I love how London Torchwood is a huge organisation with massive influence and resources whereas Cardiff Torchwood is 5 random people in a leaky cave who are absolutely shit at their job and spend 90% of their time fixing problems that THEY CAUSED

jack remarking that he's "missed this" while running from danger with the doctor is so crazy like his life since the doctor left him has been nothing but constant danger as the head of torchwood except back there he's thrust into the role of leader as the person who's objectively the most experienced but he's just some guy!! he doesn't know anything he's constantly fucking up and put in impossible situations and ruining things and we even see how easily the team organises in his absence. like clearly he did not miss danger he just missed having someone who can tell him which way to run from it....

I haven't seen the new episodes yet. But from what I can gather this show is wish fulfillment and I'm quite excited that from what I've heard so far the plot is going like. The Most ideal way i would have hoped for it to be written

(and not cgi dog like so many cdramas lol) #14 instead of fighting yr rival you move in with him and take care of him mutually <3 check #just like. excellent exceplent all around #oh and for me bonus: case of the week plots with character arcs as the other half of the episode writing #which i find is a much easier structure to watch on and off (like Guardian Torchwood Buffy etc) #also the show recaps the last scene at the start of the new episode. which again is great for making #things easier to remember

sleeper is so fucking heartbreaking. not even the sex jokes balance it out. the ‘murderous alien desperately wants to be human/believes they’re a human until they discover that they’re not and haven’t been for a long time’ trope has been done like 7 times in doctor who but it gets me EVERY TIME!!!
