The ukrainian kids at work taught me counting out games in russian and ukrainian today (like eenie meenie, miney, mo ...). We played заморозка (playing catch with "freezing" when you get caught). I asked them to write them down because i thought this might be interesting
(Elementary school kids wrote these and I don't know if the spelling is 100% correct. Please do correct if you know!)

What are some untranslatable or confusing slang words or sentences that would make no sense without explanation? I’ll go first!
Using “ass” as a suffix — mostly used to indicate a sense of “a lot” or “entirely.” Also used to increase the intensity of the word. Can be used to indicate anger or to be funny.
“Bless your heart.” — Southern United States — Passive aggressive “F**k you.”

Langblr Reactivation Challenge: Week 1 Day 2
Didn't upload for a day or two bc uhh shit happened, it's all good now though. Anyway, I like this prompt a lot because although I do set goals for language learning, I don't usually write them down.
Short term:
🇺🇦 I just want to be able to write this goal in Ukrainian 🥲
Long term:
🇺🇦 I want to reach A2 in speaking and writing by the end of next year (so like 14 months) and B2 in reading and listening. It's a big gap between the two but comprehension is a lot easier lol

A certain type of human strength is required in order to be a warrior in life. This strength is built from the ground up.
It demonstrates bravery.
It employs honour.
It conquers suffering.
It defines the value of adversity.
It’s an inner gift that keeps giving in the form of a power.
It enables a fight deep inside you and that fight fucking THRIVES - boldly, even in the darkest corners of the world.
It creates a strength so fucking solid its unbreakable.
This is a rare gift to have.
and Ukrainians,
… we have it.

Blow to my hubris when I added a Ukrainian translation mod to Stardew Valley and only understood like 1-2% of the words bc I am still very much a beginner
Not enough to stop me from changing the game to Spanish now, which I do not speak or study, tho admittedly know more of.

More langblr than studyblr, but I am still alive! Finals were a bit rough. All of my students finished their final projects before the end of the finals time, so I decided to take advantage of the projector in the classroom and project Совиний Дім on the screen to get some listening practice with Ukrainian.
Attached photo shows a scene from The Owl House Series 2, with Hooty in Lilith's arms and the caption «О?

100 Days of Productivity Review
So about 100 days ago I made a list of goals I wanted to accomplish. At the time I had recently started treatment for my ADHD and was trying to get my life back together. As is traditional I dropped off updating shortly into the challenge. It's been a lot of ups and downs, with good and bad. I've struggled to be consistent, but I also have reached some major success.
I got into nursing school!!!! I'm nervous as hell but happy to be working towards my dream.

Salut tlm :) Pour mon premier post j'ai décidé à commencer le Langblr Reactivation Challenge de @prepolyglot (https://prepolyglot.tumblr.com/post/698371492906483712/langblr-reactivation-challenge).
----------------------------------------------------
Day 1: Introduction
🇫🇷Bonjour !
