I forgot to post this when i originally made it, but here is my
TF2 Monster AU
I'll start with the monster each merc is
Scout: Werewolf
While yes, the traditional werewolf (ie. painful transformation, big hulking beast, fear n' guilt, lack of control, etc etc) sounds nothing like scout, this is not exactly traditional
him becoming a werewolf was either a complete accident on both their parts (both him and the original werewolf) or unintentional on the werewolf's part
He was originally hyped to find out what his wolf form would be, assuming it to be, y'know, big and scary and cool, but was immensely disappointed when it turned out to be a grey hound
He still tries to hype it up as much as possible without actually revealing it to the person he's talking to
He gets zoomies, both because Dog and Scout
Soldier: Zombie
He survived many, usually fatal, injuries. (including but not limited to: getting brain bashed, being gutted, getting shot twice, etc etc) Unfortunately, he was unlucky enough to have a loose wood chip shoot directly into his brain stem, killing him instantly. But before that, he spent at least two hours yelling about war and patriotism and all the likes. Those being his last words, they are the only thing he remembered after death.
For a long while, he lived with Merasmus, the local and evil wizard. That is, until Miss Pauling got him to join the the Mannor, to the delight of Merasmus
That shovel is the same shovel he was buried with, he likes reminding people of this fact
Engineer: Cyborg
Done himself, the mechanisms are just a step up from the Gunslinger
Not only is the Fortress giant and haunted, it's rather technologically advanced, thanks to Engie
He's probably the second closest to Miss Pauling
There's not much I can say about him, as he's mostly the same as he is normally
Spy: Vampire
He's got the melodramatics for it, it's even part of the reason he became a spy; there's a lot of information you can collect and use when you live for forever
He had fallen for Scout's Ma, but left before he was born, both to save himself the misery of having to endure her inevitable human death and also so he wouldn't be around to possibly learn vampirism is genetic. as it turns out; it isn't, and Scout's Ma isn't even dead; she's just old. So he left for practically no reason; which is partly why he wants to keep the fact he is Scout's bio dad away from Scout himself
His bat form is a Mediterranean Horseshoe Bat. He hates it <3
Medic: Frankenstein-esc Monster
He used to be human, but he decided to try some experiments of his on myself instead. The tests have had varying success
He added the extra arms for practical reasons; you can get twice the work done with twice the working arms
He's awfully glad to now have his own little lab, with little to no interruptions, and no objections
Sniper: Ghost
He was a hunter, lookin' for rare animals and killing the common ones for meat. Unfortunately, it seems some other hunter needed meat too
Even in life, he wasn't one for talkin' to people. He took much more of a liking to animals, though, he wasn't exactly squeamish about eating meat, either.
His death only happened by being at the same place as another hunter, both there for a particularly rare and exotic animal, though the other seemed more keen on taking the things life, rather than it's picture. They got into a bit of a squabble, and worse comes to worse the guy turned out to be a shapeshifter, and in to a gun, shooting Sniper in the head
He spent most of the time between then and when he started living with the mercs just wandering the world; it being much easier to see the sights of the world when the sights of the world can't see you
Heavy: Werebear
He's one of the three (The other two being Demo and Pauling) who have never been human.
He's essentially the same as he is in the comics, protective of his family, protective of his sasha, protective of his doktor, the main difference being that here he can turn into a kickass polar bear.
Demoman: Selkie
He's a man, sometimes seal, who enjoys the earthly desires of the world; alcohol, people, parties, explosives, y'know. but his mother, usually a seal, thinks he should be a more traditional selkie; seducing unsatisfied women, sitting naked on the rocks, y'know. He isn't too keen on that life, however
Miss Pauling: Demon
An Imp, to be specific. Unfortunately one of the only ones to take her job seriously
She worked to get each of the mercs to live in the house, along with her, the Admin, and the Mann brothers' ghosts
She managed to get half of them into contracts, save for the ones who joined willingly, saying they've got to stay.
Why exactly did she gather the mercs? Well, she doesn't quite know. Or maybe she does, and the reason is just classified. Either way the only answer she'll give is that the Admin had told her to.
