Ummmm for fanfic ideas, idunno if you're a fan of angst? But maybe on their early stages of the relationship, kevin makes fun of acting, maybe he was ranting about some other teen he doesn't like (possibly stevonie 👀) and he says "they look like a nerdy theater kid, y'know?" And keeps on going

And jamie is really hurt about it. But he doesn't want kevin to think he's "not cool" and keeps it on the inside, getting more and more distant

This can grow into a argument, that can either end with kevin seeing he might have to learn to be nicer to people, or with jamie leaving, depending on how much ya like pain :D

“That’s confusing”

Jamie handed Nanafua the clipboard and a pen to sign for her delivery, looking up as he heard Kevin’s familiar voice. Looking around he saw him sitting at a table with Sour Cream. He was about to turn back to Nanafua when he heard Kevin say something else.

“They look like a nerdy theater dork, Y’know”

Jamie frowned, trying to ignore Kevin's comment. He knew he wasn't talking about him, but it hurt anyway. He turned back to Nanafua to see that she had signed her name. Jamie looked back towards Kevin, as he walked towards the door, trying to avoid overhearing anything else. But he still caught parts of their conversation.

He heard Kevin saying that he 'didn't get theatre' and that it 'sounded dumb'.

“Then why do you like Jamie?” He heard Sour Cream ask

“I mean, he’s cute, but he’s a total dork” Kevin replied

Jamie turned away, trying not to let the words sting. He shook his head, trying to ignore the spiral of thoughts beginning to form.

Jamie wondered why he even liked Kevin as he finished his deliveries.

He'd tried his best to distract himself with work, but the long walks to make deliveries only gave him more time to worry. The longer he spent thinking about what Kevin said, the worse he felt. He wished he didn't like Kevin, but the thought of his crush not liking him broke his heart. He'd been trying to avoid Kevin for the past week, hoping it would make his feelings go away.

It didn’t.

Kevin glanced at Jamie as he walked past, it was the first time he'd seen him all week. Jamie had been ignoring his texts, and they hadn't met during the week. He expected Jamie to at least acknowledge his existence, but he just brushed past him. Kevin turned to look at him in confusion, before turning back around.

Kevin wondered why Jamie was avoiding him as he made his way home, trying, and failing, to keep himself from panicking over it. He eventually resolved to ask Jamie to do something with him, sending him a text before he laid down on his bed.

Kevin woke with a start as his phone buzzed underneath him. He hurriedly picked it up. His face practically lit up before falling when he realized it wasn't Jamie. He pushed down the feeling of disappointment rising inside him. Kevin sighed and dismissed the notification.

He checked the text he’d sent Jamie, which had been left on read. He looked away from his phone, trying to decide what to do. Finally, he decided to text Sour Cream for some advice.

Kevin: hey, I need some advice

Kevin: I'm pretty sure Jamie has been avoiding me

Sour Cream: maybe he met you

Kevin: I'm serious! He hasn't answered any of my texts and he's barely glanced at me

Sour Cream: I dunno

Sour Cream: go ask Garnet she's good with relationship stuff

Kevin: uh ok

Kevin groaned and rolled over. How the hell was he going to find Garnet, he barely knew what she looked like. Kevin sighed and pulled out his phone, texting Steven.

Kevin: hey do you know Garnet

Steven: yeah, she's my mom

Steven: why

Kevin: I need to talk to her

Kevin: what's her phone number

Steven: I don't think she has a phone

Steven: also even if she did I wouldn't tell you

Kevin rolled his eyes before turning off his phone. Great. It took him nearly an hour of walking around to find her.

"Garnet!" He called out. "Hey, can I talk to you"

"Yeah, sure" she replied, looking mildly surprised "what's going on"

"Uh... well..." Kevin started, fidgeting with his hands. "Do you know Jamie?"

Garnet raised an eyebrow, "Yeah"

"Well I kinda have a crush on him" Kevin looked away, feeling himself turn red "but lately he's been completely ignoring me"

Garnet nodded "he's probably upset about something"

Kevin scowled slightly "That doesn't really help me here"

Garnet laughed and ruffled his hair "Just talk to him, okay?"

"Uh, alright" Kevin glared at her but nodded.

It took Kevin nearly the whole day to find Jamie. He finally spotted Jamie walking away from a house. He ran up to him, panting slightly. Jamie turned around, surprise written across his face.

