it’s absolutely fucking insane to me that insecure won 0 golden globes and 1 emmy (for editing in 2020). like i know tv has been good and all, but that was five years of consistently interesting and enjoyable television. and two of those years fleabag was getting awards for doing like 75% of what insecure had been doing

How do I even articulate this?
Basically I continue to think Klaus is very fucked up but not in the same way that 90 percent of the fandom seems to think (or prefer) and it is the WEIRDEST experience. I'm just constantly like, "oh yeah, I guess that IS how most fans perceive this character."
Does ANYONE else (aside my long-trusted mutuals) get this?

warnings: Mentions of female reader, not safe for under 18! (The Buggy that I am going to use for these headcanons can be either from LA or Anime.)
a/n:  I love making headcanons about characters I love, so here are a few ideas about Buggy!
Soooo I think we all think the same thing, which is that this man's body hair is the same color as his head hair. I think he takes good care of it, meaning he trims it and doesn't let it get too wild. I see that he has some hair on his chest, forearms, and what I like the most, the happy trail ;)
Speaking of hair, Buggy takes VERY good care of his long blue hair. I'm sure this man has a private shower full of all kinds of shampoos, conditioners, hair nutrition, etc. Besides taking care of it, he LOVES to have it combed, especially if it's by you. I can imagine him asking you to comb his hair after a hard day of work where his crew has pushed him to his limits. He'll sit on the bed with his back to you and let his hair down so you can comb it. He'll LITERALLY melt under your hands as you brush his long and silky hair, and don't even get me started if you massage his scalp.
I think that Buggy HAS to have some tattoo, such as a skull with clown details. The most likely place I see the tattoo is on his back or biceps
OH MY GOD, THIS MAN HAS A DAD BOD AND NO ONE CAN ARGUE WITH ME. He has muscular and well-worked biceps but also has a cute dad bod. Why does he have it? Easy, I explain it below
Well, Buggy surely celebrates ABSOLUTELY everything, I mean, any little thing is celebrated with food and drink. Did they rob a village? It's celebrated that same night. Did a show go well? It's celebrated that same night. He loves to eat and drink, I see it in him, especially if there's some celebration involved.
Continuing with the hair topic and the fact that he likes you to comb his hair, it adds that he loves you to do different hairstyles. Would you like to make him a ponytail? "Go ahead, darling!" A braid maybe? "All yours, sweet cheeks." How about curling his hair? "I love it, doll!"
I feel that once Buggy falls in love with you, he becomes COMPLETELY obsessed, I'm not kidding. Buggy will be with you most of the day, or rather take you anywhere so that he can be with you. Due to his insecurities about his nose, he is VERY jealous. I can perfectly see him appearing behind you in a few seconds, putting his hands on your waist and kissing your neck while looking challengingly at the other man. Buggy has arrived and is marking his territory, which is you.
Buggy is the type of partner who ADORES you, I literally think he will treat you as if you were a goddess or some kind of deity to him, and let's not talk about how he would react if you adored him just like he does to you.
Obviously, this man will make thousands and thousands of sexual jokes in any situation, no matter what is happening. He can tell you while eating, while alone in his office, or while you are helping with an essay for his show. He loves to see how nervous you get with his words
Buggy is someone who likes to give nicknames, especially to you if you have a romantic relationship with him. Even before it's officially something, he probably gave you affectionate nicknames like "Honey," "Doll," "Dear," "Sweet Cheeks," etc. I don't know if I'm correct, I just read this, but supposedly each OP character has a nationality assigned by Oda, and if I'm correct, Buggy is French. Soooo, it's possible that he will call you some affectionate nickname in French, something like "Mon chéri," "Ma chérie," "Mon coeur" (Sorry to French speakers if any of this is mistranslated). He will probably also tell you in great detail in French how he's going to fuck and destroy you, but just laugh when you see your confused face because you don't understand.
He loves cuddles, he loves being in your arms and feeling your beautiful hands give him love and cuddles on his face, hair, and body. He sleeps snuggled up next to you, and every chance he gets, he hugs you and presses you against his body to feel its warmth. He simply adores you and adores every part of you with all his soul
I am sure that he spoils you in more than one way. If you are part of the shows, you will be the first to receive words of affirmation from him. He won't stop telling you how incredible you were, how good you were, and that you are undoubtedly the star of the show (behind him, clearly). While he showers you with affection, he won't stop yelling at and scolding others who have been in the show for the slightest mistake. Apart from that, he will give you anything valuable or expensive, from jewelry, clothing, costumes for the shows, shoes, lingerie, to makeup and anything else that comes to mind or you ask for. He is a captain and you are his little and beautiful partner, obviously he has to give you everything, no matter how expensive it is, and take care of you.
I see him as VERY protective, and apart from that, thanks to jealousy, he cares a lot about you. He will be attentive at all times. If you feel a little unwell, he will quickly be shouting and grumbling for a doctor to attend to you. If you get hurt, he will pick you up and be glued to you at all times. He won't leave you alone for a second.
I think a lot about how people smell, and from my point of view, I think Buggy would smell like a mixture of ash because of his cannons, saltwater, whiskey or alcohol in general, a touch of wood, and a slight hint of his body musk.
Tumblr media
Well, I think that Buggy loves to eat his partner, he loves the idea of your thighs pressed around his head while he has his tongue deeply buried between your wet folds. He will drink from your excitement as if it were the best drink ever created by man, he will always look for an excuse to eat you. If he could, he would simply feed on your excitement and could be eating you for a whole day. More than once he has asked you to sit on his face and you have agreed, but always with that fear of suffocating him, he always responds with "Darling, if I have to die, I would be more than honored and satisfied to die suffocated thanks to your beautiful thighs and with my tongue full of your delicious wetness." Eventually, if you are sitting on his face while he eats you, you will always keep your hips a little afloat to avoid sitting completely, to which Buggy will take your thighs and force you to sit completely.
I think we all know that this man uses his Chop Chop power with you in quite sinful ways, he will easily detach his cock from his body and choke you with it, letting you feel how it fills your throat and how his balls hit your chin while saliva drips from your mouth, staining everything. Your mouth won't be the only thing he fills, he will bury himself deeply in your wet vagina and fuck you while he watches you being fucked with his own cock just a few centimeters away from you. One day he may wake you up by fucking you and when he finishes, he will leave his cock buried in you for the whole day, using it to prevent his precious semen from dripping out of your beautiful pussy.
He releases a lot, but that LOT of cum, he will fill you with a good load and you will feel how he drips all day from inside you (Unless his cock is being used as a plug so that doesn't happen) When he cums in your throat you always have to swallow little by little to avoid choking, and believe me, When you start swallowing you think you're never going to finish
He loves to brand you, he has to proclaim you as his own, so he'll leave hickeys along your neck and collarbone, in plain sight for anyone. Apart from bites and hickeys he loves to spank you, he loves to see your cute red and burning butt, full of marks on the palm of his hand due to his spanking. Obviously, because of his love of eating you, you'll have red thighs thanks to his face paint; but Buggy won't let you clean them, what's more, he'll let you wear a short skirt that day so that everyone can see the marks of his makeup on your cute thighs
I think it's a bit Voyeur, I mean he loves shows, especially if it's about you! I can see him sneaking into the room you're in and every time he catches you masturbating he falls silent as he watches you, feeling his cock harden under his pants at the sight. He will also ask you to voluntarily masturbate in front of him more than once, standing in front of you in a chair while his eyes do not leave your body and his hands separate from him to caress your soft skin
He curses a lot during sex, while he's fucking you hard against any surface near you he'll be whispering all kinds of lustful things like "My little slut… Always pleasing me so well." "I adore this greedy little pussy you have, so tight and always sucking me so hard" "Fuck, you love to please your captain, isn't that my sweet little slut?" "Look how your pussy drips because of me, so adorable..".
During kissing I feel like he's drooling a lot, you always fill each other with saliva during a nice hot make-out session, having your lips moist as well as your chins while half of Buggy's lip makeup has smudged and smudged your whole face
If at any point while he is eating strips of his hair he goes completely wild, he will attack your pussy mercilessly and rip you out of you at least more than 4 orgasms in a row, all in order to get you to pull his hair again
He loves to overstimulate you, loves to see how you turn into a small babbling mass between his hands and how you can't think about anything other than him or his cock. Love to see your thighs trembling and filled with both fluids mixed together, your clever little mouth nothing but meowing and moaning as you spew incoherently and drool
This man has to have at least a slight kink towards the knife set. He will always ask you beforehand if you are okay with it and will put a word of security; But he'll love being able to run the cold steel of his daggers across your soft skin, past your stiff nipples until delicately fiddling with your. It will leave some scratches, not very deep, only small marks, unless you ask it to be harder, in that case it will create small cuts and if it has the opportunity it will make its initial on your soft skin with the help of its dagger

