One thing I've not seen yet in discussions of Kipperlilly's reasons for hating Riz is how much it parallels the feelings of people born into priviledged majorities about 'diversity hiring'.

The way she thinks that having a tragic backstory makes you a better adventurer, when all it really does is hurt you, is exactly the way I've seen white cishet people complain that being in a minority gets you priority for job offers/grants.

The idea that having pain in your past from discrimination or trauma is worth it because you get 'more opportunities' in the working world from being a POC or LGBTQ+ or disabled is a genuine belief that some priviledged people hold. And to me that really mirrors Copperbitch Kipperbottle's jealousy of Riz both having a dead father and ESPECIALLY coming from a poor background.

Thanks to everyone who was very kind to reply with info about the shows over the past few days! I was so confused why there wasn't more info on the ticket or email confirmation - turns out, as the lovely folks sitting beside me informed me, I had COMPLETELY MISSED AN EMAIL (which I was sooooooo bummed about since I am like, v organised and usually the person telling people to check their emails for the details) because it went to Spam instead of my inbox 😭 Note to future self if d20 ever come back here - check your feckin junk mail a week beforehand. But seriously everyone who replied really really helped while I was feeling like ????, thank you so much!

I was absolutely LOSING it last night at the d20 live show last night when Brennan started talking about crowns, throwback to one of my earliest dimension 20 posts 😂

Fellow D20 fans! I'm curious, has Brennan/cast/crew ever chatted about the running motif of crowns in Dimension 20? I'm always mulling it over (Mulligan-ing it over? badumchhh) whether it's a fun universe-connecting thing like TAZ shopkeeper cats, if it's a thematic/symbolic thing, or if it's just like, Miyazaki's always got aircraft in his film, D20's always got crowns 🤷👑

(I have not watched every season, so please no spoilers 🙏 just curious if they have ever spoken about it at all, so I can look forward to seeing it!)
