You know what’s interesting? All the villains in Banana Fish associate Ash with a devil.
You know what Shorter associates with him? An Angel
The story where they meet is called Angel Eyes
Guess what’s falling from the sky in season 2’s opening? White Feathers.
It’s like Ash’s wings finally took a physical form and as he’s taking flight, getting to finally have freedom his feathers swirl off in a flurry to rain down on those mourning him as a confirmation that he’s finally truly free.

These violent joys have violent ends.
Dying in triumph like fire and gunpowder.
That in a kiss, they are consumed.

I totally imagine in the past Ash would sometimes get a bit over done / busy with all the gang-mafia-studying shit he was doing that he would sometimes forget to take care of himself / eat and Shorter would probably cook some chinese food and bring it over and pretty much make sure Ash would eat his food - probably being a goof ball about it while doing so.
you know what would make this world better, more soft hc and fics of shorter... I'm just saying 😔

hate when a character dies during the final stretch of the show/book. like you’re just gonna traumatize them and then what? fucking stab them before they obtain their well deserved happiness? fuck you

Episode 2 Trash Rambles
Eiji makes me cry inside on the basis of how wholesome and pure he is and how hard he tries. “If I am going to die anyways I am going to die trying”. I love him ;-;
