Super cute of Dean to give permission to an angel and a demon to possess his younger brother. Then, instead of apologizing, he began talking about how much people are hurt when they are around him.

Super adorable how he didn’t even let Sam get his frustrations out or even really talk the situation through. Super sweet how he immediately turned the situation around to be a Dean moment.

scrubbing through some earlier episodes to see if I could get better references for dean's face for poll options for next painting, ended up rewatching some of the more emotional scenes and hrm. I went back to the church scene in s8e23 and I've struggled repeatedly having any sort of emotional reaction to it when in theory it should be romantic catnip for me but a couple things I think I narrowed down

I just wasn't feeling jensen. sam is ripping his soul out and laying it bare and I don't know what jackles was thinking or going for but it's too calm to me? he's intense but for someone who historically cries a fair bit in emotional scenes, he just wasn't going there like I think he has in the past? and jared really was and maybe part of it was that contrast? might smash together some clips so I can see them side by side.

the other thing is the music is not very forward and I think it's also not helping drive any sort of reaction. I need a tag for all the times I lament the score on this show, it could have been so much better (in my opinion) with a better score

puts a bee in my bonnet that I can't appreciate that scene as much as I think I should? so I wanna figure it out :S (plus I kind of... feel disconnected emotionally from the show in general now in the thick of s10 of my first time watch. and it really bums me out. maybe I can fix my reaction with data and logic!! 🤪🥴)

“I’m surprised the poor one-night stand you knocked up was such a high priority on your goodbye parade.”

“The kid’s not mine.” That was Dean’s only response, uttered through a clenched jaw.

“Good,” Bela said, a hint of viciousness amidst the open relief in her voice.

“I get along with kids just fine,” he said, defensive.

“Oh, I’m sure you do. With random kids you never have to see again after you’ve saved their lives. But parenting?” Bela grinned, sharp. “You’d fuck that kid up so spectacularly.”

Dean spoke with an idle tone betrayed by the momentary spark of pure hatred in his gaze. “Who’s projecting now?”
