This is really horrible.
I recently read something (sorry can't remember) about how the focus on language instead of actions in oppression discourse sometimes has some serious disadvantages. One of them is sexist/abusive men can gain cachet in leftist spaces by saying all the right things, then use their positions of privilege to assault women.
I'm sad to say I've seen this more than once as an acivist and I wasn't able to do anything about it (mainly due to the direct requests of those women not to).
do u have any more context for the sexual assault allegations with the greens?
Yes.
NSW Greens MLC Jeremy Buckingham has been accused of sexual harassment in 2011 at a party where he allegedly touched Ella Buckland inappropriately
Buckland then quit working for the Greens in 2012. She also made a formal complaint that she says has been mishandled and that she didn’t receive much support
There are other instances like this, including in 2017 when Holly Brooke, co-convenor of the NSW Young Greens, says she was indecently assaulted by a party member
Journalist Lauren Ingram claims she was violently raped by a Greens party volunteer in 2015. The Greens have since banned that volunteer and vowed to review and strengthen their policies dealing with sexual assault, violence and harassment.
Leader Richard Di Natale has said that it’s “devastating” that women don’t feel like the party has an effective method in place to deal with these issues and complaints aren’t well handled
Which is really depressing to hear and I hope that the party learns from these experiences and grows. Women don’t deserve to feel endangered anywhere, and definitely not in a political sphere that’s meant to be a vehicle for positive change.

Hi there. I just wanted to tell you that you are absolutely breathtaking beautiful and was interested to know, how long did it take you to grow your hair that long.
Thanks! I'd say it took three years at least to get close to this length from being about 2cm long.. then the growing sort of slowed down I guess? Probably the next two years it grew about 3 to 4cm? I don't really remember to be honest haha. But my friend cut it in 2013 and until a couple days ago I hadn't touched it.

@jerkeline omitted the steps two, four and six: lather everything in tomato sauce, preferably from a glass bottle if you are a purist

I think I'm a good person. But some days I wonder if I would murder someone with my bare (giant) hands if it meant I could be cis.
I wish, I wish, I was a cis

Here let me give you my first reaction when someone mentions they don’t date trans women because they don’t like penis
“Ugh this person’s probably going to say something stupid and disgusting about my existence as a woman or just in general. It’s like clockwork. I don’t want to be their friend or know them, I’ll clear out first chance I get.“
That’s it. I’m not out to convince someone to date me. I hear those magic words and even friendship becomes unlikely.
Have I been wrong before? Sure. I’ve had people explain themselves and very rarely they’re like that person I already talked about. Non invasive, regards trans women as women fully and completely, just not into penis, no revulsion involved for trans women, etc etc.
Very rarely.
I can bet you some solid big bucks most trans women are thinking the same exact thing when you announce shit like that. But apparently we’re trying to Control Your Sexuality Like The Heteropatriarchy or Something lmao

"Jeez you just love getting offended don't you"
Yes I get a girl erection everytime someone is bigoted towards me /s
Me: One of the hard things about being trans is that there are so many little attacks to your dignity, humanity, and safety that you can’t respond to all of them. Sometimes you have to just smile and accept being treated a little badly so you have the energy for the next fight…
Cis person: Yeah, don’t you know you can’t get angry at every little thing? You have to focus on your REAL enemies, not your friends! Don’t you know that in some places-

Ugh as a trans woman and radical feminist this hurts so much. I think a lot of it has to do with how twerfs identify themselves but honestly I don't know why soamy people play along with the misnomer. If anything they should be labelled reactionary feminists...
i don’t know what fucker managed the sleight-of-hand neccesary to make everyone “anti-radfem” rather than anti-twerf on this site. but remembering the variety of other ways that sort of demonization and lack of nuance has been applied on tumblr, i suppose it’s not surprising.

In the twenty four hours that I spent with my family this holidays
Sisters said n-word a bunch
Misgendered and misnamed a million times
Mum yelled at my fiance over nothing
Mum forgot to get me a Christmas present (after forgetting to get me a birthday present two weeks ago)
Mum kicked my sister's dog
It's aight though because my niece loved the present I made her and she's the cutest and best little kid.

Peter Dutton has argued that the postal plebiscite was a great success but rules it out as an option for deciding future political issues.
“It was great… but let’s never do it again” the giant evil potato said. “It was so successful that we’re retiring it, like a number on a good sportsperson’s sports jacket. You know… the… sports tradition with the numbers? I don’t know.”
“We can’t simply put issues of human rights up to public debate… not because people kept telling me “that’s demeaning” or anything, I’m just worried that it was successful in forcing change in the law and I fear if the government keeps getting pressured into respecting others I might be out of a job,” said the man in charge of ruining the lives of refugees. “May Australia never develop a conscience.”
When pointed out that 90% of LGBT+ people reported the plebiscite had a negative effect on their lives he responded “yeah… like I said: a success. I don’t have fucking empathy, I’m Peter Fucking Dutton.” He then flipped off a journalist before he retreated to his cobweb laden potato patch that was filled with blackened and rotting plants. He burrowed underneath with unnatural speed, hissing the entire time until he was submerged in dirt with the exception of the top of his bald head.
