Alas, I have been away...

UPDATE: Being a full time student, working a part time job to pay rent, making time for outside responsibilities, making time for my intimate relationship and balancing my social life AND making sure to take care of myself, I commonly encounter stress to maintain all of the above. Not to mention my hormones fluctuating due to my PMS! Check out my skin today compared to two months ago when I came back from traveling.

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil - Brief Review

Aku mulai pake rosehip oil trilogy di awal bulan Mei 2019 sampai di awal bulan Agustus 2019, udah habis 1 botol. Makenya rada boros soalnya kadang aku pakein juga di tangan/ kaki gitu biar ga kering. Sebelumnya aku pake rosehip oil punya The Ordinary. Emang jauh lebih murah The Ordinary daripada Trilogy, tapi secara manfaat dan khasiat, sama aja menurutku. Ya kan sama-sama rosehip oil ya haha, cuman emang packaging dari 2 brand ini beda menurutku.

Sebelumnya, ku jelaskan klaim rosehip oil secara singkat. Rosehip oil ini yang jelas adalah minyak buat wajah, klaim utamanya healing, recovery dan anti aging agent. Rosehip oil juga kaya akan anti oxidant, jadi cocok banget nih buat yang sering terpapar polusi apalagi yang hidup di Jakarta.

Rosehip oil bukan agent yang langsung bisa nyembuhin jerawat, dia ngga bekerja untuk mengikis kulit seperti AHA/ BHA. Tapi, rosehip oil bisa bikin calm jerawat dan sifat anti inflamasi nya oke sekali. Sesuai klaim nya yang healing and recovery, rosehip oil akan membantu mempercepat perbaiki skin barrier kita yang udah rusak mungkin karena jerawat atau beruntusan atau bekas jerawat dan lain lain. Rosehip oil juga ngga akan bisa nyembuhin bopeng. Kalo mau sembuh dari bopeng yang emang harus ada tindakan. Kalo kata dokter aku, bopeng ngga akan pernah sembuh 100% paling mentok di angka 70%

Tenang, rosehip oil ngga akan clog your pores, kulit wajah aku normal to oily, selama pake oil ini, kulit aku baik-baik aja. Ngga bikin breakout dan ngga akan bikin purging sama sekali. Tekstur nya juga nyaman, ngga lengket, gampang banget diratain dan cepet nyerapnya ke kulit. But, Susan Yara suggests that face oil is not really important. I am sorry, Sara i disagree with you this time.

Aku mendapatkan semua manfaat dari klaim-klaim nya itu. Aku udah make rosehip oil dari bulan November 2018 sampe sekarang, almost 1 year. Rosehip oil emang beneran mengubah hidupku. Kalo klaim anti aging aku belum tau karena aku belum terlalu butuh anti aging. Dari semua manfaat itu, aku ngga pernah make rosehip oil secara single use, because it’s skincare routine. I have regimen and routine and i have to stick to it. Namanya skincare routine, kalo dipake single use bukan routine lagi kan.

1 produk skincare akan dapet result yang sangat maksimal kalo dibarengin dengan produk-produk skincare yang bagus dan cocok di kulit kita.

Cara pakai rosehip oil gampang banget dan ga ribet kok dan udah ada instruksi jelas dari Trilogy. 2-3 tetes dari pipet ditaroh ke telapak tangan dulu trus baru diratain ke muka. Aku pake ini pagi - malem, kalo pagi 2 tetes biar ga terlalu basah mukanya dan malem 3 tetes. Besokan paginya muka kita ga akan kaya kilang minyak kok tenang aja, tapi jadi glowing dan oke banget. Face oil selalu jadi yang terakhir di skincare routine. Kalo dipake pagi, diaplikasikan sebelum sun block. Ngga akan ganggu sun block kok tenang aja, yang penting makenya secukupnya jangan kebanyakan dan jangan kedikitan.

Nah, bedanya sama The Ordinary apa sih? Packaging nya sama-sama warna gelap gitu karena emang menghindari produk di dalamnya ter-oksidasi. Kalo The Ordinary, packaging nya ngga terlalu bagus karena produk akan meninggalkan ‘bekas’ di sekitar bibir botol, dan produk nya jadi kaya kering-kering dan jadi berantakan makenya. Beda sama yang punya Trilogy, rapih, ngga berbekas, dan teteap cantik. Kalo dari segi bau, trilogy baunya lebih sopan ketimbang The Ordinary. So now i know why Trilogy is bit more expensive than The Ordinary. Jadi, sekarang aku memutuskan akan terus pake rosehip oil dari Trilogy, karena emang lebih nyaman.

Why Rosehip Oil?

Karena baca-baca artikel di google, rosehip oil termasuk salah satu face oil yang cocok di kulit acne prone dan kulit cenderung berminyak. So that’s why i chose rosehip oil. If you have the same skin type as i do, try rosehip oil! It’s worth it kok, atau kalo dirasa terlalu mahal dan masih ragu, beli yang share in jar aja dulu. Dipakenya juga hemat karena ga perlu banyak-banyak makenya.

Aku beli rosehip oil Trilogy di shopee, trusted kok yang penting kita nya jago nge-filter nya aja. Aku juga belum tau ada produk palsu nya juga sih beda kaya The Ordinary Niacinamide yang udah ada fake product nya. Beli di counter offline shop juga ada di Jakarta, tapi lupa dimana sih. Cuma ya kalo offline store jelas jauh lebih mahal kan dibanding online store.

Can y'all recommend me some acne scar treatment?

If you grew up in a black household, you might be familiar with bleaching creams. Actually I'm sure its in most black folks household across the African disporia. I don't too much care for bleaching cream or orally prescribed medicine but that is all that has worked for me besides Getting sunkissed in the summertime. I know bleaching cream is bad an I really want to move away from it and creams that lightn the skin but still have traces of bleaching agents in them. I've changed my eating habits, I've used topical OTC acne med, I've tried black soap (it burns), I've tried witch hazel for your face, I've tried teatree oil, and IV tried cocoa butter. Now, I could be trying the wrong ones because there are some black soaps that sent REAL black soap and some oils are not meant for your face apparently. Do y'all have any suggestion? What works for y'all?

Halo Beauty

So lately I've been experiencing an outburst of wanting to better myself physically and mentally. Starting to do a bit more research on my current issue which we all know is my skin I found halo beauty. Halo beauty was created by makeup guru/influencer tati westbrook. The goal of Halo Beauty was to give the consumers a pill that was healthy and would help create better skin. After purchasing the product I waited anxiously for about three days because I thankfully paid for express shipping. Not only was it right on time but, it came with just enough packaging that did not want to make me scream. Starting off the first week was not what I expected, meaning, I felt like I was constantly bloated, never was in the mood to really eat anything, and was extremely dehydrated. Upon further research this was not the first time this has happened to a consumer and it was known as the “detox period”. I did some further research and could not find anything on the site that expressed a detox period but, I am assuming it meant that your system was going to be flushed of the bad and filled with the good. Which after the third week I am already noticing huge differences. My skin has never felt smoother, the wrinkles on my forehead from frowning so much is less depicted, and on top of all that less breakouts thankfully. Just for some proof I will be posting before and after pictures and update you all every other week. My plan is to take her other pills which is just the Halo beauty pink pills instead. Those ones are made for both skin, hair, and nails. All I have to say is I have never been happier with how my skin has felt and looked. Now I can wear makeup but, without the foundation which is something to be impressed by because honestly who wanted to spend more time taking makeup off and who would not want less product to purchase.