"What are you doing here?" Jamie asked, looking somewhat annoyed. Kevin winced and shifted uncomfortably under Jamie's gaze.

"We need to talk" Kevin mumbled, trying to seem more confident than he felt. Jamie's expression softened slightly

"alright" he replied "but I have to finish my deliveries"

"Sure" Kevin agreed, jogging to catch up with Jamie. They walked in silence for a few seconds, neither knowing how to break the tension.

Finally, Jamie spoke "so, what did you want to talk about?"

Kevin hesitated before speaking "why are you avoiding me?"

Jamie looked away, his cheeks reddening slightly. He opened his mouth to speak, but then stopped and closed it again. He stared at the ground as they walked in silence, which was only broken when Kevin noticed the tears falling down Jamie's cheeks.

"Jamie?" Kevin asked in concern, reaching his hand up to wipe the tears away "what's wrong?"

Jamie stepped away from him quickly, shaking his head.

"Why are you being nice?" Jamie snapped.

Kevin flinched slightly, he watched as Jamie wiped a tear from his cheek

"all you do is make fun of me and now you care!?"

Kevin froze "what?"

Jamie glared at him. "You're such an asshole Kevin"

"Jamie, wait-" Kevin reached forward and grabbed Jamie's arm "please I'm sorry"

Jamie's expression softened slightly, but it remained cold "no you're not."

Kevin let go and took a step back "I am, really, you're like the only other person I care about in this stupid town!"

Jamie paused for a moment, trying to figure out if Kevin was lying or not. When he couldn't come up with a conclusion, he looked away and crossed his arms over his chest. Kevin reached forward slowly, trying to convince Jamie otherwise.

"Jamie... please" he murmured. Jamie looked away, wiping at his cheeks. Kevin slowly cupped Jamie's face in his hands, wiping his tears away. Jamie stepped forwards and wrapped his arms around Kevin's waist, hugging him tightly, burying his face into Kevin's neck. Kevin held onto him tightly, trying desperately not to cry.

"Please don't hate me," Kevin whispered, burying his face into Jamie's hair to hide his tears.

Jamie shook his head, pulling away slightly so he could look Kevin in the eyes. Kevin could feel tears run down his cheeks. Seeing the fear in Kevin's eyes hurt him more than he thought it would, especially since he was usually so confident and cocky.

Jamie cupped Kevin's face in his hands and leaned in, their lips brushing against each other. Kevin gasped softly before kissing him. He pulled away after a moment, letting his forehead rest against Jamie's.

They stood there in silence, holding onto each other. It seemed like forever before either of them said anything. Kevin looked up, smiling at Jamie, who grinned back in response.

"I still have to finish my mail route," said Jaime "wanna come with me?"

"Of course," Kevin replied, kissing him quickly before following Jamie.

OOOOH oh my god ok so like the problem is most people who suggest battles are like. not very good at suggesting battles and so many of them are just So nothing they dont really stick in my head.... i have seen neil armstrong vs buzz lightyear floating around which part of me is kinda Eh about cause neil doesn't really seem like the type but i suppose i could see him having the same sorta style as mr rogers/oppenheimer just a bit calmer but still like. brutal n straight to the point. anyway idk how good of a matchup it actually is but i'd just like to see a space battle. something something buzz aldrin/woody as sidekicks. i dont know. have also seen people saying they could bring rob rico back to play jon snow which i dont have much of a stake in cause i havent seen got but if they did i dont care who they'd pair him with i just want rob rico to be in another battle LOL

the only suggestion i ever Really wanted them to make when i was younger was ned kelly vs dick turpin and/or billy the kid like i was big on the idea of them having another australian and just doing some non-american history in general but i've seen ned kelly vs robin hood too and i do love that idea i just think it'd be fun + chance to bring in a dancer with the mask on like they did with boba fett and deadpool!

i wanted to include ghetsis in my speculations bc i feel like he had a hand in whatever issue the king was having and probably pushed the rift between nobori and kudari. we haven't heard from him yet so its a sneaking suspicion 🤔 i also wanted to include allusions to kyurem since i mentioned the forest of mirrors as a boundary between wonderland and the real world and guess who's the boundary pokemon idk bulbapedia said it was a husk pokemon idk who that is *wink wink nudge nudge* and since our resident amnesiac kudari was there maybe it means something? i also wanted to make some comparisons between kyurem and the king but i felt it was getting wayyy out of hand hehe

also also as you can probably tell i believe that wonderland is very much a real place but it is also a product of a dream since gen 5 had that dream world mechanic dunno how that's gonna fit in the story but its a nice thought

i also have thoughts on the memory hall and why the king restricted the place and why ingo got like conflicting memories but i am running out of words i need to soak my brain somewhere else first byeee have a nice day/night!!!

