Bright Moon Stable’s abuzz with news that Mara’s hired a former Olympian to lead their new show team, but Adora wants nothing to do with any of it. Starlight - she/her Medium Starlight plush from The Saddle Club I got my original plush in the early 2000s from a family friend, this one i found later as a replacement after the original was passed on to another family friends kid where she was also very loved. These plush are honestly the cuddliest floppiest horse plushies i've ever come across, they're so soft and such a nice size to hold, i love their calm expressions as well.

Spiritually a Saddle Club AU, it centers around the antics in and around a horseback riding school.

A small excerpt...

Adora could only stand stunned as Catra shoved the reins into her hand and then walked out of the stableyard without a glance back. "What the actual FUCK?" Glimmer had her saddle resting on her hip but looked half a second from throwing it to the ground and punching the new girl in the face. "It's not like she just wandered into l! She was in our class! She’s knows you’re not just some groom!" "It's fine!" It wasn't fine and Adora’s face felt like it was going to split from all the fake smiling, but she checked the lesson list for the name of Catra's horse. "'Silver Storm' and I have never gotten to hang out before! I'll take care of him while I do Swifty, it's no problem." Glimmer still looked like she wanted to fight but thankfully took the pleading look in Adora's eyes as a hint to drop it. "I'll help. But for the record? I retract my dibs. You can have her." Adora laughed though she felt like crying. "Gee, thanks."

i love that the plot of season one episode one of the saddle club is basically ‘Veronica attempts to murder Stevie using Comanche the horse’s anxiety as a weapon against her’ and we just never mention that again.

This one goes out to all my early 2000s horse girlies!!

Who were your favourites? For me out of the girls it was Stevie, but my favourite horses on the show were Hugo the andalusian (the fancy French horse who got stolen) and Diablo the fresian mix (the wild black horse who belonged to the Romani boy)

I also remember making up an entire herd of my own horses, which may have been some of my first ocs? I'm pretty sure I still have drawings of some of them somewhere. The main 2 I can remember were Swift, a black arabian with a white star, and Storm, a grey arabian.

I went through a bit of an arabian obsession after watching the Black Stallion lol 😂

Watching The Saddle Club as an adult is weird because I just want to tell Lisa to stand up for herself. But, the reality is although I wanted to be like Stevie and Carol I was a lot like Lisa, and asserting yourself with a mother who likes the idea of you much more than the reality of you is easier said than done.