Hazbin Hotel episode 5 is a rushed mess.
May just make this a continual thing where I review the episodes from here on out.
-Right off the bat, the pacing for this episode is probably the worst out of all other episodes so far. Things just begin abruptly (Lucifer's first song with Al for instance), no build up, 5 months have passed in only 5 episodes of barely any progress or focus on Charlie as a character, a random character that didn't need to be introduced but was anyway ruined the flow further, and this stupid ass rivalry all on the basis of who's the "better dad" is legit the most random conflict of any conflict so far. That will get a point all on its own along with some of the other things mentioned. The pacing left no real breathing room aside from 2 moments: Al's rise to power and Husk n Al's convo. I wanna say the second song would be a 3rd but it just resolves an issue that was present for seemingly years and pulled a "Stolas" with having a song or sob story as an excuse for the lack of effort to reach out and be a better dad. Lazy writing and pacing overall.
-5 months....5 months have passed with barely anything revolving around helping sinners or trust built around the main cast SHOWN ON SCREEN. We are told important information opposed to witnessing the progress itself. This is not only lazy but extremely jarring cause it feels as though episodes were skipped and bonds feel unearned. They get easily resolved in what feels like seconds, and we're just supposed to....deal with it. Angel and Husk barely interact throughout this episode, which, after the crazy ride they had, with the knowledge of a SEVERAL MONTHS passing by as well, you'd think Angel would be shown to be more chatty with him....which he doesn't. Nothing crazy, just small bits of them interacting and enjoying each other's company. Nah. We get that next episode, and even THAT'S lacking. I'll tackle that in a separate post. But yeah, 5 months, and we have yet to see the other guests' views and how it has changed for the better or the process of them realizing WHY they would go for redemption. How that has affected them. Nothing of note has come about from any of these. No other sinners have joined. No other demons seem interested in Charlie's Hotel. Nothing. We are told things have been done, yet it feels like we are still at the starting line, or well, a foot away from it and miles away from the finish.
- Lucifer is a joke. I don't mind me a goofy threat, it adds a charm to them but also shows that they take so little seriously due to their immense power....not Lucifer. No, that guy just....is a joke. Dude is in his mansion making fucking toy ducks for some reason and just has depression (show said it outright, not even depression is spared from "tell don't show")
He does literally nothing, doesn't seem to WANT to do anything, and no one respects the guy. Nearly all in the Hotel lack fear, intimidation, or admiration for the guy (Pentious is the only one who seems to exhibit admiration of some kind). The closest we got is being uncomfortable. That's it. Then there's his scuffle with Alastor. Tell me why he feels the need to argue with this sucka again? Cause last I checked, Alastor is a mere overlord, and Lucifer is The Devil. Wtf is this randomass rivalry that just...S T A R T S? Why does Lucifer get intimidated or moved by Al? It makes no sense. Lucifer has been alive far longer than humanity itself, but nah this random fuck who looks like he robbed a blood bank got him weeping insecurities? I'm supposed to take this sad excuse of a character seriously? How many of these carbon copy characters will Viv make until I finally end my suffering???
-Wtf is Alastor's deal? Why is he so pressed and annoyed? One moment he is as cool and collected as a cucumber and showing only SLIGHT annoyance (Vox and His song), then he goes to meetings and speaks with people far older, far more experienced, and/or far stronger than he show no interest and he gets pissy? How insecure is he that people not caring where he's gone or thinking his ideas are wack is what leads to his eye twitching and him throwing a random ass cuss. Seriously, THAT'S what got him to swear? That his idea for the hotel's name is stupid? BFFR! You can not be serious right now, THAT'S what gets him going? You'd think with how witty and chill he was in the pilot, he would find a quick and a effective smart-ass comeback, not essentially bitch at The Devil. This makes Alastor look like a thin-skinned wannabe, too cause these minor ass comebacks are why he has lost his edge along with some randomass song number?? And at the end of the day, Al just couldn't be damned anymore to even care by the end of the episode, he doesn't speak with Lucifer or give any stank looks, doesn't speak with Charlie, does NOTHING pertaining to the issues prior, nah, he just stands there and watches after telling Mimzy to go away. Some say he did this to simply piss Lucifer off, but that doesn't make sense (not saying it ain't true, just saying if it is, it's nonsensical). First off, if that were the case, why was he annoyed even BEFORE seeing the guy?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If he only wanted to get a rise, why is HE getting angry? Trolls usually don't care enough to be this pissed. Second, wtf would he even gain from doing this? What to help push Lucifer to be a better father to Charlie, request by Lilith to Al so that Lucifer can get his act together?? If so, that's the LAZIEST shit I have ever heard. Lucifer is such a joke, he needed a SINNER to get him back on track....
Regardless, this whole father shit by Al comes out of nowhere and ruins the goddamn flow of the episode. Prior to it all, Al has shown NO interest in anyone and has done jack shit. Wtf does he even do? He's done ONE thing so far and that was help for the commercial. Alastor has shown to be completely useless as of now.
-Charlie, why is she treated as tho she isn't a grown ass woman? She's babied to hell and back and despite being the daughter of Lucifer, hasn't shown any of her abilities to help the hotel. So Lucifer can summon shit but not her? Is she that useless? Also, gotta love how she never asks her dad about the Valentino situation to help Angel out. Man...what a great ass friend. She also doesn't find it weird that Al is just suddenly...babying her? She has zero awareness of everything, I guess, which is getting annoying now. You're over 200 years of age (went to high school in the 1800s according to what her comic was about, but guess that's retconned based on what happens in the following episode).
So she doesn't use her abilities to tidy up the place, she doesn't act her damn age, she doesn't do anything to help her sexually assaulted friend. What a damn joke, just like her dad.
-Mimzy shouldn't have been in an episode about Lucifer. Plain and simple. Her character should have been introduced in one of the earlier episodes. Not during fucking this. And we got a repeat of the pilot with Alastor's backstory retold. So they're down to retell his rise to power but not to make at least a proper recap of the events that happened prior? Key word....PROPER.
-Husk caring about Mimzy bringing trouble is actually fucking stupid. Because of the lack of proper build up to him now finding more reason to like the Hotel, it feels forced that he would be worried about what danger Mimzy brought. And on top of that, yeah...ALASTOR IS RIGHT THERE. You know who else is there? LUCIFER. I get it, Lucifer stood by and watched as the Hotel was being swatted, but he also sang a song about providing what Charlie asked for, meaning if she had asked her dad, he woukd be down to help, so WHY TF IS HE WORRIED???? Also , is Charlie just INCAPABLE of fighting for herself?? "She doesn'twanna hurt sinners-" so she had no defensive abilities??? What???? Also, that's a damn lie, she fought Katie Killjoy on live Tv. Are no other damn people capable of protecting the Hotel??? Why did Al need to step in for that? They were just LOAN SHARKS.
Anyway, the scene where Husk is probing Alastor about Mimzy and treating him as a pet is decently paced and the tone was pretty neat, sucks that this feels like their way of showing that Husk is also under a leash like Angel rather than him being treated as a joke, which btw...horrid way to compare the two. Wanna know why? One is subjected to an onslaught of sexual assault whether he was pushing Val's buttons or not, and forced to be assaulted by various men around him, passed around like a thing. The other is Husk, who legit disrespected Alastor and had to push at him to get such humiliation and terror, and guess what....Al still ended up pushing Mimzy away after she did end up bringing trouble, so he did essentially listen to Husk in his own distant way. This is the ONLY TIME we see Al be downright mean to Husk and probably the only time. Angel has been subjected to nothing but horrid assault after assault no matter the situation. So I better not see anyone say, "SEE LOOK, THEY'RE BOTH ABUSED" stfu. Nothing about their situations are even remotely similar. Just cause the chains are the same doesn't mean the users are. EDIT: Ima say this before people act like I excuse this. No, I am not excusing Alastor's actions. I am pointing out what happened on screen. Husk mocked Alastor, Alastor retaliated out of anger(much like how Angel retaliated at Husk in ep 4 after Husk kept arguing and mocking him) by pulling out the chains to shut him up. He didn't even hit Husk. Again, I'm not excusing it, just pointing out how vastly different Husk and Angel's situations are and how one overlord reacts compared to the other....who is a straight-up rapist.
-Both the songs are mid/ok but pulled down by the awful storytelling....shame. I at first was not fond of Lucifer's voice.....it's ok now, I guess. Idk. I'm still not really feeling it, though.
Episode sucked ass
Pacing was all over the place
ALASTOR AND LUCIFER ARE PISS BABIES

Stede in Season 1
After seeing some rather awful bad faith takes flying around after 2x7, I'm throwing out a beginning defense of Stede Bonnet (loml). It seems insulting Ed's fish is the worst thing that anyone has ever seen, and it really seems to be a continuation of anti-Stede sentiments within the fandom and viewing him as a prop for Ed (and sometimes Izzy) rather than his own character. Fanon Stede is ever patient, ever kind, ever devoted to his partner, and I'm seeing a lot of shock that Stede is a flawed, imperfect person with his own needs, that he says things in the heat of the moment, that people are seeing a less interesting character than what DJenks and friends have created. Stede's a fucking lunatic and I like it.
Tumblr media
I'm going to break this into a few posts as I ramble on to the end of 2x7. I have big thoughts on the ending, but I need to lead up to it! I am going to try to be as brief as I can up to the lead up, but I'm not happy with certain parts of the fandom right now (it's just a spat, love you all).
(If you haven't seen the "I hate Stede!" and "I'm so mad at Stede!" posts after 2x7, I am so, so jealous of how you have curated your social media experience.)
Part 1: Season 1
I'm going to note first that this is really a more rambly companion piece of this:
In time budgeting, most of Stede's character introduction and motivations are built into 1x1 through 1x3, but you all know it is a common refrain of these episodes: "Just wait for episode 4!" (OK for newbies, but huge side eye from me with people who have watched multiple times.) Episode 4 is when Act 2 of 3 of Season 1 begins. The foundations of the story have been laid, the cast has been fully assembled, and we enter the rising action (i.e., the meat) of the story in 1x4. It is not that Blackbeard alone improved everything: it was the story structure itself that shifted.
Preferring Act 2 (ep 4 to mid ep 8) and saying Act 1 was bad and "boring" is a disservice to the story and really robs yourself of the payoff action in Act 3 of Season 1 (and now Season 2), in particular with regards to Stede's character. It's a TV show, so you don't have to like all parts or watch it equally, but if you're going to criticize Stede and what he does, you can't ignore the part of the story that tells you the why of everything.
For example, we see people saying Prince Ricky is "exactly how Stede used to be!". Episode 3 disagrees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ricky is some Evil Star Trek Mirror Universe version of Stede, and they have fundamental differences in their view of piracy, which feeds into the action of the tail end of Season 2: Stede wants to be part of the piracy world, but Ricky thinks he's above it. The few hours in 2x7 that Stede spends enjoying being cool in the Republic of Pirates is overall sweet (sliding past the murder, lol), not a relationship red flag or Stede being a dick. If you tried to join a group and they finally embraced you, how would you initially act? Being excited for a few hours does not mean Stede has made a forever commitment to piracy and not Ed.
But, I digress. To me, Episode 2 (along with 6, 9, and 10) is far and away the peak of Season 1. We see the crew bonding (and those unique interactions are missing in Season 2's truncated runtime), and we get a deeper look into Stede's head: his initial naivety toward violence, his insecurities, his unique captaincy style and problem solving. If I look at just his insecurities, Badminton's Ghost is Stede talking to himself (like Hornigold was vocalizing Ed's feelings in 2x3). Stede is harsh with himself about his abilities and maturity, and we even see that he took Badminton's petty body shaming in 1x1 to heart.
Tumblr media
(Oh, I have thoughts on Stede finally being told he's pretty and then instantly dumped!)
But he continues to degrade himself.
Tumblr media
"You're a child with a toy" Stede says to himself. Compare this to Ned Low calling him a "bumbling amateur" in 2x6. Real people voicing these thoughts (like Chauncey in 1x9) messes Stede up.
The local therapist clearly lays out the motivation behind 1x9&10, and Stede still continues with the negative self talk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then we get the best mantra!
Tumblr media
Yes, baby! You can only be as good as you can be, and you deserve the world.
Stede does not banish his guilt that is haunting him, but Ed comes in at Episode 4, and any more serious feelings is all about Ed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Second GIF is a joke. I know it's important to Ed's character. Plz, don't be mad.)
Ed is the deuteragonist, and the story now needs to spend time establishing Ed's character and motivations. This doesn't make Stede's go away, but if you only watch Episode 4 and on, that's what it looks like. There are brief moments of Stede's vulnerability and guilt from then, but not much.
Tumblr media
(Side note from a Midwesterner: I've spent too much time finding out if "grain tower" is colloquial for "grain silo" somewhere, and I still don't know.)
Ed and Stede just met here. Ed isn't absorbing much of Stede's comments (Stede also feels trapped, Stede has family guilt, etc), but it goes the other way, too, doesn't it? Stede is recovering from his gut-stab, they're still in a life-or-death situation, and Stede is still feeling his guilt (and just saw more guilt ghost hallucinations). Registering and internalizing what Ed is saying doesn't take priority.
And they enter their cute early relationship phase: They have fun together! They can easily talk to one another! Stede easily forgives Ed wanting to kill him!
Again: in between all the cute and fun, all the heavy stuff is about Ed. Stede deals with the aristocrats who mocks Ed. Stede is gentle with Ed's red fabric. Stede listens to Ed's past without judgment. Stede openly accepts Ed as a friend. We don't see Ed engaging with Stede in a reciprocal manner.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I was so delighted when Stede called some of this out in 2x4.)
Stede is a few steps behind in their relationship: He doesn't know it's a romance. He doesn't know he was flirting with Ed. He's not immediately understanding what the Act of Grace was to Ed (hubby commitment!) as he's having his Nigel guilt, family guilt, and being seconds away from death swamping him all at once.
In the academy, Ed isn't even listening to Stede. He's moved onto his domestic marriage role while Stede is dealing with his demons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With 2x7, I see people saying, "Ed was very clear in wanting to leave piracy!" If he was speaking to someone fully engaged with him, I would agree. (That also doesn't make Stede having a few hours' fun the worst thing ever.)
(Aside of what I see below: In Season 2, I see overwhelming praise of Ed and Izzy's performances and very little on Stede. This is not to disparage TW or CO, but Ed and Izzy are more in-your-face and obvious with what is going on internally in their scenes and they are nailing the drama scenes. However, Stede becomes quieter, shutting down into himself, when having high feelings, and RD's acting is very subtle and very beautiful in these moments.)
In The (First) Kiss scene, Ed is clear! He just wants to be Ed, and Ed is happy just being with Stede.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But look what Ed walked in on:
Tumblr media
Ed is saying things, but Stede is trying to process big feelings of his own at the same time. Stede is there self soothing, still thinking about what Ed ignored him about in the bunks. "How are you handling things so well?" means Stede isn't handling it well. Ed is excited, but he (and apparently some of the audience!) is brushing off all of what Stede is saying while expecting Stede to take to heart everything that Ed is saying. (I mean, the beginning of S2 shows why Ed is so excited for this life change, but it is frustrating!)
If you only feel bad for Ed at the end of 1x9, please try to imagine Stede's perspective: suppose you have low self worth and are consumed with guilt about people you've hurt and then are seconds away from death twice, are you going to be thinking clearly and prioritizing (and recognizing) the feelings of a guy you've known for a few weeks and didn't know you were dating?
Stede has drawn inward this whole conversation. His answers turn monosyllabic, and his body language turns more and more panicy as the heavy reality of everything sets in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stede enjoyed The Kiss, but was this the appropriate time for him? (Like Ed enjoyed The Sex, but was that the appropriate time for him?) They aren't in sync yet, but that doesn't make one party's feelings more valid than the other's or one party evil for being a bit ahead.
With 2x7, I don't know why people thought Stede should be a mind reader and be able to quickly piece together a few statements Ed made while Stede was mentally drowning.
I think it should be noted that as of the end of 2x7, Stede is the only crew member who hasn't had mental reflection and/or therapy in Season 2. He realized Mary, Alma, and Louis didn't need him and he was in love with Ed in 1x10, but the voice calling him a child with a toy, an idiot, weak, and ugly is still there.
Continued in Part 2! (Still to come...)

