How is someone honestly supposed to be okay? How is it possible for someone to go through life living confidently and not doubting anything anyone ever says to them. How can someone be normal and be in a relationship not having to stress so much about the small stuff such as whether they’re sleeping or out cheating even though the person has been nothing but loyal and amazing and has given you no reason to doubt anything but you don’t see how they could possibly love you or see you as beautiful so much to the point where it pushes them away and you hate yourself even more. I want to get help. I know I need help. I can’t lose her and I know it’s not right for me to feel so insecure. It just hurts when I’m told I’m too much but I know I’m too much and it just sends me spiraling further. She’ll go on Instagram and my whole mood changes because I know she’ll see all the prettier girls on there who have bodies fit for bikinis and crop tops and then she’ll just turn to me and see nothing but an ugly and insecure person who can’t see the good in things. How am I supposed to begin believing the I love yous when we’ve been together for almost two whole years and I don’t see it as two years of her loving me but rather her being closer and closer to getting sick of me. I’ve had two other people before in my life and they both got tired of me eventually and started leaving me slowly. I get depressed whenever I think it’s happening even if it’s small things because that’s how it’s been before. I know I’m not with those people and I’m with the person I’m working towards getting a home with and marrying someday and the person who I’m convinced was made for me in every single way possible. I’m going to get help for her. I want to get help for myself too but everything just seems to be wanting to push me down. How are people comfortable with themselves enough to be comfortable in relationships? I’m scared that I love you hard and feel too much. It takes over my whole life and I want to know what’s wrong with me.

Klance headcanons - what Keith likes about Lance

- SKIN, SKIN, SKIN.

- SKIN COLOR, SKIN COLOR, SKIN COLOR.

- Keith fell in love with Lance’s skin tone the moment he laid eyes on him, for a long while he tried to convince himself that he was just jealous of it because he’s pale af himself, but come on.. Who are we kidding..

- And he’s soft, oh the boy is soft. Keith loves nothing more than to snuggle against his wet skin in the shower. Especially against his warm chest.

- Those eyes that make him melt, he loves everything about them, the shape, and pretty blue color.

- That hair, the brown color and the soft feeling against his fingers as he strokes through it.

- His smile, when they weren’t dating Keith always thought it was sad that Lance was always scowling at him, because he adored that smile of his. It never failed to bring a smile to his own lips.

- His voice, especially when he spoke softly. Having Lance whisper loving things into his ear before sleep would make Keith’s heart sing.

- His ass, he wouldn’t admit it to any one but he has his hand on Lance’s rear… Almost every time he gets the chance. He was happy to find out Lance wasnt against spanking every now and then in the bedroom.

- But most of all he loved who Lance was, and especially who Lance is when he’s with Keith. With the others around, Lance is still quick to be defensive about their relationship, but when they’re alone in their room..

- He’ll still pick a fight with Keith over everything, but do it in a playful way, cuz he knows it’ll earn him soft spanks later on.

- He’ll scold Keith for sucking at a game and then give him small kisses for being an idiot.

On their first date, Keith asks Lance where he wants to go.

"Your second favourite coffee shop," Lance replies without skipping a beat.

"Why second?" Keith questions, hiding a smile.

"Because I don't want your first favourite to be ruined if this doesn't go well," he's answered immediately - the words almost rehersed, like they've been said before. "I wouldn't want to spoil it, if you decide you don't like me."

It's said with firmness - shutting down argument before it can even be pondered - and Lance's expression is blank. So Keith nods, and does as requested.

They go to a quiet place with lots of couches, art hanging on the walls and music playing in the background. They order their drinks and pick a spot in the corner, chatting amiably as hours pass unnoticed.

Needless to say, the date goes well. So they schedule another at the same place. Why not, right? The coffee was good, and the menu is extensive. Not bad, for second favourite.

And two dates becomes three becomes four becomes ten, until the coffee shop is just the place to go when they meet up.

