Holding Hands
Cintra let Fion take the funky mummified hand off the corpse of the undead general we miraculously managed to defeat last time. Surely this won't have any unintended consequences.... After all, we just got the SunStone back- right? If you like what I do, you can find tiers, commissions, and more on Ko-fi and Patreon~

One of my favorite monologues of Helmina during the game. Other players often asked her opinion about humans, and once she replied. Helmina's heart is filled with hatred and anger, but these feelings are cold. She is more like a predator, methodically hunting her enemies.

Most of you probably already know what this is but, a new blog means we gotta cover some basics. I like to overdo stuff sometimes~
What is a TTRPG?
Well, first of all, it is the shortened term for the genre known as Table-Top Role Playing Game. Some people call it a Table "Talk" Role Playing Game and that's fine too, both versions work ♡
But when you get past the basic definition, you'll find it's really a diverse space with something to suit everyone. The most commonly known TTRPG I would easily guess is Dungeons and Dragons, aka D&D.
But it is NOT the only one out there! There are so many more to choose from, so don't feel shackled to the one system.
There's also games such as Pathfinder which is a similar alternative, and years ago I heard about this fun world known as Shadowrun. In my local comic book/manga/tabletop games shop just the other day I found a new game called Symbaroum and it looks really good, visually and from a world building perspective- If you know the videogame Cyberpunk 2077, you'll find it's actually a TTRPG first as well!
Mostly I'm going to be focused on the games that Dustfire Media get into, which means most regularly I'll be posting about #AvatarLegends and #ScumandVillainy but thanks to #TheForge (Patreon's only!) They expand and explore other TTRPGS as well, so I don't want anyone to feel limited or restrained about what TTRPGs they can talk with me about.
Just the other day Justin mentioned a game called Fabula Ultima and I fell in love with it, so I bought the PDFs straight up.
But to cap off this post, whether you love abusing mechanics to get the strongest builds in the silliest of ways, or you want to practice method acting with your friends or anything between, a Table Top Role Playing Game is an awesome way to spend time with friends and family, as well as having some goofy fun.
Have a Varrick for making it to the end~

We're gonna be playing Symbaroum and I'm coming up with a PC, they're a Changeling self taught mystic. It's pretty guaranteed they're gonna be buddies with an ogre. I think they'll have a bad case of "hating humans" due to being shunned by the family for being a Changeling, and just have a bad attitude in general to ppl who aren't the ogre.
They're a self taught mystic, but also, I think they'd be the type to just try to force ppl to give them stuff they need, or they steal it, but they're not the absolute best about it bc they're neither too strong nor too stealthy.
Also they can summon bug larva to eat their enemies from the inside out so you know

11.02.
I lack creativity today, so I just wanna share a (not top) list of ttrpg systems I gmed. With some extra notes just for the GMs:
Pathfinder 1e - many options, many rules, many items. Don't get a rules lawyer at your table, trust me...
D&D 5e - the DMG is just a bunch of ideas rather than a toolbox for the DM. No beautiful list of magic items. Hard to determine loot, because prices suck and here is why
Tiny Dungeon - one half of the book are rules, the other one are micro-settings for inspiration. Neat to have, I liked it. Rather than that: Prepare for spontaneous coming up with stuff. Works good for me.
Cairn - lists of many stuff. Easy to handle and easy to hack system. Lacks pregen monsters, therefore can be unbalanced sometimes. Perfect for sandbox style, when you have some extra OSR splatbooks.
Starfinder - pretty much like Pathfinder, but in spaaaace!!
Aborea - a good start into ttrpg. Rules can be confusing at first glance, but the "ahhh!"-effect hits hard afterwards. Some good tools and optional stuff to suit a tables style.
Symbaroum - no rolling dice is advertised, you will still roll dice, IF you want to roll some dice (of course you want to roll some dice, cmon). Good atmospheric books with an atmospheric setting. Easy rules, yet more complex than OSR.
Fallout 2d20 - lists. Lists. LISTS. SO MANY LISTS AND THEY ARE USEFUL! You will never run out of loot for your players. Your players will never run out of fancy options. Dice pool of the players can deny some unbalancing you accidentally put on the table

Here's the first post! This is a drawing of my character in Symbaroum, a changeling witch and her familiar - a white raven. She has a very difficult story; changelings in the world of Symbaroum face many challenges.