I'm delighted to meet another Emmet simp! One of the big motivators behind 'I wish for truth' was for Emmet to not be a sad sad angsty depressed boy for once. Hence, him being a mysterious, powered up, bamf lol. I'm so very glad my story was able to provide that break from the *angst* that I myself was looking for.

I'm honoured to have someone so aware of my works! Communication on AO3 is relatively limited and I don't get much feedback aside from what's available on there (and social media ain't really my thing), so it's nice to know that there are people who notice and appreciate. The concept of having fans is still somewhat foreign to me cos all I'm doing is writing stuff... (that's all self-indulgent lolol). (btw, I still haven't shaken my habit of refreshing the Emmet tag on AO3 several times a day)

I will admit that my first moments of being a writer on AO3 were verrry... stalker-y? I'd just look at the profiles of anyone who kudo-ed or bookmarked my stuff, which is probably not that creepy? idk XD (I looove Roxana, she's so cool and gosh the art in that manwha is soooo pretty. Oh, I haven't heard of princess' doll shop! I'll definitely give it a look! Thank you for the rec~)

Fic Writer Questions!

1) How many works do you have on AO3?

110 on my main account (+ 4 on my sneaky sock for Crimes™ lol)

2) What’s your total AO3 word count?

614,551 on my main account which is. hm. a lot

3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

obvi the main ones are the terror (50 fics) and good omens (35 fics). beyond that: TMA, the OA, doctor who, LOST, red dwarf, what we do in the shadows, the aubreyad, legends of tomorrow, banished, MCU, bbc ghosts, jeeves & wooster, russian doll, true detective, twin peaks, fleabag, & it's always sunny.

so technically 19, but wow a LOT of those are because i am a fiend for crossovers. (true detective x red dwarf... twin peaks x hannibal... the OA x lost.... russian doll x doctor who...) and many of the others were one-offs for yuletide. i'm pretty monofannish when it comes to writing!

4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

lol they're all going to be for good omens... let's see

1. "it's a new craze" - the podcast fic. imho this fic is the definition of "The Claw," a.k.a. the phenomenon that sees some fics plucked out from the fray to become super popular. i'm not denying that it's good! i still think it's pretty clever! but its popularity was probably as much a function of timing as of quality

2. "what a way to make a living" - the uber driver fic. honestly still pretty proud of this one, it flows well and is structurally interesting and genuinely very funny and the perfect length. i had a blast in good omens fandom writing comedic fic, this one

3. "dearly departed" - another one i'm still very happy with. my first ever finished multi-chapter fic & the story that proved to me i could sustain a plot and original characters and also that people would actually enjoy it. so a pretty big deal!

4. "blame it on my juice, baby!" - the fake love potion one. i wrote this fic while delirious with horrible fever cooped up in a tiny council flat airbnb bedroom in london. i think it's still pretty strong although since writing it i've developed a severe aversion to the "meddling friend engineers a get-together" trope in fic & so cringe a bit when i read it back, lmao

5. "greatest hits" - the one with the original songs! the songs are still good.... the fic is ehhhhhhh i guess.

5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

i don't respond to comments on most of my gomens fic anymore because 🤷‍♀️ but i do try to reply to everything i get on my terror fic/smaller fandom stories! my replies are usually very lame but i do like to take the time to thank people for reading.

6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

i usually don't write angsty endings because i'm a weenie BUT the one exception is probably my terror/TMA crossover which cannot be said to end well by any means lol

7) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

dearly departed has a very lovely ending... i will also plug my OA fic heat rises which is GREAT and has a GREAT ending and nobody read it because nobody watched the OA. i'm fine it's fine

8) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

as mentioned above, yes, compulsively... award for craziest simply has to go to It's Always Sunny In Another Dimension which is, yes, an IASIP x OA crossover. i apologize for nothing

9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?

not that i can recall, [bubbe voice] tenks gad!!!

10) Do you write smut? If so what kind?

i do i do.... when i first picked up fic writing again after college i thought smut would forever totally beyond me but after some very kind encouragement from friends i tried my hand at it & was off to the races.

i would not say i am an expert at it by any means but i have a lot of fun with it, & people seem to generally appreciate it, so i will keep going!

