I looked everywhere for a quote from this album that fit this and I came up with blanks lol.

ANYWAY I finished it :) Used an image from one of the magazines in mindshower in the background. Pretty happy with this? I lost the reference photo after the sketch so I was forced to just color it how I thought would be right... which honestly was good practice because I need to stop relying so much on references.

Quick little 45 minute sketch. Kind of just was feeling stressed and needed to draw so I spent like ten minutes on this before I went to sleep last night, then fifteen during lunch break, and finally finished it up this evening. I’m fairly happy with how it turned out. Kind of a vent thing.

Also I’ve been listening to 102 on repeat pretty much all day today. It was really matching my mood and somehow made me feel a little better. It’s a beautiful song; I wish they’d release it (a studio version rather than the acoustic would be amazing too!) so I wouldn’t have to keep watching it on YouTube. Oh well. At least we have it.

Aha that song has the weirdest storyline but it’s so vibey and I love it so much :)

This took me two hours and five minutes to draw... I’ll probably put up the speedpaint on either my YouTube or Instagram TV later. Idk. We’ll see. Pretty happy with how this turned out though.

Background patterns are credited to Procreate’s awesome brushes—the grunge one, the grid one, and the Victorian one. I quite like the effect I got with those.

shading colour tips

hey yall its me the Art Mom™ to help you shade pretty

rule 1: DO NOT SHADE WITH BLACK. EVER. IT NEVER LOOKS GOOD. 

red- shade with a slightly darker shade of purple

orange- slightly darker and more saturated shade of red

yellow- i think like..a peach could work but make it a really light peach

green- shade with darker and less saturated shade of blue or teal

blue- shade with purple

purple- a shade thats darker than the purple you’re using and maybe a little pink (MAYBE blue)

pink- darker shade of red

white- a really light lavender or blue..or i guess any really light colour??

black- okay listen dont use pure black to colour anything unless you want to leave it with flat colours because you cant really shade black lol

grey- a slightly darker shade of purple or blue (less saturated)

brown- slightly darker and less saturated shade of purple or red

aaaaand thats all i got lol. let me know if there is anything i should add to this list!!

I mean I probably could have done better but I really like this right now. I’m using my brand new 10.2” 7th generation iPad and an Apple Pencil now and I honestly love it so much. This was just a warm-up, get-used-to-Procreate drawing, so next tine I’ll know to use a bigger canvas and whatnot. (Can we talk about how much I love the water pen under the calligraphy section?)

I’ll be working on the Draw This in Your Style soon... debating between my dragon OCs Olive or Cnocán. .

Halsey && Matty

Okay, so this is going to be long so I’m going to put it under a read more BUT I just want to say that I don’t have sources for most of this because it’s from Halsey’s old tumblr that she deleted and other stuff (screenshots, pictures, etc.) I’ve had saved on my computer for agessss so I don’t remember where I originally got them. But also a lot of this stuff, like the lyric analysis, just came from my own brain and the fact that I’ve seen way too many interviews of the 1975.
