People often say to me: “You draw like some kind of inhuman machine.  If I eat your brain, will I gain your power?”  The answer is yes, but there is another way. The key to precise drawing is building up muscle memory so that your arm/hand/fingers do the things you want them to do when you want them to do them.  Teaching yourself to draw a straight line or to make sweet curves is just a matter of practice and there are some exercises you can do to help improve. If you’re going to be doodling in class or during meetings anyway, why not put that time to good use?

Hey remember when US and Russia was all like “We’re the best!!! We’ve won the space race!!!!” But India sent a kick-ass space probe to Mars and the whole mission was fuel efficient, costed less and a roaring success in the first try and then they were like “…..wait no that can’t be true” and still have the audacity to call us “underdeveloped” or only view us as a ‘third world country’? :)

I can't take back four, almost five, years of finding comfort in him, interacting with that community, and listening to his music (and finding a Hell of a lot of comfort in that), but I can and will support Shelby all the way.

The thing I've never understood about the idea of adapting Avatar: The Last Airbender into a live-action TV show is that the idea inherently self-contradictory.

Animated properties get adapted into live action because the entertainment industry doesn't respect the medium of animation. They'll mine it for ideas, sure, but the whole idea with live-action adaptations is the veneer of prestige. Making the property more "respectable".

And as a parallel, most animation to live action adaptation is also TV to Film adaptation. Because TV has also been held to be less prestigious than Film by the entertainment industry. It's only in the past decade or so has TV earned a reputation for prestige in itself.

So adapting Avatar from animated series to live-action film makes sense in the language of Hollywood. The two changes in medium are a bump upwards in their eyes. "We made these changes because there has to be changes made from TV to Film."

But adapting Avatar from animated series to live-action series rings much more hollow.

Because to justify the adaptation, they're praising the original show, while at the same time the only reason the adaptation exists is because they're denigrating the show for being animation.

They're speaking out of both sides of their mouth.

On this Valentine’s Day I would like to talk about that I was so aromantic I didn’t realise people had actual crushes on celebrities. Like they felt in love with them. Rick Riordan constantly trashing the movies for not sticking to his books then releasing a show in which he rewrites everything and loses the spirit of the books entirely

#I really like the show as it is #but I do mourn the loss of those details #it’s well written and I think it has its own humor #but it focuses a little too much on the tragedy and unfairness of it all #and building up to the final reveal #which fair enough yk #none of these kids deserve to be in the position they’re in #and *the* final scene needed to carry through four more seasons #but sometimes you need a pink poodle #or a guardian of the underworld complaining about his clothes and his boss #or to take revege on your pathetic stepfather by flooding his store with calls