Love in the Air: The Significance of Security to Sky
This moment folks. I need to talk about it. I already gave it an honourable mention, but I want to dissect why Sky's reaction here spoke volumes - and how the significance of security (aka marriage) is so important as a conclusion to the Prapaisky story.
Tumblr media
When we first meet Sky, he's still wading through the shadow of his abuse. The prolonged aftereffects which could potentially continue for the foreseeable future, affecting his overall happiness and ability to love again.
Now fast forward to this expression we see on Sky's face during the wedding. Despite all the trials and tribulations, despite thinking he might never overcome those demons - I saw in his expression - an echo of the 'young Sky' again. The innocence in his smile. The giddy wholesomeness which is often found in young 'puppy' love. Eagerness and anticipation for things to come. Hopeful excitement which isn't marred or jaded by the toil of hardship. An expression that contained an immense degree of appreciation and relief, a 'thank god you found me' relief. A 'close-to-tears' relief that comes with finally being seen and/or valued. The point is, that expression is very similar to the way he'd looked at Gun before everything that followed.
Tumblr media
That's the expression of a boy who has fully and willingly opened their heart to another. And here it is again. On his wedding day. Sky has somehow managed to restore some of that innocence in love he lost.
Most of Sky's anxieties can be attributed to a lack of safety (such as difficulty with trust, doubt in stability, worry of being taken advantage of, insecurity in his self-worth). This all manifests from a very simple and basic human instinct we all possess - and that is to feel safe. When someone so intimately close to you betrays you in the worst way imaginable, they've effectively stripped any sense of safety away from you by force. This is the state in which Prapai finds Sky in at the start of the series.
Tumblr media
I've talked many times before about how Prapai fulfils a 'protector' role incredibly well. But in fact his way of handling Sky goes beyond protection. He's very adept at creating a safe space around Sky, as well as allowing Sky to feel safe when he's with him. And that's not only by loving Sky, but truly caring for Sky's wellbeing and his basic needs. Whether that's ensuring he eats, making sure he rests, or reminding Sky he doesn't need to suffer alone. This is achieved by listening, by not overstepping, by holding back, by being patient, by being gentle. And eventually escalates to Prapai 'removing' Gun as a threat. The very genesis of Sky's suffering and the very person who robbed Sky of his safety, which Prapai had been working so hard to rebuild.
Safety comes first before all else, due to safety being intrinsically linked to survival. It's only once you've established safety, that you can add security - further measures to 'ensure' this safety lasts as long as possible.
Tumblr media
This is where Prapai's intentions for marrying Sky (other than the most obvious) are really worth considering. By his very character, our boy Prapai famously never half-asses anything. He's all in, all the time. He wants to provide everything humanly possible to the person he loves, and that involves giving Sky the highest form of security he can offer, which is by marrying him. Binding them in name, on paper, as well as on all remaining principles.
For most people, the fine print and diplomacy of marriage is not particularly romantic. But in this case it's exactly the functionality and formality of marriage that will provide Sky with the security Prapai seeks. Prapai possesses privilege. And that privilege allows him access to means he can extend to Sky. So marrying Sky means: 'I will be responsible for you. What's mine is now yours'. 'If anything happens to me, you have everything I have.' 'I now legally have the permission and the right to fully take care of you.'
This isn't essential to Sky. He already has Prapai by his side, which is plenty as far as he's concerned. He doesn't need or desire anything else. But Prapai wants to. Because Prapai is thinking about the future - their future. He is always anticipating what Sky needs or may need before Sky does for himself. Sky's perspective has always been 'you've done enough, this is enough', whereas Prapai's perspective is 'what else can I do?' At first Prapai was just trying to ensure Sky's basic needs were met and now that he's achieved that, what's next? All of this is an attempt to safeguard the person he loves and their future together. It's the devotion in such an act, the restless pursuit of such a cause that means so very much to Sky. Because he knows (as do we) - that Prapai would do anything for him.
And that - that is what we call marriage material folks.

