Why I reblog before I like:

It all comes back to core memory of being 10 and going to a pool party .....now as any suburban kid in the continental US I had gone to many pool parties (because I was blessed child)

I had gone to Indoor pool parties*and outdoor pool parties. Some were public pools and others were in richer peoples back yards. But all the pools were concrete in ground pools.

This was my first above ground pool. And it looked something like this:

And that pool part is were I encountered a new game. There was a large group of child at the party and maybe 12 of us get th the pool at the same time and all begain to walk a counter clockwise path along the edge (it must have only been a 4ft pool because I could touch the bottom). It was hard work. We did this for a few minuets then we all floated in the circular current we had created.

That circular current that a bunch of ten years old had created is how I think of tumblr. If we don't move the water/posts then they will mostly stay still. But if we chose to move the water/information we keep the circulation going.

*indoor pool parties are the worst type of pool parties because most indoor pools do not allow patrons to eat in the pool area. So in order to eat food, the guests have to change and shower and go to a different room. They are also less aeseticly pleasing and the air is full of humidity and chorine so hits harder to breath.

Since I newly have access to vegetarian marshmallows and have not otherwise had marshmallow or marshmallow products in well over 20 years I must ask - are rice krispy treats good? Should I try to make them?

I still think about the time when Strange Aeons made a video about tumblr sexy men and brought up the fact that people were/are into the Madagascar penguins which shot into me the memory that I indeed find Kowalski the Madagascar penguin sexy and I will never come back from that

One of the ads I keep getting on here is for a pharmacy in the small town where my grandparents used to live many years ago, which is nowhere near where i live - not even in fact on the same island. I don't understand it. But I am intrigued

I saw a picture that reminded me of the toy castle my brother and I used to play with, and I thought I would never find it online, but tried anyway:

An Elastolin Hausser Burg! I don't think I ever new the name.

Features dear to me that I remember are the well (very important to survive sieges!), the little balacony, the big tower and the roof of the church tower.

Brave Lego figurs, Ü-Eier Hippos and many others fought for our castle.

Anyway, it just made me happy to find some pictures of it after 25 years and wanted to share 😊.

I remember at my own grandmother's funeral just staring at the coffin, that even though her passing was unexpected, it still didn't feel real that she wasn't there. That instead she was in that wooden box... I can't imagine that feeling, plus all the additional layers of pomp and ceremony and protocol and pageantry that comes with a State Funeral.

I hope once he's home, reunited with his children, supported by his wife, he can grieve fully the loss of his Grandmother, and the family dynamic he's known for so long.

#his face 😔#she was his last grandparent too so its a strange grief for grandparents and memories and the loss of childhood in some ways #grief is so complex #and that's without family conflict y'know

You know what’s weird, my fav Disney movie is little mermaid bc my mom told me I had loved it when I was a kid, that I watched it over and over again, but I don’t have one memory of ever watching this movie, I know I did obviously, I had little mermaid toys etc, but I don’t remember it. I don’t remember anything from my childhood really, which is weird bc nothing traumatic ever happened, I haven’t repressed anything. So why don’t I have a single memory? Everything I “remember” is from what I’ve seen in pictures and home videos. I have very few organic memories it feels like
