I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them

#star trek #Vulcans #Humans #not based on a specific thing #but I used to know this annoying couple that were ‘family friends’ #who would show up to potluck dinners and the like and would either bring nothing or bring something really just. out of left field? #like a bag of frozen chicken to a bbq #and then proceed to make sure they are first even if it was stated to let kids go first #would take HUGE amounts before anyone else got a chance to get a plate #and then make off with the leftovers again even if they were already claimed for #and it wasn’t a food insecurity thing trust me I would never speak bad about a person getting food if that was even a remote chance #the adults who raised us knew them really well and we’d been to their house a ton of times #they were just dicks #and yeah. they’d occasionally insult the food. while eating the MAJORITY of it. #it was so weird at their home they would go out of their way to get the healthiest options possible #you know the really bland tasteless expensive stuff that apparently was healthier #but then if they were visiting our house they would. eat all our unhealthy snacks. #that always pissed me off so much as a kid because we actually had a food insecurity thing going on #and also a variety of other reasons that are a bit too depressing to bring up on this post #but anyways we’d hardly ever get to have nice snacks #and this couple would just take them all??? even after we’d tell them repeatedly that it was ours and those snacks weren’t gonna be #replaced #hated that couple #if you’re wondering why they were ‘family friends’ it’s because the couple who raised us #(it feels weird to type it out like that but apparently legal guardians doesn’t fit since they never finished petitioning 💀) #liked having them around because it made them look like ‘such great Christian’s’ being nice to the people #that no one else wanted to be friends with #I always thought that was a really weird and fucked up reason to be friends with someone #this got long sorry 😭

bucktommy and the rest of the firefam having a lil family gathering at bobby and athena's house. and buck spends a majority of the afternoon playing with the kiddo's, so tommy spends a majority of the afternoon making heart eyes at his adorable, silly, golden retriever boyfriend (and takes all the teasing he gets for it from his family like a champ).

and eventually, buck makes his way back over to the adult side of the party, only there's nowhere for him to sit. but before anyone can make space for him, he decisively makes his way over to tommy and just. plonks himself down straight into his boyfriend's lap. tommy doesn't even bat an eye. just. moves his arms out of the way to make space for buck and then wraps them securely around buck's waist when he's all settled in and comfortable. presses a quick kiss to his cheek, greets buck with a soft, "hey, baby," and then carries on his conversation with eddie. buck beams, cheeks flushing slightly even after all this time. mindlessly grabs one of tommy's hand and locks their fingers together, letting them fall to rest against his lap. misses the soft smiles he gets from his family at the interaction and turns to join in on the conversation everyone else has going on around him.

(eventually, as the evening goes on, little by little, he sinks further into tommy. body unconciously shifting, progressively curling inwards, towards his boyfriend. head slowly dipping, drifting further and further down until it's fully resting against tommy's shoulder. his conversation tapering off. it's a losing battle to keep his fluttering eyes open after tommy lifts his free hand to start stroking through his hair. there's a kiss pressed to the top of his head and he hums, content.)

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wen qing #wen ning #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #In the audio drama she quite literally opens the door and then leaves after seeing them without breaking conversation. #It is both so impressive and deeply funny to me. #I imagine her just literally pivoting in one foot and walking right out. #She came home after a long day at work and in 0.5 seconds went “I would rather go back to the office than deal with this right now”. #Besides tickling me to near tears - this scene is also a great introduction to Wen Qing - her first instinct is to protect! #She lives by the code of 'I don't care who you are - if you need help I will lend it.' a true doctor and professional. #Sure she is *mad* that Wen Ning puts himself (and her to a lesser extent) at risk by helping 'the enemy' but she gives in quick. #I love Wen Qing a lot - she is such an unsung hero in this story. #Sorry that her first appearance on this blog was...what it was. I really despise the Marvelification of Stranger Things, because all the interviews nowadays are constantly referencing how fast paced and epic and big the finale will be but the reason people fell in love with the show wasn't special effects or long episodes; it was the plot, it was the characters, it was the mystery. Stranger Things 1 may have been a story about a government conspiracy and a monster, but that's not why we stuck around. The show can throw amazing CGI, Russians, a battle within the American army and an apocalypse at the audience with the biggest budget known to man but if they forget to ground it and keep it central, it'll just get lost amongst a plethora of other "epic" blockbusters. We want Steven King, not Avengers.
