i actually hate talisa maegyr. i think her whole plot with robb was so stupid. like in the books robb’s marriage with jeyne is this tragic situation that’s really a culmination of the stress and grief that robb has been going through and unable to truly process because he is a child trying to lead his people in a war. he gets injured and then learns that his former best friend has just betrayed him, captured his home, and killed both of his younger brothers which adds to growing list of loss in his life. his father got executed, his sisters are being held hostage, his best friend betrayed him, and now his brothers are dead. so while he’s injured and kind of being consumed by his grief, jeyne westerling is there to comfort him and they do the deed and this only makes things worse because of how robb was raised and instilled with his father’s honor, as well as seeing how jon was raised, robb feels compelled to marry jeyne to preserve HER honor which ends up being his downfall. but nooooo in the show robb falls in love with foreign beauty talisa maegyr and dies because he’s an idiot and couldn’t keep it in his pants. like don’t get me wrong i love robb’s scenes in the show richard madden call me i just think the story could have been so much better and been true to the tragedy that it is in the books.

I think one of the reasons I’ve taken a more hands off approach to being in the good omens fandom is because I genuinely can’t stand a large majority of the discourse. and I love discourse! but so much of it is based on fanon evidence, not canon evidence, and some of it is so borderline entitled. ‘it’s not enough!!!! azira and crowley kissing isn’t enough!!!!’ sorry two canonically non-binary entities being in canonical love isn’t good enough? ‘aziraphale was acting ooc!!!! why did he choose heaven’ I am sorry u don’t have enough media literacy to see the provided evidence where he’s clearly weighed down by THOUSANDS of years of religious devotion and trauma. ‘crowley is a little meow meow who did nothing wrong’ babe look me in the eyes. he’s at fault too. azira and crowley have a messy relationship riddled with miscommunication. one attempt at sharing his feelings doesn’t fix that. ‘it’s to angsty!! they should have ended up together’ for the love of god it’s a three part arc. of course there’s going to be angst. this isn’t a fanfic. stop acting like it’s a fanfic!!

I really want to address some shit that’s been on my mind recently. (This could be applicable to all fandoms but I’ll be taking specifically about the aftg fandom)

I really don’t like how some of you talk to people regarding shipping. Like I get not liking a ship. I myself can’t stand Andrew and Neil being shipped with Kevin. i always pictured Neil and Kevin having like a sibling dynamic and maybe Andrew thinking Kevin’s hot but nothing ever comes from it. Now I know I don’t enjoy content that contains this ship. So what do I do, I IGNORE IT. Rather than harass people for enjoying something I’m not a fan of (like some people) I just don’t interact. It’s not hard to scroll past something if you don’t like it.

I’ve seen so much shit discrediting and shit talking people who just don’t share your opinion. Like with ReneexJean, bro from the text we have it’s basically canon. Why are some people (cough cough jerjean shippers cough cough) just dismissing it so hard. Like just say you would rather read about two male characters WHO HAVEN’T TALKED EVEN ONCE ON PAGE then the border line canon straight ship. (Ik ik but tsc hasn’t been released yet im only talking about what we currently have canon wise)

No hate to jerjean I’m just using it to make a point. But I could also bring up the stuff with Thea and Kevin. They are canonically together. If you don’t like it FUCKING IGNORE IT. You don’t have to shit talk Thea because you don’t want her with Kevin. You don’t have to harass people who ship her and kevin. You can just scroll past it.

the arknights endfield lore potential looks great (the statue of patriot, rhoses island landship crashing into the tower of babel) but the character designs....... why is the female endministrator so much shorter than the male one and why does the ch'en-looking lady look like... that

At first I wasn't wild about the designs and I even joked that the female administrator was the default/"canon" gender because they showcased her for their alpha testing... but the more I'm sitting on it, the less impressed I am.

It's not just the lackluster designs, but the creeping realization that they're riding on the coattails of other "3D anime games" as of late. The suspiciously similar UI, the vague futuristic sci-fi setting, the apparent weapon gacha??? If it's not craftable weapons, then yeah sure, let's copy super predatory monetization systems as well. This doesn't feel like AK. It just has AK's name on it to entice existing fans.

One of the things that makes AK stand out among other mobile games is that their monetization isn't so... in-your-face. Prominent. Aggressive. There is no weapon/equipment gacha. No BS RNG weapon stats. When you get an operator, after skill mastery and levels (and maybe a module), they're already at 90%-95% of their power. Dupes are negligible.

Part of me wants to delude myself into thinking this is some maneuver to grab some of that sweet HYV money and then funnel it back to OG AK like how it was memed how GI was just a fundraiser for HI3... until I learned that MHY screwed over HI3. (sorry, HI3 fans...)

Why? Why must every single piece of media have suffering?

Why is the world so hell-bent on showing how there's no such thing as happy endings? What's the point of escaping into a fantasy world if even there you aren't guaranteed happiness and peace?

Why must happily-ever-after's be fairytales even in children's media?

There's no point in showing them happy and in love at the end of Gen 4 if you're just going to destroy that notion in Gen 5.

Now, every single scene they share will be forever tainted by the knowledge that Discord will spend centuries alone, mourning the loss of Fluttershy. Tainted by the knowledge that not even this fantastical world of brightly colored ponies is free of suffering.

Just think about what that tells kids, especially those with bad home situations. That not even a show about the power of love and friendship actually believes that love conquers all. That, for some, loneliness is not only guaranteed but also inevitable? That regardless of how much effort you put into it, some people just don't get happy endings?

That is the type of thing that can have devastating effects on a kid, especially if they keep seeing it repeatedly in all sorts of different media.

Pleeeease It was so worth the wait!!! I adore it so much. The animation is so damn fluid and beautiful. The fucking BACKGROUNDS??? Just in general it's a pretty show! The characters are so good, too! I adore Husk and Angel~ I never got the ship before, but I absolutely do now! I still like RadioDust, but I like it a lot less now than I used to. I think since Alastor is confirmed AroAce, I like him better in more platonic relationships. I'm not saying he can't have a partner, as an asexual myself with very little romantic attraction. I just like the idea of him finding an extremely close friend group instead of a relationship (Tho with that ending, is it possible? What a cliffhanger!) I dont know what will happen in the show going forwards, but I'd like to believe the others softened Alastor up a bit and he has a reluctant but growing admiration for the group! That probably gave away my favorite character, huh? Obviously it's Alastor. I figured it would be lol. But! I absolutely adore all the other characters too! (Except Valentino but we're supposed to hate that guy. They did a good job at that �� Love his design, tho). A character I was suprised to find myself in love with at the end was fucking Carmilla Carmine! She's so damn pretty??? Excuse me??? And she's a good mom!? I adore her!!! But like, the whole group is fantastic! Sir Pentious was obviously a highlight~! Can't beat a silly snake boy who is just so full of love! He absolutely deserved the ending he got 🥺 Proud of that boy! Angels character, I think, is so much better in the show. I loved him in the pilot, but DAMN! They just nail the character in the show!! OH AND NIFTY??? I want her in my life!! I adore her 🥺🥺🥺 Charlie and Vaggie are perfect together. Their relationship is my favorite. Charlie is so cute, and I adore her optimism. Vaggie has such a cool story, too, and I wasn't expecting the twist, but maybe that's because I wasn't aware of the theory beforehand, so it took me by suprise. Husk is so amazing, too. His song with Angel is so good. I love the fluffy kitty! AND CAN I MENTION LUCIFER!?! Dad of the year, my man! Wish I had a father, lol.