11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

also no, phew

12) Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes, a bunch of my gomens fics have been translated into chinese and russian, which is so so super cool!

13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

yuh, i had a few legendary cowrites in GO! the slow show metafic with cherry @fremulon and the shitscript crossover extravaganza with hallie @kalelraejepsen !!! both tremendously fun experiences

14) What’s your all time favorite ship?

that is a very tough one. if you go by my ao3 bookmarks it's aziraphale/crowley, which might be true still tbh... but i dunno. maybe ten/rose because that shit never leaves you.

15) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

in terms of fic i already started posting, there's my one terror WIP with amnesiac tozer that i swear i WILL finish one day... and same goes for my good omens music & lyrics AU, which i fully expect to pick back up and finish off when i inevitably return to the fandom for series 2.

as far as stuff that never made it out of drafts, i started a hodgson-centric fic a few weeks ago that i got like 4k into before realizing i need to seriously refine my approach. so hopefully after exe fest i will get around to that!

16) What are your writing strengths?

well i am funny. so i've got that going for me. other than that ummmm i don't know. i don't think of myself as a particularly good or strong writer bc i really am just here for a laff. i think i can turn a phrase well and get the most out of imagery; i'm good at coming up with compelling story concepts and weird gimmicks, i guess?

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

i fundamentally don't know or understand how People Actually Act And Feel so i have a hard time getting realistic or interesting reactions and conflicts out of characters. my plots (when my stories have them at all) are very powered by external events, i wouldn't call myself a character-driven writer by any means. for the same reasons i struggle with voice and dialogue beyond superficial signposting via vocabulary/syntax. also, sustaining a long story/finding enough Stuff To Happen to fill it up/having the patience to keep writing... is something i need to work on for sure.

18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i'm a lame american who only speaks english so honestly i don't really have thoughts!

19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?

i distinctly remember hand-writing in my notebook two or three pages worth of a story about what happened to the main precog in "minority report" after watching the movie when i was like seven. the first fandom i actually wrote fic for and posted it online was probably doctor who circa 2010 ish? but my warrior cats RP career predates that by a few years and i did a LOT of writing there. oh warriorsforest39 dot proboards dot com you are missed....

20) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

It’s the year 2021 and you’re obsessed with The Karate Kid. How are you feeling?:

Hell yeah! I love TKK, I’m feeling great about it, and I mean, I’ve met a lot of great people in the fandom and great friends <3 Cobra Kai is awesome too!

Did you grow up with TKK or are you new to the series?:

Lol, I guess I grew up with it? I saw TKK when I was six or seven years old and it’s a good memory because my dad was there from one of his excruciatingly long deployments and he had found it on television and he scooped me up and set me in his lap and we watched it together. Of course he fell asleep halfway through and the only reason he woke up was because I tried to do the flying kick that Bobby does to take out Danny’s knee, and I fell over and ended up busting my knee a little on the side of the coffee table, my dad woke up and ended up telling me off for hurting myself, but we sat down and watched the last minute, after he’d put a bandaid on my knee. My dad ended up getting it at the library a while later on VHS so I could see the beginning and ending because I had missed both, it’s kind of one of the best memories I have of my dad. After that, a lot of stuff happened in my life and I kinda forgot about it till I saw a trailer for Cobra Kai, and after that I rented the film from my local library, and watched it about five times... then on a different site I met @transjohnnylawrence and he asked me to a TKK watch party, which honestly was the best. ✨ I’ve met a lot of great people in this fandom and I am so happy that I found it again, because I’ve made some friends... <3 but I said that already :) ✨

the goodbye scene with Tommy in Take a Right... it just sticks with me even though it’s a sad scene... but just hearing them talk by the campfire and seeing Tommy giving Johnny advice and helping him... and also, just... yeah, that just 🥺... got stuck in my head... that or the scene with Robby where he finds his childhood artwork at his dad’s apartment, I get emotionally drawn in thinking about my own childhood, for TKK it was the scene where Bobby is disqualified and throws his belt down in front of Kreese and walks out... and seeing Johnny’s face in the background as Bobby took Daniel out, it just is another sad scene. What was the longest time you’ve had the hiccups for? Maybe for half an hour? Mine are never that bad.

What type of TV shows are your favourite? Not a big TV show type of person to begin with since it seems as if my attention span wasn’t built for once-a-week, season-breaks kind of content haha. I do like sitcoms, I guess...bite-sized ones like Friends, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Big Bang Theory, etc. Drama shows I’d bite into if the plot is extremely intriguing to me or relevant to my interests, like The Crown or Breaking Bad.

