I can't wait to do a corn maze with the kids, pick pumpkins and drink hot apple cider with my friends. I love the crisp air mixed with warm sun on my skin. I appreciate how colourful the Fall season is- with its deep purples, greens and blood burgundy at the holiday or the yellow, orange and red as the trees shed leaves.... It reminds us of how beautiful it can be to let the dead things go, doesn't it? I'm enjoying the renewed sense of peace and hope for the future I now have here in Alberta, after letting my own dead things go... I have a few options and connections that I must really determine whether or not they serve me and my goals for higher vibrations, a better future and a whole self. The change thus far though has been as sudden and welcome in my life as the changing of the seasons... I am starting to breathe much easier, sleep better and align with my higher purpose and passions. Sometimes distance and time truly can heal wounds. I am waiting for a lot, though nearly all beyond my control and I do so contentedly. I am happy.... And I don't know the last time I was able to say that with utter confidence. My littlest turned 5 yesterday!!! 🤯 (Question for you at the bottom!!!) We celebrated with a trip to @outside_the_box_baking_co to grab the desired cupcakes (they're not standard cake fans and two want to be bakers themselves when they grow up, one specializing in cupcakes in particular 😝) and we let the #birthdaygirl choose her selection. We had lunch all together, each choosing our own meals, and spent some time shopping for some compensatory presents from those that didn't make it or even call on her special day. 😤 All good- Mamas #gotthis 💚. We then went to the @cineplexmovies and saw @freeguymovie - which was a fun one for kids and adults alike. Then we stopped at the #photobooth (our tradition) to commemorate the fun and then the Bears headed back to our den for the night. Coming home, we had #dessert and more present opening before Birthday "Bubby" ended up sacking out in her #partydress right after she brushed her teeth 😝. We had SO much fun yesterday and I'm still feeling #thankful that we get to make these memories together. My great grandmother was strong, proud and dignified which can't be said for so many nowadays- she was even more of a gem as a result. She had great laugh and terrible jellybean candy 😆 and reserved the most of both for all of us, her many great grandchildren. We lost her yesterday, with her mind still as sharp as ever but her heart failing in the end. I was hoping she would see 100, or a 6th generation in our family as my first born crowned her with a 5th....but she lived well and loved many. Rest easy Grandma Lockhurst. Thank you for providing the family home for congregation on holidays, for providing consistent guidance and support throughout the tree and to even its' many non-bio extensions, for giving my father his strong will that he passed onto me, for knitting, for crochet, for sliding me the family recipe for nuts and bolts when you kept that locked tight 😝 and for teaching me how to make bread roses with my girls. It's a stoney start thanks to my friends at @molson_hill_reserve who surprised me with a beautiful bundle of goodies. Some of the nicest bud can be found on rez or from Indigenous growers and the dispensary experience differs greatly from OCS. It's much more connected and interactive, with the ability to smell and properly view flower before purchase. I do prefer it, if I'm honest, and think we have a great deal to learn from those that were here before us to make an ideal industry. Or country. This bud is grown with such care and, as a result, I was incredibly pleased to be sent this package to peruse. It states that, "The knowledge was carefully passed down by our Elders Since the late 1800s. We are Proud Of Our Land, Our Rivers, our Mountains and their Bounties." I've been sampling their bounties too 😝. This one comes in the form of Pink Death- which I've been enjoying immensely, straight from first crack of the bag and the pungent earthiness that pervaded the whole room! The nugs were dense and beautifully cured, with a snap to the stem but a perfect moisture content retained in the leaf. Molson Hill keeps it frosty 🔥 and I was pleased with the trichome coverage :) This particular cultivar is usually higher in THC levels but this one boasts a 27% on the bag. I can smoke quite a bit without real impact on my day-to-day but this one's not a bud for heavy use. I find it to be more sedating than many I've come across recently and I notice wandering thoughts, or more difficulty keeping on task. This is a fantastic bud for pain management and for snuggling up on #rainydays. Ideally, I would have some of this Death Pink on a covered porch, with hot chocolate, a book, a big blanket and a lounger to curl up on as I listen to the rain. It's likely a good afternoon nap-inducer, or an excellent relaxation tool on highly stressful days.
