okay so Gerard's backstory IS compelling and his MCR goth aesthetic IS cool and his defiance of his mother IS clutch and his partnering with Gertrude to stop the apocalypse(s) IS pretty metal

but he DID get my man Alf the Plumber (no-line background character in some random Leitner statement) killed and look. If Alf the Plumber has a million fans, I am one of them. If Alf the Plumber has one fan, that is me. If Alf the Plumber has 0 fans, I have died. Much like Alf the Plumber in that one statement where Gerard got him killed so what I'm saying is

But we forget to look for the obvious reasons for differences when confronted with assertions like ‘Men are stronger than women.’ We should be asking: ‘Which men?’ and ‘What do they do?’ There may be biologically based average differences between women and men, but these are interwoven with a host of social differences from which we cannot disentangle them.”