Exploring the Parallels Between Our Favorite (and Only) Conductors
One thing I think is really cool about the Kitaniji and Shiba parallels is how they both idolized the Composers/Higher Plane members they were in contact with but take that idolization into different directions and how these are reflected in Neku and Rindo’s individual flaws.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First we have Kitaniji, who idolized Joshua and put him and his status as Composer on a pedestal, and thus, in an attempt to try and save Shibuya, conducted a plan to try and rob the city of its individuality and make it a hive mind to, in his view, appease the Composer. However, what Kitaniji failed to consider that what HE, as an individual, wanted was counterintuitive to what Joshua truly desired as shown by the rules/structure of the Shibuya Game and his various interactions with Neku throughout their week together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kitaniji acts in a way he presumes would please Joshua, thinking that initiating the human instrumentality project would be the thing to please him most when that's far from the truth, simply because he's unable to look past his ego. He thinks he understands Joshua best, despite not taking the time to actually get to know him (which sounds an awful lot like toxic idol culture) and only ends up projecting his own insecurities about human connection onto Joshua as desires that a god would share as well because hey, why would a god care about empathizing and connecting with people when they’re just so much better than them, right?
He failed to see Joshua for the flawed individual that he was as opposed to the almighty Composer and instead of trying to genuinely connect with him and perhaps convince him otherwise when it came to his plan to eradicate Shibuya, goes right into the brainwashing scheme, essentially doubling down on his flawed mindset. Kitaniji’s idolization makes him believe that he is something akin to a God as well; makes him feel closer to Joshua in a way. In short, Kitaniji’s idol worship is a conscious, agency-prone outcome mediated by the false relationship he has with Joshua.
Tumblr media
Throughout the game, Kitaniji makes conscious (and unhealthy) decisions through his idolization of another person; he also believes he has a measure of personal agency and individuality that makes him more important than others, probably in part due to the "special relationship" he believes he has with Joshua (more idol worship toxicity) despite ironically being an empty individual and misinterpreting his intentions, which is what leads to his downfall. This in contrast to Neku, who due to his past trauma concerning his friend’s death, latches onto his flawed misinterpretation of his idol CAT’s words, only for CAT himself to set the record straight, causing Neku to realize throughout the game how he may have twisted his idol’s (Hanekoma) message to support his bias of isolation, and finally understand what CAT's words meant. This in turn is what allows Neku to finally get through to Joshua and convince him through his actions that Shibuya, and by extension humanity, can truly change for the better and gets him to spare the city. A happy ending that a Shibuya free of individuality wouldn’t have been able to achieve.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In NEO TWEWY, we have Shiba, someone who rises through the ranks of the Reaper hierarchy incredibly quickly and thus, became easy pickings for Kubo to try and manipulate to do his bidding; a man that has obtained so much power that he actually begins to idolize himself, thinking himself so strong and important that now he can whimsically make decisions about life and death, treat every situation as some kind of game, and judge people as he sees fit. Shiba only thinks himself as holding such an important role, which really belongs to Kubo's because of Kubo setting things up in such a way that made it so that Shiba's newfound powers would fuck with his ability to rationalize. Kubo fed into Shiba’s ego and slowly nudged him into the direction of shutting out his loved ones, which then leads into a cycle of Shiba becoming worse and worse thanks to the influence of his powers/Kubo and the Shinjuku gang isolating themselves from him. He becomes convinced that what Kubo wants is what HE desires as well, even if that’s not truly the case deep down, and throws himself more and more into his work to accomplish that, which, of course, only adds onto the cycle I described above more and more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's interesting here is that Shiba doesn’t draw any implicit or explicit motivations from his relationship with Kubo; he’s just another guy to him. We can make the argument that Kubo as a character symbolizes a particular substrate of toxic idolizing in that he represents status, a constituent of success that Shiba clamors for in the hopes that he can idolize himself. However, with that being said, the relationship between Shiba and Kubo itself in the story has no bearing on the former’s personal drive the way Kitaniji’s relationship with Joshua does. Rather, what Shiba’s idolism represents is the corruption of one's sense of self when they fall too deep into the cesspool of influencer stardom/corporate corruption; the overinflation of ego that becomes a malicious byproduct of commanding such an effect over large numbers of people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you remember, Shiba initially started off in Shinjuku promising change and a better lifestyle for his fellow Reapers, which they clearly took to heart and gladly followed after him, speaking volumes about his charisma. But then when he got a taste of his newfound power after the conclusion of the Shinjuku revolt, he became more and more detached from the people and found himself sinking into the singularity of his own self-indulgence.
Tumblr media
This can be considered an almost 1-to-1 parallel with influencer behavior and in a way, Shiba is kind of what Motoi was hoping he'd be before he found some clarity by actually having to look into the face of the fan he was nonchalantly treating as a pawn to stardom and came to realize just how damaging his actions were overall.
Tumblr media
In contrast to Shiba, we have Rindo, who also has the flaw of internalizing someone else’s thoughts and opinions as his own, something that gets repeatedly shown off in his interactions with Swallow and Motoi/an0ther. Hell, it gets to the point that Sumio, Motoi’s second-in-command, is able to play on Rindo’s need for validation from his idol and trick him into helping him (I love how Beat in the last pic here sighs in his sprites because he knows that Rindo fell for it, hook, line, and sinker)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, what truly cements the parallel here is this convo Shiba has with Tsugumi in the Last Day Intervention.
Tumblr media
Shiba here basically flat out admits that he was afraid of having to face the consequences of his decisions. Of having to own up to the fact that his self-destructive actions were causing harm to himself and others and so, in an effort to try and suppress that feeling of insecurity, he saw it fit to run away from the warning signs and trap himself in his own self-isolating bubble in order to avoid taking responsibility.
Now, who does that remind you of?
Tumblr media
Now, at first glance, this comparison might seem like a stretch, but there are a couple of things to keep in mind. First, let's think back on what Nagi said about Shiba at the end of W3D3 after Kanon's erasure.
Tumblr media
When we reflect on what Nagi said, you start to realize that the majority of Shiba's actions throughout the third week was due to his feelings of anger and hurt following what he feels is a personal betrayal from the people he cares about the most and how he then takes out that anger on the people below him. First there's his calling out Shoka personally out of anger of a mix of betraying him and the others by switching to Rindo's group and blaming her for HIS encouraging Ayano to take drastic measures such as personally infecting herself with the Plague in order to try and get Shoka to come back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which then leads into the next day where Shiba, out of anger concerning Ayano's erasure, sends out more Plague Noise to target the remaining teams so that they can feel the grief he's currently going through, which ends with Kanon, the Twisters' most supportive ally, getting caught in the crossfire and subsequently erased, which Nagi's analysis on Shiba alludes to when she comments on his wrathful energy in the morning announcment.
Tumblr media
Combine this with him sending out Plague Noise that take on phantom images of the Twisters' failures and traumas and him getting so pissed at Susukichi betraying him in a previous timeline on W3D6 that he causes the Inversion a day earlier than intended and you get the sense that Shiba is lashing out at the others for what he views to be their fault, while never reflecting on his own fault on the matter due to a combination of the Dissonance affecting him so deeply and his refusal to see just how much he's hurting the people he cares about the most.
Tumblr media
Much like how Rindo tends to lash out at others whenever he feels pressured to make a decision or face the possibility of having to take responsibility of his actions, Shiba's actions can be considered an example of what can happen if that flaw was taken to its worst possible conclusion. Both Rindo and Shiba are afraid of having to face the consequences of their actions and try to avoid facing them by either pawning off responsibility off of someone else or just outright tuning out the warning signs altogether. They put the people around them at arm's lengths, often taking them for granted, and become paranoid around others out of fear what will happen to them if they get too close. However, Rindo eventually starts becoming more savvy to his idol’s intentions and actively seeks out the truth about him, resulting in him breaking away from Motoi’s influence and slowly becoming more assured in himself and his decisions. He becomes more aware of his friends' struggles and will often try to do right by them (as shown with his talks with Shoka and the contrast between his and Fret's conversations at the beginning and end of the game). This is shown off in two ways, with Rindo and Shiba's confrontation at the end of W2D7 and W3D7 being flipped to have Rindo and Shiba trading places to show who’s on top, Shiba utterly alone in contrast to Rindo being surrounded by others, the Wicked Twisters dominating the screen while Shiba can only shrink back in defeat and Shiba being invisible in the Crossing (despite being surrounded by all those people) while Rindo is literally embedded in an ever-expanding Social Network.
Tumblr media
By the end, Rindo actively takes accountability for his actions and achieves the happy ending he strives for, even helping with bringing Shiba back to his senses. Shiba on the other hand, once his influential power gets to his heart, begins to devalue the significance of the wants, needs, and individuality of the people who followed him fervently, and it's not until he gets his ass kicked and then is forced to face his number one fan/the person he cares about most, Hishima (another parallel with Rindo and Motoi), does he come to terms with how his actions have affected people he cares about, and is able to break out of his own self-idolizing and begin his path towards reformation, taking responsibility for his actions much in the same way that Rindo himself does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To recap, Kitaniji becomes convinced that what he’s doing is what JOSHUA wants while Shiba becomes convinced that what KUBO wants is what he actually desires when that’s really not the case and I find these parallels to be incredibly fascinating. Kitaniji and Shiba are considered to be the ideal of what a Reaper should be in their respective cities and what's especially interesting is how while the values each game tries to instill does have merit when applied to our lives, they also show off the downsides of what those values can have if you're not especially careful.
On one end, you have Kitaniji, who is the "ideal" of a Shibuya Reaper. Highly unique and imaginative, has a very strong sense of self and sense of identity. Is an individualist but is also very isolated as a result. Tellingly, when Joshua starts to force his hand and basically tells him to come up with a way to save the city or get fucked, Kitaniji starts going down a dark path and tries to rob the citizens of Shibuya of their individuality in order to save the city from becoming destroyed, unknowingly increasing its countdown to its inevitable destruction and became twisted into a raving madman that insists that he’s saving humanity and is shepherding them into a new ideal utopia.
By contrast, when you take a look at the flashbacks and how the others speak about him before he got his new powers, Shiba is shown an be incredibly charismatic individual and this goes hand in hand with his role as the most powerful of the Shinjuku Reapers. His leadership and connections are his strength. He’s a social butterfly (his Noise powers and pendant are themed for a reason) and is considered the ideal of a Shinjuku Reaper. However, thanks to his new powers getting to his head, he’s pushed away all of his remaining allies and now has just about no one but himself, the emotional isolation being incredibly damaging to both himself and the people he cares about .Susukichi, Rindo, and Neku even talk about this, speculating about how he must be lonely and how his new powers most likely contributed to this.
Both TWEWY games can be read as a cautionary tale of idolism; of influencer status; of becoming so disillusioned that you either close yourself off to others or deem yourself so important that other people matter far less. Last but not least, they emphasize the importance of being accountable for one's own self, especially in a society of influencers because at the end of the day, it's important that you believe in your own views and can uphold them responsibly; it's important to not blindly follow others, especially if your self-worth hinges on it and ESPECIALLY if they become like Shiba or Kitaniji.

I just found some Hazbin Hotel leaks, pre-being pick up by A24 and, do you know we could have had an episode where Charlie meets all the Deadly Sins? We were absolutely robbed of a pretty good filler episodes before the big finale with heaven.
Here's link to the leaks: https://imgur.com/a/nCorcZq
In case the link doesn't work, you can also look at this tumblr post: https://www.tumblr.com/hellaverse-critical-confessions/727383242254204928/hello-the-pre-a24-leaks-anon-again-heres-link?source=share
I really hope they use some of this old concepts on the next season cause they seem quite funny and interesting. Those ideas could help flush the characters out a bit more and the worldbuilding. What do you think?
Me writing notes while reading the leaks:
Tumblr media
OOOH HOO WE GOT SOME WONDERFUL CHARACTER INSIGHTS! Especially with Husk!
“Angel and Charlie drag Husk out to a carnival show to show him the not-so-sleazy side of life. This proves difficult with Husk being raised to know nothing but crime and no experience with innocent fun.”
Husk has no experience with innocent fun. He only knows the sleazy side of life T.T Also he has mob connections 👀That is good to know. I find that so, so interesting. It explains it grim outlook on life. Why he's hardly every smiling or having fun. I think one of the first times we actually see him smile is after fighting those shark demons with Angel Dust in "Masquerade."
Now that I'm thinking about it, he smiles a lot more after that. Or, at least from what I remember. I might need to rewatch the show (for the dozenth time, LMAO). But, that kind also goes to show how much this guy needs friends. Good relationships. Connections outside of crime, which is all he's known all his life.
I WANT HUSK TO HAVE PURE, DUMB FUN AND TO LAUGH AND SMILE AND IM SOBBING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT
Also love delving more into Vaggie too. How she's incredible responsible, but controlling. After reading through a few of the episode description about her, my personal headcanon/take is that she still has a bit of that "angels are superior" mindset in the way that when she challenges Maxine, she's quickly reminded of her own limits when she's defeated "very easily." It's like what Carmilla was saying in the show. The angels are arrogant in their fighting. They leave themselves open, they're brash, and uncoordinated because they're not used to fighting demons who can actually fight back.
As far as we've seen, all of their victims are regular demons. None of the Overlords. Well, except Carmilla that one time, and she'd taken down the Exorcists with relative ease because she knows how to fight, and she's powerful. Given that this is the first time an Exorcist has been killed, and the first time we hear about an Overlord being attacked during the Extermination, I assume not a lot of Exorcists come face to face with the Overlords.
So, this kind of brash arrogance still lingering in Vaggie, who see's a demon talking down to her and automatically challenges them to a fight, only to lose immediately. Then her falling back into her insecurities that if she's not able to protect/fight for something/someone, than she's useless (which is ANOTHER thing she's learned from her time as an Exorcist angel--if she's unable to fight for the cause, what use does she have?). It's like this double-edged sword, and I'm rahhhhhh I'm gnawing on it.
ALSO ALSO, getting not only one annual event held in Hell, but TWO! "Hells Weapons Exo," (which I like to think Vox co-hosts with Carmilla, as she is a weapons manufacturer, and Vox is the guy to go to if you're looking to sell/buy something. Also, Vox HAS to have a showmanship side of him. Like, a legitimate showy, entertainer side--which I also like to think is what brought him and Alastor together before their, uh, falling out.)
Their second event being "Challenge Day" where lower tiered demons can challenge higher tiered demons for control over souls? I interpreted this in two ways, 1) challenging a higher tiered demon for the souls they already own, or 2) challenging the person who owns your soul as a way to get it back - both of which I really like. It actually fits really well with some of the world-building I've been doing for the last few days, so I am eating it up.
ALSO THE FACT THAT THERE'S A ROYAL BALL HELD AFTER "CHALLENGE DAY." My RadioApple brain LATCHED onto that so quickly. Imagine Lucifer taking Alastor to the royal ball as his date T.T I wanna see them all dressed up fancy, and I want them to dance, and dsofslknjljblkjbj FUUUUUUCK
Thank you SO Much for sending me this! I am soaking up these lore pieces like a sponge.
It also mentions Angel and Charlie taking Husk to a carnival show, which makes me wonder if there are places like carnivals open in Pentagram City, or if it's similar to the traveling circus thing Blitz grew up in. Like, do hellborn demons who doing travelling circus/carnivals just go through all the rings, one-by-one, including the Pride Ring? That way the Sinners get to get in on it too? AH! I just love thinking about it.
Thank you thank you I am feasting so much right now.
(THIS ALSO MAKES ME SO UPSET ABOUT STUDIOS LIMITING SERIES DOWN TO 8-10 EPISODES A SEASON, WE COULD'VE GOTTEN SO MUCH CONTENT AND WORLD BUILDING IF THEY'D GIVEN VIVZIE AND HER TEAM A PROPER SEASON TO BUILD IT ALL UP AND GRRRRRRRR)
Oh, also, I just realized I didn't answer your original question about the Sins, GOD I wish we got that. I want to see Charlie interacting with all the Sins so badly. Though, I suppose with Amazon not really owning Hazbin Hotel, where all the Sin's have been showing up, I wonder if they'd be able to do an episode like at all.
I don't know. Things to think about.
But to sum up! Thank you so much for this! I know this answer kind of went on long LOL, but you have given me so much brain food and I am eternally grateful 🙏

