i do have to say that this drawings get progresivly more filled up pages as we go along, because i was getting more accustomed to working on a small notebook (11x17cm). so much so i had to redo boyle and hans to meet a similar level of quality shown on the later entries! only those 2 got redone, otherwise i dont know when i wouldve stopped redoin these (fuckin perfectionism)

This post has reached like 150 notes (thank you!) and it just hit me that none of the examples I gave were from Dai Dark despite tagging it so, so here we go - there are supermarkets entirely staffed by zombies that will self destruct if you stick around in them for too long, and the shopping carts have spider legs that can walk up walls. Absolutely no one reacts to this with anything above mild interest and I ADORE that.

I think the joy of Q Hayashida's works for me isn't just the humour and the copious amounts of gore... it's that she makes frankly horrible settings and people just... live there. Hole is attacked by zombies every year and people turned it into a festival where you can win raffle prizes. A restaurant has a toilet that opens directly into Hell and they use it to attract customers. Let's wave to the devils in the sky, they might wave back. Their worlds are so awful in so many ways but for these people this is just life. It's all good. The apocalypse happened and there is still street food and baseball. Isn't that great?

When writing, I always find that there are two specific mistakes that I keep doing - the first is lapsing into the present tense ("He walks over the counter." instead of "He walked over to the counter.") And the second is sorta bookending a sentence with the same word ("Basically it's a new way of thinking about cheese basically.") and while I generally catch them on the editing phase that doesn't stop them from filling me with the BURNING RAGE OF ONE THOUSAND SCREAMING SUNS GOD DAMN IT I DID IT AGAIN NOW I HAVE TO REWRITE THE WHOLE FUCKING PARAGRAPH IN THE RIGHT TENSE DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT so anyway I'm curious to hear if other writers have their own "pet mistakes" as it were and what they are :)
