So the decision to see Ross Noble last night was last minute, following the cancellation of Judah Friedlander's standup show which was originally booked for the night. I won't lament missing Judah as it's subject to some ongoing "discussion" via twitter, other than saying damn shame... However, having consumed so much of Ross over the years on radio and TV, it was a treat to "sub" him in and finally see him live. Talk about value for money - 2.5 hours onstage (a very colorful inflatable stage) with his trademark scatterism, though I think he finally managed to tie up all loose ends in the end. So in short, he's at the Enmore all week - book now while Tix still available!

#SFF Candidates so far... Any more suggestions?
So bought the flexi 10 ticket pack to the Sydney Film Festival. Despite limitations around work commitments at the time, here are the no brainers I've locked in so far: Dead Europe - have been waiting for the film adapt of Christos Tsolkas very dark novel for a while. Nice surprise to see it lurking in the schedule. Might be time to re-read the novel in preparation as it's been awhile. Not Suitable For Children - the festival opener. I'm always a sucker for a Sydney film, and this one is even closer to home with it's Inner West setting. Moonrise Kingdom - it was only a few weeks ago I wondered aloud when the next Wes Anderson film would appear - and surprise here it is! So plan on taking some random +1s to the above. That leaves me with 4 Tix left for solo viewing, so time to venture left of centre.... Suggestions?

Burning Man (2011) - I missed this great Australian film at the cinema, but so glad to be catching up with it via iTunes. Great cast, beautifully shot, showcases Sydney beautifully. And most importantly, it's got great raw emotion.

OK, now that I have finally completed the 20 ep journey, I can highly recommend the Danish series Forbrydelsen (The Killing). Yes I'm a little behind on this one, but it's only recently become available on iTunes and I missed the original SBS screening (though it is currently repeating on SBS2). Great plot (though the false turns do become a little predictable), great cast and I really enjoyed seeing Copenhagen as the moody winter location.
There is a US version just released, but I think I'll stick with the original on this one.

Fun little app from The Propellerheads (yep the same ones who made Shirley Bassey cool again in the '90s) called Figure. Let's you mixed funky bass, lead and beats into a micro track.