After work, before class, on the way home from an afternoon spent running errands. They develop preferences, ordering the same thing until the baristas just know to have it ready.

They celebrate birthdays there, events, milestones. Order pastries and tea and exchange gifts with blushing faces. Confessions of love are made and accepted, repeated, remebered. Emblazoned forever in the smell of espresso.

It's where they share big news, idle gossip, personal facts. Where Lance is introduced to Shiro. Where Keith meets all of the McClains.

It's the place they can go when home becomes boring. When the weather is cold or rainy. When they just want a good cup of joe.

It gets to the point where Lance will send a text with just a time, because Keith doesn't need to know which place. He'll walk in and there he is - already sitting in their corner spot with two drinks waiting and a smile sweeter than them both.

And a day comes when a year has passed, and their anniversary is upon them, and Keith asks Lance where he wants to go.

"Your second favourite coffee shop," Lance answers coyly, but Keith takes his hand and suggests something else.

"How about my first?"

Which has Lance intrigued and nodding, obediently closing his eyes when Keith gives the instruction. But when he opens them again he finds himself sitting in a very familiar corner spot. And he glances back at his boyfriend with a curious grin.

"But this is-"

"I lied," is all Keith says, causing Lance to tilt his head in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

And Keith takes his hands, stepping around the table with rosy cheeks.

"On our first date" he explains in a whisper, "when you asked to come here..."

"Your second favourite coffee shop," Lance supplies, but Keith shakes his head.

"We never went to my second favourite." And he steps closer, biting his lower lip as he goes on. "Because despite what you said - about not wanting to ruin my first - to not spoil it for me - I already knew I liked you. I wasn't worried that you'd tarnish anything, and it broke my heart that you thought you would. So I took you to my favourite. You deserved nothing less."

Lance is at a loss for words, staring unblinkingly back into eyes he's come to adore.

"But, to be honest with you," Keith continues, playing with Lance's fingers now, "I was kinda hoping we could stop calling it that."

"Calling it what? Your favourite-?"

Keith nods, and then suddenly he's sinking to one knee, grinning when Lance gasps in surprise despite knowing what this gesture entails.

"Lance, love of my life," he begins, holding that intense blue gaze even as it starts to blur with tears. "I've known you would be the one ever since that first date. And every date after has only reminded me how head over heels I am for you. You've made me see how precious it is to spend time with someone you care about. How simple it can be to bask in their presence without even needing to speak. How enjoyable a cup of tea can be when it's shared with someone you love. You're my favourite person, and this is my favourite coffee shop, and I want nothing more than to keep coming here with you, again and again, until we grow old and tire of this corner spot. So Lance-"

And he reaches behind him, taking a decorative silver ring from his pocket that he holds up for his beloved to see. Several people look over with hands covering their mouths, but neither notice. There's only them in this small forever.

"-how about we make this place your favourite coffee shop as well?"

And Lance laughs - sounding like a sob as wet tears spill over his cheeks. But he's nodding, murmuring 'it already was' softly under his breath.

"Marry me," Keith grins, to which Lance responds with a cheeky: "If you insist."

Keith stands, wrapping him up in a tight embrace as the onlookers applaud, and Lance beams when Keith slips the ring over his finger - making sure to tease him about his proposal later on. But for now all he can do is laugh and cry and hug this absolute cheese of a man.

But he still kisses him, and the baristas bring over the orders they know by heart. But neither notice - too preoccupied with one another as they return to their seats clasping hands and staring fondly into each other's eyes.

They're perfectly content to just sit together in their corner spot, in love and happy for it at their favourite coffee shop.