Daryl and I had know each other for quite a fair few years. After the battle of the Commonwealth, Daryl and I decided to go looking for Rick and Michonne. However, we got fucked over by another fucked up group of people and ended up in the water. I lost track of the days, I have no clue how long we have both been in the water. I felt a slapping against my cheeks, groaning and rolled to my side as woke up to find Daryl hovering by my side.
After Daryl helped me up, I glanced around, knowing that we were not in America anymore. It was a matter of finding out where we were and what to do.
“Guess we aren’t in Kansas anymore.” Daryl shot me a look, I stuck my tongue out and gave a smile, sometimes it honestly felt like the best that I could to do.
“Can’t believe that after all this time you are quoting movies.”
“What can I say? It’s what you love about me.” God I wish it were true
After realising we were are in France; Daryl and I began searching for supplies to keep ourselves going for the night. Daryl found an French to English book to help with translations. After a little while longer, these two assholes screwed us over, tried robbing us after we killed two other men that tried attacking all of us.
A group of nuns brought us in, treated Daryl’s acid burn from the walkers, which I’m glad was treated. Then came Isabelle, I hate to say that it’s been 12 years since the world turned to shit and I still get jealous feelings. Isabelle was too close to Daryl, maybe she hadn’t had a nice man in her life for a while but her beauty and her pretty smile made me feel insecure of my own looks and inability to tell Daryl how I feel made me feel shittier than when I realised I’m going to die before the world is fixed.
All respect to the nuns; I understand why they did what they did but at the same time, after seeing it go wrong a thousand other times. Keeping a walker alive as a message or just the emotional trauma of losing that loved one is obviously horrible to go through but as soon as we realised that the father was a walker we left as soon as we could only to return and take Laurent, honestly a sweet little boy to safety.
Daryl and Isabelle were walking ahead, I stayed behind, kicking my feet in the dirt like an upset little kid and carried on as I drowned in my own feelings.
“What’s going on with you?” Daryl questioned, I glanced up, placed on one of my award winning smiles and shook my head.
“I’m all good. Honestly, I just want to get back to America.” Daryl nodded believing what I said, turning back to the front and it allowed me to wallow in my emotions again. I loved Daryl, he’s a good man, even if he doesn’t think he is a good man, he is a good man and I wish that he knew that more often.
Isabelle is gorgeous, more so than compared to me. I mean, I’ve got rolls, even during this shitstorm I’ve got all these skin problems still and I clearly have no confidence in my appearance, even if it doesn’t matter now. I thought the end of the world would mean less problems when it came to appearance and self esteem. But noooo, it still means the same shit goes through my mind like it did when I was dating in college.
I mean, I can handle the shitty groups that survive off of anarchy. I can handle them, because just a couple of hits to the head and boom not a problem anymore. But my insecurities, they kill me and I hate that I am not strong enough to deal with problems that shouldn’t matter anymore. Staring at what used to be a preschool made me want to cry, the place is being run by children and I wish that these children didn’t have to go through this horrible stuff and could be children in a decently safe world where they didn’t have to deal with no familiarity of what we grew up with.
“Hey, that teacher needs some medicine, want to come with?” I nodded, glad to finally be getting that one on one time with Daryl again. Walking in the silence became uncomfortable and noticing that Daryl was hanging out with Isabelle a lot I want getting curious to know about where he stood with her.
“So, Daryl… what’s going on with you and Isabelle?” Daryl shot me a look, as if I really just asked him about something that sounds so childish and like a teenager experience.
“There’s nothing going on between her and I. I’m just finding out what I can from her that can help us get back home… why?” There it was, that one little question that I wish wasn’t a word. I shrugged slightly, cringing internally as I realised my capabilities to hide my true emotions decided not to work today.
“No reason.” Fuck my voice is giving me away, all nervous and defensive. Daryl stopped in my tracks, he grabbed my arm, getting me to stop in my tracks. I couldn’t meet his eyes, I insecurely wrapped my arms around my body to cocoon into myself as I always did when I was feeling insecure.
“Don’t give me that crap. What’s going on?” I tried one more time, hoping that Daryl would give it a reason and not think to ask about it again. That was just wishful thinking.
“Please, just forget it!” I snapped, Daryl took a step back, shaking his head and grabbed ahold of both my arms gently. I took a shaky breathy, shaking my head and sniffled.
“What is going on?”
“I’m in love with you! Okay?” Daryl looked surprised by my outburst, I pushed myself out of his arms and began pacing around the tree covered area we were in.
“Me! Fat little me, I’m in love with you! And I know you won’t say it back because I know you don’t love me back because I am nowhere near as attractive as the girls I know you’d be with if the world was still normal.” I shook my head, keeping my eyes focused on the ground as my tears fell from eyes and I didn’t want Daryl to see me like this.
“I’m overweight, I’m ugly, I’ve got rolls and eczema. I’m an insecure little girl who hasn’t changed since high school. My acne scars make me look like I’m a fucking walker. I am ugly and I am not worth anyone’s love, not even in this world because I don’t have that kind of beauty. I am no pretty nor worth anyone’s love and I-“ Daryl grabbed my face in his hands, his lips being placed upon mine and I know it sounds incredibly cliche but it really felt like the world literally stop. Why was Daryl kissing me? I mean I was kissing him back and holy shit it was one of the greatest kisses I’ve ever experienced and I did not want it to stop. I honestly forgot the world we currently lived in is the way that it is but having Daryl actually kissing me until I needed to pull away for air made me feel like I was in a world of a book that I would’ve loved to read in the before.
“I love you. I love you more than I can even begin to say. I ain’t good with words. But you gotta stop talking down about yourself. You are gorgeous, you are exactly as you should be and I love you. I find you incredibly gorgeous and you have a heart of gold. You are not what that stupid little insecure voice inside your head says that you are. You understand me?” I nodded, smiling as he grinned at me and rested a kiss on my forehead.
After leaving the preschool, Laurent was angry with Isabelle and wouldn’t get in the carriage that we acquired. It was honestly a very useful invention that made life so much easier. I decided to get out of the carriage to talk to the kid and figure out a way to get him in the carriage.
“Listen Laurent. I understand that you’re upset and not feeling the greatest in regards to that you feel Isabelle is lying to and I won’t lie to you. Not about something like this. The reason why you need to go with us is that you could be the cure to helping understand a cure for these walkers. But I promise to you I will not allow you to be hurt, I will protect and you so will the rest of us. I will protect you until my very last breath, you’re one of us and we won’t let you get hurt. I promise you and if you feel that I break your promise then you can do whatever you want if it means you feel safe.”
“I look up to you. You’re… you’re this badass lady that knows how to fight and is a good person because you won’t let bad things happen. You are also very pretty.” I turned to see Daryl watching with a smile, he winked at me and nodded softly as I got Laurent into the carriage finally.
Daryl took my hand as I squeezed in beside him, resting a final kiss on my cheek before offering his shoulder for me to sleep on.

