April TBR
Hey y’all! I know I forgot to do a March TBR and Wrap-Up, but I’m picking back up with April. I keep seeing everyone bragging about how many books they’ve read already this year and I’m like I’ve read 13 books. Haha, okay maybe they aren’t bragging, but that’s how I feel about it. I really want to read more this year, so I guess it’s time I got my butt in gear
.
What I (tentatively) plan on…

Book Quotes | The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
Book Quotes | The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
This book was CRAZY. I don’t mean like it was all over the place or anything, but the plot twist is huge. It’s a little slow so it might not be for everyone, but I still highly recommend it. Here’s some quotes I liked from the book:
“Remember, love that doesn’t include honesty doesn’t deserve to be called love.”
— The Silent Patient, Alex Michaelides

TTT | Places in Books I’d Love to Live
Have you ever read a book and been like, “That’d be an awesome place to live!” I’ve felt that way a few times while reading a book, but most of the time I just want to live there but not have all the drama (battles, etc) that come along with it. Here’s a list of books that have places I would like to live:

TTT | Funny Book Titles
Book titles definitely tell a lot about a book even before you open it to start reading. I love that ah-ha moment when the title makes sense and you reread that part again because you’ve figured it out. I love books with strange titles and here’s a few I’ve enjoyed reading:

Book Quotes | Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron
Book Quotes | Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron
Cinderella is Dead is a retelling of the classic Cinderella we’re all familiar with. In this retelling, Sophia is tired of the balls where the men pick women as wives and the women have no voice. This is one of the best retellings I’ve ever read of any fairytale. I really hope the author decides to write more stories like this. Here’s some of the quotes I liked from Cinderella is Dead:

TTT | Books on my Spring TBR
Let’s talk about the books we will be reading this Spring. I don’t really read seasonally, but I do make tentative TBR. I say ‘tentative’ because I don’t always follow it and read other books. So, here’s some books I’d like to read this spring:

Book Quotes | The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks
Book Quotes | The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks
So, I actually watched this movie many times before I actually picked up the book to read it. There are many differences between the book and the movie, which is usually the case, but with this book they changed a lot of the main big things. That being said, I love the book AND the movie equally. But we’re here for the books, so here’s some quotes from The Best of Me that I really liked:

Book Quotes | Furia by Yamile Saied Méndez
I only have a couple short quotes that I wanted to share with you from Furia, but this book was an amazing and inspiring read. It’s about a young woman chasing her dream of becoming a pro fútbol by living a double life because she knows her parents wouldn’t allow a girl to play. It’s a great read and I highly recommend it. Here’s some quotes I liked from the book:

TTT | Character’s Jobs I Wish I Had
This week’s TTT topic is Character’s Jobs I Wish I Had. To be honest, I’d take just about any character’s job. I’m disabled so it’s hard for me to be able to find a job, but my dream job would to be working at a bookshop or book editor at a publishing firm of some kind. I wouldn’t mind doing other things though. Here’s some jobs that book characters have that I wouldn’t mind having:

Book Quotes | The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
Book Quotes | The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
To be honest, I was a little disappointed with The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. It’s the prequel to The Hunger Games trilogy. Maybe if this book had come out before the trilogy I would have enjoyed it more, but knowing what I already knew about Snow and everything he has done made this book kind of a let down. Nevertheless, I still found a few quotes that I really liked:

TTT | Books that Made Me Laugh Out Loud
Have you ever read a book and literally laughed out loud? I know I have plenty of times. I love when books make me laugh out loud. Some of my most favorite books have made me LOL and even when I reread them I still laugh. In all honesty though, it doesn’t take much to amuse me, so if anything is even slightly funny while I’m reading I’ll probably laugh. Here’s some books that have made me laugh…

Book Quotes | Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles
Where Dreams Descend was an interesting read. There’s magic, fantasy, and deception and an awesome female main character. I highly recommend checking this book out. Here’s some quotes I liked from the book:
“Make no mistake, I know I don’t have to prove a single thing to them. What matters most is what I prove to myself. Giving up would be an insult to everything I know I’m capable of. And…
