yes!!! i'm kind of sad that they toned that down in the remake, because julie and daniel's borderline criminal behavior is arguably what made them more interesting (and hilarious). daniel was unhinged, but jp was on another level. which is saying a LOT. and yeah, bia's boyfriend was in episode 12. to be honest, i think the best part of this show were the characters. even smaller characters like valtinho, shizuko and patrick were memorable and i really felt their absence in the remake. i also missed félix and martín's (reggie and alex) dynamic. they were so cute with pedrinho and daniel's broody and unpredictable personality often had them acting almost like parents to him.

i think it's just the fact that the implication that they were crushed to death and likely did not die instantly was considered a little too dark and death by hot dog is funnier. in the og show, they even showed PICTURES of the scene. even if it wasn't at all explicit, the last picture of them alive was of their reactions to the incoming truck and then the next picture was the truck, tumbled over.

in julie e os fantasmas the guys died because they were trying to recreate the abbey road photo and didn't see the car coming, so every day i wonder what about that made kenny go "nah, death by hot dog is more realistic"