A Big Misunderstanding
Shitty angst where you think Law leaves you for another woman. I barely write angst so I hope this is readable lol… happy ending btw
Warnings: angst w good ending, mentions of anxiety and cheating, fem reader
Tumblr media
The island was clearly the type of island pirates would come to for parties, raids, and whatever other mischievous things that were typical for pirates. It was tropical, so clearly very warm upon arrival.
You decided to be modest with your clothing. A cute top in your favorite color, some jean shorts, your favorite pair of shoes, and whatever other accessories you thought would go with the outfit. But when you entered the bar, it became apparent that you’d dressed conservatively somehow…
Many women from other crews were present, many of which had their unique style, but one thing they all had in common was that they were dressed as though this bar was meant for other purposes… or maybe it was just the weather. Perhaps even both.
Many of your crewmates ran off to get drinks and socialize, but you were hit with a sudden wave of insecurity. But why? There was no reason to be; you knew Law was the most loyal man on the seas, that he had no interest for those type of things…
“You alright?” his deep voice rang beside your ear, and you felt his tattooed hand land on your back.
“Y-yeah,” you answered unconfidently.
“I don’t think you’re fully being honest,” Law frowned, “but… I won’t bother you here.”
You nodded, but Law didn’t seem to think you fully understood. “If you need to get back to the sub, just tell me, no questions asked.”
“Okay,” you breathed.
His hand slipped away from your back as he started to stride over to the counter, ordering drinks. When Law noticed you hadn’t followed, he looked back at you and nodded for you to come over.
You sat on the stool to his right, adjusting your shirt constantly like something was wrong with it. But in reality, you simply felt inferior to all the women around you. You weren’t normally bothered by things like that, but tonight it was an overwhelming feeling that you couldn’t make go away.
You hadn’t even noticed that Law had ordered a drink for you until it sat before you. Bringing it toward your lips, you took a few small sips and quietly thanked him.
The next few moments were silent between you and your boyfriend. But your mind was quite the opposite, as many intrusive thoughts flooded through your head. How could he not see those other girls when they’re practically surrounding us? And the ones from the street whom called out to him; he had looked at them… but never told them off. Maybe he was simply keeping an eye out for suspicious behavior? But what if-
“y/n-ya,” his hushed voice echoed within your left ear, and you could feel his warm breath from how close he was now. “Are you certain you don’t want to leave?”
“W-why,” you stuttered out, breaking away from your thoughts.
“You seem out of it,” he observed.
“No, I’m fine, actually.” You huffed, taking another sip from your drink. Great, now you sounded cold and upset all because of your stupid thoughts.
Law decided to just leave the discussion there, moving back so that he wasn’t leaning close to you. His tattooed fingers drummed against his bottle with a steady rhythm. Now he seemed annoyed…
“Captain!”
You and Law both turned to see Shachi and Penguin behind you, looking rather excited.
“What?”
“Do you mind if we go somewhere else…?” Penguin asked, Shachi snickering as he spoke.
“Why would I care?” Law deadpanned, but there was a hint of confusion in his tone.
“Well… it’s just that there’s this club…” Shachi started explaining.
Law rolled his eyes, starting to understand. “And what kind of club is this?”
“Oh, you know…” they continued snickering, “a girl’s one…”
Another eye roll from Law. “Whatever. Just don’t bring any strangers back on the sub or get yourself robbed.”
Well, he at least doesn’t sound interested…
“Thanks captain! By the way… you’re free to join us,” they suggested, wiggling their eyebrows as if you weren’t sitting right there.
Law’s eyes widened a bit, and he glanced at you before looking back at the two of them. “Why would I-”
“Just joking!” They cackled with laughter as they ran out of the bar.
Now you just felt worse. Why would they invite Law when they and the entire crew knew of your relationship with him? Did they know something you didn’t?
Why did he glance at me like that?
And just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, a girl had the audacity to approach your boyfriend when you were sitting right there. Was the tattoo you’d gotten for him somehow not noticable?!
“Hi,” she greeted him with a smile that you knew was an act. “What’s the infamous captain of the Heart Pirates doing here, in this nasty little town?”
“Are we not allowed to be here?” he sarcastically asked, not looking her in the eye.
She giggled, leaning onto the bar counter right within his line of sight. “I was just curious… didn’t take you to be the type of man to come to places like this.”
“Like what? This is a pirate’s bar, is it not?” Law sounded a bit annoyed now.
“Ah, I see. You don’t know about the place out back, then.”
She pushed herself off of the counter, giving Law’s hat a teasing flick with her finger. “If you’re curious, meet me there, captain…”
You’d stared with anger at the whole interaction, practically gasping in shock when she’d touched his hat. Especially when Law had done nothing to stop her.
Now you felt even worse, as though you were about to have a breakdown. Feeling tears well up in your eyes, you hopped off the stool and turned to find the bathroom.
“Where are you going, y/n-ya?”
“Restroom,” you stoically answered, running off before you cried in front of everyone.
After locking yourself in a stall, it was impossible to hold it all back now. You began to recall more things that just made this trip even more suspicious. Law hadn’t even said why you were stopping here, ignoring the crew’s questions about it. Then you remembered a conversation you had somewhat overheard. Law had been in his office late at night, so you were bringing him some food as he hadn’t shown up for dinner.
You couldn’t quite make out what he was saying, but you did remember the words “I’ll be there.”
When you’d opened the door, his snail phone was sitting out on his desk, and it was shutting off right then. You’d asked Law who he was talking to so late at night, but he’d brushed it off as “some business that I’ll be taking care of soon”. That was only two days ago.
You knew it was a bad idea to come up with conclusions and overthink, but you couldn’t help it. Had Law brought you all here so he could meet up with someone?
Maybe it was just a simple business deal. Right? You always over thought these things, and you knew it was best to not let your anxiety get the best of you. So you wiped your tears and fixed yourself up, heading out of the bathroom to question Law about this mission.
But that was when everything went wrong.
Law was no longer at the bar you’d both been sitting at moments before. You quickly glanced around, searching the busy room for his familiar white hat. It was impossible to miss.
And then you did spot him. Exiting the bar, glancing behind himself, following another woman.
Your heart shattered right there and then. You slapped a hand over your mouth to stop yourself from screaming in agony, your entire body quivering with what you didn’t know was anger or heartbreak. Perhaps both.
You wanted to collapse to the ground and cry, but you couldn’t, you were frozen now. And before you could think of what to do next, you felt something on your shoulder.
Turning around you found none other than Bepo, who seemed entirely oblivious to what your captain had just done.
“Hey, y/n! Captain said you were taking too long in the bathroom, and he had some deal to take care of. So he left me to watch for you!” the bear cheerfully informed you.
“Oh, did he…?” your throat went dry and you could barely get the words out. You were simply in shock.
“Yup. Hey… you don’t look so good,” Bepo tilted his head in confusion, “Captain did say you seemed off… are you sick?”
All you could do was nod, not wanting to tell the poor polar bear the truth.
“I’ll take you back to the sub then!” he offered, and again, you nodded.
Back aboard the Polar Tang, you waited until Bepo left before grabbing what you needed and returning to the bedroom you’d shared with Ikkaku before you and Law got serious.
Finally being alone, you allowed yourself to collapse into the small bed, screaming into your pillow that you’d taken with you. Why would Law do this? Of all the men you knew of, you never once thought he’d be the one to cheat.
But the reason why didn’t matter now. He’d already committed the act, breaking the deep bond you thought you had with him. Years of you devoting yourself, your love, to him down the drain.
That night, you cried yourself to sleep, only waking up once when Ikkaku had been shocked that someone else was in her room. She’d tried talking to you, but you could only shake your head ‘no’ before passing out again.
The next day was even worse. The entire crew knew something was wrong between you and the captain. It had been years since you’d slept separately, and you’d only made things more obvious by dodging their questions and promptly leaving the room whenever Law would walk in.
For the most part, you stayed cooped up in the room you supposed you now shared with Ikkaku again. She never protested, and even tried comforting you a few times. But truly, you felt as though you were inconsolable. The thought of even leaving the crew crossed your mind.
You simply didn’t know what to do. You were afraid to face Law, even if it was just to declare your departure and then you’d never have to see him again.
Later that evening, there was a knock at the door. You expected it to be your now-roommate, but she never came through the door. You never had to go open it for her, so it must’ve been someone else. You didn’t want to see anyone else, though.
“Y/n-ya?”
You heard Law call to you through the door. His voice was hoarse; he sounded exhausted and defeated. While you knew deep down he only sounded like this when he was truly upset to the point of crying, you didn’t want to think about that, as it would only make you feel worse.
“Y/n-ya, please come out,” he pleaded through the door.
You’d decided to ignore him. Rather, that was your plan until he was suddenly inside the bedroom, having used his devil fruit to teleport himself inside.
“Go away,” you snapped, turning away from him.
“Not until you tell me what this is all about,” he spoke, trying to sound calm.
“What do you think it’s about?! You know what you did,” you spat, turning to glare at him with hatred you’d never felt before.
“I don't know,” he sighed, defeatedly. “I left to go through with the business deal, and had Bepo watch out for you. Then next thing I know, I get back and your things are gone from our room.”
“That’s what you call it? A fucking business deal?”
“What do you mean, y/n? It was a dangerous deal for some rare charts, I don't understand-”
“Don’t lie to me! You went away with another woman, you cheating bastard!” You screamed, throwing yourself into your hands to cry into them.
Law was quiet for a moment. “y/n-ya… I would… I’d rather die than do that to you,” he spoke honestly.
From his tone, it sounded so truthful and you wanted to believe him. But you were too heartbroken.
“Then why would you do it?” You asked, voice trembling as you cried.
“You don’t understand,” he reasoned, “I didn’t. That woman was some sketchy pirate who had charts to somewhere that would be incredibly helpful for us in the long-run. That island we went to last night is an incredibly dangerous one, so I didn’t want to risk you getting caught up in a bad deal.”
“Why though? You could’ve just told me…”
“I wanted to, but you seemed upset and then you ran off to the bathroom…”
You sighed, peeking out from your fingers before lowering your hands and fully facing Law. “You fucking sacred me, Law. I was even considering leaving-”
“Don’t,” Law cut you off, pulling you into his warm embrace. “I don’t want to even think about losing you…”
“Sorry,” you mumbled, holding onto him tightly.
“I’m sorry,” he corrected you, “I didn’t think about the plan coming off as that… I’m a fucking idiot for that. I should’ve trusted that you would’ve stayed out of danger.”
But then you giggled, just barely. “Oh please, we both know I’d be following you to make sure you don’t die. I guess you thought right, then. But still.”
“Yeah… I swear I’d never betray you like that, y/n-ya. I… love you,” he whispered. “More than anything…”
You smiled into his neck, “I trust you, Law.”
“You’re coming back to our room then, right? I couldn’t sleep without you.”
“Of course I am, idiot,” you kissed him with a grin. “And I can tell…”
“Oi, watch it.”

What I'm expecting for Hazbin Hotel Season 2 (ALSO, SPOILERS and if you haven't seen the whole Season 1, now's the good time to leave and watch it for yourself)
Tumblr media
I'm sorry but I think Viv should be fired. From what I've seen in terms of her actions and proof I needed, She's an incompetent writer and a bully. To make matters worse, she's a controversial figure due to her behavior. I'm not saying the series should be cancelled or anything, I was thinking it should be handled better by new writers to take over so that the story and characters don't feel rushed or phone in which is why I'll be talking about what I'm expecting from Season 2. Here are my thoughts. I wish that in Season 2, Charlie figures out that Lucifer is hiding something from her since Lucifer (in the actual bible) is known for being prideful of himself and plays this UwU soft boy facade just to not have her find out the real truth about him and Lilith. It might be a bit retconned with Lucifer's character, but making Lucifer still be who he REALLY is would be better IMO. Maybe the reason being that Lilith's in Heaven (for some reason) is because she made a deal with Adam that if she's gonna be in Heaven, she needs to ditch her family. The tragic backstory for Lilith could be that (and her backstory is based on the bible) she regrets robbing children, raping men in their sleep including Adam out of revenge and wants to get into Heaven to escape from her crimes. Adam still didn't forgive her miseeds and would never be with her since he's misogynistic now before he died, but wants her to obey. Now realizing her dad's a fake, Charlie leaves him. Lucifer tries to fight her and then Charlie manages to run away but still in pain. But Lucifer is now resentful towards his own daughter. He'll be making his comeback in Season 3 and is the main villian. Since Vaggie's too insecure into showing her soft side, Charlie wants to break up with her since they have no chemistry so Vaggie would do anything to try and understand Charlie so that they can be in love again so she'll try not to not always protecting Charlie all the time since she can take care of herself unless if she really needs her. As for Angel, maybe Husk and Angel will develop even more if they go on a heist since Angel grew up being a gangster and also since Angel is confident on himself, he tries to fight with Valentino to make him pay for using him, with Husk's help of course. Nifty would learn not to kill people all the time by Charlie so that she can control herself. Cherri Bomb has a flaw where she tries to act all tough and mighty when really she's scared of what people think of her since she's been abused by bullies and then Angel helped her since he's been taken advantage of by Valentino and then that's when Angel for the first time made out with a girl which might break Pentious' heart. Despite Husk not being grumpy all the time, he still has a gambling problem and tries not to get in to it but then Angel snaps him out of it because he doesn't want him to risk his own life again due to him being Alastor's pet, so Husk goes up against AL and tries to break out of the curse, if only Alastor gambles with him in order to be free for him and that if he loses, he stays with him forever. With Sir Pentious, despite being in heaven, he misses Cherri Bomb. He enjoys himself but feels lonely so the Egg Boys cheer him up and then Pentious decides to just be friends with her instead Now with Lute wanting revenge, she'll have a change of ways when she has been exposed to learn who Adam truly is when she learns that Adam's son Cain went to Hell which is because Cain killed Abel out of revenge and Cain is what Adam favors except for Abel because he is a "Soft pussy" in his eyes. Adam likes Cain because he's just like him. Lute apologizes for her acts, cries, and hugged Charlie for making her see the error of her ways and then that's when God comes in and sends Lute to Hell for her misdeeds and she'll be back to Heaven if she can redeem herself. As for Charlie and her friends, they get redeemed by God. Alastor doesn't go to Heaven because of his sins and Alastor likes being a fucked up type of guy and likes being sadistic. Criticisms are allowed if needed. ^^

