Who Knew Talking to Ghosts Could Be Fun?

 Coolment didn’t know what to think, sitting on the cold kitchen floor watching the ghost sit next to him. Coolment had a can in his left hand, swishing it absentmindedly as to have some sort of noise in the silent room. It was awkward.

 The ghoul sighed, its body squishing around the stomach, making a squelching sound. It was disgusting, but Coolment had gotten used to the noises of the ghost.

 Grumbis moved, another sound of wet fur shuffling around making it obvious. He, if Coolment guessed right, was staring right at him. Coolment just dragged his can to his mouth, taking a tentative sip from it. The ghoul didn’t move, and Coolment eventually couldn’t handle it, he took a glance at the beast through the corner of his eye. He was right, Grumbis had his bright green eye angled right at Coolment. He winced, but just took another swing of the bitter drink in his hand.

 “..You.. I don’t think I really hate you as much as I wish I did.” Grumbis spoke, and Coolment almost jolted at the words. Instead, he took another chug from the can, avoiding the ghost’s gaze. The fact that only parts of the suit tore off just.. Unsettled Coolment. He didn’t like only seeing one bright, lifeless, eye. The other ‘eye’ was just too beady. It grossed him out.

 “Coolment. Why did you actually do it?” He asked, voice almost wispy. Coolment is pretty sure that if it could, his voice would have just gone with the wind.

 “..Sam told me to.” He mumbled, chugging the beer and tossing it to the side. He sat up, on his knees, and crawled to the open pack of beers. He slipped another can out of it and settled himself back to the counter.

 Grumbis grumbled, shakily standing. The wet noises that came from the fur almost made Coolment gag as he popped the can tab open, grimacing at the fizz that pooled out of the small hole, sliding to the inner part of the can top. He was glad it had a ridge, or would a wall be a better word?

 “Coolment..” Grumbled said, Coolment hated how weary the voice sounded. Coolment didn’t look up, instead eyeing the dying fizz of his drink. “Coolment.” Grumbis said again, now adding volume, “You can’t do everything Sam wants. It.. It will do you no good.” He said, tone turning almost.. Angry? At who? Sam? Of all people? Coolment was his killer, shouldn’t he be mad at him?

 Oh. Right. He said he wasn’t, though he should. Coolment forgot about that. 

 “..I need him.” Was all Coolment replied before he took a big chug of his warm drink. Grumbis made an audible groan at it, “No you don’t! You don’t need that.. That asshole! He’s done nothing but hurt you! Honestly, I should have seen it sooner.”

 “Yea, you should have. He kidnapped you.” Coolment said with a grin, setting the tinfoil cylinder down next to him, “But hey, what do I know? I’m just the guy that gave you free meth.”

 He could hear the false cat groan, “Look, dude, I just- You know how Abe Usive was! He sucked! And I didn’t want to be in the cat costume all my life!” “Yet here you are.” Coolment said, “Though, I guess you are right. You are no longer alive. But that doesn’t mean you reached your goal.” Grumbis huffed, crossing his arms and shockingly gagging at the wet sound it made. His fur tail swished in distaste of it, further aggravating the ghost, “If only you two kids just fuckin- All I wanted was to play nice till you guys got bored! I didn’t know you both were psychos!” Coolment rolled his eyes, “Like you weren’t planning on squeezing us of money. You were there for the food and uh.. Actually why did you stay? We tried to make you run away.. Still confusing..”

 “Like I said-”

 “Cmon, dude. You’re already dead. Would it double kill you to tell the truth?” Grumbis huffed, falling with a splat on the floor.

 “Fine, story time.” He grumbled, though Coolment paid it no heed. He just sat on his knees and grabbed the nearly forgotten beer, taking a swing at it before settling it down beside him once more.

 Grumbis paused for a dramatic second, his breath moving his chest and causing the somehow still wet fur to squelch again. Coolment would have to offer a towel one day, if he had any extra. He didn’t want to dry himself with cat bathwater soaked towels.. That’d be very gross.. And would be moldy. The ghoul didn’t have some of those dark spots before, and they weren’t caused due to the fact that it was filled with water.. Well, he guessed it was but you get the point. 

 Back to Grumbis, who was staring at Coolment for too long, seemingly trying to make Coolment feel excited. Coolment, after a moment of thought, did feel excitement. Because whatever he’s waiting for must be really in depth and coo-

 “I needed food and I was poor.”

 Coolment groaned, “Really?” Grumbis just nodded, and despite the fact that Coolment couldn’t see his mouth he knew the cat was slyly grinning. 

 “Ugh, being haunted is awfulllll!!!!” Coolment shouted, taking another swing at the can. Grumbis shrugged, “Consequences to talking to Sam! If I at first didn’t blame you I’d gladly haunt him the rest of his life… But he has that girl uh- Yuki, right? So I don’t feel too bad.. You should die by the way, Coolment. It’s actually not too bad.”

 Coolment raised a brow.

 Grumbis snorted, “Yea I’m lyin’, it sucks. But I’d feel better if I could hit you soo..” Coolment snickered, “yea, because I’ll ever let you do that.”