Pyro: Human(?)
There's no evidence to prove it, but there's no evidence to disprove it, either.
Their obsession with fire and all thing childish could be human, but it sure wouldn't be typical.
The others have come up with a plethora of theories, but they refuse to say anything on the matter.
Though, they don't say much on any matter, really.
plus some general facts
They all live in this big, strange, and haunted house, called by the group either The Mannor or The Fortress
The Mannor is haunted by the Mann brothers, obviously, but they aren't nearly the strangest thing about the house
The Fortress is very big and very tall, and at the top lives the Administrator, whom next to no one has seen, let alone talked to
Pretty much only Miss Pauling has even talked to or even seen her more than once
Merasmus lives a short walk away from the Fortress
The Fortress has made each merc their own personal room and area

grian as the strange man who appears suddenly on gem’s dock with no explanation. no one knows who he is.
no one saw him arrive and he has no car.
he’s never bought anything from the store, and a few locals said they saw him simply cooking and eating the fish he catches on the spot.
the only belongings he seems to own are his fishing gear.
when asked where he lives, he points to the cliff. there is a tiny blue house there, balancing precariously on wooden stilts. the house has never been there and no one’s seen it before, but the local gas attendant pulled up a 40 year old photo of her grandma on the beach, and sure enough, the tiny house is there, a wee speck of color hanging like a barnacle on the cold, wet bluff.
the age of his mysterious little home aside, no one’s sure when he visits it. he’s at his little dock before the earliest ships cast out, and the sickly glow of his lantern can be seen long into the coldest of nights.
the man has pulled the strangest things from the ocean. fish, to be sure, but other, stranger things. lily pads, far from their native biomes. fishing poles, tattered and worn, of various makes and styles- some look positively ancient. boots. giant shells with twisted patterns to match no living thing. a genuine horse saddle once. bowls. a bone that looked just a bit like a human femur.
and books. perfect, unblemished books, nearly glowing with some kind of energy and filled with a script both unfamiliar and unsettling to see.
he opens them each with a breathless anticipation that tastes like brine or maybe tears.
but whatever he sees in them is not what he wants, and each book is tossed aside with resigned disgust and something like despair, before the weathered pole is taken up to cast a line to sea once more.

what if i gave rise leo BPD...
his anger manifests in the form of self-sabotage and self harm. he asks donnie to sound proof his room when they get to the new lair so he can wreck it without concerning everyone else. before that he'd sneak to the surface and wreck an already messy alleyway
his self harm is recklessness. he gets hurt in fights as much as he can and still get away with just a "please be more careful" lecture from raph
speaking of raph, his oldest brother is his favorite person. so when raph starts to brush him to the side and distrust him, he doesnt take it well. when he does something to impress raph and all he gets is "finally..." thats when he disappears for hours and comes back home with sore arms and usually some scrapes and many bruises
he becomes a medic because they can't ignore him if he helps them. plus he can get better at hiding his breakdowns if he can take care of his own injuries
he wants to be in the spotlight so bad until the spotlight shines on him and suddenly his skin fits wrong
splinter and raph brush it off as teenage hormones. donnie shuts it out. mikey is the first person to realize leo's moods aren't normal, but he doesnt want to confront the fact the bpd comes from trauma, so he tries to support leo as best he can
april doesnt realize how much leo's mood shifts until she spends a night in the lair and realizes that leo isn't as hyper as he presents himself. he tries to mask, but he's too tired and the sudden silence from leo throws april off. it creates a rift between them. even when leo is happier around april, she knows somethings wrong- knows its not quite as genuine as she thought.
she spends more time around donnie than leo and leo thinks its for the best. eventually all his brothers- all his family prefer spending time with someone thats not him. he tells himself its for the better- the less time they spend around him, the less likely he'll be upset around them and end up making them upset
leo convinces himself he's meant to be alone and puts his all into being the team medic and spends the rest of his time alone and dissociating. he hates being the leader- having everyones eyes on him all the time. watching him. waiting for him to mess up- to act out- to prove they were right not to trust him
.... idk.. just a thought