Radio Silent (Uni AU P. 10)
tw - mentions of abuse, themes of anxiety, general insecurity
The night fizzles out the way you expect it to, disappearing without a word to your friends in the diner, letting your new, yet reluctant friend, drive you home. You'd simply deal with Shadowheart when she got back to the dorm.
Just as Astarion said, he's gone the next morning, but the two of you text quite often. He finds it easier to talk to you through pixels on a screen, where he can pretend like you're not this very real person who knows far too much about him. On the plane ride to LA, he doesn't sleep, which isn't odd for him. Instead, he thinks about the past couple of days and how you've wriggled your way into his life, into his head. Instead of trying to put his feelings into tangible sentences, he makes a playlist while waiting the hours away and catches up on some much-needed reading.
Thursday comes around, and the group is pissed at him, as you expected them to be.
"Damnit, he's the reason we picked my lunch break to do this during anyways! You think he'd at least stick to plans like a reasonable individual."
"Gale, it's not like he chose to go on a spur-of-the-moment trip to California. It's a work thing, not in his control."
You almost sound a little angry when the words come out, knowing that he's probably going through some hell that all your friends don't know about. Gale picks up on this sentiment, and leaves the conversation at that, mumbling something about how they'll all just update him on the project details later. Indeed, you all talk in the group chat with him about plans for the upcoming assignment, which he sporadically responds to. Although, he always responds to your texts, even if he ignores the group chat. Astarion argues with himself about it in his head, trying to reason with himself, saying things like 'it's just because the group chat is overwhelming.' For how good of a liar he is, he's not good at lying to himself.
Friday morning, he goes radio silent, which you're not concerned by at first. He's busy, probably busier than you've ever been in your life. Yet, he had made time to text you since Monday night. It starts to worry you when Saturday and Sunday both pass with nothing new. You hold yourself back from asking if everything's alright, knowing if something is stressing him out it's probably better to just let him deal with it and get back to you. And yet, you don't talk to him until he's back, and you're not even the first one to hear that he's back on campus.
"Oh yeah, I saw him in the elevator earlier. Tried being nice like you said, I even waved! You should be proud. Doesn't seem like he appreciated it though."
Shadow rolls her eyes, almost covered by her bangs that she desperately needs to trim. You're not sure exactly why, but you rush to his dorm room, knocking frantically. It's Monday night, which is surprising. You could've sworn he said he'd be back Tuesday morning, but maybe you misremembered. The door creaks open.
"Oh, hello Tav."
Astarion's eyes are weary, which you chalk up to not being able to sleep on the plane.
"Hello? You haven't texted me since Thursday, what the hell? I thought you like died or something."
"Nope, not dead, very much alive. Got wrapped up in some work affairs over the weekend, fashion people can be quite dramatic. Either way, I apologize. I'm still quite new to the 'having a genuine friend' thing."
"Well, how's your arm?"
He scoffs.
"It's... it's fine. Weird to have someone ask."
At this point, he's opened the door and let you in. You're welcomed to a sight of half un-packed luggage and a stack of leather binded books on the coffee table.
"Holy shit Astarion, did you rob a bookstore while you were in California?"
"Nope, all from the library. Missing out on a week of school when you're a senior here comes with its disadvantages. For example, I have had no time to work on my thesis essay, and I've barely even unpacked from the trip itself. Although, I did snag this."
He takes out a garment bag that has been carefully finessed to fit in his suitcase without wrinkling whatever is hidden inside. His fingers nimbly move to unzip the bag, revealing a white faux fur coat.
"Now, do I wear too much white? Absolutely, but passing up on this? I could never."
You almost feel bad, not knowing anything about clothes or what makes them cool, but to your credit, you know it's a nice coat. He slips it on, happy with his latest thievery.
"Well, what do you think? Is it stunning, or is it stunning?"
In that moment, while you're about to make some quip like 'go look for yourself, you realize he has no mirrors in the dorm, not even in the bathroom that you've only ever caught a glance of.
"I would say look for yourself, but you don't have any mirrors. That's shocking."
"Well, I had the one in the bathroom removed. Guess I'm just not particularly a fan of reflections."
"How come?"
He stares at a detail on the sleeve of the coat.
"You get tired of seeing your face after a while."
"Well, I think it looks fabulous, and so do you."
"Wish I felt just as fabulous."
He lets out a small laugh, shrugging his way out of the blinding fabric. There's something left unsaid in the air, you can feel it as he goes to hang up his new treasure.
"What really happened this weekend?"
Astarion tenses, almost dropping the hanger he so delicately placed the jacket on.
"I... I'd rather not say. I know I told you a lot the other night, but there are truly some things best left as skeletons in the closet. Maybe in time, but not today. I can't today."
"That's okay. I was just worried, that's all."
"Funny, I'm so used to people prying all the time. It's pleasant, getting to have secrets when I talk to you."
He comes back out into the living room.
"Would you like to stay for a while? You don't have to help unpack or anything, just be here."
"Sure, as long as you don't mind. And I would gladly help you unpack. Besides, you have a master thesis to get back to."
"I suppose I do. Thanks, I won't forget this."
"What, like you need to trade some favor back or something? Because that's not necessary."
"You're too nice for your own good."
The pale man puts some soft R&B on, and the two of you go ahead and start putting all his things away. Although, he doesn't let you handle any of his nice clothes. You learn that the hard way when he bats your hand away from a pair of very expensive jeans.
"They're just jeans, I promise I won't taint them!"
"Yes, they are just jeans, but they're also 800-dollar jeans, and I am not risking it."
You continue to ask him about various articles of clothing, what shoots he took them from. He remembers every single one. Although, he does skip out on some details, brushing past parts of his tales without a second thought. You don't mind though, knowing it's probably just things he isn't ready to talk about. At some point you become distracted by the stack of books on the nearby table, and start looking at all the titles. They're all related to ethics, morality, or philosophy in some way, but particularly focused on the psychology of abusers and the abused.
"I thought you weren't a philosophy person?"
Astarion's voice almost makes you jump, taking you out of reading the back of one of the books.
"Is this what you're doing your thesis on?"
"I mean I'd like to, but I'm still not sure. Feel as though the head of the department will be surprised when I present it to him."
"How come?"
"Because I've always made my projects, lifeless, I guess. I've always written and studied by the book, never touched on emotional topics. Just don't want people asking questions."
"So, what specifically are you going to look into?"
"The philosophy of abusers, how power imbalances change our moral codes, that kind of thing."
You lightly place the book back in the stack.
"I think you should do it. If anyone asks, just say you were curious about it."
"That's true, I am known to be quite curious. Now, are you going to help me with the rest of this, or have you given up?"
The night passes by too fast for his liking, as the two of you talk while he prepares for the week ahead. It's past midnight when you finally check your phone, seeing that you've received a couple of cheeky messages about your absence from Shadow.
"Is it late already?"
Astarion checks him phone as well.
"Perhaps it's time for you to go get some sleep darling. After all, not everyone is as extreme of an insomniac as I am."
"Yeah, I guess I should probably get back. Happy you're back though, and that you're okay."
Without really thinking about it, you go for a side hug, and make your way to the door.
"See you tomorrow?"
"Sure. See you tomorrow Tav."
And his smile is warmer than normal, knowing there's something to look forward to after a torturous night of barely any sleep. Maybe opening up to a single soul isn't so bad after all.

Heathers Part 4: Rogue Heather and Conclusion
Part 3
This is my favourite option, which is why I saved it for last. This route focuses on skills Heather could much more believably pick up on her own—in fact, these are skills we already see her exhibiting in RoB. This version of Heather is very much like Arya Stark—minus the combat training—specifically, Arya when she’s in Braavos. She’s good at hiding, sneaking around, pickpocketing, etc. She would rely on changing her behaviour and appearance to fit the situation and slowly build her arsenal of disguises as she improves her skill and has more resources at her disposal. One day, she might appear as a raggedy street urchin; the next, a bawdy barmaid; then, a haughty noblewoman or cunning hunter.
Her primary use of this skill would be survival—blending into the background or standing out without people knowing her true identity—but this would also be strategic. She could get information either from being a fly on the wall no one considers being cautious around, or by being charismatic and charming people into trusting her. In more extreme situations, she could slip poison into the drink of a bar patron, set fire to the room of someone who thinks she’s their servant, or (in a version of RTTE with a more mature rating) stab someone once they’re in her bed. (I’ve written a fic about this)
I think this option makes the most sense, because it requires no retconning of her backstory and includes the most believable skillset for someone without any training. I also think that with a heavy focus on stealth, it wouldn’t make sense for her to have a large, armoured dragon with reflective scales (once again, sorry Windshear). Instead she could have a small dragon that could help her with fetching things, being on watch for danger, and shooting fire at close range. I’m thinking a Terrible Terror or something similar. Although a small dragon with similar traits to a Changewing would be really cool, like a winged chameleon of sorts—but maybe instead of becoming invisible, it just mimics different colours and textures.
In terms of costumes for Rogue Heather, it can really be anything. She’d probably need a base outfit for when she’s not in disguise, in which case, I’d go for something like the redesigns all the dragon riders except Hiccup got, which was basically putting them in the same clothes as in RoB/DoB but with different colours. I think the outfit Heather’s wearing in RoB is pretty good for a rogue type character already—just use a slightly different colour scheme that’s still faded, and keep the hood from her current design. Her disguises could be much more dramatic and could include wigs and makeup as well.
I have a headcanon that she has a favourite disguise though. Due to all the danger and insecurity she’s faced, she’s become ruthlessly ambitious—not just for revenge, but for wealth and power. She never wants to have to worry about being unsafe or scrounging around to survive. I think her favourite roles to play are rich and powerful women. In these roles, she gets to wear something beautiful—I’m thinking a deep green gown that brings out her eyes. It could also be a reference to serpents and envy, which goes hand in hand with her use of poison and her desire for the finer things in life.
I love this version of Heather. I’m currently in the early stages of writing a very long fic (that will probably just include regular Heather because the story already has a lot of OCs and moving parts), however, if I get enough inspiration, I might write some one-shots here and there about her.
Some ideas for her more fancy/aspirational disguises:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From left to right: Labyrinth (2012), BBC’s Merlin (I always thought Katie McGrath would be a great grown-up Heather)
Tumblr media
(Some more historical Norse looks)
And a more everyday look:
Tumblr media
(From Voriagh)...tell me this model isn't LITERALLY HEATHER. I think it's the murder in her eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Arya in Game of Thrones, tunics from Dark Knight Armoury)
Conclusion...After a Note About Combat and Women in Fantasy
Before I finish, I want to briefly touch upon another issue I have with Heather’s character. You may have noticed that the latter two options I gave have a much stronger emphasis on her intelligence and/or social skills than her physical prowess – I did this intentionally because I find that RTTE lacks characters who are not combat focused (Even Johann turned out to be a skilled knife-thrower. I miss when he was just a friendly and knowledgable—though talkative—merchant). While I appreciate that the female characters in the show are shown to be capable fighters, they don’t all need to be. I think fantasy and sci-fi writers tend to forget that making women into combatants is not the only way to make them strong, empowered, or interesting. There are so many ways that characters, regardless of gender, can have agency and be integral to a plot; these ways don’t have to include putting a heavy weapon in their hands. I’ve briefly discussed this in another post, but I think the dynamic between Viggo and Ryker would be much more interesting if Viggo were not physically strong and had to depend on Ryker’s strength just as much as Ryker depended on Viggo’s wits. And while Hiccup’s sword fighting abilities are commendable, let’s not forget that his first great achievement would never have been possible without curiosity, intelligence and empathy—the three things required to befriend Toothless—not physical strength. I love Race to the Edge, and I understand the combat-heavy focus (because “Vikings”) but I do wish there was just a bit more variety when it comes to the way characters navigate dangerous situations.
Alright, so there you have it: My 3 Heathers. I’m very tempted to draw all three of them, to get a clearer image of what their designs would look like. Which one do you prefer the most? The revenge-fuelled warrior, the unhinged alchemist, or the ambitious assassin? Let me know, and thanks for reading!

