Alright, I need a second opinion again! Why is Rue always the one that makes me question myself the most? It’s very meta, isn’t it? 😂 I’m pretty set with the design for Kraehe, but I’ve come up with three possible designs for Rue, and it’s all contingent on whether I should include some ravens or not.
The Rue piece is supposed to invoke the Dying Swan solo she does when she trapped by the Monster Raven. I’m not sure if having three ravens makes the composition too busy, but I thought having some ravens present would be a nice call back to the before mentioned scene from the anime, while also kind of mirroring Ahiru’s design where duck!Ahiru is next to human!Ahiru (ie one image has bird(s) the other also has bird(s), or something like that.
Anyway, lemme know which you prefer through the poll! Just keep in mind I’ll also have floral and star chart design in the background like the Tutu and Ahiru pieces, so it’s not gonna be completely empty in the back.

Dear reader friends,
Authors can see your public bookmarks. When you bookmark a work and don't choose to make it private, they can read what you wrote in the tags. This is great if you wrote silly things like "this made me smile" or even "screaming crying throwing up when I read this" (and I can tell you that us writers absolutely go into the bookmarks hunting for tags like this because we are praise-hungry little freaks), but not so great when the tags are something like "author is clearly an amateur, do not come back to this one".
I've kinda gone back and forth on this topic in my head, because on the one hand people are totally allowed to put whatever they want in a bookmark's tags and authors are voluntarily going into bookmarks to read any potential public tags. However, if the option to make a bookmark private is there and you are going to write something not so nice to remember the fic by (which is totally valid! some fics are just not for some people!), I feel like it's okay for us authors to at least ask that you consider making your bookmark private?
Once again, I would like to reiterate: there is nothing wrong with not liking a fic. There is nothing wrong with tagging it "this was awful and I hated it". All I and my fellow writers ask is that you check that lil box that makes the bookmark private, allowing you to be the only one who sees it.
After all, if I'm taking off my Writer Hat and putting on my Reader Hat, I am the only person I'm writing that review/making those tags for. I am not tagging my bookmark, saying, "this fic is awful don't read it" so that other people know not to read the fic. That would be mean and (maybe I'm out of line saying this, but oh well) out of line. This is not GoodReads. This is Ao3, and writers are voluntarily writing lovely things that they've put pieces of their heart and soul into that you can consume for free. All we ask is that you're kind in return. :)
So reader friends, if you finished a fic and you didn't like it all that much, please consider ticking that little box that makes the bookmark private. There is nothing wrong with tagging it in a way that warns you to steer clear, but please do it in a place the creator of said work can't see it. Thank you, we love you! :D
Sincerely, your writer friends

Ok question for the mass effect fans out there, it's pretty much cannon that biotics make your metabolism faster right? Jack makes a comment about how she's never hung over because her biotics burn the alcohol away so fast. So my question is, would that also apply to things like medications? Say someone had a condition that required a certain dosage, would they need more to see the same results? And does anyone know if it's based on like, how often someone used their biotics or is it just a background effect?
Biotics is the one topic in mass effect I know almost nothing about since I've only ever played half of me1 using them 😅 and I don't currently have space for the games to boot it up and talk to Kaiden and Jack lmao. Atp even just widely accepted fannon cause ya girl is struggling 😭.

All of this points to the power possessed by a superior personality. On the one hand, such a man will have a view of the real sentiments of the great mass of humanity and therefore cannot be deceived; on the other, he will impress the people so profoundly, by his mere existence and by the impact of his personality, that they will be swayed by him as the grass by the wind.

When I ordered the Marlboro Adventure Miles Kayak, my mother asked...
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU GONNA DO WITH THAT?!"
Well...I called her a little while ago and told her this was the day I needed it for.
Took a while ...but eventually these things have a purpose.

