saw someone on instagram say “you shouldn’t post your art until it’s good” and that comment filled me with rage so i want to say to every beginner artist or artist who feels their art is not improving no matter how long they’ve been at it. i love you and i love your art and everything you post bears part of you and that is so beautiful. block everyone who says otherwise they are not entitled to freely consume what they rag on.

I have a little theory about Clark and Jimmy from my adventures with Superman:
Tumblr media
This:
Tumblr media
The two of them are gamers. When their not working or when Jimmy's not busy with flame bird or Clark being Superman they like to kick back with a nice video game
Jimmy's favorite games are mystery but also games that involve extraterrestrials or any game that looks fun a few of which I think are his favorites: Mario Bros, fire emblem and smash bros.
For clark he really enjoys games that are about helping others but also animal games and although he won't admit it fighting games examples: Pokemon, digimon and animal crossing.
I'm also doing lois because I think the more she hangs around with them the more she'll get invested with a few games herself. And although she might not show it directly she secretly a gamer herself but has a lot of work so she doesn't have the time. But when Lois dose have time her favorite games are competitive shooters and other sorts of action games: overwatch, call of duty and persona series.

Another tip for writers: try not to be so disparaging to your own work. I see so many posts where people are like "my story is garbage" and "I know it's bad, but . . ."
You can be a cheerleader for your writing while still being humble.
Honestly, and I don't even mean this rudely, but my first response to posts like "my writing is bad" is generally "okay, I believe you. I won't read it then."

Might write a MAWS fic where Lois Lane was actually a Kryptonian and Clark is ACTUALLY a normal man living a normal life.

I watched "Batman Begins" last night with my boyfriend, and I have two takeaways that helped inspire the direction of my writing process.
1. The world-building of Gotham City. Often when I (and probably most other people) think of "world-building," I think of high-fantasy settings. But world-building applies to urban worlds too. As a writer, I don't have to stop at "this takes place in a city." I can breathe LIFE into the city and make it a character of its own, too.
2. Dark set-ups are engaging. This might just be a personal one for me, but lately, it seems like every attempt at a "chapter 1" has become so dark. And I thought, "If the tone is too serious, will it be boring?" In "Batman Begins," we see how Bruce's parents are murdered in an alley, how he struggles with the idea of "justice" vs. "revenge," how Bruce mingles with criminals and adjusts to their harsh life. It's a very dark introduction, and it is still so very intriguing. It's not doom-and-gloom for the sake of being doom-and-gloom. It encourages the audience to ask HOW and WHY these circumstances exist, and what can be done to solve them as the story plays out.

✨ Writing slowly does not make your a bad writer.
✨ Needing to do a lot of editing on your writing does not make you a bad writer.
✨ People expressing dislike of the themes and ideas in your writing does not make you a bad writer.
✨ Writing about ideas that have been written about before does not make you a bad writer.
✨ It's okay to take it slow. It's okay to need to edit a lot. It's okay if some people don't like your themes or ideas. It's okay if your work is not completely "original"-- no one's is.
✨ Don't let yourself or other people discourage you from writing.
✨ Don't give up on your writing!

I FINALLY, ACTUALLY finished a 1500 word scene for my story. It gave me a chance to feel out the characters and the premise that I'm working with -- a "pilot" if you will. It's no masterpiece, but honestly, I'm just proud that I could get it done before the end of the year. It's been so long since I completed writing something I am actually passionate about. I might even share it here soon, who knows?

Do you ever start writing something that you’re excited about and that seems like it’s turning out well and that you’re getting eager to share, and then you start typing it up or doing an edit pass and it’s just awful it’s awful its premise is fundamentally flawed and it’s out of character and the prose is clunky and the plot is badly paced and ludicrous and the whole thing is embarrassing, how could you have done this, how could you have sunk so much time into this, you can’t even look at it, how is this that shining thing you were so excited about, how could you even have considered finishing it let alone sharing it with anyone, you’re crying, your mother is crying, nuns are spontaneously exploding in the streets,

I just watched "Superman: Red Son." It was alright. It felt a little rushed though, and I'm finding it difficult to discern the message in the end. However, the premise of Superman raised in Cold War Era Russia is really cool, and I feel like so much more can be done with it!

I just created a wordpress blog and aaaa there's too much commitment to identity. Does that make sense? Like I created the domain name and suddenly got hit with this dread, like a new parent realizing, "this is who you're gonna be, now."

I hate that he's....JUST purple.
Like that's it.
He's purple.
His mom's a blue praying mantis alien and his dad's a jacked humanoid.
And him?
He's A PURPLE BABY.
Bug + human = grape apparently????
CAN AN AMAZING ARTIST PLEASE BLESS US WITH A BETTER CHARACTER DESIGN.
Like I kinda want him to die because of it if I'm being honest. He has bad character design so he must die, your honor.
And THIS is the one Nolan doesn't beat half to death????? THAT HE WANTS HIS OTHER CHILD TO RISK HIS LIFE PROTECTING?
Hell, even Mark looks more related to this grape child's mom when he's in his suit, with the goggles and the blue.

"I can always start again. Make another kid."
Tumblr media
Seemingly, the only reason that Omni-Man "made a kid" in the first place - to bring another powerful Viltrumite into the universe, and then conquer said universe.
Tumblr media
Now Nolan has "made another kid," one that is an abomination to the Viltrumite code of cross-species breeding (or whatever it's called). Nolan "started again," but he didn't start his mission again. He started his LIFE again, after reflecting on what Debbie and Mark taught him about family.
I think...idk it's hard to tell what this man's thinking.
