almost as if he’s a surrogate father. In his childhood, his father was absent and rarely showed up to support Soos, which made him detest birthdays.

Wendy Corduroy: A teenage girl who works part time in The Mystery Shack gift shop. She is chill and usually friendly to both of the twins, occasionally inviting them to hang with her and her high school friends. At times she exhibits laziness and indifference, typical to her friends and their behaviors, but when it comes to her friends, she is loyal and will do what she can to help out. She comes from a family of lumberjacks and sports an outfit that nods back to the profession.

Possible Plots

Your muse is shipped off to a mysterious small town to spend the summer with your eccentric family member. It was supposed to be a different summer without being glued to a screen, making friends and exploring a new town. But after stumbling across some strange things, you start to wonder if there’s more to this little town than meets the eye.

Your muse has lived in Gravity Falls their whole life. Over the summer, the local con man/woman hosts their relatives from out of town and you bond with them.

Your muse once had a close bond with their sibling, only for the latter to vanish mysteriously. The last place they were seen was a small town called Gravity Falls.