Hindsight
I hate hindsight.
I hate that awful clarity that comes from looking back over something. And seeing all that I did to make it harder than it had to be. It’s a rotten feeling.
But it’s also not true. Why do I say that?
Because hindsight is a form of omniscience. Knowing how it all would play out allows us to see where things went wrong, where we made it worse.
That’s helpful information for the future. So, we don’t repeat our mistakes. And that’s about it.
The problem comes when we use the omniscience of hindsight for other purposes. Like beating ourselves up for not getting it right the first time.
Why do that? At the time you were doing it, you didn’t know how it would turn out. You didn’t see the problem that would happen, the one that seems so obvious now – with the omniscience of hindsight.
This is why I say that the rotten feeling that can come with hindsight just isn’t true.
Because at the time you did it, you didn’t know how it would turn out. At the time you made the call, you weren’t who you are now.
It’s kind of unrealistic to expect yourself to have the wisdom of hindsight, without the hindsight. To think that you’re going to get it perfect the first time.
Perfect the first time? Without the wisdom that comes from experience? Good luck with that.
I don’t know where that toxic expectation of perfection comes from. But I do know that it’s not from God. And whoever pushes that garbage is doing the work of the Enemy.
How can I say that? Let’s start with today’s Gospel.
It’s the one where Jesus heals the blind man. And after the first time Jesus lays hands on him, he’s only partially healed. Why?
The blind man isn’t ready to receive the healing Jesus wants to give him. Which is why he doesn’t get it perfect on the first try.
Notice what Jesus in response to the blind man not getting it perfect on the first try.
Jesus doesn’t say, That’s just sad. You know, if you’d believed in Me little more, you could have been fully healed. Next.”
What does Jesus actually do? Jesus doesn’t give up.
Jesus keeps at it. Until the man is able to receive the healing Jesus wants to give him. Until he’s fully healed.
Which tells us what? That God doesn’t expect us to get it perfect the first time. And God’s okay with that.
But there’s more to it. The thing to remember, the thing to hold onto?
God doesn’t give up on us when we don’t get it perfect.

I’m planning to start working on Rue/Kraehe next, and since I’m also posting the artwork in this series on Instagram, I get to pick a piece of music to go along with it. I already know I wanna use the music from scene 2 of Giselle for Rue…but I’m drawing a blank for Kraehe 😅 I’ve replayed the entire PT OST at least a half dozen times now, yet I still can’t pick a good piece for her 😓
Lemme know what your recommendations are in a comment. The only stipulation I have is that it needs to have been used in Princess Tutu.

already thinking "and by 'religious' really i mean 'christian'" re: how the term "religion" is not really useful when it's largely like, from a christian perspective, what is considered "equivalent" of christianity, see: perhaps a "rival"/obstacle to some person or group being considered christian....and even if not thinking about converting anyone, resulting in some at best misinterpretation / misrepresentation based on framing it through/as [element of christianity] and limiting of any more accurate language
like how tumblr recommends me a post about someone thinking about "religion" in general and concluding that it's Weird and perhaps Wrong for anyone who is a "true believer" in their religion(tm) to Not be proselytizing / trying to Convert everyone. like yeah why isn't everyone being an evangelical christian, they ought to be, benevolently informing all those around them that they're going to hell, otherwise. don't see any problem with this conclusion, or that someone's getting antisemitic in the notes already in agreement, or that That's Not How This Works and you don't just know how All "Religion" works based on considering it to be an alternate version of christianity (which in itself doesn't All work like that either)

The Prodigal Son Returns: Prince Zuko, the Blue Spirit, and the Parable of Identity. Assessing the Rhetorics Avatar: The Last Airbender as a Media Theorist
Zuko’s role as the Blue Spirit in the popular animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” serves as a poignant parable about identity, sacrifice, and redemption. As a prince of the Fire Nation and son of Fire Lord Ozai, Zuko’s life is defined by his familial ties and his duty to the Fire Nation. However, his struggle to reconcile his loyalty to his family with his own moral compass drives him to…
