With most people there is a way to peacefully reason with them. You can't do that with fascists. After a childhood of learning not to give in to violent impulses and years of adult hood living that way this video seems wrong. But people need to do the thing that works. You don't want Nazis then you either deradicalize them and fix society... or you give them no place to go that accepts their presence. If you peacefully occupy space with Nazis and other fascists they will take your acceptance of them in your space as YOU AGREEING WITH THEM but not being willing to speak out. Did you get that? If you are kind and rational and try not to make a scene in a public place where the Nazis are hanging out; if you don't get instantly combative and up in their faces as a person who does not agree with them they will assume from your lack of reaction that YOU QUIETLY AGREE with what they believe in. They take other people's silence and tolerance of their presence as agreement. This happened in the punk clubs years ago. Racist groups would show up at punk venues. The punks tried to get along with them but it was rapidly obvious that if you did that those 2 neo-Nazis in the corner become 10 of them in a week. A month or two later half of the people in your favorite club, pub, bar, restaurant (etc) are Nazi's and fewer and fewer of the non-Nazi's of the world come into those places. If you don't want ants don't leave food out where they can get to it. If you don't want Nazis don't be nice. Don't be polite. Don't be tolerant. Make it clear which side you are on.

beginning in at least 2014 infotainment systems in the company’s vehicles began downloading and storing a copy of all text messages on smartphones when they were connected to the system. Yikes. Your car is probably keeping all your text messages and sending them to its manufacturer if you connect to your infotainment system.

The manufacturer does two things with this data:

shares it with law enforcement

sells it to advertisers for extra revenue

this is called nepotism. it's the most common way to fill a senior job position. in the creative arts it is often the only way to get into the industry.

In the arts a whole lot of talented people choose to have zero meaningful relationships. instead they move to a location where the 'names' in their field hang out so that they will can become known. this is why NY and Hollywood and Nashville are filled with so many people who spend every spare moment schmoozing at parties. And having sex with people who might wind up helping their careers. Unlike other fields a songwriter or performer can't just send their CV to Sony to get an interview and eventually get a contract or be a song writer. In fact after the big 80s buy up of music companies the old days of being scouted died. instead there is a wall of humans between the artists and the corporate people who need them.

young me especially would have hated hearing this but networking is literally the most important thing you can do to improve your situation like forget economic barriers to education etc just keep making friends with different people and eventually someone will offer you a hand up just because they dig your vibe and that is exactly all that's happening when undeserving people surpass you anyway

Gee I wonder if there is some way that ACTORS - some of the most recognizable people on the planet who are used to speaking in public & having many one-on-one interactions with fans and presenters ... might just be able to band together with people who WRITE for a living and are really good with persuasive words. I don't think the studios have thought this through. Their desire to own the visual and audio likeness of everyone they put on camera ONCE is not going to go down well. and FWIW - actors and writers from ALL forms of media need an equivalent group to ASCAP and BMI looking out for their monetary interests.

And those corporations resisted every change. Even the ones that obviously benefited them financially too. Because when it comes down to it a large number of companies do not exist to make money. You’d think they would but no. That’s a goal of course but a whole lot of people are in business because it gives them a sense of power. They are power fixated people a bit high in psychopathic traits. That means given the chance of being wealthier for longer while also having a lot of healthy happy well-balance employees... or getting a sense of power from forcing people to behave in an unnecessarily servile way (keep them poor and desperate, they must always look busy, they must bow and scrape) - they take the option that gives them the biggest power fix. Here’s the definition of Capitalism. There are three common definitions used in various dictionaries. I find it interesting that US schools rarely mention definition three.

An economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development occurs through the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market.

The state of having capital or property; possession of capital.

The concentration or massing of capital in the hands of a few; also, the power or influence of large or combined capital.

Item #3 makes it plain that there is a power fixation in capitalism. In fact it makes it very clear that capitalism is pro oligarchy.

Just a reminder that there are many ways to combat a horrible group of employers. Labor is one. Another is to have some of your A-liners put their money where their mouths are. We need to talk about how and why United Artists was formed. Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and D.W. Griffith formed UA to protect their own interests as well as to “protect the exhibitor and the industry from itself.” Given the unwise size that media ownership and production corporations have grown to, the creative people in that industry need as many ways as possible to keep the wealthy corporate end of the industry in check.