Have you ever been a complete fangirl/fanboy over anything? I was before then I wasn’t for a very long time, then I came back just recently with this BTS shit I got myself into.

Do you know anyone who has died in battle? Hmm. I don’t think so. My great-grandpa lived a few more decades after the war.

When was the last time you went on an adventure? July. My friends and I spent the whole day driving around and stopping by sooo many spots around the metro. It was a lot of fun and we were fucking b e a t after.

What brand is your vacuum cleaner? I dunno. My mom mainly uses ours.

Are you good at rapping? I have a number of songs and verses memorized that I can recite quite okay, but I can’t write any of my own.

How do you feel about tanning? I never saw the the big deal. I will say tanning beds and salons are such a culture shock to me, though. Are some people really that obsessed with modifying their skin tone?

Have you ever given a public speech? Hmm, just the one time I was entered into a public speaking competition and was given a topic to talk about on the spot. That was honestly a lot of fun and I wish there were more opportunities to do that exact same thing.

Do you read comic books? No. I tried getting into that whole thing, but didn’t see the appeal.

Do you force your way into conversations in which you are not involved? Not always but if I’m starting to feel left out or awkward, I will start to ask a question here and there to ease my way into the conversation. But if the topic is clearly none of my business then I do stay out of the way.

Do you believe you can change someone? This isn’t a black and white matter, I think. The idea of changing a person can have a lot of layers; in my org, for instance, I got to pick up a few quirks and behaviors from my friends just by being around them for a long time – in that sense, I changed. But you can also strive to change someone who’s struggling and try to make them become happy, which I tried to do with my ex – which of course I learned the hard way that you can’t change someone if in that context.

How did you react when your first pet died? I was bummed out but didn’t throw a fit.

Have you ever drawn anime? No.

Can you use a pogo stick? I’ve never even seen one in real life. I’m dying to try it out just once.

Agree or disagree: You like Adam Sandler movies. Ummmm definitely childish and I can feel that the humor tries so hard sometimes but I do enjoy some of his movies, like 50 First Dates.

Have you ever dated anyone while they were in jail? No, I’ve never dated anyone who’s been imprisoned.

If you’ve ever babysat, do you like it? I ‘babysat,’ but technically all eldest Asian daughters are expected to look out for their younger siblings and cousins anyway. I didn’t actively enjoy it, but sure, it was fun playing with them and it’s always nice to be viewed as responsible.

What is your favorite flavor on sunflower seeds? I don’t eat sunflower seeds. I don’t dislike them, I just really never seek them out.

Do you get cold easily? Yes.

Do you get a lot of spiders in your house? Hmm no. If we do get visited they are almost always too small to be seen.

Do you admire nature? Yeah, I try to be around it as often as I can.

Name one naughty thing you’ve done. Had sex while a few people were in the same room. I pay for it now hahaha; those friends who had the misfortune to be in that situation have never let me live it down and it’s one of their go-to stories when I’m being introduced to new friends.

Do you wax, pluck, or leave your eyebrows? I don’t touch them; I’m never all that worried about my appearance. On very rare instances, I will shave some of the excess hair off. Do you have any interesting scar stories? None of them are interesting tbh, just results of my own stupidity.

Do you hate the texture of meatballs? I don’t hate their texture but I also just don’t enjoy meatballs in general. I find them boring, which has always led me to think if they’re really supposed to be just boring clumps of meat or if I’ve just always been served average meatballs.

They come from a privileged background to begin with and their godfather already handed one of his companies down to them, so. They were also told the CEO position is already a sure slot for them.

What store did you last shop at? I wanna say NCAT, this Korean-themed store that sells trinkets and jewelries and plushies and stuff. They also sell BTS albums so Anj and I dropped by to check out and touch all the albums we can’t afford yet HAHA

1. What is the color of your hairbrush? umm this dark berry red? idk it’s a very old one and i should probably get a new one :’D

2. Name a food you never eat. hmm, am really not that picky with food. but i had an disagreement with meat loaf for a long time bc once as a kid i got sick while eating it and well. let’s say it came back up :) so i was a bit traumatized lol

3. Are you typically too warm or too cold? too cold! definitely ;; that’s why i hate living here when summer is like maybe two weeks and otherwise am freezing 24/7