Klance headcanons because I miss them (modern edition)

Lance is very insecure. He tends to overthink which frustrates Keith a bit because Keith doesn’t know how to make his boyfriend believe that he actually loves him and no one else

They both talk about their future together and they hope to be able to retire one day and have a coffee shop together where they’ll live on top of their coffee shop

Keith is very much a more distant person. He prefers to have space when something is wrong and Lance is very much the opposite of that so they don’t mix too well in that sense but Keith makes sure to take time before talking about anything so it doesn’t come across as angry or as if he’s blaming lance for stuff because he cares and wants his boyfriend to be okay

Lance has always been very needy and sometimes he thinks it’s a lot for Keith. Lance struggles with this but he understands so she tries to pick up new hobbies to distract himself but Keith reassures him that no, he doesn’t think he’s needy or clingy as he’s been called by exes and he loves how much love lance gives him

Whenever Keith visits Lance’s family for any sort of event, Lance always makes sure to translate any drama going on and Keith is very much up to date on who they do and don’t like

They always love making time for each other no matter how busy they both get. They always makes sure that they have at least one or two date nights per week that involve eating a lot of food and watching a movie

Keith’s family is not as chaotic as Lance’s family so Lance feels the need to tone down himself when around Keith’s family because he’s scared they won’t like him

Keith just also doesn’t really talk much about his family that Lance hasn’t met yet

They always always make sure to have a winter vacation right between their birthdays because they deserve it and they love exploring new places together

A note for the heartbroken

I’m no expert in love. If anything, I’ve only had experience with three people, but in all three situations, I’ve been the one left. I was the one who was still in love when they were no longer in love with me. With that being said, I’m sorry if you are or have gone through the same thing. It’s an unexplainable pain but it’s deep in the heart. You feel entirely helpless and you know time will fix things. People keep telling you time will fix things, but you’re not okay right now. Time isn’t here yet. You’ll find someone else. Maybe you will, but right now, there’s no one else you want.

Your friends and family will tell you they are there for you, but all you can say is

“Thank you”

“Thank you. I’m okay”

They mean they will be there for you when you are ready. Everyone has different ways of coping with pain. Some may not even need any time to move on, but some have the bad luck of not being able to move on so quickly. However, this pain, in particular, tries to do the worst to you and tries to bring the worst out of you. It’s a lingering pain even when you are okay, but you will be okay. I promise you this won’t last forever. Don’t give in to the feeling of needing to reach out to them and begging them to come back. You need to give yourself the love that they weren’t able to give to you. You could have had the most perfect relationship, but if they left or if you left, it was because the desire and motivation to keep making the relationship work were no longer there. They can say they miss you too, but if they left once, they could leave again. You give them another chance. Now what? They want another one. You don’t deserve that off and on sort of relationship. You deserve someone who won’t give up on you during the smallest or the biggest of arguments. You deserve someone who makes it a point to remind you of their love without you even having to ask them to remind you.

They could give you the longest list of reasons for why they’re not the right person for you but deep down, they don’t really feel the need to be the right person for you. Don’t get me wrong, there are cases where people aren’t the right person for someone even though they may belong together. Even in this situation, time apart is needed.

There are countless situations that I can’t even begin to cover, but we’re at the point where they left. Don’t think about the reason why they left yet if they didn’t give you one. I still haven’t found out the reasons why I was left in my first two relationships. I moved on. I moved on even if it took me a year or longer. I moved on and learned more about myself. When I think about it, I was left with countless emotional scars. I wasn’t told Happy‌‌ Birthday during my second relationship. I was never taken out on dates. I was cheated on and I was always giving more than I was getting. I was being left slowly over the span of weeks or months until it happened one day. However, I thank my scars. I can’t get rid of my insecurities, but I can find someone who will love me enough to want to deal with them. That person will be the one for me. I don’t know who it will be. I might get my heart broken countless more times, but I will get myself back up every time and continue to not be afraid to love.

Things were always left unsaid. If this is the case for you, write them down. Write them down every morning and night. Eventually, you’ll stop. You’ll run out of things that you want to say, and they’ll leave your mind. At the end of it, you’ll be laughing at how stupid you were for loving someone who didn’t love you back. Don’t lose yourself. No one is worth it.

You don’t deserve to be the second choice to anything.

As time heals, so will you