These two excellent ILITW metas by @spacetravels really got me thinking about the 'Everyone Plays Together' scene in regards to Noah and MC. Regardless whether everyone else survives or dies, it is between them to take the place of the monster, in Jane's stead. Because, while everyone else was traumatized from what happened when they were kids, they were more-so stuck in their grief for Jane, the person they both loved so much, and their failure to have protected her. And by the end, they're the only ones who aren't to push past their respective traumas and insecurities. In the 'Everyone survives' ending, while everyone else is able to defend themselves and confront Jane when she taunts them about their insecurities, MC instead breaks down apologizing and never actually stands up for themselves.

(sorry for the shitty quality of the last one, I forgot to take my own screenshot and had to use a different one)
And Noah continues to blame himself for everything that had happened, instead of accepting that he was just an innocent kid who had no way of knowing what Redfield was capable and of stopping him from killing Jane. That he was not at fault for what had happened.
Noah and Devon's trauma and insecurities overlap (having been unable to save Jane when they felt they were the ones responsible for her protection) but manifest in different ways. MC feels like they need to save everyone, even at their own expense (like during the scene where they confronted Redfield, knowing that they could've died).
Tumblr media
While Noah blames himself and falls into self-hatred and depression, being unable and not allowing himself to move on.
Tumblr media
In the end, only one of them is able to be saved. Like everyone else, they're both tested by Jane, to see if they are able to overcome their trauma or if they succumb to it.
Noah is put under Jane's control, which symbolizes how his entire life, Jane's death has had a hold over him. His lack of a support system and his mother constantly blaming him has led him to centre his entire self over what happened back then. If his nerve is high enough, he's able to break her hold over him. If not, he succumbs to her influence over him and kills MC.
If Noah is able to break through, their fates are in MC's hands, which is MC's test. It's established that MC has a saviour complex, stemming from their past inability to have protected Jane. That's why it's MC's choice, not Noah's, of who sacrifices themselves.
Tumblr media
Should MC choose to let Noah take Jane's place, it shows they're putting themselves first for once, and breaking their cycle of trying to save everyone. But if they choose to save Jane themselves/give Noah another chance on their own expense, while it was a selfless move, stemming from their love for Jane and want to save Noah, it was one that showed they had yet to overcome their guilt (and now would no longer be able to) and still felt like saving others were their responsibility.
That's what makes this final choice so interesting because neither choices are wrong or right. Would it be better for MC to let Noah make up for his last mistake and die content after a life of loneliness and self-hatred, being stuck in his grief about Jane to never have amounted into anything else? Or if they sacrifice themselves, letting Noah a chance of redemption and recovery while also robbing him the one thing that would've allowed him to finally feel at peace? And what about themselves? Is it better to be selfless and putting others in front of themselves like they've always done? Is it selflessness when Noah didn't even want MC to sacrifice themselves? And would it be fair to themselves?
There's no better or worse choice. It's just whatever choice MC chooses and the both of them have to live with it.
(another thing worth noting is how whoever out of MC and Noah do survive are shown in ILB/ILW to still be stuck on their past, but now in regards to each other and their past choices (MC letting Noah sacrifice himself/not saving him that day or Noah's actions leading to MC being put in a position where they choose to sacrifice themselves) with MC obsessing over trying to save Noah or Noah trying to bring MC back and undo his mistake but that's a post for another day)

i am going to go into depth about Jeremy and Michael's friendship solely based on one exchange from two player game so I am sorry.
SO. the line is question is the "you know that you are my favorite person, but that doesn't mean that I can't still dream." "is it really true I'm your favorite person?" "yeah, we're never not gonna be a team."
we'll start with jeremy first. michaels his favorite person. he's also, pretty canonically, his ONLY person. jeremy has no other friends. his dad is emotionally distant, his mother is physically distant. he has no siblings. Michael is the only person who talks to him in any friendly way. it's not intentional, but the isolation from other people can definitely lead to a person assuming that they're very close, even when it's not entirely the case.
Jeremy follows this reassurance up with a let down. the way he phrases it is interesting too. he doesn't just want other friends, he dreams about it. it's part of his subconscious. it's also something that michael definitely doesn't want to hear- otherwise, why would Jeremy phrase it like that? "I love you BUT I want more."
to derail from this for a little bit, I want to look at what has been established about their relationship so far. the things Michael mentions are things they BOTH like, and things that (other than the video games) are things that Jeremy has not mentioned previously. it's not a far stretch to imply that Jeremy likes movies (implications of joe pesci and rob deniro) but that isn't mentioned. jeremy never mentions liking roller skating, or his tattoo, and he keeps himself covered. Michael has, seemingly, supportive parents. (he also, as seen later, has other people he plays video games with, the world of Warcraft guy. which implies that video games aren't as sacred to him, but games are a whole separate lore idea I could make a separate post about tbh. but the point is he has other friends.) he's confident and loud and doesn't care about the bullying, because it doesn't affect him. he's proud of being a loser. and that pride blinds him a little to Jeremy's struggles with fitting in and caring about what others think of him.
which leads into Michaels response. "is it really true I'm your favorite person?" Michael ignores the "but" of jeremys statement. he ignores the fact that Jeremy dreams of more, latching onto what he knows. Jeremy cares about him, and that's enough for him. he's been brushing off Jeremy's insecurities, whether intentionally or not, for most of the show up to this point. he only really focuses on what he wants to hear. that Jeremy likes him, that he's the favorite, that he's the one who matters most. which is understandable. taking on the emotional baggage of realizing that your best friend wants more than just you is difficult for a teenager, but brushing it off at every opportunity is damaging.
which is why Jeremy goes along with it. "we're never not gonna be a team." he'll be the one to reassure Michael about the stability of their friendship. he's also, notably, not giving up on his dream, or implying that HE is Michaels favorite. his self esteem is too low at this point to admit that Michael needs him, specifically. because what he needs (or thinks he does) is to break away, but he still wants that safety to return to. he wants the team, the friendship, the favorite person.
but he is going to dream anyways. he's been dreaming his whole life- that's apparent in more than survive. placing himself in movies, in video games, making up rules and structure and scenarios in his mind. michael represents the one thing that can break through that dream, but he can never make it quite go away.

Wrong On The Money (48)
part 48 of ?? | 1013 words | Teen+
Blackmail fic on Ao3 | on tumblr
Summary:
“I have to tell her,” Steve groans, rubbing his hands over his face and slumping onto the couch next to Eddie. “I can’t keep this up.”
We're nearing the end and I'm slowing down on posting because I'm still working on it, but y'all can have some fidgety Eddie and an insecure Steve Harrington as a treat.
48.
“So what’s the deal, Steve?” Robin huffs the next day. “You and Eddie totally blew us off last night, what the hell was up with that?”
“It’s not like you watched it alone,” Steve points out. He’s trying to pretend that bustling a stack of returned tapes back to their correct places on the shelves of Family Video is too important a task to look away from, unprepared to meet her gaze. “You had Nancy and Jonathan and . . . that sweater guy.”
It feels as though as soon as she looks him in the eye she’s gonna know he asked Eddie if he could be Eddie’s boyfriend, and Eddie said yes. But he’s not sure if they’re telling people, because they haven’t gotten around to talking about that part yet. Kind of got distracted by . . . other things.
“Argyle.” Robin rolls her eyes, despairing. “That sweater guy, unbelievable. You should know his name by now.”
“Robs. You know we end up smoking any time we hang out with that guy. I ask every time, and then I just forget it again because I’m all high!”
Eventually Steve manages to turn the conversation in enough circles that Robin loses the original thread. She’ll pick it up again, but at least he’s bought himself some time.
-
“I have to tell her,” Steve groans, rubbing his hands over his face and slumping onto the couch next to Eddie. “I can’t keep this up.”
“I can’t believe you haven’t yet,” Eddie admits. He’s still wide-eyed and strangely fidgety from the revelation. “Because, yeah, obviously she’s a force to be reckoned with, I’m kind of worried about my chances of survival, but . . . it’s you and Robin. You two share a brain.”
Steve groans into his hands. “God, I know. I mean . . . she knows I like you. That’s most of it, right? I told her nothing was ever going to happen, but—”
“Nothing?” Eddie interrupts, zeroing in on the word. “Why not?”
He peeks at Eddie—at his boyfriend—through his fingers. “Uh, because I didn’t think you liked me?”
And he can feel his face warming under his palms as he says it, so he’ll keep his hands right where they are, thanks. At best he was being stupid and at worst he’ll turn out to be somehow right, neither of which sound good. Not that this is helping. . . . Trying to pussy out of being honest with his best friend isn’t a good look. (His dad would say that it’s pussying out to feel obligated to be honest about the relationship in the first place. Even to owe them the truth, because ‘you don’t come out on top by owing, Steven.’)
Eddie’s mouth forms a few different, interesting shapes, starting with O and morphing into something that shows off his dimples. “Of course I like you. You’re you, what’s not to like? Wheeler must’ve been crazy to let you get away.”
It’s nice to hear. Still, Steve notices, he’s chewing on his bottom lip like there’s something serious on his mind. Fuck, is Eddie about to break up with him after one measly day? Because that would be so—
“Jeff knows,” Eddie blurts out.
And that. Is. So far from what Steve was expecting that his hands drop to his lap and he goes still, even stops breathing for a second. They’re sitting close enough that their sides touch; Eddie must feel the way he freezes, because he starts babbling to fill the sudden vacuum in the conversation.
“He figured out something was up about a month after I started blackmailing you, and he asked, and I just—I cracked, man, I—”
“Eddie.” Steve turns to him, tugging on the far side of his denim vest. (Not the one Eddie had thrown at him in the Upsides Down. That one is still tucked into the back of Steve’s closet, too embarrassed to give it back because no amount of cleaning seems able to work the bloodstains out.) “Eddie, breathe, okay? Give me a second.”
Eddie settles, relaxing a tiny bit when Steve keeps their sides pressed together on the couch. In the following lull, Steve thinks hard.
Does it bother him that Eddie told Jeff?
He’s surprised, but that’s because he’d known from the start that he couldn’t tell Robin. She would’ve been pissed off and protective on his behalf, and she would’ve tried to talk him out of giving Eddie money. What would have happened to Wayne then? No, telling Robin had never been an option. The only other person Steve could possibly confide in was Dustin, and that was also an absolute no-go for a lot of reasons. Dustin looked up to Eddie, still does, and Steve hadn’t wanted to fuck with that.
Jeff, despite the insider knowledge, hasn’t given him any shit. He’s actually seemed to give Steve a fairer shake than the rest of Eddie’s friends, going out of his way to interact with him in the D&D game. That takes a lot of the sting out of the surprise.
“Does Wayne know too?” he asks finally.
Eddie groans and pulls a handful of hair across his face. “Yes. I told him everything when I was still drugged up at the hospital. The supernatural shit too, but . . . everything. Jesus, did he say something to you?”
“Kind of. He said I should let you keep apologizing.” Thinking back, a small smile pulls at Steve’s mouth. “And he called me son.”
That gets Eddie to peek out at him, and Steve doesn’t know what the look on his face means—lips slightly parted, a light flush spreading across both cheeks, tilting toward him with big brown eyes open wide and sparkling with something warm—but he likes it. Wants to figure out exactly what caused it and keep doing that forever. For now, he shifts to his side and pulls Eddie in for a kiss. From the way Eddie's lips stay curved under his, it seems to do the trick.
His internal jury is still out on whether he deserves all this, but he’ll do everything in his power to keep it.
