This is the dumbest and funniest thing I've written in a long time.

“We gotta focus on finding Monkey King and the others,” MK told them.

“But how are we going to find them? This city is huge and it’s almost too dark to see my hand in front of your face!” Mei shoved her hand in front of MK’s face to prove her point. “How are we going to find the others in this chaos?”

Bai He glanced towards MK--who she knew had magic golden vision that could see just about anything if he set his mind to it--and then towards all of the phones they had out--currently being used as glorified flashlights but with the capability to at least make a few local phones calls if needed. “I feel like we’re missing a couple of obvious solutions here.”

MK facepalmed. “Oh, duh-doy! What’s the quickest way to get someone’s attention?”

“Normally I’d say “setting something on fire”, but I get the feeling that’s not going to be very helpful right now…” Poppy Blue spared a glance towards the multiple trash fires and torches being used around them right now.

“Concerning answer, but no!” MK stood tall and heroic as he answered his own question. He took a deep breath and let out a shout “DADSY! TANGY! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?!”

“PIGGY! TANG! SANDY! MONKEY KING! OLLIE-OLLIE-OXEN-FREE!” Mei copied her bestie with an eager grin. Bai He opened her mouth to protest, before sighing tiredly and pocketing her phone. Well, if can’t beat them and all.

“MARCO? MARCO?” Bai He shouted. She paused and, predictably, got no response. Poppy Blue stared at the trio in confusion as MK and Mei started to walk ahead, shouting out for their missing friends.

“Who’s Ollie and why is his ox for free?” She stroked her chin thoughtfully. “And why are we looking for Marco when Monkey King is the one in danger?”

Bai He rolled her eyes and grabbed Poppy Blue’s wrist, leading her after MK and Mei like a lost puppy. “Don’t worry about it. Just start shouting and maybe we’ll find the others before Citizen Crazy finds us.”

“Buh?”

“Just follow our leads.” Bai He told Poppy Blue. “MARCO? MARCO?!”

“DADSY! TANGY! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?!”

“OLLIE-OLLIE-OXEN-FREE!”

Poppy Blue stared at her friends in confusion before shrugging. She then opened her mouth like a trash bin lid and let out a loud, continuous “A a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a!” like she was the world’s weirdest siren.
